OPERATION IRON ECLIPSE

Following their defeat at the hands of the SITH ORDER at Brosi, the IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION has gone through a process of reflection and reorganization, focusing inwards to correct their mistakes and emerge stronger than ever before ready to confront a galaxy that grows ever more hostile towards them.

With the conclusion of the CHOLGANNA NAVAL CONFERENCE and the implementation of major naval reforms, the Confederation now aims to reach a state of total military readiness as to ensure that the Imperial Armed Forces will be prepared for their next confrontation against whomever might stand against it.

From the world of Cholganna, the Confederation has launched OPERATION IRON ECLIPSE. Designed as a series of war games within a mock battlefield based on Brosi, using elements of the Dark Empire’s OPERATION STARBIRD SNARE as a basis for the exercise. Thus the brave personnel of the Imperial Armed Forces converge on Cholganna, eager to hone their skills and prepare themselves for the next major campaign, ready to bring glory to the Confederation.

Operation: Iron Eclipse is a large-scale military exercise conducted by the Imperial High Command within the confines of a mock battlefield designed to resemble that of Brosi, where Imperial Forces once confronted the Sith Order for supremacy over the Planet. Overseen by the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Armed Forces Marlon Sularen, the operation aims to enhance Imperial forces' proficiency in combat, testing their ability to secure strategic objectives crucial for securing and maintaining control over vast portions of territory during intense planetary invasions.

Throughout this military exercise, Imperial personnel will encounter a myriad of obstacles and adversities as arranged by the Supreme Commander who will be personally controlling opposition forces in the form of Automated Units wielding non-lethal ion weaponry. In order to overcome the challenges brought forth by the Supreme Commander, Imperial personnel will have to coordinate with one another and work to find unique solutions to the many unique problems that will be thrown their way.

Operation Iron Eclipse is consisted of three separate objectives, each designed to test different aspects of the capabilities of the Imperial Armed Forces with the objectives being the following :

MOSHED-2025-9-23-20-30-44-ezgif-com-crop.gif

Another invasion loomed right around the corner. This time, the Imperial Confederation was the one under attack, and by the Galactic Empire that Aron wasn't there to defend the Jedi Temple against.

Regret still panged his heart. Not being there, not helping defend what was once his home against these dark invaders and defilers. Not being there as Solipsis declared his new order. Instead, he was here. And here wasn't all bad.
The TIC took a stand against the Sith Order itself. They were beaten back, but they tried. And that was better then anything anyone could have asked. As the shadow of the dark side continued to expand across the galaxy, his new home decided to take a stand and try to push back.

The defeat stung the ranks of their Confederation, but their spirits refused to dampen. Moving forward, showing growth, continuing to strive towards betterment and perfection of their Confederation, they began setting up these war games, so the taste of defeat would be one rarely suffered through, and hopefully never again.

This was why Aron was here. He needed practice, he needed training. He'd been in a few scraps before, but nothing as total as a no-holds barred slugmatch between two galactic contenders. A dust up between the Dark Empire and Onderonian partisans a few years ago on Iziz was the hairiest it ever got for Aron. But that wouldn't be the case much longer. Soon enough, total war would find them. This new Empire that rose in the core, that burned the Temple... It made it's intentions clear. It would reign supreme, and everything else was a pretender state. War was coming. Everywhere, and to everyone. It was only a matter of time.

. . .

Aron stood silently, his face blank of any emotion as he stared at the imposing megatower in the near distance. Crimson eyes roamed every inch of the structure scanning for any viable entrances or points of attack. He looked at it like a puzzle to be solved. Some dilemma with a solution that none could quite make out at first glance but on deeper inspection would reveal a truth. War wasn't quite like that, and he knew it. There wasn't an easy answer, one wholly above all correct approach to conflict. There was only ever good enough. A good enough solution to a puzzle didn't make sense to Aron. He chased that perfect answer. That unreproachable tactic that led to overwhelming victory. But it just wasn't possible. Not to the extent that he desired. No matter what decisions would be made, people would die in battle. Lives snuffed out like so many candles in a breeze. It was an inevitability that Aron just couldn't accept.

His jaw tensed and his eyes narrowed as he continued to scrutinize every aspect of the tower. Only once he finally pulled his gaze away did he become aware of the thunderous sound of his heart beating inside his chest. He placed a hand on the red-plate armor of the Imperial Knights and let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding before finally rejoining the rest of the assault team as they finished their preparations. The word had come down, the game was about to begin.

And that's all it was. A game. Something to build confidence. But Aron was treating it like it was real. He couldn't afford to just "oh well" any losses he sustained. Even if they'd get up afterwards. Every casualty to him was a failure. And Aron hated being a failure.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
OPERATION: IRON ECLIPSE
OBJECTIVE II: SEIZE THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION

Could have, would have, should have.

These were the thoughts racing through Ronhar's head as he and Reclaimer Squad deployed to the simulated battlefield of Brosi. Should he have gone into the Mega Tower like he had been ordered to? Could he have gone after the child like he wanted to? Would any of it had made a difference in the end?

Probably not, he had to concede. Still, this would at least be an exercise in alternatives. showing what might have been had Ronhar ignored his orders and gone after the shield generators instead of continuing toward his doomed expedition to the Mega Tower. Granted, the foresight he now had gave him the answer he needed, but he would still put his all into accomplishing the objectives laid out before him.

Their target was designated Aurek-1, a Zinsian processing plant that was designed to be a near perfect replica of the facilities found on Brosi. Though Ronhar had combed through the reports after the battle's conclusion, he had been unable to personally visit the facilities for obvious reasons, meaning that he was essentially going in blind. Hopefully, the technical readouts of the processing plant would prove sufficient for Reclaimer Squad's ability to navigate through the area.

As Ronhar's Stork Dropship landed amid unconvincingly light anti-aircraft fire, dozens of Storm Commandos and ARC Troopers streamed out of the starship, advancing toward their primary objective. Not that they were in any real rush or danger, of course, since all the "enemies" were simply advanced training droids with nonlethal ion weaponry. Though Ronhar understood the technical limitations of the Confederation's ability to simulate what happened on Brosi, he had to question the point of holding this exercise at all if it wasn't going to offer him the same experience he had gone through previously. Ronhar had pushed for the exercise to at least have been live fire, but had been denied his request.

So much for that.

Still, Ronhar pressed forward as if his life was in danger, exercising the same kind of tactical restraint that he would had this been a real battle. He and his men moved up cautiously, wanting to ensure that they were able to capture their objective with minimal "causalities". Exercise though this was, Ronhar was sure that the higher ups from the Imperial Confederation were watching his every move, undoubtedly wanting to see just how well Reclaimer Squad could perform against the other various squadrons that were participating today.

Ronhar would be sure to give them all a show that they soon wouldn't forget...

Bullfrog Team 9

Hemor and the rest of the team poured over the data from the battle... A fight they should have been in. But when your team is needed for stealth discreet operations one sometimes can't choose. The battle didn't go as planned, so the team made a plan to succeed with haste and stealth... their moniker.

He put his blue hand through his short black hair styling it to the side before clearing his throat. "Alright team. This is a training exercise to see if a round two can be successful. All our weapons are set to Ion, and we are facing droids. As we prepare to drop from hyperspace to engage our wonderful droids DI9s, Sh3r, and Grov working in conjunction have cloned our id to match that of enemy forces to them. And allied to our friends."

He paused for a while while looking at the four holo screen Grov had up with the two droids as his fingers clacked on his favorite physical keyboard.

"Everyone suit up, we have a half hour till landing."

The team was less talkative since the death of Fils on the Mission to contain the rogue artifact on that cursed station. He couldn't blame them, but they had a job to do.

The ship streaked through the sky to a landing pad Identity of the ship passing the digital marks as other groups started their attack elsewhere. The whole team minus Grov and the droids were ready to go down the ramp, but waiting instead. A few tense moments passed as everyone mentally collected themselves.

Finally word came on comms from Grov "I have the security footage looped, and local comms suppressed. You are good to go. We will be behind you an a few minutes."

With that Hemor gave the hand signal to go. The team in typical special forces stance, all weapons up and ready. They came down the ramp quietly taking out the guards with well placed Ion bolts. Before double checking the security of the landing pad.

Hemor breathed deeply This is going to be a workout. As Bullfrog team 9 down a man, moved quietly and meticulously to the door to go in.

The roar of the gunship's engines filled the paragon's ears as he soared toward the mock megatower. Captain Dieter Kovasch stood alone in silence; for once, he was not smoking a cigarillo, his helmet was already on, and his HUD was going through the last of its checks on his aging powered armor. The red glow of the jumplight painted him in a shade of blood. He flexed his hand, and his rocket pack whined to life; its power reserves were full and waiting. The doors opened just as the gunship began to tilt upwards toward the top of the megatower, just as Dieter had explained to the pilot prior to them taking off.

It took only a few moments, but when the jumplight turned green, he didn't hesitate. He gripped his rifle and took a step forward, plunging into the open sky, the weight of duraplast, duranium plate, and pure will plummeting towards the tower's roof. As he was falling, his HUD alerted him to several training droids on the roof that noticed him and were beginning to fire in his direction. Their non-lethal bolts streaked past him as he leveled his rifle towards them. His rifle barked in response to his trigger pulls, and with each controlled burst, he took droids down.

His HUD began to light up with warnings about terrain, and he pivoted his body as his rocket pack thundered to life, slowing his descent into a controlled impact. His heavy armored boots slammed into the duracrete with a crack that sent dust and rubble flying in multiple directions. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a droid moving into melee, and with trained precision, he grabbed his vibroblade and swung in a downward motion, cutting directly through the droid. With his other hand, he fired off a few more bursts into the remaining droids.

Now alone on the roof, he put his vibrosword back into its sheath along his back and clutched his rifle with both hands as he located the door that would lead him into the belly of the beast. He dropped to one knee as he pressed the forward trigger, launching a grenade at the door, blowing its hinges off.

From beneath the helmet, a deep voice permeated to no one but himself, "Come, machines... Breaker vill show you how paragons fight."
