Discussion Promote Your Romance

I’m going to be honest in that I find the concept or writing a romance kind of icky in most ways. I had a former friend beg me to write romance for years and then blow up at me when I wasn’t attracted to them OOC. It just seems so easy to blur the lines between IC and OOC. Then people get so mad if it doesn’t go the right way but realistically people break up… people cheat… and people in actual war are probably so traumatized who knows what happens? To me this makes a story more interesting but in the past I’ve taken shade over a love story not being a storybook romance.

That being said though I have been slowly dipping my toe back into the waters to see if I’d be any good at it. Kat is skating around that area with Connel (it’s a will they/wont they arc that we aren’t even sure which way it will go). To me that’s a good story and since Caltin isn’t a complete creep OOC he’s cool to just let it happen even if it ends in tragedy. It feels like that’s what you really need to make this work, a good partner who isn’t looking to live vicariously through a random love story on a rp site.

I am open to trying to explore it with other chars too. Right now I just don’t feel like I have a lot of core friends that are super close to do that with here yet. But I’m ever searching. I do have a few and my inbox is open coz I wanna make more besties.
I'm very selective with who I write romances with precisely because I want the very clear boundaries (that it's an IC romance, not an OOC one) to be respected. I've only written two, or attempted to, and both writers left rping before anything came of it.

We'll see if I attempt a third.

I can confidently say, with absolute confidence, that I know for a fact that I am not Wedge Draav, a hotshot pilot for the galactic alliance or Nej Tane, a gunslinging outlaw ne'er-do-well

You definitely need to be careful. Have had some of these things happen, and it's why I'm so selective with who I write those types of stories with. Which, primarily has been Vizion Trozky Vizion Trozky or Brandyn Sal-Soren Brandyn Sal-Soren . Have known both of those crazy coots for years, and know that they understand the difference between IC and OOC.

Currently, the only one romance that any of character really completed was Yuroic x Jairdain Ismet-Thio Jairdain Ismet-Thio which created two daughters and a whole family. They weren't always guaranteed as well, with Yuroic struggling with his demons at times.

I am enjoying Lily and her romantic times with characters, having fun but shall be fun when she explores a deeper romance with Shan Shan

Dreidi and Aiden Porte Aiden Porte recently had a shared kiss which felt like a long time coming. Though it has not led to anything more yet.

Ensuring you are comfortable with a person OOC is totally paramount. It helps to ensure there are no blurred lines and boundaries can be set. I always approach things up front and try to follow where my characters' interest is.

Also, going stories that aren't conventional/storybook is totally awesome and sometimes creates the strongest relationships.

This Character has no romance......

In fact out of all my characters here the Majority have been married but they all started before Chaos and the people they were with didn't really come here or left.

The only one I can think of on Chaos that I have played somewhat through is Maiza Vex Maiza Vex & Iskendyr Yvarro Iskendyr Yvarro It was more of a possible budding romance but I loved writing it.
