“As long as you understand our concern regarding security, we can definitely come to terms on this deal.” Although the bulk of Red Raven shipments were legit, a few of them did fall into the rather grey area especially when it came to pharmachetical or defensive products. Not a few ships had been targetted by hostile parties eager for quick loot, so the last thing Daxton wanted was any security leaks in this regard. The Zabrak patiently waited for the paperwork to be completed so that he could sign them and seal the deal.

[member="Alistair Myre"]

A protocol droid bearing the mark of the Red Ravens approached the booth, in search for information on their products and wares. Should someone entertain it, it would inform them that it was a preliminary assessment to gather information and that a Red Raven would soon be passing by for more in depth inquiries.

A smile graced Cady's face as Tytos stated his willingness to speak with her about business matters. "I'm not sure if you are aware, but the Galactic Shockball League is getting back on its feet. With my mind at the top of the organization, it'll become a household name throughout the galaxy." she began.

She tried her best to appear confident instead of cocky. She didn't want Tytos to see her as some young broad with no business sense and her head in the clouds. "However, to get to the top, I need help. The League has several planets signed under it including Adumar, Eadu, and Mindabaal. I hear that you have some pull on Bakura. If so, I could use your assistance in convincing their government in bringing the GSL to their world." Her sales pitch was a bit lackluster, but she hadn't much time to prepare meeting with others who would be of such potential to help her. "If you aid me, I'll give you a cut off the profits earned by Bakura's team. In fact, I'll name you owner of the team. How does that sound?"

Something tugged at the corner of Tytos' mouth, but whether that was a smirk or a frown could not be discerned. "I see." Arwyn certainly sounded assured of her odds. That kind of arrogance could propel someone very far in this line of work... Very far into a trash compactor, at least. As the First Order's appointed governor to the world, Tytos was in a prime position to make that sales pitch on behalf of the GSL. The only problem was whether or not making that pitch would be worth his time.

The Bakurans would probably eat it up. They were desperate to obtain some kind of cultural relevance in First Order space. Hosting the GSL could give them that much, even if it was a little more low brow than the aristocracy would have liked. Whatever. Wine tasting and art galleries did not bring in revenue. Shockball tickets and merchandise would. The aristocrats and industrialists might have had more money, but the lower classes were more willing to part with it.

"Ownership of the team won't be necessary," he replied. It would not be proper for the planet's governor to have such a prominent stake in the games. Besides, Tytos did not want to be tempted to start rigging games. "I can arrange for you to speak personally with Bakura's Ministry of Culture. Approving the establishment of the GSL would be their purview. I doubt they will decline your proposal."

Not unless she bungled it, or she didn't send Tytos the profits he was promised.

Almost done...oh well, I have no choice but to at least put Daxton's name as the other contracting party... he thought, while finishing the paperwork on this deal with the Red Ravens in duplicate. One copy for him to bring back on Ziost and another copy for [member="Daxton Bane"], and he promptly put his signature on both copies, surprised that anybody - anybody! - would actually have ergonomics in mind when designing a starship bridge or its consoles thereof. The Jawa was still obligated to keep records of every transactions he made, especially those that qualified for contract status, so he eagerly awaited the signature of this deal, which the Xi Charrian didn't understand its need for secrecy, especially with the Xi Charrian volunteering to actually be performing that very project his boss was signing the contract for. Once that was done and over with, he handed the contract to the Zabrak with the Jawa's signature on it. But something isn't right: usually one wouldn't want to sign such a deal for top-secret work in a place as public as this one. Nevertheless, the Jawa was satisfied to get out of this place with at least something to show for it.

"Utinni! That was one quick deal" he exclaimed, with the Jawa handing the paperwork to Daxton.

"Excellent!" Cady exclaimed. "I'll have a contract drawn up as soon as possible and have it sent directly to you, Mr. Ardik." Cady extended her hand to shake Tytos' in order to seal the deal. She then looked over at the booth, inspecting it's contents.

"So, Helix Syndicate. Can't say I'm quite familiar with their work." In truth, she wasn't. She had heard their name spoken once or twice, but she never really looked into them. "What is it you can tell me that you do? Are you weapons manufacturers? A medicinal corporation? I'm very curious to hear about your business dealings, Mr. Ardik."

Tytos smiled weakly. She had just asked him for a political favor and she had no idea what it was his company did for a living. So charming, so adorable. "The Helix Syndicate is primarily a debt buying corporation, Ms. Arwyn. That is, we purchase the rights to outstanding debts from a variety of financial institutions and collect them. We have since branched off into a variety of different, highly lucrative markets throughout the Pentastar Alignment. I'm sure we must have a pamphlet for you to peruse."

Debt buying was a dirty business and no one did it better than the Helix Syndicate. Even as they spoke, small armies of Syndicate Enforcers combed the planets of the Pentastar Alignment, tracking down men and women with delinquent debts and collecting on them. It was always in the debtors' best interests to cooperate, strike a payment plan with the Syndicate. If they couldn't, then the threats, beatings, and repossessions usually were persuasive enough. If that failed, or a debtor was completely incapable of paying, the Helix Syndicate could find a more direct use for them... Like acting as penal labor in one of their mines.

Until the debt was paid off, of course.

That wouldn't be in the pamphlet, though. Just extrapolation on the more family-friendly parts of their diversified portfolio. The casinos, the prisons, the factories, etcetera. One of the booth staff handed a pamphlet to Tytos, who in turn handed it to Cady.

"We also serve as an information brokering service throughout the Pentastar Alignment. The most robust in the region."

So much illegal electronic spying, so little time.

It had seemed that Chikako had been beaten to her target stall by some other woman, one with a clear aura of importance to themselves, "... that woman, who is she... I feel like I should be familiar with them somehow..." Chikako stood still for a moment, seemingly waiting before turning to one of her body guards "That your signal to jump in a say who it is". "Ah ha, sorry my lady, that's [member="Cady Arwyn"], representing Galactic Shock ball if I am not mistaken, quite a popular sport from what I hear". The young Echani clapped her hand together, the small amount of information re sparking her memory, "Ah, yes I remember now.... though why here of all places, and even more so why is she talking with a weapons manufacture like Helix"?

"I am unsure my lady, but if I had to take a guess maybe sponsor ship of a team, many companies use sponsors ship to advertise the name as well as earn money if their team wins, in return more games can be played and thus more money from fans". She knew there was more to it than that, gambling and all sort of not so legal business was involved in the games industry, but her body guards did not need to know she knew that. "So like some sort of two way arrangement hu, interesting.... well it would be rude to but in on their conversation, I guess I'll let them talk things out for now".

The young noble continued to approach the stall but kept a respectable distance, smiling to [member="Tytos Ardik"] and [member="Cady Arwyn"] as they discussed private matter with one another.

Previewing the contract briefly, Daxton signed the contract and the deal was done as this was all part of Daxton’s grand scheme. First of all the ships in question were but a fraction of his fleet of merchantile vessels. Second, anyone bothering to steal a copy of the contract would now receive false assessments on his true strength. Thirdly, the ships in question were all in need of upgrade so the work would actually produce some benefit, or so he hoped. Lastly and most importantly, it served as bait to see who would be interested in looking into his businesses.

Merchantile commerce was quite literally a cut throat business especially along the Outer Rim. Daxton and the Red Ravens controlled their monopoly with an iron fist, so keeping tabs on friends and enemies was just a part of doing business.

Klesta

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
The only reason why the Sith would even want to steal a copy of this contract would be for the purposes of investigating corruption charges; ergonomic assessors usually fell out of the radars of the likes of the FOSB, SIS or other such organizations. He knows how narrow the Sith policy decisions are, and, so long as he stuck to ergonomic assessments, he and his superiors on Ziost have nothing to fear. The Jawa was nevertheless happy with the deal, even though he is puzzled as to why [member="Daxton Bane"] even wanted to seal a deal for top-secret work out in the open. So he could now go back to peddling ergonomic assessments to other clients. Also, however tempting it is for Klesta to go out and try to open a deal with [member="Cady Arwyn"] for getting a GSL franchise for either Ziost or Hosnian Prime, he wonders what benefits and which one is going to be easier to operate a team in, with Adumar, Eadu, Mindabaal and Bakura being part of the league, knowing he can only own one team. With ergonomic seats and facilities for everyone, provided he could build a new stadium. Which, on Ziost, was a necessity, but on Hosnian Prime there was a stadium that could host shockball that he could be able to get a lease for. With that said, he entrusted the booth to the Xi Charrian ergonomic assessor and his protocol droid, while he went up to [member="Cady Arwyn"], while keeping quiet for the time being.

"Interesting." Cady inquired. She had an idea for an additional form of income involving the Galactic Shockball League that would, more than likely, require just the kind of business that the Helix Syndicate was selling. "So, when there's low lives who can't pay their debts, you are the ones people call to uh ... persuade them to pay up."

A smirk grew on Cady's face. "I apologize for barraging you with my dealings, Mr. Ardik, it's just that I want to see my business thrive. I treat it as my own child. My own flesh and blood. I would like to see it grow into something big and famous." Cady was a bit of a sucker for the dramatic. She liked to put on a show when she spoke. It kept people engaged and listening to her as she rambled.

"On that note, Mr. Ardik. I have another proposition for you." she began. "The details will have to be discussed in private, but I would like to acquire the Syndicates services in the near future. I will have need of your talents for a special project I am planning. I want nothing but the best and you seem to have it, Mr. Ardik."

Druckenwell was not what she thought it would be.

Srina walked through the busy Trade Convention with curious eyes, each booth causing her to linger, especially if she saw a familiar face behind it. The pale apprentice had no designs on securing a contract, but it was quite possible that her Master, Darth Metus, and the Vicelord of the Confederacy, did. There had been some mention of meeting someone by the name of [member="Tytos Ardik"], but she didn’t know all of the details and hadn’t asked. She moved at his side as she had at the Golbah Games, at the parties at the Silver Rest, and any other socio-diplomatic gathering they had ever attended. Early on, the dreadlocked man had offered her his arm, and she had obliged without thought.

Things had been…Interesting…as of late. The apprentice had fought with her Master, verbally, perhaps for the first time, within the bowels of Sinner’s Well on Ryloth. It had been an experience she was unable to forget. In that regard, it had placed a certain amount of strain on their usually unassailable connection. Things were getting better, however, true repairs to the damage done would take faith and time.

The flaxen-haired Echani stopped by the booth for the Galactic Shockball League, the large holos of the players, and the sheer amount of sophistication peaking her interest.

“Master…What is Shockball?”, she questioned slowly as clips of what appeared to be a sport played before her eyes. Srina couldn’t quite make sense of it. It seemed a rather senseless thing, with players vying to stun each other with a ball, in order to win. “…They willingly play a game where the goal is to…”

“…Leave one another unconscious?”

Srina was very confused, but the booth seemed to be attracting a lot of attention, so figured there must be something about it that she didn’t grasp. It wouldn’t be the first time. If anything, it looked like an effective training simulation, versus a game made for friends, and family fun. She would be willing to try it out if it meant that it would assist with her reflexes and spatial awareness. Perhaps they could try the virtual reality version before they left, though, she was hardly dressed for it.

To be blunt, the little Echani glittered. She wore a blood red dress that was form fitting and bespeckled tastefully with black jewels. Srina rarely thought about what she wore for events like these, and let Darth Metus’s attendant droids, or [member="Er'in Tenel"] choose for her. Her footwear was impractical, in a way she didn’t like, but it was rather appealing being a few inches taller. Her weapons had been left behind. All, save for a tiny, seemingly unremarkable, ring of silver on her left hand.

She moved fluidly, gracefully, with perfect posture. There was no room in her expression for anything other than the cultured standing of an educated and refined woman. Nothing about her gave way to her status as a warrior, or a fighter, or anything that would have raised a brow in a world full of business owners and entrepreneurs. In truth, she was learning, and this event gave her an even wider view of the galaxy, offering glimpses and insight into a field she didn't know. Eventually, she spotted the booth for the Helix Syndicate and she noted that they seemed to be a little tied up with a lovely cinnamon haired woman. Instead of barging over, Srina merely turned to her Master with the intention of waiting patiently and inquired about the state of his own company.

“Did you also have a booth set up for Verd Industries?”

If he had, she hadn’t seen it yet, but that didn’t mean anything. The Convention seemed to be a large undertaking and there was much she hadn’t seen. There was another name floating around in the ether, [member="Alistair Myre"], who owned the space station that was orbiting Druckenwell. There had been word that he had been looking to deal with the Confederacy and for the most part, the Vicelord seemed open to it, they merely needed to make contact.

"Something like that, yes," Tytos replied, attentive as ever to Cady's speech.

If he was at all disturbed by Cady referring to the Galactic Shockball League as her 'child', it did not register across his features. Strictly speaking, that sort of attachment to a business was something he liked to avoid - both in himself and others. Sentiment clouds judgement and gets in the way of good progress. Sentiment got exploited. Treating a source of revenue as anything other than a source of revenue was never good for long term productivity.

He'd keep all this in mind during their future dealings.

Tytos retrieved his personal business card from the inside of his jacket pocket and presented it for Lady Arwyn to take. "We'll be happy to render assistance in any way we can. Contact me at your leisure and we can arrange a more personal meeting."

[member="Cady Arwyn"]

Druckenwell was not Er'in's idea of an interesting time - if there was one thing duller than politics, it was corporate politics and arms manufacturing. Well, maybe not the actual manufacturing bit, at least not when it came to ships and other things that went fast.

She'd hung around the main stalls for a while, chatting to the salespeople and admiring their booth entities - she really wasn't sure about the number of Twi'lek this year, but at least she could be certain none were slaves. It was demeaning to either gender and beneath the companies, but... needs must as the bottom line drives, she supposed, and sex of any race or gender certainly sold. But no, Twi'lek were definitely in.

Which wasn't a bad thing, it was the pretty young thing that had caught her eye and gotten her into an animated conversation with one of the local minor suppliers about solar sail-based transport, something no one else in the world seemed interested in. So she'd thrown the company a bone and hired it to produce her another yacht. But that had given her ideas, with the right alchemy and the right site you could do a great deal... could a sail catch the Force present in the solar winds?

But she could hardly have that discussion with the poor man, he'd freak out if she started talking Sith Blood Alchemy, and a sail would need a lot of blood - and she had yet to graduate to the sacrificing sentients level of corruption Metus was reputedly at.

So pleasure gave way to business, and her business here was very archaic indeed. She was sat alone in a sealed, locked conference room with the blinds down, sat cross-legged across the glass topped table surrounded by deeply disturbing looking occult paraphernalia as she belt gently into a bowl which sat atop a heater, breathing in the steam of her own vitae.
"Nu visita sh'jatau tave midwan iv dalin,
Nu visita sh'jatau tave midwan iv tave ateitis,
Kia tave qy, nu aukoti nuyak kraujas,
Sulig tave qy, nu vykti midwan,
Sulig nuyak midwan ir nuyak valia, nu dotacij mus dalin,
Sulig nuyak midwan ir nuyak valia, nu aukoti mus our ateitis,
Nu apgamas sis aikste su nuyak ruonis,
Nuyak valia buti dinora."
The air was hot, heavy and close with the oppressive sense of the dark side and the stink of the Force as she wove into a charm of blessing - she did not ask the spirits or the Force for it's blessing, she was Sith, the Force was power. She took it and she used it.

It wasn't a grand working - it couldn't change the fortune of whole planets, but it didn't have to - a little nudge on the scales of fate in their favour here and now and the whole planet would prosper, all in return for a little of her blood...

... well, that and the blood of the pre-sentient ape with it's chest ripped open with a sacrificial knife on the table before her. Animals didn't count, but the more a creature could feel and think, the more power it's sacrifice made. Maybe Metus had a point about convicted criminals.

It was...oddly...satisfying to set foot upon Druckenwell.

Years ago, when Darth Metus was but a budding alchemist, the planet was a jewel within the first Confederacy. For as long as he could remember, Druckenwell was the beating heart of the nation's naval power...but that all came to a swift and abrupt end. Its Shipyards were lost. Its holdings were devastated. And for a time, despite his being hundreds of light-years away, the old regime blamed Darth Metus. They villified him - slandering his name and razing his home to the dirt. They took from him everything and forced him into exile. Yet now...despite the deception...despite the pain, the Sith had returned.

And the one who was wrongfully blamed for their plight now worked to liberate them.

The Trade Convention sprawled out before Darth Metus and the woman who strolled beside him, [member="Srina Talon"]. Typically...things would not have felt as they did. Although her arm was laced through his own, it felt as though she were quite some distance away. Their spirited conversation within his personal residence had put a strain on their relationship - one that would not recover overnight. And while, professionally, the unified front was there...the effortlessness of their Bond was lacking. For the Sith, it felt like walking on eggshells. For the Apprentice, it felt like a persistent, nagging doubt.

Time would, heal this wound. Hopefully.

In the here and now, the curiosity of the Echani saw the pair gravitate towards a rather vibrant display. Shockball. "It's quite the pastime." came the response to her question. "And it's more than leaving the opponents unconsious. You see..." One Too-Long, Didn't-Read explanation later, and the Echani would find herself armed with a very basic understanding of how the sport worked. Although, she would probably be more confused now than she was at the outset. Regardless, the pair soon moved on from the display and made their way ever forward - this time heading towards the Helix Syndicate Booth.

Which was the object of Darth Metus' business for the afternoon. To say that the Syndicate was exceptional at what it did was an understatement; and frankly, the Sith was very interested in a particular commodity that they offered. For this reason had he sought out [member="Tytos Ardik"] specifically and made certain to meet up with him this day. Upon drawing near to the businessman, the pair soon found that he was occupied with an ongoing conversation. And, unlike knuckle-draggers with no decorum, the two indulged in one another until Tytos was available to speak.

"No." came his simple answer to the question regarding House Verd, Incorporated. "My efforts were focused on getting the Convention up and running. We had large stake in the original Druckenwell Shipyards so there's no doubt in my mind that we won't be able to renew our old agreements once the dust has settled." Taking a look about, he then asked: "See anything you like?"

[member="Srina Talon"], [member="Tytos Ardik"], [member="Cady Arwyn"]

Srina listened intently while her Master explained Shockball. Her lips quirked just slightly to the side while her Master went on, at great length, about a sport she didn’t particularly understand. Still…He seemed rather interested in the finer points and she did her best to hold on to the details. “Right…”, she agreed smoothly, the simplicity of her statement showing interest, but not enough that she felt the need to ask more questions. She would look up the specifics on the HoloNet later.

“I stand corrected. It’s definitely about more than just leaving opponents unconscious.”

No, no it wasn’t. Srina excelled in knocking people out. With the aid of an electronically charged ball? It almost seemed too easy—like shooting fish in a barrel.

They eventually moved on from the flashy Shockball booth and continued to observe other vendors. There were all sorts of things available, from weaponry, to clothing, to upgraded auto-chef units for starships so that passengers could enjoy the comforts of home without sacrificing home cooked meals. Srina was at least a little bit interested in that. Her own culinary prowess was absolutely disastrous. The cookies that she had made and taken with them for a Silver Jedi event was proof of this. She was surprised her Master had any teeth left.

While they waited for the representative from the Helix Syndicate to finish his dealings with the cinnamon-haired woman, Srina let silvery eyes wander, while listening to his choices in regards to Verd Industries. Her eyes narrowed, briefly, when she realized that there was a vendor selling onesies, designed for sleeping, that looked like stormtrooper armor. The same booth was also selling ice makers that made cubes in the shape of Mythosaur heads. Ridiculous. “I hope you’re correct. Some of these merchants seem to be selling…”, she exhaled slowly, trying to find an eloquent word for it. “Junk.”

So much for eloquent. She shifted, and blood red silks swayed about her ankles, onyx gems catching the light. There was only so much shopping she could do before she began to feel a little antsy. Srina was used to the battlefield, she was used to training, and pushing herself to the limit. She was even getting used to the diplomatic meetings the Vicelord frequently attended. It was difficult to remain in high spirits in a place where sleeping rolls, were not made of Tauntaun’s, but simply shaped to look like them. There was a line a mile long at that one… Who knew they were in such high demand?

There was a booth selling custom speeders that caught her attention. The Q3-R speeders that were stored on the Ferocity were nice, but, they could always use some improvements. “What do you think of these?”, she questioned, tugging him gently toward the brightly colored machines. She wouldn’t want to delay him from his business with the Helix Syndicate but since [member="Tytos Ardik"] was tied up there didn’t seem to be any harm.

“You wouldn’t mind if we replaced the ones in the Ferocity would you?”

[member="Darth Metus"] | [member="Tytos Ardik"] | [member="Cady Arwyn"]

Cady smiled as she gently retrieved the business card from Tytos. "Thank you, Mr. Ardik. You'll be receiving a call from my people within a few weeks to set things up." She turned to walk away but stopped as she laid eyes on a silver-haired woman walking with an ebony-skinned male. She offered them a smile and greeted them.

"Ah, hello, conventioners. Welcome. Be sure to deeply partake in the Helix Syndicates wares. They've certainly have everything your heart could need." Cady added a bit of pizzazz to Tytos' showcase, wanting to draw a bit more attention to it. "Also, be sure to check out the Galactic Shockball League's booth. We'll be coming to a planet near you so get ahead of the game by learning the game." Cady strutted off back towards her booth to speak with patrons waiting to speak with the commissioner.

The King of Ergonomic Assessments
And now Klesta returned to his booth so that he could continue peddling ergonomic assessments; with a deal having been closed here, Klesta knew that, more than ever, the potential clients were mostly companies who had their share of workplace health and safety issues. He knew as hell that ergonomic assessments might be expensive, but if they had major WH&S issues, it may well be worth the cost. The Jawa knew that the main value proposition of an ergonomic assessment was to keep employees healthy and safe - but that he couldn't market ergonomic assessments the way one would market a shockball team (such as the Hosnian Prime Venomous Agendas), and not simply because B2B marketing was different on some levels from marketing to a more general public. Maybe Ziost could refine the marketing channels a little bit for the ergonomic assessment streams; while, of course, the Sith turn a blind eye to the ergonomic assessment business, riding one wave too long can be a problem if we don't ride another one in time, he thought, while making its request for proposals to the people at the HQ on Ziost.

"Utinni, ergonomic assessments as you never got them before!"

"I'll be looking forward to it," he said, probably meaning it. Once Tytos saw some estimates on what returns an investment would bring, well, then maybe he would look forward to it.

It was fortunate Cady turned away from him when she started touting the Syndicate booth to everyone who happened to be nearby. Otherwise she might have seen his momentarily perplexed countenance. Frankly, Tytos wasn't sure if the Helix Syndicate fit the bill for 'everything your heart could need.' Especially given that their two primary exports were shattered kneecaps and repossession work. Whatever. A little advertisement could go a long way. There was no shortage of people desperate enough for money that they were willing to have it lent to them by a preternaturally violent debt collecting company. What could go wrong?

Everything, pretty much.

Tytos had noticed that Darth Metus had finally arrived within sight, only to be led off in another direction by the woman at his arm. One could imagine the Umbaran's chagrin, but at least it gave him time to address another party who had been waiting patiently: the Echani girl he had seen earlier. The loud one with the escort. She had apparently been waiting quite patiently nearby and Tytos was somewhat curious as to what she could want from him. "Is there something you need, miss...?"

This would hopefully be important.

While waiting for her turn to speak with the Helix representative Chikako kept her eyes out for any noticeable people entering the large hall, the silver coloured receptors picking through the individuals snaking their way around the floor. [member="Daxton Bane"] was a surprising attendee, from what she knew the Sith Lord was not very talkative making their presence here rather odd, not that it was any of her business what others did with their time.

The next and newly arrived people of interests was the dreaded dark Lord [member="Darth Metus"] himself, accompanied by fellow noble and Echani [member="Srina Talon"], who from what she knew was the Siths apprentice and all. The two seemed to never go anywhere without each other, almost to the point of looking married to the untrained/unknowing eye, "He he, those two would make a nice couple, but I do not think something like that will happen".

Soon the sound of foots steps clinking close by diverted her attention away from the other patrons, [member="Cady Arwyn"] seeming to have finished her business with the Helix people, returning to her own booth, allowing the young woman a chance to approach the booth herself.

Tytos Ardik said:
"Is there something you need, miss...?"

Chikako gave the man a sweat smile, follow by a small curtsy, "Why hello there my good sir, my name I Chikako Liona, I am here to inquire about your military wares as it has come to my attention that your company has owner ship of several small enterprises that produce weapons, craft and other... Items". Her tone of voice was childlike and innocent, but at the same time had a hint of something sinister to it.

Indeed it was a rare sight to see Daxton Bane outside the field of battle, rarer still without his signature reflective face plate, but the Zabrak seemed to enjoying himself. Pausing to speak with several merchants, bantering good naturedly about soem recent projects or about their families. In fact, nothing about his demeanor indicated that he was one of the deadliest duelists in the galaxy today.

Only the most trained eye would spot the subtle clues, how Bane’s eyes wandered restlessly over the crowd, trying to assess for threats, both familiar and unknown. The unconscious flexing of fingers, almost anticipating reaching for the hilt of his blades. Daxton was ready for trouble, the only thing was it would be coming from the direction that even he was not expecting.....
