Designed by Sasori as an internal security measure and feature of their temples or more obscure facilities. The Aterno is a system that randomizes the living modules and warehouse modules used in the construction by utalizing the empty space between the wallss to shift and move. Letting the double doors work like lift doors with the external remaining in place but internally they can shift and with repulsors and equipment built in the processes is able to be almost silent. With stairs themselves an lifts there is a means that allows it to shift stairs connecting different floors and change the direction of some lifts. FOr council chambers as a security measure the randomizing and re-arranging makes attacking a specific office much harder. For governmental bodies it can be a good gift and something that is seen as a massive overhaul and undertaking if it is being used properly. The system itself though is controlled and set up in specifric areas and the tens of millions of micro repulsors needed to make it function properly are designed to repair themselves and sustain themselves. In temples designed and built around the system it can give the appearance of sentience more to the internal workings of the building as the walls can use materia to create doors to other areas. For older buildings it is usually done in a smaller scale for security with important aspects.
