What others abandon, we protect.

The Republic, and the galaxy, need more than an army, more than a fleet, more than the Jedi. In days to come, perhaps the army and navy will be obsolete and unneeded once peace is restored. But crime will always exist. Small-fry who prey on civilians, in most cases, but sometimes they gather together into packs, becoming more dangerous and ruthless in the process. Cartels. Syndicates. Smuggling rings. Drug traffickers. Slavers. These bands of criminal operate across jurisdictional boundaries and have the resources and manpower that local police and security forces can't handle.

This is where we come in. Authorized by the Senate and Assembly in their first bicameral and unanimous votes, we serve as the Republic's primary interstellar law enforcement agency. Distributed across Republic space, with sector-based detachments operating across a maximum of fifty star systems and their assorted planets, with a Central Command based on Corellia. Jurisdiction includes any cross-system crime or crime against Republic assets and personnel.

Ranks
Probationary Sector Ranger
- New recruits learning the ropes and cementing their investigative skills, based out of Sector Command, begin working on their piloting licenses and skill, as well as marksmanship training, unarmed self-defense, crime scene processing, and other fundamentals of law enforcement.

Sector Ranger- fully-fledged Ranger capable of acting as part of a Ranger team or solo to investigate crimes ranging from theft of Republic assets to murder to terrorist plots.

Special Enforcement Officer- Best of the best, senior Rangers who can cross sector boundaries without permission from neighboring Sector Commands. Often work undercover for long stints of time gathering evidence on the most difficult of cases, pursuing the most dangerous criminals to bring them to justice.

Support Specialists- Non-field agents with highly technical skills that require expertise to help crack cases. Forensic technicians, cryptographers, medical examiners/autopsy investigators, analysts, mechanics, engineers, etc.

OOC

The Sector Rangers are a canon law enforcement organization dating back throughout galactic history. Operating mostly independently from whichever government was currently ruling, the Sector Rangers served as a high-level law enforcement agency. Also rather romanticized and heroic, with many holovids and holodramas being made about them. They're like a pulp sci-fi space ranger organization. Daring heroes pursuing their quarry across the galaxy to bring even the most fiendish of criminals to justice.

We had Sector Rangers briefly towards the end of the original Galactic Republic here on Chaos, and they were enjoyable enough to be worth bringing back, especially for fans of NCIS and other crime procedurals. More of a dashing, Wild West take on the concept. Undercover investigations, stings, tackling organized crime, all the classics of cop movies and shows. Sometimes working with Jedi, but usually with only their fellow Sector Rangers for backup, they tackle the seedy underbelly of galactic society. For those not as into invasions or military RP, the Sector Rangers are a great alternative when you still want action, adventure, dashing heroics, and those epic rivalries between cop and criminal.

Initially, the focus will be on within Republic space as part of the Republic Judicial Forces. However, as things develop and we get more Sector Rangers and activity, the idea is to reach out to other major factions and work to develop IC agreements that focus on combating organized crime and other criminal elements that span multiple governments. Essentially, the idea is to grow the Sector Rangers into something closer to their Legends counterpart. Galaxy-spanning law enforcement officers. Essentially, space INTERPOL.

Break out your crime procedural hats and let's bust some crime lords.
