SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Shield Attachment: The RD-XD7 can be physically attached to a shield generator by connecting its wiring to that of the generator before being secured in place by exterior clamps. Alternately, the Augment can be attached to an outlet connected to both the shield generator and the generator powering it.
  • Anti-Leech Features: The RD-XD7 effectively counters shield leech weapons by altering the behavior of an existing deflector shield at the atomic level. To this end, the Augment instructs the shield to ionize its own atoms, utilizing electrons to increase the potential energy inside the shield while reducing by its rigidity. Furthermore, the Augment modifies the shield to give way in sections where kinetic force has been applied before quickly restoring itself. As a result, energy leech weapons can only deprive energy from sections of a shield they make direct physical contact with, usually affecting no more than a square meter of shielding.
STRENGTHS
  • Anti-Leech: The RD-XD7 counters energy leech weapons by automatically disabling regions of a shield immediately within and surrounding a kinetic impact, reducing by up to 95% the amount of energy a leech weapon can take from a shield.
  • Easy Fit: The RD-XD7 can be attached to nearly any capital ship, space station, large vehicle, or fortification without needing modification or an additional power source.
  • On/Off Switch: Since the RD-XD7 can be manually enabled or disabled with little delay, it is possible for captains to enable their shield coat the moment it is attacked by energy leech weapons and then disable it to launch a kinetic counterattack immediately afterwards.
WEAKNESSES
  • Multi-Shot: If more than one shield leech weapon is fired at the exact same spot and both projectiles impact a shield within a second of each other, the second projectile will bypass the augmented shield, hitting the hull or unaugmented shield beneath.
  • Two-Way Barrier: While active, the RD-XD7 makes a shield behave like a particle shield, regardless of what type of shield is being augmented. Consequently, a ship will be unable to fire its kinetic weapons (if any are equipped) without hitting its own shields.
DESCRIPTION
For Alge Imperial, an anti-energy leech barrier has been a long time coming.
From Dac to Caragach, half a dozen Alge-produced capital ships have been crippled or destroyed by Thunderbolt missiles, with two of them being large Star Destroyers. These disasters represent by far the most costly losses of AISI warships in battle, and for years the corporation has attempted to develop an effective countermeasure not only to Thunderbolts but to all weapons of their kind.

Though it would take tens of millions of credits and countless failed prototypes, eventually a breakthrough was made. Rather than trying to develop an entirely new form of defense, AISI’s engineers instead decided to modify existing deflector shields using an augment device to alter shield behavior on an atomic level.

DESCRIPTION

The Sykes-class fleet carrier is Alge Imperial’s second ever venture into Star Destroyer-sized warships.
Like the slightly larger Cato-class, the Sykes is a resilient large carrier design intended to form the center of fleets or battlegroups. Unlike the Catos, the Sykes is a pure fleet carrier, sacrificing heavy firepower for enlarged hangars. Despite their strong shielding, Sykes-class fleet carriers are not intended to charge headlong into enemy fleets, instead relying on its powerful air wings to eliminate enemy capital ships at extreme range.

Notably, the Sykes-class fleet carrier is the result of the Caragachi Commonwealth’s first official contract with AISI. The high endurance and resilience of the Sykes-class is a clear reflection of Caragach’s ambition to assert its influence abroad in a lasting manner. Additionally, the vast hangars that are standard to the Sykes-class give Caragachi admirals more flexibility than they would have with a battleship of equal size. For instance, the content of the Sykes’ starfighter complement can be arranged to best suit a specific mission or battle and swapped out between engagements, giving an admiral the freedom to perform radically different missions from a single ship.

DESCRIPTION

Ever since the first galactic civilizations waged war, there has been a need for ships that can efficiently and effectively transport troops from orbit to a planet’s surface. The Recourse-class is one of the newest ships to fill this niche, designed by Alge Imperial Shipyards Engineering to provide governments in the galactic rim with a cheap but effective means of deploying troops onto hostile worlds.

Lightly armed for its size, the Recourse-class is strictly a troop transport rather than a gunship that can stay on the battlefield to disrupt hostile forces. Nonetheless, its laser cannons can provide decent suppressive fire, allowing the dropship to deploy soldiers close to the battlefield.

  • Not a Starfighter: Lightly armed for their size, Garzas are further disadvantaged by the placement of their sole cannon on the bottom of their hull, rendering them defenseless against attacks from above or the sides.
  • Ion Vulnerable: Ion cannon fire can quickly bring down a Garza’s shielding and disrupt its tractor beams, causing it to prematurely drop its cargo.
DESCRIPTION
Following its successful design of the Recourse-class troop transport, Alge Imperial Shipyards sought to create a complementary transport capable of deploying armored vehicles and cargo rather than infantry. Though initial designs struggled to produce a ship that was both compact and able to carry large vehicles, a solution was devised by an experienced engineer named Joanne Garza. Rather than attempting to hollow out a large enclosed interior, the ship would have two large “arms” carrying tractor beams used to clamp onto vehicles or cargo.

This new design proved successful, and thanks to the AISI tradition of lending the names of innovators to their products, the ship would become known as the Garza-class. Rugged, reasonably fast, and equipped with a heavy laser cannon turret to lay down suppressive fire, the Garza excels at rapidly deploying armored vehicles close to the front lines and resupplying exhausted or encircled divisions.

  • Tanky: The A28 Taurus is covered in thick, sloped, multi-layered armor which is highly resistant to kinetic, energy, and thermal damage. Its frontal armor and turret armor is especially tough, able to withstand several average anti-tank munitions before breaking.
  • All-Terrain Vehicle: Equipped with a pair of rugged treads, the A28 Taurus can travel cross-country nearly as fast and reliably as it can on paved highways. Furthermore, a Taurus can ford water nearly as deep as the tank is tall without suffering any mechanical damage with the simple addition of a snorkel.
  • Low Profile: At 2.5 meters tall atop its turret and barely 1.5 meters tall on average, the Taurus is a fairly short tank that can take advantage of cover that larger, taller vehicles would not be able to use.
WEAKNESSES
  • Thin Flanks: Compared to its thick frontal armor, the A28's side armor and especially its rear are far less protected.
  • Stuck in the Mud: Very soft terrain such as fresh mud or loose sand can trap a Taurus' treads, immobilizing the tank.
  • Loud: Despite being able to maintain a low visual profile, there is nothing stealthy about the audio profile created by the rumbling of the Taurus' treads or the roaring of its engine.
DESCRIPTION

For as long as there have been modern armies, there has been a need for tanks. From the early days of the Old Republic to over nine hundred years after the battle of Yavin, tanks or their walker equivalents have served in nearly every faction ever to exist. In this context, the A28 Taurus is simply the newest armored vehicle to enter the fray. Yet it is no less impressive than any of the vehicles that have come before it.

Possessing an excellent mix of firepower, armor, and speed, the Taurus is a well-crafted tank capable of forming the backbone and spearhead of any armored formation. Equipped with a powerful 120mm mass driver cannon, the A28 can easily snipe lighter vehicles while penetrating the hulls of most of its contemporaries at closer range. An additional complement of six guided missiles gives the Taurus additional flexibility to engage targets outside visual range or threaten vehicles too tough for its mass driver alone.

Given its army doctrine centered on maneuver warfare, the Caragachi Commonwealth was quick to procure orders of the Taurus to modernize and bolster their ground forces. With tens of thousands of tanks due for the assembly line, the A28 is set to be among the most numerous armored vehicles in the Caragachi Army.

The Harbius Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) is an 8-wheeled off-road troop transport designed to rapidly deploy the First Order’s infantry to and from the front lines. Its powerful front-mounted engine enables a high top speed, giving the First Order’s foot infantry much-needed mobility in battle. In battle, the Harbius is not defenseless: it is equipped with the Firebearer CIWS, a potent chaingun that is devastating against infantry and light vehicles.

Produced in the thousands, Haribus APCs form the core of First Order mechanized infantry formations.

WEAKNESSES
  • Behemoth: A hulking colossus, the X45a Scorpio is visible for tens of miles in any direction and an unmistakable target for any nearby tank, artillery unit, aircraft, or warships.
  • Blind Spots: In order to use its main weapon, the Axstar projector, a Scorpio must be directly facing its target. Consequently, any attackers on the Scorpio’s flanks can only be targeted with its far weaker laser cannons, and even they cannot fire on targets directly above, below, or behind the walker.
  • Weak Points: Though extremely resilient, the Scorpio is not invincible. Their armor is weakest on their leg joints and around their beam projector (when firing), both of which will cripple the walker if destroyed.
DESCRIPTION

A towering behemoth of a walker, the X45a Scorpio is one of the few Caragachi war machines to bear the title of Terror. Protected by nigh-invulnerable armor plating and equipped with a formidable Axstar beam projector, a single Scorpio can lay waste to entire armies. Yet for all its immense capabilities, the design history of the Scorpio is wrought in controversy.

For decades, the official army doctrine of the Caragachi Commonwealth has been one of maneuver warfare centered on mobile main battle tanks. Recognizing its inability to defeat most factions in attrition warfare, the Caragachi Army has traditionally shunned heavy, slow, and fuel-intensive walkers. On paper, the Scorpio is the antithesis to everything the Army seeks out of its vehicles.

However, its supporters have offered a compelling argument. According to them, there are certain heavily fortified worlds and locations that standard tank companies cannot penetrate, yet require greater precision than can be provided by an orbital bombardment. The Scorpio, with its Axstar beam projector, provides the perfect solution: a vehicle more heavily armed than anything else in the Caragachi Army that can fire beams precise enough to target specific weak points while minimizing collateral damage.

  • Smoke Infuser: After the base fuel is added, a small pipe on the side of the container adds a set quantity of radar-absorbing iron ball paint to the mixture.
  • Pressurized Cooling Tubes: Two pressurized cooling tubes connect the fuel container to a ventilation system or the outside environment cool air to enter the container and condense the evaporated fuel and infusion mixture into a dark gray smoke.
  • Smoke Vent: Fog exits the SuperSmoke Generator through the smoke vent, a large tube with a hatch separating the generator’s interior from the outside.
STRENGTHS
  • Smokescreen: As its name suggests, the Rim Dynamics SuperSmoke Generator specializes in creating large clouds of smoke that obscure vehicles and warships from the view of most species, concealing weak spots and other vulnerabilities.
  • Scrambler: The iron ball paint infusion added to make SuperSmoke is able to disrupt targeting equipment and reduce the effectiveness of radar at pointing out specific details on a ship, making it difficult to land a clean shot on a vehicle concealed behind a smoke screen.
WEAKNESSES
  • Gone With the Wind: SuperSmoke can be dispersed and made ineffective by strong wind or sonic attacks.
  • Double-Blind: While it is difficult for most beings to see a ship concealed by SuperSmoke, it is also difficult for beings in the ship producing the smoke to see ships on the other side of the smoke screen. Furthermore, SuperSmoke also disrupts the targeting systems of the vehicle that is inside its smokescreen, forcing them to rely on manual fire or previous calculations to maintain accuracy.
DESCRIPTION
Though a popular and profitable product, the effectiveness of the AISI Mass Smoke Generator had begun to be questioned as early as a few weeks after it entered the market. A major shortfall of the original smoke generator was that it only disrupted visual target locks, making it nearly useless against any radar-equipped warships or bombers. Hoping to resolve this issue to produce a superior product for its military clients, Alge Imperial’s Board of Directors authorized work on an improved generator.

The project was eventually taken up by Rim Dynamics, AISI’s newly established parent company. Taking inspiration from the success of the earlier Laimar-class stealth carrier, iron ball paint was integrated into the new generator as an infusion to the existing smoke. The addition of iron ball paint enhanced the smoke by not only absorbing inbound radar pulses but also disrupting targeting systems due to the increased density and conductivity of the so-called SuperSmoke compared to its ordinary counterpart.

DESCRIPTION

The HAZ-26 Beam Projector, better known as the Axstar, is a very large, starship or vehicle mounted long-range plasma beam cannon developed by Rim Dynamics. As its name suggests, the HAZ-26 Beam Projector fires a single, continuous beam of energy rather than the short bursts of fire from conventional laser cannons or turbolasers. Derived from the common laser-borer design, the Axstar is by comparison significantly upscaled in size, range, and destructive power.

Due to the continuous nature of its beam, the Axstar is able to achieve a maximum range far beyond that of similarly sized turbolasers. Consequently, the beam projector makes a great weapon for sniper warships. Furthermore, the fact that the Axstar’s beam is continuous across its entire range enables a single beam to pierce multiple targets at once, especially lighter craft such as starfighters which are almost universally vaporized upon contact. Yet the HAZ-26 is also effective on planetary surfaces, whether facing up as an anti-orbital weapon or aimed downrange to scythe through enemy artillery, heavy armor, and fortifications.

DESCRIPTION
Heavily armored vehicles have long been a menace to infantry and lighter vehicles alike, able to shrug off most hits with impunity while annihilating their foes with powerful cannons. The GM-101 Gamemaster is designed to level the playing field by providing even light infantry with a fairly reliable means of threatening enemy armor.

Recognizing the failure of even many existing anti-tank weapons to penetrate the frontal armor of heavy vehicles, Rim Dynamics decided it would be best to bypass the issue entirely. Its engineers understood that the top of an armored vehicle was usually one of its most neglected points defensively and so decided to craft a missile designed specifically to strike from above.

The result would end up being refined into the Gamemaster missile, a top-attack weapon with excellent armor penetration. With a range of around 10 kilometers, the GM-101 can match or surpass the range of most tank cannons, allowing its operators to open fire from relative safety. The Gamemaster can be equipped both in single-shot infantry-portable launchers and multi-shot rocket launchers on military vehicles or gunships, allowing it to be widely deployed across large formations.
