  • Hyperdrive Class: Class-0.8 (Primary), Class-2.5 (Secondary), Class-5 (Emergency)
STANDARD FEATURES
  • Long-range directional beaming communications suites.
  • High degree of automation.
  • Living quarters and rest and recreation facilities for the crew suitable for long-term missions.
  • Large number of HOB/F Heavy Repeating Blasters armed autoturrets and ray-shielded security checkpoints within the ship.
  • Large numbers of "Sentry" Security Droids and "Sentinel" Combat/Security Droids on constant patrol stationed in armored lockers across the ship.
  • Control and information dissemination centers separated from one another to maintain compartmentalization of classified intelligence.
  • Small hangar to handle small craft going to and from the ship.
  • Can deploy "Sentry" Droid pods for on-the-ground surveillance.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Long-term use stealth systems to mask the ship's presence.
  • Powerful Class-0.8 Hyperdrive to outrun potential pursuers.
  • Advanced information-gathering systems and powerful computers to manage massive inflows of information and data.
  • Interior lining of Neuranium, protects against scans and jams interior communications to prevent unauthorized communications from potential infiltrators. Only the ship's own comms, which are hardwired outside the ship through the hull can operate for those inside the ship.
  • Powerful engines and navigation systems, allows the ship to be flown like a very big and fast corvette.
  • Moving ray shields in the corridors for sweeping out potential intruders and/or boxing them in.
  • Powerful deflector shields that can remain on even if they are cloaked due to being on separate power and control systems.
STRENGTHS
  • Very stealthy ship, able to be in the outskirts of a potentially-hostile system for prolonged periods of time without being detected.
  • Very fast and maneuverable, capable of outrunning and outmaneuvering many fast patrol frigates.
  • Very powerful scanners and electronic surveillance equipment and support computer cores, able to monitor and record vast amounts of military and civilian communications.
  • Powerful directional beaming communications suites, able to compact and transmit files on a data stream to avoid potential intercept.
  • Strong internal security measures, boarding or infiltrating this ship would be incredibly difficult to successfully accomplish.
  • Can remain on station for a very long time operating at a high rate of efficiency.
  • Heavily-encrypted computer and communications systems to prevent comms tapping.
WEAKNESSES
  • A very, very expensive ship.
  • Its semi-rare hull material make repairing hull damage a costly fix.
  • Powerful and sensitive computer equipment is very costly and bulky and is expensive to repair due to large amounts of supporting power and cooling infrastructure.
  • Under-gunned, is ship-to-ship defenses are missile-based.
  • Cloaking system is prone to environmental damage (i.e. asteroids, debris, etc.).
  • Does not have any starfighters in its standard loadout.
  • Small crew for a ship its size.
DESCRIPTION
The not-so-secret weapon of the Crossroads Republic. It is the 12-strong Prowler fleet that is the all-seeing eyes and ears of the Crossroads Republic's intelligence branches. They are jointly-operated by civilian and military intelligence personnel, drawing upon highly-vetted electronic surveillance experts, hackers, slicers, and direct-action operatives who go through several years of specialty training before they are granted access to even going near a Prowler-Class Surveillance Cruiser. Often these sleek and fast ships will be the control point for agents and direct-action teams. When the Crossroad Fleet is on campaign there is always going to be a Prowler nearby providing masses of intelligence and updates on enemy fleet compositions, positions, movements, and even their operational status if their decryption software is able to crack into an enemy's communications. Each and every Prowler is able to operate totally independently of their sister ships in the field, but they are networked in with one another, capable of combining their efforts to get particularly-hard-to-crack encryption dealt with.

These ships' weapons, while minimal, are designed to be capable of dealing with the kinds of threats that can catch these very elusive ships. However, if a cruiser or a large frigate can catch this ship it will be in very real trouble. However, the real trouble with the Prowler is finding it, they never ever enter the vicinity of hostile warships, preferring to remain in open space well-away from where patrols might even look towards. There they remain at the bare minimum of operating capacity while listening and deciphering everything that is sent wireless.
