Canon: Endor Boar Wolf
Permissions: N/A
Links: Bronze Tanzy (Vines for movement and new muscles), Thralda Leaves and Acknite Moss (combined to create the skin over Bronze Tanzy) Chamcort Bamboo (the tusks), and collected Paire Tree spikes (the small spine spikes along it’s back the teeth in it’s mouth).

GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: Risen Boar-Wolf
Designation: Non-sentient
Origins: Created and “risen” at Caer Badru.
Average Lifespan: Risen Boar-Wolves can for an average of six months before the magic and plants holding them together begin to fall apart and die.
Estimated Population: Semi Unique - 5 created as of this sub’s existence, and 3 of those 5 are still “alive” while two have decomposed.
Description: The general look of a risen Boar Wolf tends to follow what the animal would have looked like when it was alive, except with many more plant coverings that before. While a normal Boar-Wolf would have a more leathery, brown skin, a risen one, who’s skin is a mixture of the ground up Thralda Leaves and Acknite Moss, tends to be slightly greener and more fuzzy than leathery. Risen tusks are also longer, with odder twists than the original tusks that a Boar Wolf was born with, as the Risen’s tusks are made with the Chamcort Bamboo. Boar Wolf’s teeth were originally made for crushing or gnashing, but the Risen’s are replaced with Paire Tree spikes, making them more useful for slicing or cutting up.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Type 1.
Average Height of Adults: 3 meters tall.
Average Length of Adults: 5-6 meters long.
Skin color: Dark brown, slightly fuzzy looking skin, with green splotches where the leaf mixture for the skin is more prevalent. The spikes from the Paire Tree are a distinct clear white.
Hair color: The moss along their hide can appear hair like. It is typically described as a deep brownish color.
Distinctions: There are quite a few distinctions between a Risen Boar Wolf and what it originally was. Starting with the skin, because it is a mixture of moss and leaves, it does have a slightly less resistance to cutting to slicing. However, because both the moss and leaf have high resistance to fire, the “skin” of a Risen is practically impossible to set on fire. This, compounded with varnish from the leaves, also makes the skin highly resistant to washing away due to rain or water. A Risen is also just as fast, or maybe even slightly faster and stronger, than this animal before becoming a Risen, due to the many hundreds of feet of vines composing and creating the muscles and enhancing them. A Boar Wolf’s teeth, originally meant for gnashing the predator’s prey into smaller pieces, have instead been replaced with hardened, knifelike thorns from the Paire Tree. Risen have no digestive systems, so they have no reason to eat. Because of this, replacing the function of their teeth isn’t going to hurt the animal, and will instead make it into an even more deadly predator. Another piece to creating it to be even deadlier is the bamboo tusks. A Boar Wolf’s tusks typically are meant for knocking over prey, making them more blunt and have a rounded tip. Risen instead are grown and implanted with multiple hardened and sharpened tusks and horns. Although they do break slightly easier due to not being made of calcium, they can be replaced easier as a tradeoff.
Races: N/A
Force Sensitivity: Non-sensitive

Strengths:
Killing machine: Between the toughened bamboo tusks, spikes along it’s back, powerful muscles, and knife like teeth, the Risen Boar Wolf is meant to be a killer. There are tradeoffs to this, but the ultimate goal of creating this is met.
Tough bull: While the moss/leaf combination is slightly less resistant to cutting and piercing, the fact that neither of those materials create pain receptors mean that each of these large creatures can take a lot of beating before finally going down. A lot of damage has to be done to this thing before it dies for good, much more than a regular Boar Wolf could take.
Small needs: With no digestive system, Risen Boar Wolfs need little more than a consistent stream of water to stay alive.

Weaknesses:
Wild animal: The loss of its brain hinders it’s higher cognitive functions greatly makign these Risen much more wild animals and more likely to attack on site. Even the Mandragora, who created these creatures, have been known to lose control from time to time.
Short lived: Plants and magic can only hold something together for so long. The larger the creature, the shorter the lifespan, and with a lifespan of just a half year, it is not long after creation that these Risen will return to the dead.
Water deprived: There aren’t many needs that a Risen requires during it’s short lifespan, but water is absolutely one of them. This makes transporting the Risen from place to place whole without a large supply of water unviable.

CULTURE
Diet: Other - Risen Boar Wolves, and Risen in general, do not need food to survive. They only need water, which is used to gather nutrients to keep the plants functioning well, and in some cases, rejuvenate some minor wounds.
Communication: Risen have the ability to put together small amounts of telepathically transmitted sentences and words. They are more often than not little more than broken basic, but the more time they spend around a sentient after they’ve risen, the more language they can pick up.
Technology level: No technology use.
Religion/Beliefs: No religion, as they are still, at their core, animals, outside of revering and respecting the witches of the Mandragora for bringing them back to life.
General behavior: Once an animal becomes a Risen, they lose many of the needs that might’ve driven their behaviors when they were fully alive. Actions such as hunting, stalking prey, and eating are no longer part of their everyday behavior because they no longer need food to survive. Instead, Risen are much more likely to be seen grazing near rivers or waterfalls. Water is one of the only things these Risen need to live anymore, so more than likely they are found near some sort of water source. Risen Boar Wolves also retain the pack mentality they had before becoming a Risen. The three that are currently still alive all stay near each other and move as a pack. One tradeoff to not needing as many nutrients to survive is that Risen act like much more violent, wild animals, outside of the Mandragora that created them. Losing their brains during the rising process means that many of their more higher cognitive functions are diminished, making them more unpredictable and less easy to control.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The idea for Risen was not exactly something that many witches had toyed with before Shamira Kaurto had joined the Mandragora coven. Necromancy was plentiful, but it was really only used to bring back the dead in small amounts, and the results were typically less than exciting on their own, at least to her. Because of this, Shamira wanted to create a better necromancy risen zombie like creature. This endeavour took a large amount of research to even begin to conceive on how to do it.
The first task was collecting the samples that were needed to actually enhance the dead’s body functions past where they were when they were alive. That meant studying many, many different plants to find out what worked best. Thankfully, there were quite a few at Caer Badru to start this research off. Shamira spent many a night in the gardens, testing vine’s strength, spikes sharpness, and the toughness of moss. Once all of this research was done and collected, attempting to figure out how to use the force to grow these species quicker and reproduce them through the force using plant surge.
Once this was completed, a trip to endor was created. Shamira had read about Boar Wolves many a time throughout her research, and considered them to be a wonderful first test subject for this new type of magic. Once there, she worked alongside an ewok colony to capture five Boar Wolves, trading them the entirety of the animal’s meat for their help and the animals bones. All five of those animals bones were transported back to Caer Badru, where the final tests could begin.
The first two attempts failed..quite miserably. The vines on the first skeleton where not attached well enough, and by the time Shamira began to try and grow the skin mixture, the skeleton swiftly collapsed under the weight. The second try corrected this mistake, but the necromancy spell was completed before Shamira could finish growing the spikes for the teeth, leaving her no choice but to swiftly remove the magic keeping the thing together with one of her unique spells.
The third attempt was the one where things finally came together to create the very first of the Risen species. It was quite beautiful, and the young witch swiftly created two more to allow the Risen to have it’s pack, before releasing all three into the wilds surrounding Caer Badru to observe their behaviors, which only served her desire to continue her research..and arise more Risen.
