The way it tied into a New Hope was fantastic stuff. Well except Leia and Tantive IV actually being at the final battle. Leia sure is ballsy to claim its just a diplomatic ship right to Vader's face when he saw it on Scarif.
I thought it was flawless until you mentioned that right there. Most certainly ballsy indeed. Maybe they went the way of the smuggler and switched their ships call-sign to the Tantive IV AFTER they narrowly escaped the battle? Can you do that mid flight? *shrug* Or maybe she was just using her political skills, making a statement that was heard so she could present her case to the Senate assuming she managed to get out of there and report the misdemeanor in the absolute best possible scenario. Once more, *shrug*. Over all, I think the Princess is just a ballsy character in general and this only adds to that.

Galen was just meh, he died too quickly. Also, cheap way of explaining the 2m hole
You see, I see this all over the internet how this movie "Explains the forty year old plot hole: The reason there was an exhaust port". The weakness isn't the exhaust port, even if it does lead directly to the reactor core. That is one particular route of attack to trigger the ultimate weakness of the Death Star - that its
Main Reactor is rigged to cause a chain reaction. In any good and sensible design, destruction of the main reactor would only cripple the weapon and probably severely damage it, but it would be contained mostly just to the reactor. However, due to the machinations of Jyn's father, all it takes is that reactor to blow for ALL of the Death Star to go with it.
Really, the Rebels would have been more intelligent to send in an infiltrator a la Ben Kenobi de-powering the tractor beams, to go in and plant a bomb on the reactor. Maybe even a Kassian character who is willing to die for the cause to stay behind and make sure the reactor blows up, rather than going on a full frontal assault and hoping one of their X-Wing pilots is one with the force, and the force be with him.
However, despite everyone thinking that this solves a plot hole, it actually created a different one - why does the Death Star II blow up spectacularly with only a hit to its reactor? Without a Galen character to muck with the design to intentionally design a systematic self-destruct mechanism built into the reactor core, why does it also cause a chain reaction? WAS there another Galen character? Was he a Bothan? ;D
Speaking of a Bothans...

Zero Bothans died. Literally unwatchable. 0/10
I know this is a joke, but just to make sure no one who is oblivious is confused and KNOWS this is a joke, Bothans only died for the SECOND Death Star
I loved this movie which I watched this morning, and having been picking it a part for hours. Surprisingly, I had very few questions after watching it, it kept many of its ends tightly together. It was aesthetically rather odd however, that the movie didn't mention that Vader's castle was on Mustufar when all other planets were mentioned.
One last thing - Death Troopers = mysteriously awesome with their creep-speak (one of them actually spoke basic though on Eadu to tell Director Krennic to evacuate after the X-Wings bombed them)... how come they didn't shoot the guy with the red armor and fast shooting gun when he was mourning over his friend/brother(?). It was an awkward pause to me, and the effectiveness of the Death Troopers went way down when he stood up to face them. I suppose it's the will of the force, considering it was said the force was with him in a similar fashion to Donie Yen's character as a "Guardian of the Whills" (Call back to Lucas' original script).
Okay really, I'm done now :3
LOVE THIS MOVIE!
