It's nice, but profile views can be tricky (at least in avatars), since generally having the face centered (or at least close to the edge opposite to the one it's facing) comes off as 'more appealing'. Unfortunately, pulling that off in avatars usually requires cropping out the back half of the head or zooming out. Both options can take away from the image's overall appeal, however, which makes perfectionists flail around (since in a lot of cases there's no perfect solution, but simply different options that will please some people while put off others). My only other 'complaint' is just a minor issue with the back of his head being fairly dark and hard to see. Not really too big of an issue, and it does make sense because of the lighting, it just looks sorta odd because of the even darker background.
I thought way too hard about this- but I've spent a lot of time messing around with graphic art/design stuff lately and it's become a habit to over analyze anything put in front of me.
