Built for use in ruins and tombs, the hand axe uses tech from the sasori staff to have a telescopic lightweight shaft able to fold in and an axe head that can clip downwards onto a belt or strap for easier carrying and storage. The crystal weave in it is designed by Sasori to add an extra layer of protection in the hands of force users and jedi when they are going around ruins. In combat it can function to protect them from animals that might be in such places or be used in the environment to cut and cling to ice and stone.
The axe is strong and durable for providing equipment support as a pry bar additionally with a ring on the end of the shaft handle to allow fiber cord attachment so it can be swung or thrown and retrieved to be used as a grapple in the short term. THey have worked on it... years of development and reseach from Sasori and its engineers as it has been used refining and shaping the axe. Turning it from a simple tool into a superior design able to be used to defend oneself but also climb around.
THey refined the materials and with a layer of self repairing metal the teeth of it for cutting and getting into the rock and metal can fix themselves. Ultrasonic vibrations allowing it to dig in more and more as it can cut at the molecular level and sever the bonds to latch on and microbarbs that cling to the metal at the smallest level. Where they have been working on some parts of it is how it can be stored and used with the ability to fold up and be stored in a pocket.
