HISTORICAL INFORMATION
With Clan Gred become more stable, and Gred Fleet growing, the need for smaller, cruiser and frigate centered fleets, which were designated as light, standard, and heavy squadrons were planned to break up the large fleet into smaller units. While light squadrons were almost purely escort, and heavy squadrons were formed around heavy combat, standard squadrons, given the ID of Ranger, sit somewhere in the middle.
Ranger-2, formally identified as the 2nd Standard Squadron, is one of the results of this project. Lead by the Gotal'ur Rang, along with the vessels Central A.I. being the commander of Ranger-2, and a pair of Shield-class escort cruisers, Ranger-2 is meant to function in various roles as needed, be they escort or combat. While the smaller fleet and its crews are new to these kind of operations, they are eager to show they are ready and willing to serve wherever they're needed.
