Ride of the Valkyrie

Pilot: Thanith Gumara (Call sign Valkyrie)

Ship: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/83932-vt-interceptor-mki/

Location: Val Tek Headquarters Test Bay 2

Participants: Val Tek engineers, and observers.

Thanith sat in the cockpit of the newly commissioned Interceptor created by Val Tek for use by the Sith Empire. His old friend [member="sabrina"] was the only member of this Empire he had met so far but the pay was good. Plus it let him fly again. He looked over the controls making sure everything was in place before he slipped on the helmet and activated the comms.

"Val Tek control.....Valkyrie." "Initiating start up sequence for mark I test flight Alpha."

One by one he hit the buttons to start up the various systems in the start up sequence. Each mood was methodical and practiced to trying and make sure the ship was in working order before the pilots of the Empire would use it in combat.

She was listening to her old associate, as he talked over the comms. She then gave her orders to him, Remember this is test flight so test it till you need to bail. The ship does not matter you do, though I need to know it's stress levels. Once done I would like you to check over some schematics with me, but for know fly it like it is last time it is going to be flowen. She did not care about the fighter, just the pilot as he had a future. She wanted him to help her build a navy, one fit for the empire. She also wanted him to meet her other naval officers, and that would be later. Work first though, and she would have to go over the data later.

Thanith shook his head. Typical Sith expecting him to die for the cause. Bailing out in space tended to be fatal. Fighters didn't exactly come with escape pods. Once the engines were hot he took off making his way out of the bay at a slow speed. Once he cleared the bay he hit the throttle screaming into the sky and towards orbit.

"Control......Valkyrie approaching checkpoint Alpha."

So far things seemed to be going as planned. The different checkpoints were to test out different things. First was just to make sure the Interceptor would not break apart in the sky. With each successive check point it would get harder until the combat effectiveness was tested and confirmed.

Each detail was being transmitted to the Val Tek engineers to be poured over bit by bit after the test flight was over with.

As [member="Thanith Gumara"] passed each check point her engineers, went over the data. They where compiling it for her to read later, with some of the officers in waiting. She was sure test flight was going to be okay, after all it was sturdy ship, pilot was good. Though she now had to wait for him to finish his test flight, as she waited she was drinking water. Also she watched the latest news, some of it was interesting, but most was uneventful things like the one sith attacking The Republic. She was not sure why that classed as news anymore, she figured it was just normal they did that most Fridays nights. She then called in her senior officers, and o they got over data themselves as it arrives.

Once he reached checkpoint Alpha Thanith throttled the ship back just to more of a Patrol speed. The idea was to see how quickly the ship would respond to the need to go from minimum to maximum speed.

"Valkyrie to Control Checkpoint Alpha reached beginning first test now."

As soon as he finished speaking Thanith jammed the throttle shooting forward making mental notes on how long it took for the engines to kick in and reach Checkpoint Bravo. The math wizards had calculated how long it should take him to get from Alpha to Bravo if everything worked like it was supposed to. Thanith himself had refused the information when they tried to offer it to him saying he didn't need to know. Being in the cockpit and feeling the ships reactions would tell him everything he needed to know.

When he reached Bravo he contacted [member="Sabine Kurtass"] and the others at control again.

"Valkyrie to Control Checkpoint Bravo reached...........seemed off like it took to long to get to the desired speed." "What does it look like on your end?"
