Just as the title says, if you make a sub in the 'ranged weapons' category, and possibly others, it doesn't show up under the 'factory items' tab of character profiles.

Bug 'Ranged Weapons' Factory Subs Not Showing Up in Factory Tab

As I see, only the old categories are there (tech, vehicle and ship). and not the new ones.
