Pleasure Planet (GR Dominion of Ambria and Zeltros)

Pleasure Planet: A Galactic Republic Dominion

Zeltros

5323813.jpg

Once a prime tourist destination of the whole galaxy, the Inner Rim planet has fallen into a deep recession after a series of unfortunate events. The government is hoping that with a resurgent Republic, their fortunes will change with new sources of foreign investment, and reintegration into the GR's massive single market. Still reeling from an assault by the One Sith against the capital and monarchy, the government is also looking for military advisors from the Republic to assist them in building up their security forces into a more capable organization.

Objectives

Economic Summit: Business leaders and dignitaries from across the Republic have been invited by the Zeltros government so that they can make the case for investment. The government is also looking for help from companies in expanding distribution of its popular lines of perfumes. Feel free to mingle with your peers and make some sweet deals of your own. (@Joza Pearl has agreed to act as one representative of the Zeltron delegation.)

Rapture: The Kiribian biotech firm Panacea has recently finished work on a large medical resort complex called Rapture, located just outside the capital city. Rapture will serve at the site for the week-long economic summit. Security for the event is being overseen by Panacea (embedded with Kiribian special forces), with assistance from the Republic Senate Guard. Ysalamir provided by Spaarti have been placed throughout the complex to envelop the resort in an extended force suppression bubble.

The resort is open for public use, with a special discount for all GR citizens, so feel free to just enjoy yourself on the pleasure planet.

War Games: Military advisors have been called to help the government improve the performance of their security forces, both on land and in the air. The military acquisitions department is interested making deals for some new weapon systems.

Ambria

the-black-tower-2web.jpg

Sith alchemists have descended upon the barren world, attempting to make use of the special properties of Lake Naath for the creation of more potent Sithspawn, and the development of a new ion superweapon that could spell doom for the fleets of the Republic. In the north of the planet, the Sith work to uncover large fragments of the ancient Obelisk of Ambria. While the obelisk may have been destroyed, each individual fragment exists as a dark nexus unto itself. The Dark Side threatens to overtake the planet once more as pieces of the obelisk are recovered. All the while, the locals have been subject to a reign of terror as many are kidnapped on the daily for experimentations at Lake Naath.

A joint strike team consisting of members of the Republic military and the Republic Knights have been deployed to liberate the planet from the scourge of the Sith. The Jedi have been specifically
tasked for disposal of the obelisk fragments, and the purification of Lake Naath.

Objectives

Operation Towerfall: A flotilla will insert strikes teams planetside, and engage with any hardware the Sith have up in the air. The primary targets is a small research compound situated at the edge of Lake
Naath, and an excavation site far away in the north. Locals are being held within the research compound, so please exercise some restraint. Meanwhile, squads of Republic marines will also be dropped into population centers across the planet to rid them of Sith.

Project Susanoo: If possible, data from the Sith's superweapon project should be collected for reverse engineering. The information could be used to create a powerful lineup of anti-ship weapons.

Lake
Naath: Upon completion of the operation, the Jedi will move to purify the lake and exorcise/capture the Sith spirits sealed away underneath. It would be ideal to shift the alignment of the nexus from dark to light.

Meditative Canyon: It is a force nexus that once served as a training site for the Jedi of the Old Republic. Jedi artifacts can be found
here or at the ruins of the Ambria Jedi Enclave near its entrance. The late Jedi Grandmaster Nomi Sunrider was known to inhabit the Enclave for some time.

Zeltros was a beautiful place and Ayumi had come here to work with some of the locals while exploring. The attack by the One Sith years ago had given the people new places to reconstruct which meant business opportunities that Sasori had come in to help with. The destruction at the palace had uncovered some of the older things at the site while the jedi master provided some things with herself in the senate. She had her adventuring companion to search the lower crypts that had been sealed up and uncovered when they were on the world. Since invasions of the planet were not an easy thing normally it meant a lot of the possible things that had been left down there from ancient zeltrons or rulers could give insight to the world.

Ambria was a world she couldn't believe, the feeling of the force both with the lightside of the force and the darkside so close it sent chills across the spine while she was moving over one or two of the places. Shapo stood at the ready for anything that might be coming her way when she was going to explore and if risking it she knew she might have to fight some of the dangerous darkside dragons that were at the lake. OTher jedi might be around here or there but she wouldn't disappoint as many other masters had been here working on some of the bigger things and ideas for them all over. She had a small lightsaber on her hip and her ears were perked looking around when she was feeling hungry for some force sensitive grub to snack on. Tail swishing back and forth before she took a drink from her canteen rolling the ideas over in her mind of what kind of food might be there int he lake she could eat.

After what transpired on Kuat, in an attempt to raid KDY with the objective being to steal starship schematics, it felt good to be back in light-sided territory. Jessica suffered some trauma as a result, despite being the one in the advance party that actually knew anything about the ins and outs of KDY, and she is now in a leave of absence so that her wounds would heal. Alongside [member="Jaster Starfallen"], [member="Celiana"] and [member="Silas Miu"], and a few Mandalorians, Jessica was hailed as one of the heroes of Kuat, and Charzon was out of the limelight, despite the operation being to Ringovinda StarYards' benefit. But Charzon would be there not so much to fight as she was there to attempt to sell the Zeltrons some weapon systems that saw use in Alliance and First Order service respectively, with them being the most famous users of the minesweeping main battle tank and the TIE/rv Reaver respectively. Not that it meant that much to Charzon or the Zeltrons... which she meets on the landing platform of a derelict base with the AT-AT barge prototype, with the AT-AT barge containing both a TIE Reaver and a tank.

"May I interest you in some tihaar?" the Zeltron procurement official told Charzon.

"Tihaar? What flavors?"

"The tihaar is on the house"

"Look, I know that Taking Off on a Star Tour talked about Star Tours' involvement in the Kuat raid, and with it mentioned that I was a tihaar lover, but please, refrain from talking about the Kuat raid: this was the proof that thievery just isn't for any of the Ringovinda StarYards staffers involved in it."

"But Jessica was the star of the raid, to the eyes of Ringovindians; she has received the Silver Star - and all the other occupants of the tram, too"

Zeltros was not the kind of world Safiriel would usually be found upon. She prefered darker and more subtle places, not places that boasted of exactly how far they blew classical consideration out the window. Walking down the streets had been an exercise in confusion and hedonistic viewing, and she felt like she had lost a small little bit of herself doing it. None the less they eventually arrived at the entrance to their goal, the planet's lower crypts. Whom knew exactly what secrets may be tucked away down here? Hopefully more than a Zeltron with a strange obssession for the dead

Ayumi looked at Safiriel as arriving did get a good look from herself, she was prepared for any number of things that might be happening across the planet as her security forces were coming to help out the local zeltrons with what security and defense they might need. THeir soldiers were skilled and talented but it was always good to have things set up to defend yourself. They were getting some of the work for anti air and anti sithspawn as well as some shelters in case of more trying to detonate ships in the city. Ayumi herself though exploring down below in here with Safiriel that she could go along with her. "Welcome to the undercroft of zeltros, now we just have to hope the ancient zeltrons didn't believe in excessive booby traps."

Operation Towerfall - Siege of the Northern Dig - p1

The first explosion tore apart a Sith land transport and caused the nearby Scout Tower to sway in the wind. The second one destroyed that too. The Sith scouts barely had to look up before the Starfighters tore into the ridge lines. Causing the Darkside ranks to be torn apart by fire and ash.

~ "All personnel, prepare for landing." ~

Six dropships escorted by gunship, pushed hard on the brakes and came to a harsh landing. A combat landing. The GR commando teams disembarked with a huff and the dropships took again to the red skies. Dishing out another healthy helping of laser fire across the battered northern dig site.

Karen Roberts of Denon dismounted her transport last. Letting the soldiers go first to clear and sweep the entrance checkpoint to the dig site. She was dressed in her black Apostate coat and carried no weapons outside her vestment. Here. She wouldn't need them.

"Sith Knights incoming."

The commandos called out. Ah. Sith Magi. Good. Karen nodded as her feet carried her past the broken gateway.

Breakfast.

.....

Fifteen minutes later the northern dig site was a smoldering mess of spent ammunition of gloriously accurate fallen ordinance. The darkside vehicles were smashed asunder, their fortifications bombed to hell, and their scientific personnel was either captured or killed already. The body of the last Sith Knight slumped to the ground with a harsh thud to the rocky earth. His armored chest still smoking for the trained hits of over a dozen laser rounds to center mass. Karen let her outstretched hand fall back to her side and released her spell upon the lumpen body. She wouldn't need to hold him in place any longer. The commandos had hit their mark. He was as dead as they get now anyways.

The brunette's eyes returned to the skies to watch the gunships nod to their quick victory. No. These soldiers would be needed elsewhere now. No need to remain.

She nodded to their Captains as the commando teams reboarded their shuttles with their victory and their prisoners. Closing the bay doors and lifting off for transport to other hotspots around the planet. The dig site was a ruin now. A smoldering heap of burning blackguards and blasted landmasses. Nothing left out here to kill anyway. Mission complete. Well...

Almost.

Karen watched from the burning dig site gateway as the last of the dropships faded from view. The air trails of the starfighters already long gone. She was alone now. Just one woman among the wreckage of the past. Only Karen and the burning corners of the pit remained. An open pit from whence the Sith had hoped to dig up a dark, dark relic of a very distant past. Shards of the Obelisk of Ambria.

"Shards of an Obelisk eh? ...Mm, interesting."

She turned her head from the entrance way and stepped over another smoking body. Turning to peer down towards the hole at the center of the pit,

"Okay little black ones. Let's just see what you've found down here, shall we?"

Dune would've preferred to not be within 100 meters of Lake Naath. He wished he were exploring the abandoned Enclave. It made his skin crawl to feel the Dark Side radiate off the murky waters. He felt cold despite the heat of the wastes.

The life of a Jedi wasn't one of comfort. It wasn't about always doing what you wanted to. It was about doing what must be done. Even if it was extremely unpleasant.

A block of sorts had been erected around the shores. Not a block a being without the Force could see. It was in fact a sort of dome of Light. It was evident at some point that Jedi had done this.

More recent historical accounts were unclear and were filled with supposition. When it had been done specifically was as much a mystery as by whom it'd been done. Such had been a price of the dark times. Ignorance usually followed the dark.

Dune wasn't sure if the Jedi had merely intended to contain the nexus. It may have been a backup plan when their attempt to cleanse it failed. The black power had deep roots and was clearly ancient. This wasn't going to be easy.

The Kitsune like padawan was moving and she was up there near the Bith master, she didn't really know him but having a master here to work on some of the things just in case as she could feel the force energies all radiating off of the lake. The world was just radiating with the force and its feeling made her stomach growl in hunger for getting something to snack on. She was eating some of the jerky now walking with the master while her ears twitched going around the lake to try and hear if any of the darksider dragons were walking to try and sneak up on them. "So master, do we have any idea what might be here at the lake? I know some of the jedi have been doing things to recharge and keep the darkside back."

"Muja fruit tihaar, please"

The male Zeltron seemed eager to serve a serving of muja fruit tihaar for not only her but also for himself. He seemed eager to follow military figures in the media, watching for any significant troop activity, battlefield movements and the like. He seemed rather happy that the Republic was not the only place in the galaxy where there was action between the light and the dark. He thought that hitting up the vendor in small talk about that was a good idea. Probably because Charzon herself was involved in that particular bit on Kuat, with Star Tours having been involved in two major criminal acts: one on Morellia and the other on Kuat. First Order state media tended to talk about these as criminal acts rather than as acts of war, and Dunames had to act upon it on Hoth last Charzon heard about Star Tours business. Even though Taking Off on a Star Tour usually refrained to talk about crime, Kuat was just too big for their ability to cover up their criminal involvement...

"I believe, Charzon, that the way the media portrayed your role in this has been unfair: you led the operation, yet Celiana, Jaster, Silas and Jessica are more celebrated than you were"

"Unfortunately, I hate the way the Ringovindian media, especially Battleon Town News, seemed to portray the raid: they portrayed it in an orgy of patriotism, while even Zeltron media don't seem to make nearly as big a deal. And since Taking Off on a Star Tour is partially based on Ringo Vinda, part of the staff is indulging in the same orgy"

"What exactly was that you were after?"

"Starship schematics. The goal for us was to build a bulk freighter that is 2km-long, capable of serving as medical, prison, starliner, carrier, bulk freighter or even mining ship. Jessica's superhuman zeal led us to the raid, thinking that, if the One Sith brought her down, she may as well bring a few at KDY down with her"

"But why was Jessica so adamant about attacking KDY?"

"She wanted to exact revenge on Kuat Drive Yards after KDY scrapped a landing gear project; she thought that building Star Destroyers up to 2000m in size capable of landing on planets would be feasible, using variable-geometry landing gears at that. Up to that point we built ships up to 1 km long, and the Maersk-class ship caused them to lose market share in the civilian freighter market"

"Do me a favor and bring me to Jessica sometime"

The Past...

[1/25]

Travot leaned up against the bulkhead of their transport, watching a pair of younger padawans spar with training sabers. The first one, a green-skinned rodian male no more than eight, prodded and poked at his opponent more out of curiosity than aggression. The second one, a young female perhaps several years older than the first, gently batted away the other hits in a basic and unrefined version of Soresu. It almost seemed to Travot that he was watching a pair of two week old puppies fight. More adorable than terrifying, though in same ways, the fact that they had started their own training so young terrified the susevfian. As a late inductee into the order, he had started his own lightsaber training in his late teens. It seemed utterly bewildering to him the combatants in front of him may have had more time training with a lightsaber than had he. He felt a familiar presence brush up against him as Yrees leaned up against the wall next to him.

"Who do you think will win?" asked the younger man.

"Avaro," said Ravenna, nodding his head at the rodian, "Hala has better form, but she doesn't have the right...attitude? It's hard to win when you're always on the defensive."

A smile crept across the other man's bronzed face, "Is that why you decided to learn Makashi?"

"One of the reasons."

"I have never sparred with you using that style."

"Perhaps not," smirked Travot, "but I remember our last match still."

"Well, you didn't win that skill with a saber...though I will grant that your swordplay prevented your defeat. I wonder though..."

"Are you looking for a rematch?"

"If you are willing."

Travot glanced at his chrono, "We have some time before we'll near Ambria. I suppose it won't hurt to warm up just a little bit..."

Safiriel smiled gently "No I don't think they are the type to have too many traps up and about" She murmured as she looked about. She had watched Ayumi's people setting up defenses and shelters across the planet as they descended down to where she was now, quite intriguing really what they were going to find. It was a good thing though, that they were helping planetside. Zeltros was having problems, and the Republic was finally helping

Ayumi gave a her a nod of her head to that idea while she was moving throughout the pathway as some reports were coming in for them. "Maybe but you never know, I saw on Arkania some sith used the arkanian labs as tombs keeping the defenses for their projects to defend it like leeches." She turned over a few things bringing out a mapper with her duster and the proto mesh when the toolkit turned going for the sonic mapper option they had developed. "We might find some secret thing a jedi or sith set up in case they wanted to hide a great secret." Ayumi said it with a wink on her face before giving all of her attention to Safiriel with a wink. "Maybe some super secret zeltron grooto where they had all the naked women."

She stood at the edge of the crater. Surrounded by digging equipment, diamond hard drills, and a levered crane of immense size. No doubt this was the exact same crane machine the Sith had hoped to elevator up the Shard of Ambria with. Interesting.

Karen moved to the crane's control box and fired up the large equipment. Slowly swinging the cage and it's heavy arm over the pit. Then lowering the cage just enough so that she could step inside. This would her elevator down into the depths of the Sith excavation. Mmm. It was time to see what the dark ones had discovered.

It was time to go down into the deep.

.....

HiveRoof_zpspus8zjcs.png

Roberts exited the elevator's bars and stepped out into a whole new subterranean worldscape. Down here, below the edges of the northern dig. Below the crust of Ambria. Lay an entire sanctum to the once mighty Obelisk. Not just one shard, but five colossal structures.

"My my. Haven't we been busy little bees?"

The air was fowl with the stench of gore and new rot. The rocky ground, sticky. As if covered in some sort of slime or animal-excreted residue. Ugh. Gross. The lighting to the giant underground cavern was provided by green flickering torches. Eternal torches. Granting their sickly never-ending flames to all who visited this place. It was a dark place. A dank place. Deep within the bowels of the Darkside.

"Nasty..."

Karen scoffed. Then made her way to the center of the cavern. Stepping up a flight of sickly black stairs and rising upon a dark platform. Covered in dark jagged metals and edged with sharp blades. A ritual spot for shadows and shadow kind. She dared not ponder it's ancient use. So things were too grotesque to ponder. Even for the Jedi mind.

"Well. They appear to have somehow embedded the five shards into the ceiling? Fascinating. Could be trouble getting them down. Poo."

She looked around the chamber. Attempting to see past the fog and shadows that lingered in this giant place. Shrouding the massive expanse in chills and in clouds of black stillness. What a terrible place indeed. A never-ending lake of shadows.

"I'll need to explore a bit. Find a way to leverage those shards from the roof. ...Mmm. Maybe a control panel? Let's see. Need more light."

Karen gave a wave of her wrist and summoned a floating ball of glorious light. The tiny orb exploded into a lasting wave of luminous white fire. Bathing her surroundings and the black shadows beyond in white heavenly flame.

"Ah. Much better."

Gird now with her magical torch, the brave Force Master decended deeper into the caverns. Concerned only for the five Shards of Darkness that remained stoically lodged in the ruins above her. She explored the cavern's many jagged and sticky floors with a frown and a twist. This was a temple to the darkness. A cavern in the deep. This place,

A pale shine to madness.

"Unfortunately a 2km-long freighter that can serve so many purposes at once may be too much for us, even if we were to use it as a carrier. Is there anything else you think we could get a use for?"

"If you want minesweeping vehicles or bombers capable of dropping heavy bombs, Ringovinda StarYards is the place to go. And also said ordnance"

"Who is using these things?"

"You should rather ask yourself who would use mines! Heavy bombs can be used to attack heavy vehicles"

"Coruscant showed us that even Sith factions would use minefields, even though they usually shy away from these in ground combat"

And it also showed the Alliance how crucial Ugohr and, by extension, the Army of Malastare, was to them: since Operation Blackout, the Alliance High Command decided not to deploy the Army of Malastare unless there was a rather strong suspicion of a minefield present on the planet's surface. To the Alliance, the Army of Malastare was crucial because it was their only minesweeping unit: not even the main Legions (none of the 1st, 5th and 7th have any to Charzon's knowledge) or the Omega Pyre forces have any. With Ugohr promised the command of the 1st or the 7th Legion upon knighting, when the current commanding officers of either the 1st or the 7th would gain the command of the I Corps (both Legions, plus possibly the 2nd) and the current Army of Malastare would most likely be absorbed into the legion Ugohr will end up taking the command and the Army of Malastare name will then be applied to the entire division-sized Legion. And, of course, headquartered and based on Malastare.

"Good stars this lake is nasty!" I mutter. "Whose idea was it to make this into a trash pit for decomposed bodies? No wonder the Sith are insane."

I would pinch my nose if I could. Air scrubbing wouldn't even get the awful smell out. I look at the Jedi pacing around the lake. Guard duty for Jedi is always interesting. Just too bad I didn't get to have all the fun like the other commandos. They went to an obelisk and devastated the enemy guard forces. I'm here at a nasty lake with a couple other commandos. They don't talk much and I haven't heard of any of them.

I walk to the edge of the vile lake and kneel by it. I sling my new rifle over my shoulder and inspect the water. It's murky and dark. Black muck floats around in the gray waters. There's a dark presence or feeling here that even I can feel on some level of myself. Disgusting.

Ayumi continued throughout the system as sounds were coming to her. There wasn't much since the One Sith had attaced. Just a lot of destruction going all over the place before she was moving with some of her attention. "This is looking interesting." Ayumi said it while pushing forward with a little more until she rose up from one of the tunnels and was on the surface back where she started. Walking with her hands behind her back as the undercroft seemed a waste but she could do her senator duty and go meet some of the local flavors. She knew a great many zeltron jedi and had seen a few others here and there. Most acted like fools but the good ones showed more control then most others.

Lake Naath, Ambria

The Bith turned to regard the Padawan Shapo stepping beside him. Was she eating even now? Apprentices were strange creatures. He couldn't have eaten if he was paid to right now.

"I don't know exactly what's in the Lake, but whatever it is, it's been twisted by the Dark Side for thousands of years."

He nodded at her observation.

"Jedi have come periodically to reinforce the barrier, yes. Over time, it wears down with the Dark Side grinding away."

He didn't think that they'd be able to cleanse things. Not with so few Jedi present. They'd be able to push the negative energy in by a marginal amount. To cleanse this entirely would require Grandmaster Skywalker, Grandmaster Yoda and several other great Jedi to boot.

She was looking at him and there were sounds from others throughout the world, attention to the details while she was moving over many of the things there. finsihing and securing away form of the food while she held a piece in her mouth with a small nod of her head. She understood that it was mostly containing it rather then somehow removing it or curing the world of it. A lot of evil in the history books had been contained so it wouldn't be across the entire world instead into just a super small well lake small area on the planet when she smiled. "It is supposed to be the ghosts of the sith or their spirits... If my people had ben here then we might have been able too solve the problem but it is questionable. "Hmm," he considered aloud.

"I've heard that as well. I've also heard that a Sith experiment well terribly wrong. Perhaps the truth lies somewhere between the two."

The Bith looked back over to Shapo.

"Your people might've stopped this?," he asked with mild surprise "Who are your people and what would they have done?"
