Faction Rebellion Actual, this is the Underground (OPA, The Resistance, & Freedom Fighters)

REBELLION ACTUAL
Link

They'd gotten sloppy, complacent. Comfortable in the borders of the Alliance. And now after that incident with Bodris, they'd been shaken loose, and the greater scale of things made more sense. Veino pushed himself into the booth and set down the glass of whiskey. It was here, several decades ago, in this booth, that the Force Masters of the Underground had gathered around and recognized him as a Master of the Underground Force Council. Not that they called themselves that, but it was what they were. Jedi, Jensaarai, Wardens, and others who had been sent into exile by the One Sith.

And it was time he paid that forward to the galaxy. Dark Side users were everywhere. From what Krenis Skirata had been telling him, the Galactic Alliance Senate was being infiltrated by Imperialist sympathizers and autocrats desperate for power and control, even allying with this New Imperial Order. And all this time, the Underground had been quiet, lurking in the shadows. It was time for that to change. Between ORION and the Jensaarai, he'd forgotten what it was they fought for. Freedom and liberty, not just for the Outer Rim, but for everyone who lived in the galaxy. And right now was the time to start putting plans into motion. There was a shaky balance of power in the galaxy and it would let them move freely and independently to accomplish what he had in mind.

All across the galaxy, there were veterans from the old Galactic Alliance and Underground agents going about their lives. A time would come when the Sith or Imperials would again rule vast swathes of the galaxy and it could be soon. They all had to be conscious of what had happened under their watch to the last Galactic Alliance. This time, they would have to be prepared. No more fleeing piecemeal across the galaxy to somewhere the Sith wouldn't find them, out of reach of the First Order as well. They were returning as well.

It was time to put Operation Liberty's Suns into motion. So, the call had gone out to the Underground, the Partisans, ORION, and the other resistance fighters of the galaxy. Time to be proactive and prepare for what would come. Darkness rose like a tide and this time they were going to be ready for it sweep across the galaxy.

It'd been a very long time. After a brief stint with the Alliance when it was reforming she'd had to flee. Imperialists and dark forces now held the assembly hostage. She'd even heard a Senator had been attacked by a Jedi. While she was no saint, having been a former pirate, she could appreciate the liberty organizations like the outback had bled for.

Piracy was an old game, and her morals had shifted. For a few years she;d just been wandering from job to job, place to place and making friends. She;d also amassed a very sizeable bank account.

Lucky for her she also still had a few friends from her days as a Diplomat whom passed the info going out and the location.

After a few months travel from the core, her moderately armed frigate burst from the black like bat out of hell. All weapons and shields were powered down.

"Begin broadcasting request for clearance."

"Aye Ma'am. How should we identify?"

"S.S. Crimson Maw. Use my old Alliance in Exile Diplomat codes. Let's see if they give us a shot."

It was an interesting thing, getting a call from the Underground. He was one of the leaders of that ground before it folded into the ORC and the Alliance in Exile. But now, now Coren was known to take a bit more of a relaxed approach of rebellion. He had a few ships that he would always use to help with the Underground. But assisting the Silver Jedi now was what he was doing. Still, if the call came out, he was going to be there to help fight the wars that he knew how to fight. The war against the dark side was far from over, but with his honeymoon, imposed exile, helped him see the error in his ways, a way to start working with the Jedi to take down the Sith, but t not lose the focus.

To be a protector, not someone who was going to set the galaxy on fire.

With the call from Rebellion Actual, Coren excused himself from the duties he had found himself with on the Tachyon Rising, being escorted by a pair of X-Wings to the hyperspace route that would get him to where he was needing to go. He had reached out to his son and daughter to make a push back there as well. He knew he’d be running into many old friends, some written, some not, but as the ship entered hyperspace he felt an odd sense of calm. Pulling into real space, he saw the Rebellion Actual and grinned.

“Starchaser Prime requesting docking.”

Veino's comlink buzzed and he pressed the button to accept the message. "Master Garn, this is station control. We have two ships approaching in response to your summons. Starchaser Actual and a AiE diplomat."

"Appreciate it, Station Control. Patch them through to me." He listened to the messages and then keyed in his code to respond through the station transmitters.

"I read you, Starchaser Actual. Come on in. Welcome home, Coren. I'm in the Red Shift, if you remember how to get here." He switched channels. "Welcome back, Katarine. I'm over in the Red Shift. Good to have you."

While waiting for them to arrive, he pulled down the privacy screens and activated a holoprojector, revealing a map of the galaxy. He put his elbows on the table and considered what it presented to him and what they were going to do.

Akarui

The word had reached her that the Underground was regrouping. She smiled after reading the message her intelligence agents had intercepted, it made her think about how to handle the resurgence in that type of action. Her thoughts fondly remembered those days, how she had been brought in by the rag-tag group of outlaws and renegades and went about liberating a good portion of the Galaxy to call their own.

If this call to arms was any indication of transpiring events, things were looking grim on the Galactic stage.

She was pulled away from her thoughts by a familiar voice,"Ki, what would you like us to do in regards to this message? Even though I already have an idea on what you're going to say..." Ki looked up at her friend and advisor and smiled widely, standing and placing a hand on the other woman's shoulder,"We should prepare ourselves for the inevitable Chika. If the Underground is gathering forces again for a fight, we should as well. Definitely get Mari to double production of military assets, I have a feeling they'll be needed, and not just by us." she added a wink that made Chika shake her head while chuckling.

They both looked as another officer rapidly approached them at a full sprint. The officer, from the palace defense section, leaned over as he caught his breath,"Your Grace, Commander, Emerald Squadron has departed the system without permission. What should we do about it?" he asked, seemingly in disbelief of the situation as Ki and Chika shared a knowing look.

Ki looked up to the stars for a moment in thought. She knew this day was coming, her adopted daughter was heading off on her own adventure...and she was okay with it. She breathed a deep sigh, smiling admirably,"Let them go, and strike their squadron from the fleet's registry. I am sure we'll be seeing them again. Chika, let's get to it then shall we?"

Coren Starchaser had been called many things, General, Grand Marshal, Jedi Master, but one thing he was always certain he was, was a Rebel. And coming back to Rebellion Actual? This was a home coming akin to returning to Csilla, or Corellia. But this station played a big role in many of his younger years, and has withstood the test of time required to become something of a legend. Assisting the early days of both the Outer Rim Coalition and the original Galactic Alliance, Rebellion Actual was the Underground’s main staging center. As he heard the familiar voice of Veino Garn Veino Garn , he couldn’t help but grin as he nodded.

“Landing and I’ll be there.” The YT-2000 entered the familiar hangar and as Coren readied the ship for a bit of an inspection and tune up, something he would normally handle on his own, he was willing to allow the Underground techs to check the ship. “Porter, make sure they don’t break anything.” He grinned as he grabbed his gunbelt, a Power 9 from Merr-Sonn on one hip, and his new lightsaber on the other, a place he was safe to be him. He wore no robes, just spacer garb, as was to be expected.

Stepping down the halls, he flipped a talon over to the quartermaster and followed the path he knew, entering the Red Shift not long after. A grin on his face. “So, whats the purpose for calling me here, old friend?”

Bang bang bang.

Having pulled up at the doc, Vaeri skipped to the chase and gave the door to the room a series of lazy, loud knocks. She had gotten the call, not for herself as she was a new face to the ground, but from a friend.

Er... Acquaintance? He was dead, anyway.

Address in hand, she gave the place another impatient pound. Then a tall and larking man rolled through. Dark hair. Blue eyes. Hell if she knew who he was, but he got the door open and she followed him in with no reservations. Was that a unicorn embellished on his back pocket? Coren Starchaser Coren Starchaser . She tilted her head, watching him walk, before snapping her attention up and giving the room a look over.

Her features were angular, exasperated by a severe expression and pulled back hair. She didn't smile at the strangers before her, despite practically inviting herself in here. Instead she gave him a look that demanded he answer for himself. She held up the slip with the address on it, her nails smeared with grime as she raised a brow.

"You rang?"

Veino allowed himself a small smile. The plan was coming together, albeit slowly. With enough of the old guard of the Underground to provide the resources, supplies, training, and experience, they would have a foundation. But it was going to take new volunteers to make the Underground thrive and when they were ready, they would bear the torch. It was how the Underground survived.

"Long time, no see, Coren!" Veino said as the man came in. "Come on in, grab a seat. Got a bottle of whiskey here." Not far behind him came someone new. Someone he didn't know, but he felt the presence of something like a Jedi, if perhaps grumpier than most he had known. No, that wasn't quite right. Focused. Driven. Good. They would need that.

"I did," Veino said, kicking back and watching her. "But not for you, per se. Yet someone seems to have considered you trustworthy enough to give the message. And you don't strike me as a Sith spy." He leaned forward again and rested his elbows on the table. "Name's Veino Garn. Saarai-Kaar of the Jensaarai, head of ORION, but neither are why I called this meeting."

He enlarged the galactic map that was projected above their heads, with all the major governmental territories included. "War is brewing. A big one. Lines are already being drawn. It's just going to need one spark to set it off. And I'm not talking a civil war. I'm thinking we're looking at another Great Galactic War that's set to start in the next few years. Last two times, we were unprepared. Reliant on governments and massive armies to maintain peace and protect the people of the galaxy. When the Galactic Republic fell and the One Sith swept across the galaxy, holding most of the Core, Midrim, and the fringes of the outer territories, Captain Jorus Merrill established the Underground. I was part of that movement, and we were playing catch up. Trying to train ourselves, get supplies, move them to where they were needed, all the while being hunted. This time, I want to be ready for whatever happens."

Veino drained his glass and let it fall back to the tabletop.

"It's time for the Underground to go active again, this time before tragedy strikes."

She had arrived only to hear the last half of the message. She was clad only in white trousers and cloak over a dark black under suit. Hidden within the folds of her person was a single Westar 34 Pistol. On her hip a most peculiar rapier.

"So what are we talking here? Expansion? Subversion?"

She was somewhat familiar with the Underground having worked for elements of the Alliance in Exile before they became the near Imperial Monstrosity they'd once sworn off.

"Apologies, where are my manners? Katarine Falcon, former Pirate and Alliance Diplomat. How can I be of service gentlemen?"

Veino turned to welcome the newcomer. "Good to have you with us, Katarine. I think we've crossed paths in the past with the Alliance. Come on in." He turned back to the holographic map and held out his arms to encompass the display of the galaxy. "As to your question, not so much of either." He pointed to the map. "First up is intelligence and preparation so we can be ready to act anywhere in the galaxy. As for how our actions, subversion will be the goal. Training and supplying local resistance cells."

He increased the size of the map and stepped back to look at it. "We have the Sith-Imperial Civil War. We have the Bryn'adul. The Eternal Empire not far from us. Corrupt corporations in Denon. Rumors and reports of corruption and Imperialist sympathizers embedded in the political structure of the new Galactic Alliance. This new Zweihander Union."

Veino shook his head slowly. "It's not looking good. We need to be strategic and deliberate in our operations. Pick our first targets for establishing local cells and supply routes. I've identified a few, but the Underground needs your input and various expertises. I'm thinking Coruscant, Denon, Brentaal IV, Galidraan."

He looked at the assembled team. "That's four initial targets. Think we can get in and establish the networks for them?"
