Public Orion's Belt (Character Intro)

Orion stepped off of the cargo dock and onto Nar Shaddaa. He was quite a way away from home. He was used to the dingy-but-stoic islands and factories of his homeworld. This place, though similar in its sprawling urban cityscape, reeked of hedonism and an utter lack of inhibitions. Vices flowed like cheap stim-wine here, and crimes happened in between everything else. He thumbed his belt - flushly lined with spending money from his last job - and knew he was going to like it here. He stalked the filthy corridors and catwalks like a kid in a candystore, wondering which cantina or den or flophouse to try first.

"-and stay there."

Jerec staggered up from a crouch, wiping his mouths. He cracked his neck, a bit of an endeavor if you were an Ithorian, and clipped the Jedi's lightsaber to his belt. The Jedi Knight in question was a bone-pale Arkanian and had been, until recently, a bit of a snot. Well, he'd probably still be a snot tomorrow.

In a fit of mercy, Jerec gave the Jedi space to pick himself up and limp away down an alley. "Hey," Jerec called after him. "What's black and blue and white all over?"

A passing Gank chittered.

Jerec cradled his very sore ribs. "Watch yer mouth, killer, it wasn't that funny."

Nar shadda. The place where things all started for him back when he was first released from carbonite all those years ago. In a way, it sparked The Founding of the Lilaste Order. Granted, at the time, he was more in the mindset of serving his sentence to atone for the sins he had done, though he wasn't here for happy memories if you could call them that anyway. He was here on business; the order he had worked so hard to build was still plowing through resources faster than they could be acquired. And so when the old ship, The Conquests Agenda, set down on the all too familiar landing pad. The dragon-like male went down the ramp wearing his Customized Set of LO-56A MKII. with his Broad Saber mag locked to his belt accompanied by five soldiers wearing similar LO-56A MKII armor. Two of the soldiers driving some sort of small transport fract with four large crates stacked on top. The order was here on business after all.

Orion notices the injured Ithorian and raises his eyebrows, noticing the rod that Jerec just clipped to his belt and the enrobed, defeated figure limping off into an alleyway. He winces at the sound of Jerec's neck cracking, sounding to him like a lothcat falling down a flight of stairs.
"Need any help sir?" He offers, stunned, glancing at the serious looking wound on the grizzled Ithorian's lower chest.

"Me? You should see the other guy." Jerec flapped out his shirt for a better look at the lightsaber burn, a shallow graze but painful, across his ribs. "Eesh. Ah feth..."

The last exclamation was prompted by the sight of Laphisto Laphisto , five soldiers, and a cargo transport coming down the road.

And wouldn't you know it, that Arkanian Jedi was back. He seemed to have taken Laphisto for a fellow Jedi and was asking for help. Help getting his lightsaber back from a certain disreputable Ithorian maybe twenty meters down the road.

Jerec tried to look innocent. Not an easy thing to do with a stolen lightsaber at your belt.

He unclipped it and tossed it to Orion "Ironsides" Madh Orion "Ironsides" Madh . "Here, take this."

Laphisto continued his path forward, datapad in hand, before looking up at the Arkanian approaching. The three forward guards were brandishing LO-18D rifles firmly in their grasp and aiming them forward at the individual. Laphistos gazed at the man over as a flash of blue flicked along his eyes, his arms crossing over his chest as he peered into the man as they approached, testing and pulling at their alignment to the force. He sat and listened to the Arkanian as they spoke, his head softly shaking with a small chuckle. " that is no business of mine, if you are unable to get your lightsaber back from a simple man then you were not worthy of the blade, to begin with"

shaking his head he waved the man off as he went " you have the most powerful tool in the galaxy, and you refuse to use it that is no fault of my own" looking over laphisto glanced towards Jerec Asyr Jerec Asyr and Orion "Ironsides" Madh Orion "Ironsides" Madh as he approached. granted he may not have had a reason to interact with them, unless they gave him a reason to anyway.

Orion looks around frantically, concocting plan in his brain. "Throw the lightsaber over the balcony, jump into the crowd." He repeaed it to himself mentally once or twice before he worked up the courage to do it, at which point he threw the ligtsaber into the crowd and jumped over the balcony, and realized that he had royally messed up as the chaotic void of Nar Shadaa rushed up to meet him.

Laphisto watched the two interact before hearing Jerec Asyr Jerec Asyr shout and point to Orion "Ironsides" Madh Orion "Ironsides" Madh before raising a brow at the man, watching as the lightsaber was thrown into the crowd, and they then Jumped over the balcony. Genuinely, he wasn't one to step in and interfere. If a man wanted to kill themselves, then by all means, it wasn't his business. though he had a bad feeling about the situation his intuition getting the better of him as he jogged quickly to the side of the railing. Reaching out with force and promptly grabbing the man as he fell, catching him with a small audible grunt.

Two of the soldiers that accompanied him followed suit, waiting on standby as the Kiev'arian pulled the man back up over the railing that. he had promptly jumped over. The two soldiers helping to grab and pull the man over fully "Listen im all for understanding wanting to leave Nar Shaddaa, but surely there are more steps before suicide no?"

No pursuit materialized. After half a block, or what passed for a block on Nar Shaddaa, Jerec realized he might, perhaps, have misread certain elements of the situation. A gap between two structural elements showed Laphisto Laphisto and his guards hauling Orion "Ironsides" Madh Orion "Ironsides" Madh to safety. The Arkanian Jedi was nowhere in sight. Neither — Jerec squinted — was the lightsaber.

Go back to reclaim it and risk a rematch with the Jedi or other interested parties? Try to snag that cargo sled from its two onboard guards? Cut his losses and leave? Tough calls all around. In the end, the deciding factor was the number of blaster rifles involved. Those guards looked serious.

Jerec slunk away into the Nar Shaddaa alleyways and left. Not an optimal outcome but at least he'd beat the crap out of a Jedi, and that always brightened his day.

"There are, I just got em outta order. Lemme go."
