Valery drew in a deep breath and adjusted her leather jacket, as she looked at the entrance of the cantina. She had a blaster pistol strapped to her belt despite not really being good with one, but it was all to play the part of someone, not Force-sensitive. In reality, the Jedi Master had kept her presence in the Force concealed, and her lightsaber hidden within the jacket to make sure she didn't stand out among the criminals and civilians here.

She had just wrapped up an artifact recovery mission to take a talisman long lost to the Sith. But after purging and taking it, trouble came looking for her — she wasn't sure if those people were sent by a Sith, a Dark Jedi or if they worked on their own, but they wanted what she had taken. Perhaps they were interested in selling it on the black market, which is the reason Valery had gone after it, but there was the chance they were hoping to use it for something more sinister as well. Either way, the amulet was weakened and in her hands, so she could completely purge it later.

But first, she needed a way off this world because while the attackers had failed in killing her, they had blown up her escape shuttle.

...

"One whiskey, please," Valery asked the bartender. She didn't actually like whiskey, but she doubted they had anything she actually enjoyed here. So she just kept playing the part of a tough-looking biker girl, but one in desperate need of a decent pilot or smuggler. It was only a matter of time before the attackers would find her, so she quickly turned around to lean against the bar, and looked through the cantina.

There had to be someone with a ship willing to give her a ride here.

Another day, another small fry, no name bounty collected. Cyran has been pretty hard at work lately. Needing to himself afloat, keeping his ships from being repoed, and looking after an apprentice. All that has kept him extra busy, and it was getting to be the time of year again where he’d need to renew some of his bounty hunting licenses. Now it seemed like the Hutts were gaining some measure of independence so he might need to get registered with them as well. Such was the life of a modern freelancer in the galaxy.

Stepping into the cantina, just from his body language Cyran had a tired look to him. He took off his visored mask and carried it with him to the bar. Placing it on the counter with him next to a woman who had the appearance of a typical smuggler. Though she felt a little off. After the bartender got her drink Cyran asked for his. “Umm, an Outer Rim please…” He asked, seeing how he would feel able to drink more or not later since it was always easy for a zeltron to blow a bunch of money on booze with their second livers.

After getting his glass, and without even looking Cyran could sense there was something off about the woman next to him. He couldn’t sense or force sensitivity, that was out of his realm of possibilities. But that emotional telepathy of his allowed him to get the feeling she was rather tense about something. He would share a few words.
"Hey, I uh, know it’s likely none of my business. But you seem like you’ve gotten on the bad side of a Hutt or something, just seem a little on edge.” Typical zeltron, trying to weed out negative vibes wherever he can find them. Though he was also expecting to get told off by her since it likely was of no concern of his.

When the Zeltron stepped up beside her at the bar and ordered his drink, Valery paid little attention to him — she figured he was here to get drunk after a long day, and she had no time to make idle conversation. She was looking for a way out of this place, and so her eyes were fixed on the types who seemed like they could get that job done. But then the man spoke, and his words caught her attention.

"Hey, I uh, know it's likely none of my business. But you seem like you've gotten on the bad side of a Hutt or something, just seem a little on edge."

Valery turned her fiery eyes to him and raised an eyebrow, but her brief moment of confusion quickly faded. He was a Zeltron, so it wasn't strange that he had picked up on her underlying emotions, "Something like that," she said as she raised the glass of whiskey to her lips for a quick sip. It tasted awful, and she felt her throat burn, but it didn't show in her expression or behavior that she felt disgusted by it.

"I do need a way off this wasteland, and I'm willing to pay for it. You know someone who can help?" Right now, she didn't want to share too many details yet, but if he was willing to help her out, she would likely trust him with more. She only needed to be careful — if he suspected there to be a price on her head, he could just as easily turn against her as well.

After she seemed to hear what he said he raised his glass to his lips. Firstly tasting the salted rim of the glass before the warmth of the cocktail flowed past his mouth. Since it didn’t seem like she was upset at his statement he looked over at her. She looked rather Familiar, but then again Cyran was no stranger to pretty ladies.

Listening to her explain what she needed he raised the glass back to his mouth for another sip. Raising an eyebrow at the mention payment he asked, “Got a particular destination in mind, I got a ship, not really a speed demon but she’ll get you to where you need. So to answer your question, yes I do know someone who can help, and that someone is me.” Cyran offered to serve her in getting off world with a charming smile.. Finishing his beverage he scooted the glass aside. From what little the zeltron knew he wondered if she needed to leave because she was in danger or not.

Perhaps helping her out was a risky move and he just didn’t realize it yet. But then again it was unlike him to not help a woman in need, like a true gentleman. He infrequently had ill intentions, especially for a bounty hunter. “So what do you say, Miss… um…?” He hadn’t actually learned her name yet. Cyran wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t wanna take his offer. Transporting passengers was not really his specialization, but it was likely not all the different from transporting fugitives in all honesty.

"You're willing to help, hm?" she asked, a brow of her own raised for a moment as she studied him. But rather quickly, a warm, charismatic smile of her own flashed through as well. She hadn't told him much and he was already offering his assistance, so she wasn't too skeptical about it. His intentions through the Force also didn't feel malicious, so it was time she placed some trust in him as well.

"There's nowhere in particular I have to go to, just away from here," Valery said before she raised the glass of whiskey to her lips, only to bring it back down immediately. It was just too terrible to keep drinking it. "Ran into some trouble, and I'd prefer not to get captured or killed on a planet like this."

She was quite sure he'd understand that sentiment.

"So what do you say, Miss… um…?"

"Valery, just call me Valery," she said with a smile. She could offer her last name later if more trust was developed, but right now he didn't really need it. This way her status as a Jedi was a lot more secured too. "How much do you-" She was about to ask for his price when her attention was drawn to the entrance of the cantina. A few heavily armed thugs stepped inside and began looking around for someone within the crowd, and Cyran would likely notice the woman's orange eyes briefly widen.

"Crap..."

Cyran nodded along to her words, understanding where he was getting at. Seeing her struggle to finish her drinks he thought was a little interesting too. Piecing together this idea of the woman before him. Like she was more so putting on an act of a down on her luck smuggler, like a costume. Finding that idea rather interesting.

Then she gave her name, at least her first name. “Nice to meet you Valery, I’m Cyran, Cyran Vaas.” Maybe if she was familiar with bounty hunting circles she would know that name, but if not that it was likely new to her. When she was about to ask about prices she cut herself off. Seemingly rather concerned about the arrival of some rough looking fellas. Local klatooinian, likely Hutt henchmen, or worse. Cyran surmised that there was a good chance they were after Valery for whatever reason. Looking back at her he spoke more quietly. “Don’t worry about payment right now.”

It seemed to Cyran like he was going to be helping a fugitive rather than capturing one. Sort of the opposite of his job description. He quickly came up with a plan to get her out and avoid conflict, he just hoped she was willing to play along and had some acting experience. “Here follow my lead.” He said as grabbed his mask, and got off his barstool before offering his free hand for her to take. “We’re just another cute couple.” He said with a smirk seeing if they can sneak based on deception rather than stealth. He believed she was already putting on an act so he figured it shouldn't be too hard. If she followed along he would wrap his arm over her shoulder and would make their way out of the cantina.

"Don't worry about payment right now."

Valery raised an eyebrow at his words — it wasn't really the offer she'd expect from people on planets like this, but she could feel that his intentions weren't malicious. Perhaps that only added to her confusion, but right now she didn't care about any of it. Escape from the planet was her priority, and she was going to have to place her trust in someone else at some point.

This seemed like the right time.

"Here follow my lead."

She looked at the hand he extended and when his plan became clear, there was a brief hint of a death glare in her fiery eyes. But she had no better idea, so she jumped off the stool without taking the hand, and played the part. "Fine..." Her smile then brightened, her posture relaxed and with an arm around her shoulders, she followed his lead to move past the group of thugs, who began moving through the cantina with weapons in their hands. It drew the eyes of other patrons, but nobody wanted to start any trouble with an entire group like this.

The two then walked past the first thugs, and none of them did anything. Nods were exchanged and as they neared the exit, it seemed like they were going to get out just fine. But then a voice called out.

"Wait, you idiots!" the apparent leader of the group called out as he raised a pistol. It aimed for Valery's back but his shot was a tad high and struck the wall above the two.

"There goes our cover!" Valery exclaimed, "We gotta run!"

That was surely an understatement — all thugs now turned for them and none were afraid to open fire in a crowded area.

Cyran wasn’t really too thrilled himself having to play the role of a scoundrel boyfriend just to get out of a cantina. It wasn’t the supposed leader called out to their lackeys Cyran tensed up some, hoping to have avoided conflict, he also just felt lucky that Valery wasn’t yet shot in the back of the head by a blaster. Hearing Valery’s words he replied. “Hurry to the spaceport close by, I’ll be right behind you!” He exclaimed before removing his arm around her.

He quickly activated the small energy shield from his vambrace. Shielding another blaster bolt that likely would have hit her in the back. Cyran needed to make sure that these folks couldn’t follow them. Hoping that Valery would rush out of the cantina Cyran spun around, and drew his blaster pistol. His visor’s targeting computer linking up with the weapon and his targets for assisted aim. With his blaster pointed into the cantina followed by a click as he turned off the safety and fired. The automatic weapon firing a rapid hail of blue energy rungs. Across the room into the thugs. With the assist he made surprisingly quick work of the klatooinians. Having used the stun setting on his blaster pistol to leave them all unconscious, Cyran didn’t use lethal force. He also managed to not hit any of the patrons or employees as well.

His blaster’s barrel hissed with heat, from the large amount of energy it just discharged. Now finally he would rush out along with Valery. “My ship’s not too far, but we can’t dilly dally now, not if more are likely to show up.” Cyran was surprised that they didn’t even want her captured, they went straight for the kill with her. He kinda hoped he hadn’t made a mistake with taking her side here.

Somewhere deep down, Valery felt terrible about the situation — if she drew her lightsaber and used the Force, these attackers wouldn't be a problem to deal with whatsoever. But because she couldn't do that to maintain her cover, a stranger now had to risk his life just for her to escape. She wasn't entirely comfortable with it, so she planned to make sure he was rewarded greatly for this.

"Hurry to the spaceport close by, I'll be right behind you!"

"Stay safe!" she called out, as she sprinted out of the cantina. And while she couldn't see what was happening behind her, she felt the attackers dropping one by one rather swiftly, so it seemed she had underestimated the Zeltron a little. But while he took care of those goons, Valery ran into a little trouble as well — a single guard was left at the entrance to make sure nobody could escape, and he immediately opened fire the second she stepped outside.

With Cyran not able to see her, she drew on the Force only to quickly move aside, but the blaster bolt still grazed her hip, causing her to yelp from the pain. But in that instant, she drew her own pistol as well and sent him to the floor with a stun round. She wasn't a good shot at all but at such close range, even Valery could hit her mark.

"My ship's not too far, but we can't dilly dally now, not if more are likely to show up."

"There will be more, and they want us both dead now," Valery said in return as she continued the dash for the spaceport. People in the streets were running for their own lives in all the chaos, and they quickly spotted more of those thugs coming after them. "Got any more of those tricks?" Valery asked as she reached the entrance of the port.

By the time Cyran rushed outside Valery had already taken care of the last thug in this particular group. Fortunately she still seemed okay despite her pained yelp, and grazed wound that they would need to treat as soon as they could. As they made their way to the spaceport. She explained how he was likely to meet a similar deadly fate to her if the thugs got their way.

They reached the space port entrance. Where they were quickly surrounded in a semi circle around the entrance. It was six on two and they seemed to have the advantage. But they weren’t impossible odds. The pursuers raised their weapons and aimed them on the duo. Hearing Valery’s words Cyran simply replied, “Uh kinda” Before quickly getting in the way between the thugs. He took a wide study stance and held his arms out at them with clenched fists before a series of POPs and BOOMs followed as his gauntlet and knee pad dart casters erupted.

Cyran had them target the six Klatooinians. Two darts from each knee and one from each gauntlet, as the temporary paralyzing agents were shot into them all at once. But the chemical agents weren’t instantaneous and they got a few shots off of their own at Cyran. Getting hit in the chest by three blaster bolts. Which knocked him back into Valery some and he slumped down. Groaning in pain some, Fortunately he wasn’t dead, but he would be pretty sore for the next week or so now. Though it was virtually invisible Cyran was wearing a beskar, it being expertly interwoven in a mesh rather than metal plates. “I-I think that’ll buy us some time. Hopefully there isn’t more.”

"Uh kinda"

That was all she needed to hear. The moment Cyran stopped and turned around, Valery halted as well and remained behind him. It again made her feel uncomfortable because she was using him as a literal shield, but he seemed to have it covered. Darts flew out from his gear and struck the group of attackers coming for them. But in this clash, he took a shot that sent him stumbling back.

Not sure whether or not he had any protective armor, Valery watched with widened eyes and stepped forward to catch him, right as the attackers began to crumble to the ground from whatever it was the dart had injected into them. Her arms slipped underneath his shoulders and for as long as he needed it, she'd keep him up.

"Come on, no time to sit down now... we gotta move," she said while she did her best to get him up to his feet. If she managed, she'd tug him along and run into the spaceport, where she finally did allow him to take the lead again. Valery had no idea where his ship was, so she let him lead the way and prepared herself to answer the questions he likely had whenever they would reach relative safety.

Cyran let out a pained sigh as she helped him back up onto his feet. “T-Thanks, oof that stung. Moments like this remind me why I should invest in proper beskar armor.” He said as he went with her to where his ship was docked.

When they arrived where it was stationed he was worried Valery might cast some doubt on it. Since it wasn’t really subtle. It was a YT-2400 light freighter, however, it had a rather ‘unique’ paint job. The hull was covered in hot pink pants. Not really the most standard spacer color scheme. But Cyran liked it and it reflected his zeltron heritage. Looking back to Valery he spoke, “Here, she is, The Rose.” Rolling around by the loading ramp was an astromech droid. When it saw Valery and Cyran approaching, both of whom looking pretty worn out it made some chirps and whistles. Commenting on how terrible he looked and that he hoped he wasn’t risking his life for some new girlfriend.

Cyran quickly dismissed the pesky droid and ordered R4P4 to go get the ship ready for lift off. Acknowledging the command the droid rolled up into the ship to get things ready. Going into the ship with Valery, Cyran closed up the loading ramp behind them as the engine began to start. Despite the ship’s age, the interior was well maintained, at least with its appearance, with many clean reflective surfaces. From over where the cockpit was, P4 beeped a question for Cyran, asking where they were heading. “Just uh, space for now we’re working on that.” Taking off his mask he would lead Valery over to the common room where he took a seat. Slouching in the chair and letting out a tired sigh. “I’m not really one to give out surprise fees, but that whole stunt we pulled might cost ya extra, hehe.” He said with a smirk and slight chuckle.

Seeing her hip where she got grazed with a blaster bolt he continued. “Why don’t you look down, maybe see if I got any bacta spray for your hip there.” He said pointing to her wound. He figured then they could possibly talk about what in the world just happened.

"Beskar armor is heavy, clunky, and hard to get — you're fine," she chuckled and followed him into the spaceport, where they ran into his ship in the hangar area he had hired. It was an older model but that was something Valery could actually appreciate. The only thing that stood out was its color scheme, but it also made her realize that she was dealing with a Zeltron again.

"Nice ship you got there," the woman said as they moved around to the loading ramp, only to run into his astromech. Having had many of these little droids herself, Valery understood exactly what it said and looked at Cyran with a tilt of her head, but she made no comment yet. It did make her wonder why exactly it was that he had chosen to help her...

The two then moved inside and after looking around for a few seconds, she joined him in the common room and sat down,
"Yeah I don't blame you, just name your price and I'll get it sorted," she smiled somewhat awkwardly and looked down at the exposed skin at her hip. It was slightly burned from the hit she took, but nothing too serious. "I'll get it patched up in a moment but I first owe you an explanation."

Valery took a deep breath, pursed her lips forward, and took a moment to think about how to even begin, "I'm Valery Noble," she then said, not sure whether or not he'd recognize her name at all. "I'm a Jedi Master. I was here for an undercover mission that got a little too hot." The woman then reached into her jacket and showed the hilt of her lightsaber.

"I couldn't risk blowing my cover out there... I'm sorry I'm only telling you now."

By now the light freighter was beginning to take off and was leaving the space port. He thought for a moment when she said for him to name his price. But then she mentioned how she owed him an explanation. He was rather interested in what she had to say. Cyran made plenty of enemies in his life from the fugitives he has thwarted in his career but nothing came of it like what was going on her it seemed. She must’ve really upset the wrong person.

When she gave her full name it did sound a little familiar. But he couldn’t really put a name or reputation behind it. But then she explained that she was a Jedi master in some undercover job. This led Cyran to facepalm himself in anguish. He understood why she didn’t bring that up sooner but he still was in no way thrilled about this news. “Hmm…” Cyran thought to himself out loud. Wonder what he just got himself wrapped up into. From his knowledge folks like Jedi, Sith, or whatever else were well above his pay grade. They all seemed to have some pretty destructive rivalries that he definitely didn’t wanna be any part in.

He gave her a skeptical look, “Well no wonder I had the feeling you were a lousy smuggler” He joked. Taking a deep breath he thought about what questions he should ask if any. Or would knowing more about her be something of an info hazard for him? Did she possibly have a bounty on her head? Very likely, but the only people he thought would have a bounty on her were those Maw weirdos in the unknown region, and he never did business with them. Cyran had always felt like meddling with the force users spelt doom for the more common folk of the galaxy like him. Also he didn’t really know what she was capable of, could she be reading his mind right now? He one time heard a story about a Jedi that turned a poor guy into a frog, could she do that too?

All in all Cyran was woefully unfamiliar with the Jedi, The Force, and all that stuff. He felt that in the end why should he, The Force to someone like him was a mysterious, intangible eldritch horror. Shaking his head he tried not to think about that too much. Letting out a sigh he finally spoke. “Well, lucky for you Miss Noble I am a professional, with standard, and a reputation to uphold.” Both for himself and freelance spacers in general. “I offered my services, and have no intention of quitting this job of getting you where you need to be. Even if we’re not under some sort of contract.” He said as he straightened up in his seat and leaned forwards a bit.

A moment later R4P4 rolled into the room with them. One of their thin mechanical arms holding a little spray can look like an item. Speaking to them in droidspeak. ||“I overheard someone got hurt, so I wanted to come over with some bacta spray…”|| The helpful droid explained. Placing the spray on a low table between them P4 looked back over to Cyran. ||"Are you looking to add her to our blossoming crew too like Race and Takumi?"|| The astromech asked. Referring to Cyran's new mechanic and apprentice.

Cyran shook his head, "Nah sorry, no new crew members today."

"Hmm…"

Valery watched him closely, not because she was afraid he'd get hostile, but because she hoped the revelation would not upset him so much that she'd be asked to leave his ship. It was certainly a possibility with the conflict she felt within the man, but luckily, he seemed to brighten up after a few seconds of contemplation and even joked around with her.

"Was it that obvious?" she asked with a chuckle while he gave the situation he was in some more thought.

"I offered my services, and have no intention of quitting this job of getting you where you need to be. Even if we're not under some sort of contract."

Valery dipped her head lightly to show the gratitude she felt, as well as the relief, "I appreciate it and again, I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier. The job I came here for was quite... dangerous," the woman said before she removed an item from her jacket that was covered in some strange type of wrapping. "This is a dark side amulet, capable of turning people completely insane — especially those who can't shield their minds through the Force. The wrapping interferes with the effect, but it's not something most people are aware of. My mission was to make sure it wouldn't fall in the wrong hands or end up on the black market."

She put it away again to make sure it couldn't get compromised and let out a soft breath, "I plan to take it somewhere special for storage, so it can't cause anybody harm. I can't ask you to take me there, because it's not exactly a safe place to be, but I would be very happy if you could drop me off somewhere in GA space at the very least," she tried a more pleading smile, hoping she could persuade him a little.

"Of course, I'll pay you extra for this. Just name your price."

A moment of silence then passed, but it would be broken by the arrival of the droid she had met earlier. He offered her some bacta spray, which she accepted. Valery then tore her shirt a little more and slipped a thumb between her hip and jeans so she could apply the spray directly against the injury.

"Thank you, that's a lot better."

Cyran nodded along to her words. “Yeah I don’t blame you for keeping it a secret. It’s not like people are normally super honest in my line of work anyways ya know?” Dishonor, disloyalty and dishonesty were all far too common for him working as a bounty hunter.

Then she pulled out and showed the item she was on her mission for. Only seeing the wrappings that covered it. Cyran gave it an interested gaze, but something about it pulled his attention. Maybe it was just his general unease when it came to things related to The Force, but he felt something else. His jaw clenched some and he gulped. Valery’s words as she explained it sorta just went into one ear and out the other as he looked at it as if losing focus.

However, when she put it away again his attention snapped back to her. “Uh yeah, definitely wouldn’t want something like that getting into the wrong hands…” He watched as his droid came over with the bacta spray that she began to apply to herself rather diligently. Letting out a deep breath he got up from his seat. “Well, let me see about plotting a course to get you back to the Galactic Alliance. Got a preference, maybe the capital, ain’t that where you Jedi folk operate from?” He said while he gestured to P4 to help him set their course in the cockpit.

All this new info about her being a Jedi on some secret mission made the bounty hunter feel like he was a little in over his head. Taking a seat in the pilot's chair he began operating some of the control for a hyperspace route. When the astromech joined him it spoke. ||You know I can tell you’re upset about something. Are you not a fan of the Jedi?|| The droid asked as it hooked into the navigation computers to plot a route for the core worlds.

“I just think anyone who reveres The Force is at best mistaken and at worst sinister, but she’s our client today and there's a good chance we’ll get paid enough to pay off the Baleen ship. So let’s get paid and hope we can put this behind us.”
He explained to the droid as they plotted their course. P4 chirping in acknowledgment. “Oh I almost forgot Miss Noble!” He called out from the cockpit. “Help yourself to any refreshments in the kitchen!”

"Yeah I don't blame you for keeping it a secret. It's not like people are normally super honest in my line of work anyways ya know?"

For a moment, Valery actually frowned and looked a tad saddened because of that, "Well, I try to be honest when I can, especially when other people's lives are at risk. If I had drawn my lightsaber when we were attacked, you wouldn't have been hit by that bolt." She let out a soft sigh and with a small shake of her head, she pushed herself away from the negative thoughts. In the end, neither of them had gotten seriously hurt, so there was no reason to linger there too long.

"Coruscant would be fine, I can get to where I need to go from there," she said with a soft smile and a nod. She was likely going to get properly geared up first once she returned, but the plan was to still deal with the artifact as well.

"Oh I almost forgot Miss Noble!" He called out from the cockpit. "Help yourself to any refreshments in the kitchen!"

Hearing that, Valery made her way into the kitchen and took a few minutes to prepare some tea. She made two cups, in case he wanted one as well, and made her way back, "Not sure if you like sugar in your tea, so I didn't add any yet," she said as she offered him the cup and sat down in one of the other seats within the cockpit.

"But uhm, once we get to Coruscant, I'll get you your payment as well. Do you have anything in mind as to how much you want for the trouble?"

Cyran had sensed that she’d become a little saddened about his comment about dishonesty. After the fact that it probably wasn’t the best thing to say or way to put it. Cyran had meant it in a more general sense rather than specifically at her.

Sitting with R4P4 the two of them punched in commands to set a path for the Galactic Alliance capital. When they got all the systems properly adjusted and were properly within distance from Klatooine he pushed the lever and sent the ship into hyperspace. The swirling blue light from the cosmic background radiation illuminated the cockpit as he turned to the droid. “So what do you think about our price matching that to pay off the Baleen?”

||It won’t net us any profit alone, but it’ll pay off a huge expense that will allow for more growth in the future. So I think it’s a good idea.”|| The droid chirped a reply. Nodding his head Cyran noticed Valery join them with a second cup of tea.

Taking the additional cup he thanked her. “Actually I do have a bit of a sweet tooth.” He confessed with a light chuckle. “But I don’t need the sugar, lately I’ve been trying to be healthier and cheaper. You’d likely be surprised how much credits us zeltrons can blow on junk food and booze.” After she took a seat she asked about the payment once more. Nodding Cyran took a sip, before flinching back from almost burning his tongue on the hot tea.

“Um yeah, my associate and I-” He said referring to P4. “We figured getting enough to be able to finally pay off our ship, not this one, another would be fair. It shouldn’t break anyone’s bank, it’s an old model and has already been partly paid off. We figured that wouldn’t break anyone’s bank ya know?” P4 beeped, seconding the statement.

"You'd likely be surprised how much credits us zeltrons can blow on junk food and booze."

Valery blinked at that and gave it some thought — yeah, that sounded about right. Not that Valery was too knowledgeable about those things, she rarely ate junk food and the occasional glass of wine was the only alcohol she drank. But she knew it was common for most people to be a little more liberal with those things.

"Tea without sugar it is, then," she smiled and sat down with her own cup, which she raised to her lips for a careful sip. Feeling how hot it was reminded her that she wanted to warn him about that, but it already seemed to be too late. Oops...

"Hm, pay off a ship? That shouldn't be a problem, but I won't be able to pay until I'm actually on Coruscant. When we're there, I can get it arranged at the spaceport, if that's alright?" She didn't want to make it seem like she was trying to scam him — but she really didn't have any money on her.

“Absolutely, once on Coruscant we can get all that squared away.” Cyran replied with a smile, figuring already that she didn’t have the ability to fulfill the payment at the moment. Bringing the cup of tea to his lips again he gently blew onto its surface to cool it before taking another sip. After which P4 whistled something about going to oil some of their joints before rolling off further into the ship.

Looking out at the swirling blue lights in hyperspace. It felt like something was off to him. Like there was something worming its way into the back of his mind, a mild unease, or a nonexistent whisper. “You said that amulate isn’t supposed to fall into the wrong hands right?” Cyran questioned, all the while still looking out the window from his pilot’s seat. “Is that like the Sith? Or some sort of other nefarious cult?” To him all force orders were just that, cults up to no good. His tone had also changed some. Not as affable as it normally was.

Something in him started casting doubts that weren’t there a minute ago. To an unfamiliar mind like Cyran’s he didn’t know what the difference was between a Jedi or a Sith. So who was to say that Valery herself wasn’t the “wrong hands” for that amulet? What if he was unknowingly complicit in some harmful scheme to get this amulet into the hands of bad people. After all this was a secret mission, and he was at a loose end that they would need to take care of once he got her back to Coruscant. Maybe Cyran should take the amulet from her and jetision it out into a powerful gravity well that it’ll never find its way out of.

By now it was likely that Valery sensed a rapidly growing sense of unease and paranoia coming from the Zeltron. That idea made Cyran’s body grew tense at a sudden realization. Could she be reading his mind right now? The thought terrified him as he felt like he made a huge mistake letting her on his ship now ripe for the taking if she wanted. Marooned in hyperspace with no witnesses. Was he greatly overthinking this? Possibly, but it's better to be safe than sorry...
