Rate the Song Above You

Never really seen a thread like this, but I thought it might be fun to play around with. So here goes. It's rather simply, rate the song above you from 1/10. Provide a link if possible or use (media) link (/media), with [ brackets.

Remember! Be respectful and if possible leave a comment on why you think as you do! It is bound to happen that some people will link a song they like a lot. So if you really hate that one in paticular consider not replying just then.

Hopefully we will with this little experiment have some of you all discover new genres and artists that you like, have fun!

First song:
José González - Cycling Trivialities

7/10 Such a feel good song. Very classic, always makes me think of sun shine or a commercial without a product. If that even makes sense. If I'm not in the mood for a feel good song however it can be a bit too slow for my taste.

For the next person to judge:

The type of autotune used in for the singing is something I for some reason just doesn't like. Not sure exactly why. Good and exciting electronic music with a good depth in the tune. 7/10

Das boot...!

5/10 for me. I prefer music with a melody, this to me is just rambling over a beat with a lot of keyboards behind it. I'd probably like it okay if I were sweating in club somewhere though.

Bring the club to your living room!

Also, that reminds me a lot of Mastodon. So, Masta/Mastadon

Speaking of which, here's their newest music video and all its nerdy goodness.

I can respect the instrumental and the somewhat emotion provoking side of the song. But it's too hard a type of music for my taste. 4/10

And now for something completely different:

I thought it was just going to be another Europop music video. I wasn't ready for this ride.

I also cannot into Norwegian. Nice Hat / Fin Hat

And now for a song in English but I have no clue what the singer is saying.

It did indeed take a lot of concentration to make out what those guys were saying. I actually quite liked this one. I think it will have to go and sit on the 7 / 10 as well.

An old k-pop band just released this song. Interested in hearing what people think. Personally I find it to be a weird, but interesting genre.

I managed to listen through it all. And I have to say I almost found that comical. They sound scandinavian though, so yea! I suppose I can hear what is appealing in the song, but personally I just can't feel the vibe in any form what so ever. I guess this one is places itself on the same raking as the last metal/hard rock song I rated. 4/10

Some Dr. Kucho! & Gregor Salto.

They're from Finland xD

Listened to "Can't Stop Playing" and after, I can see the appeal of the song, though I don't have much of a drive for techno. It really depends on the mood it sets, because some I like, and others I don't. This one left me thinking that there should have been more to it, but to each there own. 6/10

Now for "War of Change" by Thousand Foot Krutch

[member="Vereaux"] I like this one actually. Isn't something I would listen to if I had other options though. He got good vocals and as seen in this song he's able to use it in different settings. 7/10

4/10. I ain't a fan of it but it ain't horrible, just something I ain't into.

Song: Primus's My name is Mud.

Warning: It's an...odd video and song, though if your familiar with Primus you already know that.

24 Hour Party Person
8/10. I've been a huge Primus fan since the sixth grade. I've always loved the Surrealism they carry into music and their instrumentation. I'm a big fan. A very big fan. Hell, in my own bass playing, I try to channel Les Claypool as much as I can (something hard to do, even with 6+ years of experience.)

As for myself, I'll let you in on what's been stuck in my head as of late.

Song: 24 Hour Party People by the Happy Mondays.
