ADVANCED FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - A specialized component; the AR-0B maintains an ablative current that courses through the hull plating of the Lucrehulk-class. This component, when utilized, assists in the removal of harmful particles that have built up on the hull of the vessel; in turn, it ensures the longevity of the hull plating, increasing the duration between required visits to repair facilities or dedicated shipyards for repairs or refits of the hull plating.
  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - This specialized component is often - depending on the size of the vessel - utilized in tandem with up to three total systems. The Mk VII, when utilized, provides additional endurance and operational range to a vessel's Deflector Shields. This in turn provides additional defensive capabilities and ensures greater survivability in long-term engagements.
  • Heavily Armed - Arrayed along the external superstructure ring of the vessel is an impressive array of weapons, giving credence to its classification as a Battleship. The Lucrehulk-class is heavily armed and capable of slugging it out with some of the largest vessels from Light Cruisers to Star Destroyers.
  • Dedicated Carrier - Though classified as a Battleship, the Lucrehulk-class maintains the capability to carry a total of Thirty-Squadrons of Starfighters and Support Craft, and often uses them in tandem with its heavy armaments to devastating effect.
  • Catapult Launch System - A primary difference to many of the older Lucrehulk-class vessels is the addition of a series of Catapult Launch Systems that are located in the exterior facing docking bays. These systems are capable of rapidly launching any starfighter squadron that is "loaded" into its launch magazine.
  • Onboard Starfighter Repair Facilities - In line with its role as a Dedicated Carrier, the Lucrehulk-class maintains a number of internal repair facilities that are equipped to repair and fabricate parts and components to ensure the continued operational viability of its Starfighter and Support Craft Squadrons.
  • Automation - Owing to its smaller crew complement and as a means to ensure additional space for weapons and cargo, a number of internal systems within the Lucrehulk-class are automated as a means to alleviate any additional burden from the crew. This ensures that the vessel is capable of operating with a smaller crew complement than what would normally be needed or required for a standard vessel of this size.
  • Command and Control - Though often no longer utilized due to the advancements of Battle Droids and the installation of individual control matrices; the Lucrehulk-class is still outfitted with a Command and Control module in those events when a mass command or update is needed to be broadcast to any nearby Battle Droids. It can also serve as a buffer for individual programs in the event that an individual droid is destroyed, while its programming awaits the allotted time to be downloaded into a new chasis.

WEAKNESSES
  • Low Maneuverability - The vessel's size and overall capabilities as a Battleship and a Dedicated Carriers means that you would have a better time flying and successfully performing a barrel roll with a Barn than you would with the Lucrehulk-class.
  • Low Speed - Likewise, the size of the Lucrehulk-class also plays into the fact that the vessel is exceedingly slow, and often takes time to move or otherwise transit from one location to another. With smaller, more nimble craft easily capable of outrunning and even outmaneuvering the larger vessel.
  • Catapult Launch System - Stationed in the external hangar bays that are located along the ring section of the vessel, this launch system is capable of rapidly deploying starfighters; however, it comes at a cost. The system itself is designed in a manner that requires the starfighter to be racked in a sort of magazine in order to be launched, which can be time-consuming. Likewise, if the system were to be damaged or disabled, it would be rendered inoperable and incapable of launching any starfighters loaded into the system.
  • Dedicated Carrier - A vast design difference from previous Lucrehulk vessels is the addition of a number of exterior facing hangar bays that are equipped with the catapult launch systems utilized to deploy the craft's Starfighter Squadrons. The location and orientation of these hangar bays provide additional means for enemy vessels to potentially board or cause internal damage to the vessel if the shielding in those sections has been disabled or their capabilities to withstand enemy fire have been diminished.
  • Atmospheric Operations - While the Lucrehulk-class is capable of operating within the Atmosphere of a planet, it must be cautious in doing so, as its shielding capabilities become compromised. Likewise, if any of the thrusters or rockets utilized to keep the vessel stable were to be damaged or destroyed - with enough such systems being compromised in such a way - it could lead to the vessel itself crashing into the surface of the planet.
  • Support Vessels - Though classified as a Battleship and Dedicated Carrier, the Lucrehulk-class still requires additional support to deal with a wide variety of threats. From Starfighter and Bomber Assaults to faster-moving craft such as Fast-Attack Frigates and Corvettes. Likewise, while capable of standing toe-to-toe against some Star Destroyers, it would easily become overwhelmed if facing multiple such threats without additional support craft to provide additional firepower.
  • Automation - Utilized as a means to ensure the operational capabilities of the vessel with a smaller crew, it can just as easily become a hindrance. In the event that those systems that have become automated sustained damage or are otherwise disabled - such as from Ion-based weaponry - the burden of operating these systems would be placed on the small crew, potentially reducing the vessel's overall capabilities to operate efficiently.
  • Command and Control - Though the command and control capabilities are not often utilized anymore beyond specific requirements, the system itself can still be a detriment to the vessel and any ground elements within its broadcast range. As such, a dedicated slicer or saboteur that manages to make their way onto the vessel could potentially make their way into the system and disseminate harmful viruses or other such coding that would further compromise the operational capabilities of any droids in broadcast range or internal systems of the vessel itself.

DESCRIPTION
The staple bread and butter of the Confederacy of Independent Systems - and the more notable and well-known of the vessels often deployed in its fleets. Over the countless eras that have come and gone since its original deployment by the Trade Federation prior to the Clone Wars and those during, the Lucrehulk-class has become synonymous with the might and strength of the Confederacy and a common sight throughout the territory administered by that Galactic Government. It has undergone a number of refits, redesigns, and alterations - and following in that same train of thought, the Lucrehulk-class Battleship has been reintroduced with a striking design - though is none the less, still just as capable as its predecessors.

A stark difference between the Lucrehulk-class a number of its predecessors is the addition of hangar bays located on the exterior section of its ring-ling superstructure. With five such hangar bays on each arm - and still retaining its usual docking claws and hangar bays on the internal section of its arms - these exterior hangar bays are equipped with a sophisticated Catapult Launch System; in which the Starfighters are loaded into a magazine like system and rapidly deployed into combat. However, the downside to this system is the time it takes to load those Starfighters that have returned to refit and rearm - likewise, the system if damaged, would be rendered inoperable and become prevented from rapidly launching any starfighters loaded into its waiting magazine. That is not to say that the Lucrehulk-class would become defenseless or inoperable, as it still remains an effective Battleship even in the event that it cannot rapidly deploy its Starfighter Squadrons.

Following in the steps of its predecessors, the Lucrehulk-class is just as heavily armed as the mainline battleships deployed during the Clone Wars and in the following conflicts that have spread across the galaxy. Its defensive capabilities are just as formidable - and the Lucrehulk-class retains its capability of deploying massive forces of battle droids and ground elements to a planet. However, these capabilities come at a cost - and in this instance, that cost comes in the form of a marked lack of speed and maneuverability. Likewise, as a means to further increase its cargo capacity and passenger complement, many systems of the vessel are highly automated to cut down on the size and space that would be taken up by a more conventional crew for a vessel of this size. This holds the potential of its own problems, with such systems - in the event of damage or disability by Ion-based weaponry - placing an additional burden to maintain the vessel's operational capacity, on the already small crew.

Furthermore, while the vessel is more than capable of operating within the atmosphere of a planet - and retains a Command and Control capability - these systems can just as easily be turned against the craft. Such as by the disabling or destruction of those systems that would keep the vessel aloft in the Atmosphere - resulting in the Lucrehulk-class crashing into the planet below. Or a skilled Slicer being able to disseminate harmful coding or viruses through the Command and Control system to nearby Droid units. Thus, it is critical that these systems are highly protected and are some of the most heavily defended areas on or within the vessel itself. Even with the vessel being classified as a Battleship, and carrying the armament to back up such a claim - it still relies heavily upon additional support vessels to withstand long-term fleet engagements - as even the Lucrehulk-class would be incapable of withstanding a concentrated salvo from a fleet of Star Destroyers.

As the years continue to push forward, and new innovations are made, it is only a matter of time before the next vessel comes along - for the moment, the Lucrehulk-class is not intended to displace or otherwise fully replace those design iterations that have come before this current design. Rather, much like many of the other recent designs produced and associated with Von Sorenn Industries - they are intended to operate alongside and in tandem with these older designs, complementing their strengths and weaknesses and providing for a greater effective fighting force than supplanting them wholesale.
