OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Phare de château – Beacon Castle.

  • Classification: Castle Manor.

  • Location: IllyriaGarde Noire providence.

  • Affiliation: Xobos Yakieer Xobos Yakieer , Leven Jeyd Leven Jeyd , Cali Ziiva Cali Ziiva , Adron Malvern Adron Malvern

  • Accessibility: The manor, Phare de château, is located at the back of the developed part of the Garde Noire providence. With the providence being naturally guarded by mountain ranges on their north and eastern borders, along with a forested region on their western border, the only easy entrance into the town is from the south. The manor itself can only be accessed from one main road, guarded quite well, or by climbing over the surrounding mountains. With only one landing pad, the road is the best way to the manor for large groups, making the accessibility easier to control. Inside, a mix of Xobos’ personal guard and Illyrian Planetary Peace Officers guard the halls, and the Sieur herself is no pushover, haven risen to the rank of Knight of Illyria and soon to be Sith Knight.

  • Description: Framed by the gorgeous mountains on all sides, Phare de château’s white walls contrast gorgeously with the green foliage of the mountain range. Multiple tall towers reach out toward the heavens, giving the entire castle have a larger feeling. Out back, a large section of the forest has been cleared out and gardens planted to replace it. Guards can been seen patrolling the grounds, and beasts, Maalraas, guarding the manor at night. Unlike the King before her, Xobos has made sure the castle can be seen at night, lit up like a beacon, giving her people something to look to.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Castle Exterior
fpJjYnj.jpg

The entrance to Phare de château, Beacon castle, can be practically seen from the very edge of Garde Noire. It’s white exterior, worn down by only the wear and tear of time, lends insight into the name of the castle. The former king proclaimed this providence a shining beacon to all the others, that hard work, honesty, and loyalty to the king would earn them favor in the afterlife. Even after this passing, and with Xobos Yakieer the new charge, she made sure the castle still stood for the values that Garde Noire had been founded upon in the first place. The exterior is also decorated with numerous foliage, trees, and other greens that, while had grown unruly while the castle was without a ruler, Xobos decided to keep around, after being trimmed back. The color they added was a nice change from the completely white exterior, in her opinion.

Gardens
P1010971.JPG

One of the very first renovations that Xobos Yakieer pursued with moving into the manor was the gardens. The former king didn’t care too much for the upkeep, so much of the garden, even before his death, had either been extremely simple or overgrown. As soon as the Sith Knight moved to the providence, this was one of her first changes. Not only did she pull up the majority of the dead plants, but she had destroyed some of the smaller sheds to open up even more space. In their place a small pool was set into the ground, only a short walk from the back of the manor. An opening to north, east, and west of the pool grounds lead to the training and meditation areas, being wide stretches of well cut grass.

Landing pad

Near the back entrance to the castle, far enough away from the gardens as to not disturb them too much, a small landing pad has been cut into the surrounding forest area. Large enough to accommodate a shuttle of moderate size, or two small starfighters, the landing pad functions well for the personal use of Xobos and the others that live at the manor. The pad functions as well as a refueling area, with a large tank situated to the side that is refueled as necessary by a ship that comes from the capital city.

Front Entrance
4nq8ARg.jpg

The front entrance to Phare de château excintuates the changes that Xobos has made to the once formerly dimly lit castle. What used to be a hallway characterized by flickering lamp lights now is lit by the massive windows at the end of the hall, free from the heavy curtains that once covered them. Now, natural light fills the hallways, creating a welcoming environment that even the lowest of miners would feel comfortable in approaching.

Libraries
UrIk03D.jpg

A major point of the renovation of the manor was to change many of the rooms to fit Xobos’ more sith centered needs. One of the few places that were not touched much were the manor’s expansive libraries that the former king had built up. Outside of living them up a bit, Xobos’ thirst for knowledge was only livened by the thousands of books that she had not yet read. Adron Malvern Adron Malvern , her master, also made sure to include a shipment of sith alchemy and history books when Xobos first told him of her plans. Even now, moved away, he makes sure that she keeps up with her studies.

Music Room
ZxES5E6.jpg

There was a time when Xobos would have locked the manor’s music rooms or had them cleared out, but that was before Leven Jeyd Leven Jeyd became her apprentice. On a trip to the capital, the Sieur found out just how precious music was to her apprentice. Because of this, one of the surprises that she created for the changeling was unlocking and cleaning the music rooms. Music balls, touchboards, synthtones, and many more instruments were among the devises Xobos found and complied so that her Jester could feed her love of everything music.

Guard Quarters
G4uU5xU.jpg

The guard quarters of the manor are one of the few places within that the technological upgrades and renovations of the rooms make it so that the original layout is barely noticeable. Aside from the stone walls that can still be seen, the guard quarters of the manor, located in the lower parts of one of the towers, contains technology that allows Xobos to feel a sense of calm about the preparedness of her guard. The best security technology Illyria can offer, along with a few work benches to allow the men to upgrade and maintain their equipment whenever time allows.

Maalraas Den
hISQDIh.jpg

A furious trial when Xobos first arrived to the Garde Noire providence to win the favor of her people left the sith with a pack of Maalraas, along with a single Great Maalraas to take care of. A mishap when renovating the manor’s roof unveiled the existence a massive cave near that extended to the very back of the property. When the Maalraas are not roaming about the gardens, they seem to enjoy congregating here, lounging where they can hide from the harsh Illyrian sun.

Dining Hall
WeImO1J.jpg

Phare de château has two main dining rooms, one for larger parties and another for more personal dining experiences. Both are connected to a kitchen relative to their size. While Xobos does utilize the personal dining room from time to time, especially when Cali Ziiva is on planet, the sith will often take her dinners in her personal quarters.

Training rooms

Outside of the guard quarters, no room in the manor has undergone more technological upgrades than the training rooms. As a sith, a younger one still, Xobos is almost constantly expanding on and sharpening her skills. When not in the mines with her people, out on a mission with her master or apprentice, or entertaining some guest, the sounds of lightsaber against hardened chassis of the magnaguard droids can be heard echoing outside the room. While to her knowledge Leven has not taken up the same need to train that she possesses, the training room is also open to the apprentice for whenever she feels called to train. Magnaguards are the typical opponent, donated by, again, Xobos’ master, Adron Malvern Adron Malvern . Other times, guards will flow into the room to challenge the charge of the providence and her apprentice. Betting is typically a common sight at these impromptu matches, with sums reaching up to a week’s worth of pay. It also become a local rule to make sure that Leven Jeyd Leven Jeyd , the Jester, isn’t involved in the bets because of how often she can cook the winnings.

Cali's ( Cali Ziiva Cali Ziiva ) Personal Room
uAp0iVZ.png

One of the two full time livers in the castle outside of Xobos’ and the guards, Cali Ziiva Cali Ziiva ‘s room can best be described by plush. The fluffiest of pillows, softest of sheets, and silky of curtains all strewn about in the only room in the castle colored as such. The room, however, doesn’t have a constant user. This isn’t due to the Zeltron being on the planet, but sometimes the woman does fall asleep in her personal workshop. Either that, or she sneaks into Xobos’ room across the hall for some late night snuggles. Not that the sith minds too much. She wouldn’t have put the woman’s room across the hall if that was the case.

Jester's ( Leven Jeyd Leven Jeyd ) Personal Room
filippas_bedroom.jpg

Leven Jeyd is a…interesting apprentice to say the very least. When given the opportunity to pick any room in the manor to make into her own, Xobos could not have imagined that the changeling would pick the cramped, dusty room at the very top of one of the towers. The junk was cleared out, but that seemingly did little to alleviate the cramped feeling of the room, but Leven seems to like that. Whatever makes her apprentice happy, Xobos supposes. As the girl continues to grow as a sith apprentice, she seemingly continues to fill the small room with more and more trinkets of their travels and missions.

Xobos' Personal Room
mAkUVwo.jpg

There was never a time when Xobos was very frugal or needed much. While living in the Dragonne Palace with her master, her room featured little more than a cot, meditation mat, a wardrobe for any clothing and a workbench for her weapons and armor. Her room in Garde Noire is little different from her old quarters. The only furniture additions are a small couch, fireplace, and a holotv for both her and Cali to enjoy from time to time. Any trinkets or trophies are stored in her personal study, leaving her bedroom as a place to escape to when the sith needs a way to clear her mind.

Guest Quarters
LX2Pv6l.jpg

Garde Noire, while beginning to become a production juggernaut, still is relatively small in the scope of Illyrian politics. Due to this, there aren’t many times that a guest comes to the providence and needs to stay overnight. Beacon Castle is still prepared for this, however, with multiple guest rooms updated with sufficient technology and fitted for a supreme level of comfort. The comfort of her guests is a major of focus for Xobos, because as her master has said, “there is no time better to strike at the heart of a man than when they are comfortable.”

Cali’s ( Cali Ziiva Cali Ziiva ) Personal laboratory
Q3StlG7.jpg

Nicknamed, “The Pit,” or “The room we never, ever go in,” by the guards, Cali’s personal laboratory is situated near the back of the manor. It’s nicknames have been earned by the wild experiments that are done in laboratory, resulting in the sounds of explosions and metal tearing apart night and day when the Zeltron is at work. Xobos did her to fill the lab with as much fun and expensive tech as Cali could want, which was only supplemented by the Zeltron bringing her own toys from Naboo. Sometimes, the sith will make her way down to the lab just to watch Cali work, or attempt to mediate while she does so, just to challenge herself to push through the crashing.

Xobos’ Personal Laboratory
4m38XEE.jpg

Her bedroom may be sparse and spartan, but Xobos’ personal laboratory is anything but. Trophies from her time touring the galaxy as Adron Malvern Adron Malvern ‘s apprentice litter the shelves. Vials, books containing sith alchemy, and liquids of interest origin fill the rest of the space. Once she moved to Garde Noire, Xobos’ interest with Sith Alchemy grew and grew, taking many trips to Dragonne Palace to borrow even more books on the subject. Cali doesn’t visit the room much, citing the scary colors that come from the room when Xobos is working.

Secret exits
ObMQ3mr.jpg

Hidden throughout the manor exists many, many different secret exits and escape rooms that the former king of the providence put in. During his time, he accrued quite the few disingenuous people who had ill intentions for him, so regular upkeep of the manor was set aside for the express purpose of putting in as many escape rooms as possible. Even to this day, having lived in the manor for a couple of months now, Xobos still finds new rooms every so often. Leven has seemingly made it her job to seek out these rooms with the express purpose of annoying her master to no end. Thankfully, the girl is still marked, so finding her is not too much trouble, as much the Jester thinks it is.

SECURITY

Security Level: High

  • Illyiran Viper Gunship (3)
    • Hidden in the forest hills around the castle, ready to be activated and flown in a moments notice if needed. Otherwise, they stay deactivated.
  • Illyrian Planetary Peace Officers (25)
    • 25 peace officers are rotated between the providence and the capital, guarding the castle alongside the full time guard for two weeks at a time.
  • Phare de château guards (15)
    • Men and women put together by Xobos’ personal choice, brought to the castle to live and guard there. Due to their high level of skill, they are also utilized for regular training days with the Sith and her apprentice.
  • Pack of Maalraas (13) and Sabatora, Great Maalraas (1)
    • Nicknamed, Mistress of Shadowcats, Xobos has the company and protection of a pack of Maalraas on the castle grounds. All follow her mental commands, including the single Great Maalraas, Sabatora, whom it was necessary to break mentally through the force before the beast bowed to her command.
  • Deflector shield (1)
    • When first moving into the manor, Adron Malvern Adron Malvern provided the Sith with a portable deflector shield in case the providence was attacked from orbit. Since it is not in regular use, the shield generator is stored in the guard quarters until use, meaning it will take a few minutes to set up if needed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Phare de château’s history is almost as long as Garde Noire’s itself, for one of the first buildings fully erected on the providence’s property was the castle. The miners that moved into the town could only stare, wordlessly at the manor’s perfectly kept white walls, high reaching towers, and pruned hedges. It seemingly stood out as a beacon among the trees, calling out the mining societies of Illyria that Garde Norie had arrived, and prosperous days were ahead.

And for a while, that was exactly what happened. The town prospered and grew around the manor, gaining more and more recognition around the world. One mining shaft turned into two, and two turned into four, and before the second year of the providence was up, Garde Noire had nine fully functioning mines. They mined every component necessary for the creation of durasteel, ready to ship off to the capital for processing. As Illyria continued to develop, so did the small town, and before long, they even received a seat in the prestigious Illyrian Mining Society. King Georges Hector, the man who envisioned it all, brought in the riches from his work.

All the while, the castle continued to expand. A second and third tower were added, and the white stone steps were extended farther toward the main road, allowing for the King to give the appearance that he was welcoming his people. That effort was appreciated deeply by his people, who loved the King deeply for all that he had done. He, in turned, loved his people, but not for the reasons why they might’ve thought. Hector did not love Garde Noire, he loved the money the providence brought in.

That greed would soon become the downfall of the quickly expanding town. By the end of the third year, Hector revealed to the town his newest plan, a factory. No longer would they have to send the raw materials to the capital, but instead, could create the entirety of the durasteel here. They would become the biggest producer of durasteel on the planet, and all other towns on the planet would bow down to them.

What he didn’t tell his people was that he had taken out a loan with some very unsavory folks to complete the construction of factory, and when the money ran dry before it was even completed, the King attempted to get out of his contract. The castle began to fall into disrepair, mirroring the King’s deteriorating mental and physical state. Before the end of the fourth year, the town was gripped by the news that the King had died in his sleep. They were not told how he died, a secret that is kept from them to this day.

Without the King, both the providence and manor seemingly fell into ruin overnight. Nine mines turned into one barely functioning mine, and the castle laid baren and empty. That was, until a new Sieur moved in. Xobos Yakieer.

Now, after winning the confidence of a people that did not want her, who were on the verge of leaving, the providence and castle are beginning to become the beacon they once were again. Even if the King did not love the people for the right reasons, he did want to see Garde Noire grow. With Xobos now leading the providence from Phare de château, there is a chance that that dream might see the light of day once again.

This looks cool, but I have seen some small issues. The link that you give for the first garden image doesn't seem to have the image in it, and the images in the link for the training rooms seems to have busted images. The link for Jester's Personal Room is also not being found. Also, much less of an issue than the other's, while Guest Room's link does work and give you the image, it was almost impossible to find. I would suggest this link instead: https://heavyrain.fandom.com/wiki/Lauren_Winter's_apartment
