Strengths​

Agility - Taking its cues from the TIE Interceptor - with which it shares a similar appearance - the Nupperibo II is heavily focused on speed and maneuverability, utilizing these as its primary defense in lieu of its lacking defensive shielding and armor capabilities.

Heavily Armed - Boasting a number of weapon systems, the Nupperibo II are much more heavily armed than its predecessor and is capable of serving both as a general Starfighter and as an Interceptor craft when the need calls for such.

R-PB6 Repair System - A common system that is often found on those smaller craft produced by Von Sorenn Industries. Launching short-range probe droids that in turn are capable of repairing the hulls of nearby starships, they can also be utilized to repair the vessel that activated the system.

WhisperThrust Engine - A semi-unique technology that utilizes supercooled gases and specialized engine components to trap and scatter escaping gases released by the Starfighter. This in turn ensures that the Starfighter produces as little of a sensor wake as possible. However, as high speeds or sudden bursts of speed cause the vessel to be immediately detected, slower cruising speeds are required for the system to operate properly.

AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - Maintaining an ablative current that courses through the hull of the vessel, the AR-0B assists in the removal of debris and harmful substances from the hull plating. This in turn reduces the damage to the vessel's hull plating and increases the longevity of the hull - allowing for longer durations between repairs or replacement.

GalaxyGuard Mark VII - Owing to the minimal defensive capabilities of the Starfighter, the GalaxyGuard Mark VII provides additional endurance and operational range to the deflector shield generator present in the Starfighter.

Atmospheric Flight Capable - Like many Starfighter variants, the Nupperibo II-class is capable of withstanding the heat of reentry, permitting it - along with its internal components - to operate in the Atmosphere.

L-41c Weapon Power Converter - In those instances in which the power supply to the Starfighter's vessel is being rapidly depleted, this component permits the pilot to transfer some of the power from their engines into the weapon reserves. This allows for the weapon systems to be fired for a longer, sustained period of time.

Weaknesses​

Minimal Life Support - Though the Starfighter is equipped with Life Support Systems, their function is only minimal, requiring that the pilot still wear a specialized flight suit to provide additional life support in the event that the vessel is damaged, a seal is faulty, or any other number of instances in which the life support system could potentially fail.

Minimal Defenses - Having taken strides over its predecessor - which was akin to the TIE/ln as nothing more than a coffin with an engine and lasers strapped to it - the Nupperibo II-class has a minimal defensive capability provided by its Deflector Shield Generator. However, its size means that the shields can be rapidly depleted in prolonged combat, as the vessel is not geared towards head-to-head dogfights.

Structural Weakpoint - As seen in many similar designs, the vessel contains a weak point between the fuselage and the wings. This connecting arm - provided that substantial damage is applied or a fault already exists - could potentially sheer off of the vessel, causing the Starfighter to spiral out of control.

WhisperThrust Engine - Though mentioned above in detail, the downside of the WhisperThrust Engine is that it does not render the Starfighter invisible or imperceptible. In order for the system to work properly, the Starfighter must maintain a cruising speed to remain undetected by sensors and scanners - even then, an individual could just as simply look out a viewport and still visually detect the Starfighter.

SLAM Passout - Seen in the Gidim II-class Bomber, when the SubLight Accelerator Motor is utilized, there remains the potential that the G-Forces that are produced - even with basic inertial dampeners - is more than enough to render the pilot unconscious. In this event, both the Pilot and the Starfighter would be vulnerable.

Agility - The Vessel's primary defense is in its Agility - however, should the engines be damaged or sufficient damage be done to the starfighter, it has the potential to render its Speed and Maneuverability moot. Without its Speed, it is little more than a sitting tin can, as its shields and armor are not hardy enough to withstand a prolonged or sustained barrage of fire.

Aft Blindspot - The vessel is designed in such a way as to bring the Pilot's attention forward and remain focused on what is in front of their path - this, coupled with a lack of rear camera or similar technologies - leaves the rear of the vessel as a massive blindspot. This can be utilized against the pilot by skilled opposition, with a carefully planned strike more than capable of decimating a squadron from the rear.

Small Squadrons - Though the Starfighter is considerably small in regards to other starfighters, the training required to properly pilot and control the Nupperibo II-class renders it being deployed in large numbers as a pipe dream. With squadrons of the Starfighter being deployed with no more than four such vessels at a time.

Description​

The Nupperibo II-class Space Superiority Starfighter is a marked improvement over its predecessor the Nupperibo-class Starfighter; predominately due in part to the addition of defenses, albeit minimal at best, that permits a pilot to survive longer engagements when compared to the life expectancy of those flying the older Nupperibo-class. Whereas the earlier Nupperibo design favored a similar doctrine as that of Palpatine's Galactic Empire - deploying in mass large quantities of the Starfighters to saturate an enemy and overwhelm them - the Nupperibo II-class deviates from this doctrine, with the understanding that those pilots that operate these vessels are not merely replaceable nor mere cannon fodder to overwhelm an enemy position. To this end, the vessel is focused more so on the quality of the pilots - compared to the earlier 'quantity' deployed of the starfighters. With additional defensive capabilities - such as a Deflector Shield Generator and Reinforced Hull Plating, the Nupperibo II-class more than outshines and outperforms against its predecessor. Additional upgrades to the vessel can be seen in its expanded armaments as well as additional defensive measures - such as a missile deactivation transmitter. However, it still has its fair share of drawbacks and problems - as seen in its design with a glaring structural weak point of the connecting that fastens the wings to the cockpit. Should this weak point be capitalized upon, the wing can be shorn away from the starfighter, resulting in the pilot losing control and the starfighter spiraling into a crash. Additionally, the vessel lacks any kind of means to safely eject or ensure the survivability of the pilot in the event of a crash - beyond its reinforced hull and the hope that it is enough to ensure the pilot's survival. Likewise, though it is present, the Life Support Capabilities of the Starfighter still cause Pilot's to wear protective flight suits that are equipped with life support systems of their own in the event that the systems of the Starfighter are damaged - or the hull has been penetrated rendering any such internal life support systems a moot point. However, it should be noted that even with its ample drawbacks, the pilot's that operate these craft believe that its strengths more than make up for any weaknesses they might experience - with pilots still more than eager to jump into the cockpit of a Nupperibo II-class Starfighter in the defense of the Confederacy and the Galaxy as a whole.
