OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • City Name: Raijin City
  • Classification: Underwater City
  • Location: Atrisia codex Atrisia wookiee
  • Affiliation: Akagi Clan/Atrisian Commonwealth
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics:
    Atrisian (human)
    Melodie (immigrated)
  • Wealth: Medium: The city itself is able to maintain itself and has regular shipments to the surface of the planet. The clans hybridization with the Melodies who were brought to the world after attacks within the Yavin system have helped find rare treasures and protect or repair the city.
  • Stability: High: Being a mostly reclusive clan that resides under the ocean researching, exploring and farming fish or different natural wonders under the waters.
  • Freedom & Oppression: The Akagi clan keeps it fairly tame but restrictive... since they are underwater most areas are considered sensitive so structure is needed with designated areas for the children to be able to play or train. The clan themselves are free to come and go as they please but are generally asked to not bring large groups of people back to the city.
  • Description: Tales of the Akagi clans underwater city are rumors on Atrisia... more so because they were one of the first clans on the planet to welcome and bring refugees from another world centuries before. The melodie nests around the city and in the lagoons were a primary reason for why it was selected and over the years there have been large scale renovations to better improve the city itself. From changing out the basic metal structures that would degrade and rust. Into more self contained and modular pieces that could be replaced if they failed or be repaired faster. The massive observatory windows to let them look out on the ocean and see the different species of aquatic life attracted by the lights and sounds. The lagoon bays are close to geothermal vents that can be channeled to power the station and warm the waters in some of the circulation chambers. Small pools that are in the ocean but not completely part of it to prevent attacks or hypothermia from the depths that they are down there. The inner halls of the chambers are very sterile and designed for efficiency while the individual rooms get to be personalized. Repair and maintenance droids set to walk around the halls and the clans biggest areas of the city are the submersible and bathysphere connections that go from building to building. Some for living, others for research, training, food and entertainment. A temple dedicated to ancient gods who were found in ruins by the melodies are predominantly the religion of the clan which sets them apart from many of the others.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Hatchery: Scattered throughout the city and one of the most protected areas aside from environmental controls. The hatcheries are where the melodies keep their eggs in a simulated surface environment so they can hatch and grow before going into the water.

Caves of the Deep: The first rift that is lined with majority of the city and goes deep down into areas of the world. The caves go on for kilometers in different directions and are filled with ancient murals depicting beings that are extinct and were once worshiped.

Darkworld Rift: Largely unexplored because of the creatures that were found there during the time the one sith occupied atrisia.

SECURITY
High
Being under the waters of the ocean greatly improves its security.. making it much harder to reach and for most trying to attack survive. The melodie are fast and dangerous in the water with a vicious streak compared to most as they are given training in Atrisian fighting techniques as well as how to use their natural abilities under the water compared to many other species. The hydrostatic shielding that is around areas of the facility itself function to prevent water from getting into it aside from the lagoon pools for submersibles.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Created several centuries past originally by the Akagi clan after the news of the vong attacks on Yavin 4's jedi praxeum. The moon was regarded as lost and when Lyric perished a few tried to rescue what people they could. A couple shuttle craft worth of Melodies who could flee and two batches of eggs were brought to Atrisia by the clan to be rescued. Marine xenobiologists who were under the Emperor at the time wanted to study them and see if they could adapt to relocate. The group of Melodies were adopted by the Akagi clan and a relationship was formed. The clan worked to protect and provide for them while the melodies scouted the oceans and helped advance their research in ways that weren't easy to do. Eventuually several intermarried and there were a couple hybrids able to be born.

With a new clan there was a need for a new home, the Akagi clan went to work on an underwater city that couuld serve as a base but a home for the children who could live in the water or on the land. The beginnings of the city was around one of the deeper sinkholes that had been found where the other Melodies had formed a home. The eggs needing to be born on land but it was dangerous with some of the creatures so environmental areas to mimic the surface were made for the eggs and it expanded from there. The melodies acted as protectors from underwater predators and those who wanted to be taught were trained with Atrisian katanas. Jar'kai blades that they could fashion for their own use and were able to protect them underwater. Further work over the centuries to improve the design and replaces parts of it also led to more intermarriage between a portion of the two groups so the clan grew.

Eventually the Jishi era was coming in and news of the restoration efforts came with a whole slew of advances for construction purposes. The Akagi clan worked to make sure they had new pieces and equipment for the city while the melodies continued with their old agreements and was. Helping the researchers and caring for the young. Some even helping the clan make money by catching extra fish but not over fishing whenever they went out to eat. Eventually a small but sizable amount of the clan were hybrids who could live in the city or in the water and journey with some of the other more human members of the clan. The more ferocious nature of them prefect for handling predators that might come near them and looks compared to what many figure mermaid like beings to be.

Interesting submission! Just a few things to fix on this one too:

1.) Links:

Location: Atrisia - This link is actually broken. It goes to the old site - Not the new one.
Affiliation: Akagi Clan/Atrisian Commonwealth - This link is actually broken. It goes to the old site - Not the new one.

2.) Not Quite Done: The portion below was missed by accident - You'll have to fill that out.
Freedom & Opression: Describe the atmosphere of freedom in this city. Are the people fairly free or is oppression of society and commerce heavy? Does it have a dictatorial ruler? Is fear of the ruling body prevalent? Relaxed and open? Is anything unusual illegal or permitted?
3.) Clarify: There are just a few sentences you might want to run over to ensure they make sense. I'll highlight the confusing part below.
From changing out the basic metal structure that could rust to getting more self contained and modular pieces that could be replaced if they failed or repaired easier.
The lagoon bays are close to geothermal vents that can be channeled to power and water the waters in some of the circulation chambers.

4.) Lyrics: Who is she? From the quote below she seems important. Is she a character?
The moon was regarded as lost and when Lyric perished a few tried to rescue what people they could.

Take a look and tag me when you're ready. Thanks!
