- Trapped Grip - Integrated biometric authentication access control system which only allows the designated wielder and other authorized agents to activate and wield the lightsabers. The hilt(s) will discharge a potent electrical energy field in the event that the weapon is handled by an unauthorized agent, with the potential to cause severe electrical burn injuries to the victim.

- Material Limitations - The lightsabers have no particular specialized enhancements or amplified power settings that would push them beyond the strength of a normal lightsaber, even with the power adjustment system set to the maximum setting. As such, lightsaber-resistant materials will naturally present challenges of varying degrees to the weapons, depending on the material in question, its thickness, and a host of other factors.
- Shock Pulse - Ion or EMP pulses may knock out or disable many of the lightsabers’ special features. A particularly powerful discharge may even shut off the blade(s) entirely.
Won in battle on Saijo during a duel against a Dark Jedi mercenary in the employ of the autocrats of Terminus, upon claiming the weapons Quintessa set about modifying them to better fit her stature, aesthetic preferences, and fighting style. In doing so, Quintessa added a number of features to the weapons, including trapped grips, bifurcating-cyclical ignition pulses for underwater operation, a more precise blade power adjustment system, and redundant circuitry to better overcome the deleterious effects of cortosis. Last but not least, Quintessa meditated with the lightsabers over the course of many days, breaking the attunement of the weapons to their last owner and superimposing herself on them in his place. While she did not bleed them, she made them her own and in doing so, succeeded in attuning the lightsabers to her distinct Force presence.
