PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Arm from elbow
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Resistances (Optional): This is suggested for Cybernetics and Bionics which can double as weapons or are made from very durable materials. (For each category choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, High, Very High, Extreme. Ratings of High, Very High, and Extreme will need to be added as strengths with elaboration.) Resistance Ratings Extreme will require the submission to be Semi-Unique and restricted to Player Characters only.
    • Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): High
    • Kinetic: Very High
    • Lightsabers: High
    • Elemental: High
    • Ion/EMP: Extreme
    • Disruptor: None
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Magnetic grip: The hand is equipped with Electromagnetic Grippers which can help the user cling to metallic surfaces or repulse away from them.
  • Grappling hook: The upper wrist is equipped with a grappling hook
  • Integrated comlink and databad: The upper side of the forearm has an integrated comlink and datapad
  • Storage: Part of the forearm is hollow and is well designed to store a lightsabre. This storage includes a propelling function that allows the user to quickly summon their weapon.
  • Iaso E-Skin: Allows for increased sensitivity and well integrated functions for the different utility mechanics of the arm. Gives it the appearance of a normal arm.
  • NZ MedPac Display: This device is integrated into the cybernetic arm near where the contact with the skin is and can be used to quickly apply the medpac to the user or, by opening a hatch, to someone else.
STRENGTHS
  • Ion/EMP Protection: The cybernetic arm offers extremely good protection against ion and EMP attacks and is extremely hard to disable through those means.
  • General protection: It is extremely sturdy and can withstand numerous attacks, whether they be blaster bolts or elemental effects. The arm can even withstand a glancing blow from a lightsabre. It is particularly well protected against kinetic attacks. A foe with a club or a vibrosword, for instance, would be hard pressed to damage it.
  • Utility packed: With an integrated comlink and datapad, the user will always have these technologies close at hand. It works well to hide weapons and with its many insulating layers, the weapon can even be hard to detect by scanners. The grappling hook offers the user much greater mobility and can even be used to capture foes. The magnetic grip can be useful if falling, trying to stick to a high speed vehicle or to hold on to a weapon.
  • Stability: The cybernetic arm offers the user way more stability than an average arm would and can make highly precise movements.
  • Bludgeoning: It's heavy nature and very strong armour allows it to be used as a bludgeoning weapon or tool.
  • High tech: With both its capacity to mimic real skin and easily apply healing capacities, the cybernetic is very high tech.
WEAKNESSES
  • Disruptors: Disruptors do damage onto this arms as if it completely lacked protections against them. This means that it protects against them as if it had been an organic arm, i.e. not at all.
  • Cybernetic: Despite its strong EMP protection, this is still a cybernetic arm and if an ion or EMP attack manages to breach its defences, it will deactivate and require a restart just like any other cybernetic. Seeing as this is a hand, that would be particularly detrimental.
  • Unprotected hatch openings: When the weapons or the MedPac hatch is opened, the arm is vulnerable to ion and EMP attacks. While it can open and eject the weapon in mere moments and the MedPac is relatively speedy too, it is still a significant weakness considering how impactful a successful attack during that moment would be.
  • Grappling hook: Without a built-in mechanic to cut the durable rope off, the grappling hook can be used against the source if a stronger foe can get hold of it. This is particularly risky if the hook is directed at said foe in an attempt to capture them.
  • Heavy: The cybernetic is heavier than average and takes more stamina to move around in.
  • Unprotected Skin: While the arm at large is extremely well protected against EMPs and ion attacks, the Iaso E-Skin falls outside of this protection and can still have its functions disabled by such attacks.
DESCRIPTION
After their fight, it was clear to Mathieu Brion that his friend, who seemed to be well on his way to redemption, was in serious need of a new arm. It is what motivated him to create the Cybernetic Utility Arm. Trust was not all too easy to come by immediately following their confrontation, but the hope was that this arm would serve as a good first step towards friendly relations and an easier time returning to the Jedi. With that in mind, Mathieu worked on creating as good of an arm as possible.

It's primary strength was how extremely well it protected against ion and EMP attacks - a traditional weakness many cybernetic limbs had as they could otherwise be disabled with devastating effects. A plethora of systems kept the arm from being affected by these attacks. At the end of the cybernetic where the machine met flesh, combat de-ionisers formed a protective shield to prevent effects stemming from the body from affecting the arm. Furthermore, a thin layer of silver threads lies underneath the arm's armour to act as a conduit that will lead away electromagnetic and ion effects from the arm at large to the de-ionisers. Additionally, a thin layer of rubber and insulfiber lay between the vulnerable electronics and the silver threads, forming an insulating layer that protects the arm even further. This means that the arm both has a hard and a soft defence against ion and EMP attacks.

The armour of the arm primarily consists of durasteel and duranium, both materials lie between the silver threads and the Iaso E-Skin. They have been worked thoroughly and for much longer than average, causing them to remain relatively thin but with an extraordinarily high density - this is one of the main reasons behind why the arm is heavier than average but not larger than average. This protection is primarily effective against kinetic attacks such as bashes, slashes or impacts from a fall from a greater height. But, even then, it offers relatively strong protection against environmental effects, energy attacks and even glancing hits from lightsabres. In a duel, it could by the user a few brief moments before breaking - but even a second or two can prove invaluable in such a scenario.

The arm is equipped with multiple tools which can come as a surprise, seeing as how it appears to be a normal organic arm from its appearance. A couple of these functions also introduces one of the arm's main weaknesses. Two hatches, one required for the weapon ejection function and the other to apply a medpac onto others, will leave the arm exposed to EMP and ion attacks for the duration that they or open. This allows those kinds of attacks to bypass the extreme defences against ion and EMP and makes the risk of being disabled real.

However, the tools bring upsides too. The hatch ensures that the user can always have a weapon close at hand. This weapon will also be rather well hidden as it will not have to hang on a belt and is relatively well protected from scanners as its compartment is underneath the protective layers. The NZ MedPac Display is useful to quickly and easily apply a medpac to the user or to somebody else - it is when it is applied to someone else that the hatch has to open which will leave the user vulnerable.

Furthermore, the arm's mag-grip function and grappling hook help to give the user more control as to where they are. The former can give them the capacity to stick or repulse away from a metallic surface while the latter can let them reach high places or swing across large gaps. They can also be used in alternate ways. The mag-grip function can, for instance, be used to hold on to a weapon with minimal risks of having it bashed away - it can also aid in capturing the flat side of a vibroblade. The grappling hook can be useful in capturing items or persons from a distance. This does, however, carry certain risks as the cybernetic arm is just as bound to the sturdy duranex wire as the target is.

While Okkeu's utility arm may look like a completely normal one by its outside appearance, all thanks to the Iaso E-Skin. But even then, it is a heavy cybernetic and has a layer of armour underneath the 'skin'. This means that it can still be used as a bludgeoning tool or a hammer if needed - although, the skin risks being damaged if used in this way excessively.
