  • Classification: Lake
  • Location: Atrisia codex Atrisia wookiee

Boat passage is heavily restricted and controlled by the Keisei who have bought and maintain the area with droids.
  • Description: Peaceful and rather quite, the lake near the Keisei's village was formed when the station that would become the floating world crashed to the planet carving a pathway and making an impact crater that filled and is largely altered by the Keisei. From the mountains around it that are enclosed to create barriers and protect the people then lined with their village defenses to the dam and waterways that lead down to Kansai's capitol from the lake. The waterfalls on the opposite end which go into the village are equally as maintained and altered to be protected and watched to protect the village. Areas have been carved out over the centuries by different emperors and empresses, patrons and lords who for different reasons have given the Keisei many gifts including constructing the water gardens or the palace.

Mud baths that are a cool ninety degrees ad relaxing more then scolding. The Keisei have taken advantage of it with more facilitiesbut tragedy has made it feel haunted by visitors.

Cove: Near the river leading to Kansai, the cove is largely private and houses what is considered the only foreign parts of the lake. A palace constructed by one of the emperors who spend much on the Keisei while ignoring the people.

Grotto: Tucked awat below the village and station a honey comb of areas that have pumps to open them up and serve as a quasi legendary section of the lake.

Tōkaidō Water Gardens: The ancient water gardens that were built for the Maiden of dark Water a Keisei that was famed for her beauty with an emperor.

Waru Tower: Built near the village and within an area of the lake, the tower serves as the Keisei's floating world.. their secret location as below the surface it is a massive station that crashed to the planet and has been worked on to be sealed and reinforced from water leaking into it.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Formed when the floating world crashed and cut through the mountains. The lake is mostly unknown... the Keisei having mined and taken the riches from it that were upturned and over the centuries they have worked to have droids ensure it is isolated from most of the Atrisian mountain range. With the emperors and empresses accepting their almost ownership/stewardship within the mountains since they feed the small villages and homes there who in turn work for them. Mines in the mountains and the lake which has the Hanamachi, tower and water gardens around it. The palace of an emperor who wanted to be closest to the Keisei and the water gardens which are a large attraction.

The different tales from the lake are some of the more interesting with the Maiden of the Dark water who was a Kyushi Keisei famed for her beauty from the shadow lands of Kyushu. With skin like polished jet, dark pools for eyes and a honeyed voice that sang ballads to the emperor from when he was a young child. His seizures afflicted him from then and she was able to calm him with her voice. Giving him shows of epic heroes in Atrisian history so when he became the Emperor he poured much of the treasury to impressing her and trying to get her to break her vows but she never did. Even after he built the water gardens for her and practically bankrupted the treasury.

More tales come from other emperors and empress, noble lords and ladies and merchants who attempted to gain favor or have the Keisei. Bringing many riches from spices, silks, pearls, exotic fruits and foods. One merchant bought and built hatcheries for them that could raise exotic fish that were sold to palaces and lords across Atrisia. Another gave them initiates, children who would be trained by them but only one really made an impression as the Emperor Ito who had been raised by his father to be the emperor since he was a small child... taken on campaigns against the horselords and seeing the admiration of the people of Atrisia for his father.... was betrayed.

His father passed on and before he died he named his general the heir to the empire which Ito had been taught to rule. Inan act of violence Ito killed his father and assumed the throne moving the palace and selling their food stores, he put on intricate shows and games in the far flung arena of Okuninushi Isle or with the Keisei. He decimated the treasury and reserves of his people, selling many off to other nobles as slaves, giving them to the horse lords and in the end he revealed only to his keisei chronicler whom he didn't understand that he would burn all his father loved to the ground by destroying the empire.

The keisei were neutral in the exchange, they were happy to take what he gave them but when he revealed he planned to murder many of the lords and take everything they had she subtly allowed it to slip to his men who overthrew him. A new emperor was chosen among the families and the palace was relocated back to Jar'kai with thanks for it. The lake returned to a normal state with the palace rarely being used and eventually becoming overgrown but many considered it cursed and haunted as the mists would hang heavy around it throughout the day. Centuries more would pass and eventually the lake was given new defensive means as the village was expanded after recent attacks by the sith and other offworlders.

The final improvements for the time upon it involved largely the Jishi era which saw new modernized technology distrubuted across the planet for self sustaining units and homes, more energy efficient housing, buildings and ways to produce crops and livestock. The Keisei jumped on this and updated many of their things even using connection they made through merchants who bought their pieces and sold them offworld to import exotic flora, fauna and materials from around the galaxy all while still staying and perfecting their artistic styles, preforming for the people of Atrisia and holding their floating world.
