The bestselling sci-fi/fantasy author Dave Wolverton/David Garland just died at 64 after a serious fall. You might know him as the writer of Courtship of Princess Leia — the book that introduced the Witches of Dathomir, the Nightsisters, the Hapes Cluster, etc.

Wow, that's so very, very tragic. Courtship was one of my favorite books when I was a teen and just getting into the Star Wars novels for the first time. Grateful for the contributions he made to enrich a galaxy far, far away.

Oh man.. that's so sad. I am online buying a copy of the book (The ORIGINAL COVER) as-we-speak. I haven't read it since I was young. I've gotta pick up some Timothy Zahn novels as well, while I'm here. RIP Dave Wolverton.

My heart is absolutely completely broken. I had the pleasure, along with others, to be able to inquire about the Witches of Dathomir from Dave Wolverton. It was such an honor that I will never forget - or the words he had for me, and for them. I remember when I had a grandfather pass and he offered his condolences. I admired him, and I will be forever grateful for what he has given to Star Wars and for giving birth to the Witches of Dathomir.
