nature/nurture
HISTORY
A lab-grown clone of an ancient Sith pureblood known as Darth Bael, Resh was designed to be the heir of a growing dark side cult within the Core. But in spite of the cult's efforts to indoctrinate the young boy, Resh showed consistent hesitation, conflicted feelings, and distress over his role and the actions they took in his name.
When a Jedi operation laid siege to their hideout, Resh learned the truth: he was merely the latest in a long line of "failed" attempts to clone the mighty Sith Lord, and his creator—Varick—had little qualms about disposing of him just like the rest. The Jedi defeated Varick and the rest of the cult of Bael, and with them Resh cautiously accepted a place in the Order, wanting to do something good with his life, but ever-fearful of his inherent nature.
As he has grown, Resh has stood tall in the face of others' prejudices and expectations, finding solace and success in his training. Most of all, he has discovered a great love of nature, and the creatures which inhabit it have become his most trusted confidants.
APPEARANCE
Once a runt amongst his peers, the late bloomer Resh has sprouted in his teen years, and doesn't seem to be done growing yet. His gentle, unassuming demeanor has yet to catch up with his height, though he carries noticeably more confidence than he did as a youth.
Resh's jet black hair has grown to shoulder length, and the spurs and ridges on his cheeks and chin have become more prominent. His countenance is gaunt and solemn, but lightens up dramatically in the presence of those precious few he is close to.
PERSONALITY
Diligent - Resh takes great care and pride in his responsibilities. Ask Resh to do something, and he will give it his full attention, at risk of missing the forest for the trees.
Temperate - Resh practices great self-restraint and moderation in all things. His willpower is steadfast, though some others may consider him a stick-in-the-mud.
One With Nature - Resh finds serenity in the natural world, and is well-tuned to the plants and animals that dwell beyond civilized borders.
Culture Shock - Resh is always learning new things about the galaxy that he never could have imagined under the thumb of his creators.
Guilty Conscience - Resh carries the weight of his template's villainous deeds, warranted or not. He cannot help but distrust a part of himself.
Jonah Complex - Resh fears his potential to unleash great destruction should he ever falter. Unfortunately, this also keeps him from reaching his potential for greatness.
