Octarchy Rising (Neutral/Good free to join)

BRELOR CITY
Voph stood on the balcony overlooking the government district of Brelor City, adjusting his tunic in preparation for the event he was soon to be hosting. Various dignitaries from a handful of worlds had already begun to arrive, but most of the patrons were residents, or here for entirely different reasons. This didn't matter to Voph. He was happy as could be. He turned towards the aide that was standing on the balcony with him. He spread his arms in the usual silent inquiry. "You look fine, sir." Voph nodded, and turned back to the railing. "Will she arrive on time?" The aide nodded, and gestured to the door behind them. "Perhaps you'd best go greet your guests, my lord?" Voph grumbled his approval, and turned to follow the aid downstairs.

The party was situated in the large courtyard of the main government building, with a stage and podium set up to one side, now playing host to a band playing a wide range of music, with a small floor designated for those that might wish to dance. For the time being, however, folks were mostly milling about, particularly near the bar. Voph stepped out into the waning evening sunlight, keeping to the edge of the party as he looked over the assembled crowd. He'd certainly been to bigger parties. But that was of no matter to him.

Today was the day. The Octarchy Covenant was alive after thousands of years. And today was the day that Voph announced himself to the galaxy. The Covenant was here to help. He didn't expect a warm welcome to the galactic community, but he'd received colder from his own allies. The Dignitaries from other worlds had been brought by tales of a peacekeeping force that would hold the line, no matter the cost, or die trying. A force that could protect the nations too small for the mighty nations of the galaxy to care about saving. He'd already secured one other member of the Covenant earlier. He glanced about the gathering, curious if she intended to make good on her threat of attending...

Kay had to be here. Brelor was one of two moons orbiting Commenor and it was one that held a great history. Well known for being a vacation planet, she was eager to see the work that [member="Voph"] had put into it as it's Lord. So when the word spread about him hosting a party, well it would just be bad manners if she didn't attend.

[member="Veiere Arenais"] wasn't at home, but she had left a message for him to come if he was able. He didn't have to be, however. As long as one of them was around, then that was enough.

Kay stepped into the venue in the courtyard, the silver in her dress catching and reflecting all of the light, giving her an almost glimmering appearance. Her smile and look of approval kept her spirits high. This would be a good day. And a proud day. Progression was being made. The shadows of occupation were nearly gone. Only a few scars remained.

Now if only she could find some tea....

Life is a queen, if not it would be to easy
Tin would be honest with herself when she came to these events and in all things she had no idea what with Octarchy or Convenient was, only that it's leader was holding some party and that [member="Lady Kay"] was attending it. Though not really her thing, all high and fancy parties with world leaders it was better the just milling around Commoner with nothing to do, as such the yellow skinned Twi'lek had accompanied the queen, wearing a long purple dress for the occasion.

She stepped into the venue area with a slightly bored expression, eyes scanning the current view of the room, so far it was everything she expected it to be. Lots of men and women dressed up in their best clothes though the crowd was smaller then she expected, "well this is nice and all, but where is the food"? One main aspect about any party was the fine dinning and exotic foods from all around the galaxy and considering this was a new government she expected the best stuff to be put out to make the guest happy. First impression were everything.

Brelor city, stardust couldn't say she visited recently at all however when word of a peacekeeping force known as the covenant sprang up there she had all the interest in the world now to go to this party....after all she was the grandmaster of the commenor knights the defenders of commenor

Arriving within her shuttle the doors opened to reveal the tall green twilek dressed in some robes with the colors of commenorand the symbol of the knights on it, looking about she smiled bowing to a few then moved forward into the crowd. A yellow movement caught her eyes and she turned seeing that twilek from when they attacked the Sith blockade

well seems fate has us in the same place again

Voph turned to his aide, and nodded in the direction of the bar. "Make sure they've got some tea over there. Won't be long before Kay makes it over." He smiled grimly and patted the aide on the shoulder as he walked off to greet his new arrivals. He paused a few feet away, and offered [member="Lady Kay"] a bow. "Your Highness. A pleasure to see you, as always. Rather fitting that you are the first of the Commenor delegation to arrive." His hands clasped at the small of his back as his blind gaze, concealed by his typical carved-bone crest, turned towards the twi'leks accompanying her. "And welcome to the both of you as well. I am Lord Voph, the commander of the Octarchy Covenant. I do hope you enjoy yourselves while you are here."

He turned slightly, gesturing behind him. "And if feeding yourself is your only concern, then I believe some small dishes have been set on the other side of the courtyard. If that fails to suit your taste, We have a number of eating establishments within the city." Voph's gaze lingered on [member="Tin'tinag"] for a moment, before turning back to Kay. "I don't suppose Veiere will be joining us today, will he? He strikes me as someone that would not miss the unveiling of a flagship."

Shoden Moz

Lady Mischief of Nordel
Shoden hated dresses. She really disliked putting them on, she hated taking them off, she loathed how she felt, generally, pretty restricted in them. They weren't good for climbing trees, sneaking through vents, or any of the fun things in life quite frankly. She just, didn't like dresses at all. But... as Lady of Nordel, she ought to at least try and find something suitable. Thus why the one handed girl had come, wearing a bright blue gown, and her stump arm wrapped in a nice looking cloth so people didn't have to stare at the obvious injury in more detail than usual. Least she could do, after all, to keep things from turning into a riot.

She took the first few steps off the shuttle, without her personal guard as they were still in the selection process. However, that did not mean she was unattended, no no no. Instead, she was probably as safe as she could hope to be, though her 'guard' would be lagging behind a bit. She straightened her gown, huffing a bit at the looks she got from a few dignitaries, no doubt both for appearance and age. Useful a tool as it was, the looks were still unappreciated. Regardless, she made a beeline for a few certain individuals. She nodded at both the Twi'leks, before offering a slight half bow to Voph and Kay.

"Lord Voph, Auntie. It seems this time I am more than on time." She'd barely caught the words on approach, having little idea what they were discussing before she arrived. She glanced back a moment, before turning back to Voph in particular. "I apologize in advance."

Take charge of protecting Commenori, without Commenori. Not unreasonable, but odd. Something Darlyn had very specific rules about doing, rules that had yet to be tested and kept to standard. Minister of Justice Darlyn had very specific ideas about who should be the public protectors of the citizens of his planet, and her moons, and frankly it was slightly miffing to have someone so quick to hand it off to a third party. Even if the leader was technically a Commenori lord. Still sat in his stomach like chocolate in a dog's. Not great.

Thus why he had chosen to attend in the most fitting formal wear to emphasize his point. And by formal wear, he meant beskar'gam. Something he actually was allowed to wear now, the armor of Mandalore the Ultimate, fitted to him and the former clan symbols replaced with that of Cadera's, the current Mand'alor for those who can't keep track. How could he not wear something so bright, ostentatious, and frankly over the top for this? Granted it helped that he was technically Shoden's bodyguard tonight, on account of his daughter's personal guard being yet to be determined, but he'd be like this even so.

And he'd still be finishing a bottle of whiskey, tossing it in a disposal bin as he passed by. To Voph, he would very clearly echo in darkness, like a beacon almost to be perfectly frank. Which might be strange to him if he was unaware of Darlyn's reputation still, or had any iclination to believe darksiders weren't commonly welcome on Commenor. Not that it was true, obviously. But even so, heavily armored man stinking of darkness stuck out like several sore thumbs. His heavy boots didn't thud like he was stumbling drunk, despite the bottle he'd polished off, and instead were very purposeful as he walked up to Kay and Voph, and Shoden. A friendly wave to Star and her companion, before he stood there quietly.

Mostly staring at Voph to try and get a read on him. Pick something up. Figure something out.

He gave a grin to Kay, before thoroughly interrupting. "Seen any good movies you two?"

There was no invite, no request for him to be here. Yet he came here, not even secretly or in disguise. Commenor was just a short jump from the world where he lived and this call moved, even if not as loud as others, through the HoloNet and found the ears and eyes of Aiglos. He was not sure what to expect of this, but it seemed like a possible opportunity.

He leaves the speeder which he rented to get here from the spaceport, it was some simple model, just for personal transportation. The building was in the district where the local government resides and it was pretty architecture, not as fabulous as on Zakuul though, before the fall ... he was leaving the thought equally as the speeder. His white armoured, streamlining boots touching the surface of the street.
The rest of him followed and with smooth gestures he moved towards the entrance. His hair well cut and styled, unusual, he hadn´t done that for quite a while. He was approaching the door clad in his ancient, white armour with black parts and golden details, the armour which was worn by the personal guards of the Benevolent Emperor for all the time of his reign. Now it was just an ancient piece of equipment, a memory of long forgotten times.

Aiglos was not sure if he would be allowed to enter, nor what he would find inside to be honest. His lightsaber was clipped to the back of his belt, horizontally. Though he was not expecting any trouble here, nor a fight, but one could never be sure. The Galaxy is chaos.

War has been unleashed in the West, the abominable Sith fight each other for the better right of nonsense. Control shouldn´t be dared by those who cannot control themselves nor by those who are not aware of their emotions. Both the Dark and Light siders are weak in their own aspects, they lack balance.
Anyway, he didn´t came here to argue with himself or someone else. He was allowed to enter by the guards with the notice not to cause trouble. Ignoring the statement he entered the courtyard. There were many people here, he didn´t know any of them and moved in. He never felt more uncomfortable.

Ting cocked her head to the side a little as in an amused fashion [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] made the comment, earning a small smirk from the yellow Twi'lek. "Hee, I make my own fate, if you want I'd be more then happy to sit down and tell you about all the stuff I've been through to get here". Who knew, maybe such a life story would make a good book how many other people have gone from street thief to master smuggler to knight of Ren to Jedi and now to... wait what she was now exactly? Something to fix up later though in the moment the women's attention was draw to the mention of food by the esteemed guest.

"Well you get 5 stars from me, smells quite good, I best let you planetary leaders talk you talk", with a small wave she left the group going just behind them to sort through the current spread. Some things look familiar, some didn't but all of it looked tasty and well prepared. "Hey Star what do you fancy, I'll bring a plate over for you if ya want something to eat".

For once Jairdain was running late. Normally she was punctual and on time. Feeling horrible about the delay, she held the reason for it on her hip. Marcus just wasn't in the mood to get dressed and show his face. The toddler could be quite stubborn, but his mother was more.

Carrying him so they could reach their destination faster, on her shoulder in a specially made pocket was a small green wolf that was her eyes at times. Right now, she wasn't looking through them, but through the Force. It guided her steps and kept her from crashing or running into anybody or anything.

She was honoured Voph had thought to invite her but really didn't know why. What good was her involvement here, she did not know. Maybe just showing up as a part of Commenor and both of them being leaders of countries...perhaps that was why he extended this invitation.

They were both dressed for a more formal occasion and he had already somehow gotten gunk on his shirt. Of course, neither of them could see that though.

As they arrived, she set Marcus down on the floor and held his hand. Giving each person already there a slight nod, she gave a smile to Shoden though. It was always nice to see the young woman. Someday, she would have set aside some time to spend with her.

Stardust smiled to [member="Voph"] and bowed low

grand master of the commenor knights stardust skirae, truely it is a honor to be here to see the unveiling of the ship

She turned to see her old friend darlyn ans smiled back waving him to, did he get a daughter? She chuckled to herself at that thought she needed to see him again one of these days maybe. Turning to the yellow twilek and smiled and moved off to her

certainly, a lot has happened indeed hasnt it?

She moved to where the food was getting a little

so what has happened with you? Last I saw you was at the blockade

[member="Veiere Arenais"] was never one for flashy parties and political events. He loathed the dance of fake smiles and false pleasantries. Now that didn't happen at every party, but it tended to happen at many that they were attending.

"I'm not sure. He's been quite busy elsewhere as of late.
He'd love to see the flagship I'm sure. But he tends to stay away from the spotlight, as it were."
Veiere was of course the reluctant King. But when he had his moments of fulfilling the role, he did so very well.

"You've done well with Brelor so far, [member="Voph"] . I had forgotten how beautiful it was." Of course she had been so wrapped up with recovering from the Occupation and fixing what was broken that she hardly took the time to look around and notice her surroundings.

Kay nodded to [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] and [member="Tin'tinag"] as the approached, before they headed off to grab some food. And then [member="Shoden Moz"] arrived in a beautiful dress. She gave her a smile and then looked to [member="Darlyn Excron"] as he arrived. Her brows rose at his question of movies.
"I haven't seen any for a while, actually. My downtime is usually spent sleeping." When she could fall asleep, that is. These days it was hard not to worry about something.

[member="Ecthelion Aiglos"] was someone she hadn't seen around here before. Perhaps he was for a new business contract or even a part of the Covenant that Voph was forming. Either way she was sure to find out soon enough.

Kay smiled as [member="Jairdain"] arrived with little [member="Marcus Ismet-Ku"] . Her grandson had quite the mind of his own. Hopefully he wouldn't be taking after his father too much. Except for maybe his good traits.

"If Veiere shows up tonight, then he'd get to meet his grandson. If not, then there'll be other opportunities."

Voph was only able to nod in confirmation of the Twi'lek's identity before she scurried away to join the other one at the food tables. He was about to comment on Kay's observation, but then a pair of guests arrived. One of which looked like trouble. Mandalorian. Full beskar. Escorting the young lady Shoden. Voph turned his attention to Shoden as she addressed him, bowing slightly as he did so. "So it would seem. I do not expect this to be the largest or grandest of parties, however. Simple affairs for a simple coalition. All the same, welcome to Brelor." With that, he turned to the Mandalorian escorting her. Couldn't possibly be one, however. He was Force Sensitive. Mandalorians didn't allow force sensitives among their ranks. Or had the years proven so harsh that they were left with no other choice? "Tateyus, vod. Kapr gar athu'neha ijaa at gar adate." His Mando'a was a little rusty, but he was still far more fluent than most. "Alas, much the same as Kay, I have been too busy to engage in such...frivolous pastimes."

The disdain in Voph's voice suggested that he was more insulted at the insinuation that he would waste the time to watch a movie, moreso than the certainly insensitive question of if he'd seen one. Voph was not sure what to think of this one. The armor he wore was distinctive. Particularly to an individual like Voph. And yet, it was incorrect. Mandalore the Ultimate had not been a member of clan Cadera. More to the point, Voph was frankly impressed the armor was in this good a condition. Or this convincing a replica. "Are you here on business, or does the young Lady Shoden simply have good taste in bodyguards?"

As Voph asked this, he sensed movement. Not unusual, save for what caused it. His head turned towards the distraction. A Zakuulan. Wearing the old armor of the War. Voph knew that he had best not set expectations for what sort of folk this gathering might attract, but a Zakuulan was still an unusual sight. Particularly one in armor that old. Voph made a mental note to speak with the man before the day was over...

Shoden Moz

"Did you seriously ask a blind man if he's watched any movies? You're going to ruin my image if you keep this up." She sighed and shook her head, folding her arms across her chest. "I'm sorry, he doesn't always make the best first impressions. Pretty much ever, if I'm being fully honest. He takes a bit of getting used to..." If one knew they were father and daughter, the choice of words certainly would be out of place. Then again, Shoden was doing her best to talk and act the role she had now, regardless of how she wanted to be. If she were behaving like herself, she'd probably be in sweatpants and a loose shirt quite honestly. At home. Eating candy and watching terrible holofilms.

Simple pleasures of life.

She was about to apologize further when Jairdain arrived, with the adorable Marcus. She smiled back to the older woman, still curious why she always seemed delighted when Shoden was around, before moving a bit closer to the young boy. She knelt down so she was closer to his level, and gave him a sweet smile. "Hey there little man. Finally get the chance to meet the little cousin." All said as gently and with the care to keep him from getting surprised or frightened. Orphanage had a lot of kids, older ones had to take care of them. Hopefully she still had that talent.

Mando'a. Great, right. He regretted having his helmet off so he could drink whiskey, the translator would've been lovely. So instead, he was left with only one real recourse in terms of commentary. "Ah yes, right, lovely. One question, what did you say?" And thus the point was made. Darlyn sucked at language. Technically he wasn't even sure if he was considered 'vod'. All he knew is he killed things and now he gets pretty sick looking armor to wear. And not be choke slammed, again, by a seven foot woman. Fun as that was it would get old really quick.

"Frivolous? You could've just said no. I'll chalk you up as both not one for movies or fun. Not a promising outing..." He couldn't help but give a very airy chuckle as he glanced around for the nearest bit of booze. Nothing in reach, well that was fine. He'd finished a bottle of whiskey, but as he soon revealed he still had the emergency flask in, well somewhere in his armor. Honestly how he kept it so safe was astonishing.

He took a small swig before answering Voph's question. "Both really. On the one hand, if you're in charge of any of Commenor, and having a private military handle policing and safety, it's my business to schedule a beat down where I make sure they're up to standards. On the other, Shoden does have good taste in bodyguards to let her Dad take over while her personal guard are still being selected. Ain't that right Kay, hard to pick better than me."

Snide, snarky commentary, hand full of alcohol, stupid grin and constant jokes. Yeah, Darlyn was up for a party it seemed.

The last party he was celebrating was after he freed himself from the slavers. It was not really a party, just a night at a cantina with alcohol and strangers, not that alcohol had any effects to his body or mind, but the simple idea and taste of it gave the feeling of doing something relaxed and casual. Grabbing a drink from one of the waiters, he was walking around, taking small sips of the white vintage.
The people were staring at him from the distance and keeping their eyes when he came nearby. One does not have to read minds to understand why. This was a party and he was in armour - more specifically, in unknown armour. It was no ordinary military set nor belonging to those savage warrior-cults famed in the Galaxy. Aiglos simply assumed that such would be their reasoning. Just an equipped stranger among civilians.

After another sip he spotted another guest in armour. One of those savages he thought about earlier. He was talking with the one who invited to this come-along. Who was he? The ruler of this place, yes, but he was more. His behaviour, his movements, manners and looks ... his eyes. They had something to it. Aiglos couldn´t explain it, but it was something he understood without knowing what it actually was. The Zakuulan was considering the join the conversation, but he had no intent to speak with that grinning beast.

Continuing his way, he looked at the food offered. Taking a little spit with some venison and vegetables, he moved with softly clanking boots to a nearby table and a couple of armchairs around it. Seating himself and slowly enjoying the good food and wine, he kept watching the evening society with the watchful eyes of an investigator.

What was he looking for?

Kay just had to sit back where she stood while [member="Darlyn Excron"] put on his usual entertainment of classic wit. And even she couldn't understand [member="Voph"] when he spoke in the Mandalorian tongue. Although she was adopted into a Clan a long time ago, she never learned the language or the culture aspect. She was far too busy with Commenor. Her interactions with people from other governments were quite small nowadays.

Every aspect of her life was about business and she very much needed a vacation. Maybe some day...

"Well, I think that I should find myself some tea and not hold anyone up." [member="Voph"] had plenty of people waiting for him, to be sure. She knew how that went as she had hosted many parties and events herself.

With a bow of her head she turned and headed off to look for some tea. She was sure that she had smelled some earlier.

Tin'tinag

Life is a queen, if not it would be to easy
Tin let out a small 'hmm' as Star approached, "a lot, well I guess it had been quite a lot, first time I've seen the sith be beat at anything, but I guess that is what happens when you over extend your military". It was quite the battle and lead up, to be honest it was the first time Tin had been in a proper full scale battle. She had been in the odd fight, small skirmishes and operations in her past but a full scale ship battle an ground invasion was something new, also quite interesting and fun to be apart of.

She reach over pouring herself a drink while the two continue to talk, taking a sip of what she assumed to be some sort of party punch. "Were did I go, well kinda just did my own thing, the whole being apart of commoner was more a side thing, the only reason I ever got involved was since I was in that Jedi Order Kay's husband made". "Didn't end so well when he went all dark side and tried to kill all of us and I kind of had to jump ship to Commoner". That was the gist of things, "so when things kind of went to poodoo during the blockade I more or less found myself leaving commoner space and going on a force pilgramig". "Found some old master on a nearby world to train, lived on Tython for a few months, did some odd jobs as a smuggler that sorts".

It was just another paragraph into her already confusing and wild life. "So, what about you Star? what you been up to"?

[member="Lady Kay"] [member="Ecthelion Aiglos"] [member="Shoden Moz"] [member="Darlyn Excron"] [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"] [member="Voph"]

Voph arched a brow at [member="Darlyn Excron"] as he spoke. Shdoen's father? The two were practically the same age. And...a notable member of the Commenori Government, apparently. Why did no one ever speak of things like this to him? He offered a quick bow (inclination of the head, really) to [member="Shoden Moz"] as she stepped away to speak with the regent [member="Jairdain"] and her son, the soon to be rightful Lord of Juniper. "My apologies, Dar'Manda, I mistook you for...something else." A tone of thinly veiled disdain found its way into Voph's voice. "If you are in need of a fight, then I suggest you seek it elsewhere."

Voph interrupted himself to turn after [member="Lady Kay"] and called after her, "The bartender should have your brew preparing, if not ready." He turned back to Darlyn. "You are correct, Octarchy does class as private military, and yet she does not fall under the purview of Commenor. Commenor has agreed to host our forces so that we may more effectively assist those in need within this sector of space, and in return we will aid in her defense." Voph folded his hands behind his back, glancing over to where the Zakuulan had taken a seat. "Our security forces are meant to enforce the law, not fight wars. That, Dar'Manda, is what your armies are for. So I fail to see what purpose this 'beat down,' as you say, would serve, other than to inflate your own ego. If you wish to understand our effectiveness, my Aides will be happy to provide you with the relevant simulation scores. And...Perhaps do the young Lady Shoden a favor? A woman of her age and station will be overcome with obstacles. You would do well to ease that burden where you may."

Voph reached out and patted the man on the shoulder, turning to walk into the crowd without further comment. He didn't have long till his address. And he wanted to make sure he spoke with someone before that happened. Moments later he was lowering himself into a seat next to [member="Ecthelion Aiglos"], the carved bone crest that marked where his eyes should have been turning towards the man. "I was not aware the mighty Eternal Empire had eyes this far reaching. You do us a great honor to visit our humble world." Voph watched the man quietly for a moment. "Again." He cracked a wry smile. "I am Voph, Lord of Brelor, and the commander of this new Covenant." His next words may sound cryptic to the normal passersby, or at least those unfamiliar with what he was, but he was confident the Zakuulan would take his meaning. "If we have crossed blades in the past, rest assured I bear you no ill will. Your people are an admirable one, and it was an honor to test our resolve against yours."

[member="Tin'tinag"] [member="Stardust Australis Skirae"]

Luckily her entrance had been rather unnoticed. A few heads turned their way but quickly went back to conversing with whoever they were talking to. Only Shoden decided to approach them.

This would be one of the first opportunities Jairdain had to speak with the young woman. Something she had been meaning to do for a bit of time. Duty and work though had kept her from reaching out to her.

"Shoden, it is good to know you are here. This is [member="Marcus Ismet-Ku"]. And yes I suppose he is a cousin. Marcus, this is Shoden Moz. We will have to make sure to visit her in the future."
