It wasn't really surprising that Aris and Bee stopped as well, rather than leave her behind while she covered their backs. She hadn't even seen it with a vision, but it just wasn't them. Aris would always stay with her, and Bee protected them the way her own parents would as well. She knew, deep down, that Bee would take a shot for them if that's what it took to keep them safe. It made her feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that, but it also made her determined.

Determined to never put herself in a position where he needed to get hurt for her.

Aris then called out his plan, and as soon as Bee created the smoke screen, Vera hugged the wall of the alleyway. The thugs opened fire into the cloud of smoke, but none would even come close. At the same time, Aris charged in, and the second he burst out from the smoke, he'd see a slight shimmer around himself.

A bolt that would have at most grazed him struck another barrier, allowing him to get close without having to deflect a single blaster bolt.

"Bee!" Vera then called out. "We need to find a quick way out of here!" The commotion had sparked attention, perhaps of the wrong and dangerous kind.

But she didn't know the way.

Quickly, faster. He didn't flinch at the shot this time. Vera was going to protect him. Bee was going to protect him. So he needed to protect them in turn. He was quick. Very quick, as he brought his blade through the first once he cleared the smoke. They fell, unconscious, to the ground as he felt another barrier form to catch a shot from the second.

They didn't stand long either.

Aris let out a sigh as he glanced towards Vera and Bee, nodding once. Now was the time to leave. "Let's go."

CONSEQUENCES

He could see the two Nobles, working in tandem, and despite the overwhelming swell of anxiety that urged him to get the kids and run without looking back, a distant part of him knew that they needed to shake their assailants off their trail. BB-610's optic never once left either Noble, staring vigilantly as to make a move the second something went wrong - but he knew nothing would. He trusted both of them.

He had to. He'd been like them, had he not? He'd started off as nothing but an astromech until he was given the chance to grow.

So he gave them that chance, and before he knew it, crackles of energy painted the world around them, the thick smell of ozone lingering in the air. Two bodies met the ground with twin thuds, unconscious at Aris' feet. BB-610 rolled closer to them, the adrenaline of the situation finally beginning to wear off with the danger defused.

The vents on the droid's chassis exhaled gusts of pressurized air, dispersing the smoke that he'd clouded the area in as the thick mist gradually lessened to give way to sight once more. The sound of sirens rang in the far distance, with law enforcement on their way.

BB-610 fired his cable wires, tying both thugs together and tightening its hold with a knot, his body swirling in place to manipulate their binds. Finally, the astromech withdrew, giving one last glance at their handiwork. The trio had done it - police would be on their way. Blasters displayed, briefcase full of illegalities laying limp.

He turned towards Vera and Aris, bweeping softly that he was proud of them.

Their mission was over.

Dorin
Return of the Sages

"What about you? First time weathering Dorin's storms?"

Ah, it is,” Elias admitted with a nod. “Dorin is a bit out of the way from my normal stomping grounds, but I’m thoroughly impressed with the richness of its history.

But I do relate to your pilgrimage, Arch Wilder. On my homeworld, Genetia, we have a similar tradition. The Ala o le fetu - the Star Path - is quite similar… we explore other Force traditions, search for new discoveries to share with our home Temple, and expand our knowledge of the Force through practice and exposure.

The Ala o le fetu was precisely what lead Elias and his fallen friend Tarus Undara Tarus Undara to Bogano years ago. It gave him a deep sense of duty to connect enclaves and praxeums together. It’s what made him come here to Dorin, to the Baran Do Sages. Elias glanced to Vulpesen Vulpesen and smiled.

I’m quite eager to help rebuild this place. I only need to know where to start.

Apologies for the delay! We can continue here or a Private thread, or conclude - whichever you prefer!
