Public Rise of the rust bucket

Location: Silver's Rest hangars

There was something to be said about fixing your own ship. Therapeutic some wouldsl say. Working with ones hands too repair or peice something to into the form of your own creation. Too be able to step back and look upon it with pride at all you accomplished. Whoever those people were, probably never owned a ship.

Sam muttered in frustration as she attempted to remove the hardened circuit. Prosthetic fingers, as strong as they were, just couldn't quite get the grip to remove the old part. A patt that had been there so long that it was probably rusted in place. Which wouldn't be a surprise given how old the ship was and the condition she found it in. A fixer upper was an understatement when she had found it half buried in a pile of junk and ship parts. Somehow, she had convinced the Masters at the temple to let bring it back as a project to learn from. She highly doubted that any of them believed that it would fly again. Especially after the landing struts broke and the ship fell nose first onto the hanger floor immediately after being set down. Even still, this was her junk pile and she was proud of it.

She just wasn't proud of the hardened circuit she was trying to remove, that much was sure. Finding a screwdriver, she stuck it underneath the circuit. This circuit was coming out one way or another. Sam then pushed down with more strength then she realized. First nothing, then pop! The circuit shot out like a bullet and flew across the ship. The teen stumbled back in surprise before falling onto her back. She stared at the ceiling of the ship for a moment, before mumbling. "Oww...."

Dagos was once again hiding from Ryuchi Ryo and his responsibilities. He was sure the Jedi Knight who had been assigned as his tutor would prefer if Dagos was in his room reading about the importance of how one should breathe or even if Dagos was practicing his saber forms, which is what he spent most of his study time doing but not today. Today Dagos was roaming through the hangars at the silver rest.

Getting off of Commenor was always welcome even if he was just at the official home of the Silver Jedi on Kashyyk. Dagos was on the search for something exciting and if growing up the son of a nightclub owner on Nar Shaddaa taught the young karuni boy anything, it was that excitement could be guaranteed in a few places. One of those was any hangar bay, anywhere, you could always trust interesting people to show up where the ships were.

That guarantee was starting to look like false advertising as his morning was quickly passing by and the most interesting thing he had seen was two Wookies get in an argument after one dropped what looked like a fairly heavy box onto the other’s foot. Once it was clear there was not going to be any fisacuffs, Dagos had moved on. Walking some, running some, doing fake out moves on astromech droids like he was on a Bocaball court, his sneakers making satisfying squeaks with every crossover move he made.

Spinning around a blue and grey R-5 unit Dagos spotted Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri a over by a particularly trash ship. It looked like the togruta was talking to someone inside. Normally Dagos would of just left them alone buuuut he was bored and Kuxirra had been out on more missions than he had, maybe she was talking to a fighter pilot or one of the rangers Dagos had been hearing about. Now that would be cool.

Dagos jogged over to the pile of butt ship and called out to his fellow Padawan.

“Hey Kuxirra! Who ya talking too?”

Phalsi was strolling through, taking a gander at what everyone else maybe had in the hangars of Silver Rest. Her own work was hidden away in a private garage, but she was a little bored with her own work at the moment. Meaning she was frustrated and looking to take a break. She was in her usual working gear, coveralls and thick gloves.

The gloves were dangling from the front of her coveralls, held in by the side straps as she spotted what could only be a restoration in progress. A wicked grin grew as she spotted a few others near it. Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri was one she had met in class, while Dagos Terrek Dagos Terrek had been met at the lifeday party. And likely had upset.

Something that would pass with time hopefully.

She hopped and skipped over, ducking low amid one hop to look below the vessel and glimpsed a form lying on the floor. Circling around the long way, she came up to see Kuxxira speaking with what she guessed was the one working on the old ship. Not bothering to speak just yet, she instead turned her gaze to the ship, snagging her gloves from her coveralls and slipping them on before running a hand along the hull.

The child reached into her pocket. "I don't know who these invaders are, but they might have something to do with this." She pulled out a Jedi holocron.

"Cal Kestis? He died centuries ago. Were you frozen in carbonite or something?" Kuxirra asked, not unkindly. She took the holocron. "I'll take this to one of the Masters later." At Trilla Kestis Trilla Kestis 's hair comment, the Padawan smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Trilla. I'm Padawan Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri. Ahsoka Tano was my great-grandmother. And these are lekku, not hair."

Sam tilted her head back when someone asked if she was okay. Standing there was a Togruta about her age. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just fighting with the Rust Bucket." She rolled over and got to her knees. Her eyes then turned to the knee arrival who asked the young Togruta who she was talking to. Sam didn't recognize the two padawans. Then again she really didn't know a lot of the younger students here, something she had thought about fixing before. Movement outside the ship in the form of Phalsi Drynchen Phalsi Drynchen caught her attention for a moment.

Then a young girl appeared and started talking to Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri Kuxirra Tano-Bonteri . Things about a prophecy or something to do with a holocron. Sam wasn't exactly sure but from what she caught, it was probably something better left to adult or someone better at it than her. Sam got up and plucked the hardened circuit off the floor before tossing it onto a counter. She then turned her attention to where she had pulled the circuit from. Just as she expected, it was covered in rust and corrosion.

‘Chit, Kark ya’ll too then’ Dagos thought to himself as his greeting to Kuxirra was promptly ignored in favor of talking to some kid. Would it have been so hard just to say hello? He doubted it, but whatever.

“Yo Phalsi, what it do?” He said kindly when he noticed the young woman who he had met at the lifeday party not too long ago. The last time they’d spent any time together he had, rather regretfully made an ass of himself, or that’s how it felt. The memory was a little fuzzy.

As he was greeting Phalsi the owner of the ship or at least the person who was fixing it entered his line of sight and WOW. Dagos had been hoping to meet some interesting people here in the shipyard and holy crap was this person interesting.

She looked like she was close to his age, with reddish hair and wonderful blue eyes. But what really caught his attention was the cybernetics. It was more than Dagos had ever seen in his life. Sure he had seen the occasional replaced limb or whatever but nothing as extreme or as badass as what was going on with this girl.

Dagos tried and failed to not stare. “Uh. This rust bucket yours?” he called out to her after realizing just how long he was looking at her.
