Hello. I was recommended to this website by a friend, and I'm going to be frank I had a hard time believing it. A RP forums with hundreds of people based on SW? No way I could be this fortunate. Yet here I am. I'd appreciate a few guides or basic things I might need to know as this is all very complicated. I'm no stranger to FRP's and I've been doing them for years now; though I've never come close to doing anything the size and scale of this before. I'm pretty excited, and I hope this place is as good as it looks.

Alright, well to start off.

Any place where I can get a picture for my character? Is there a place that does forumn portraits, or any websites I might be able to look at it. This is a long shot but just some ideas to get started are helpful.

How exactly does RP work on the Forums? Traditionaly when I've RPed it's all been on one thread, or it's been a very linear thing with applications and people having set roles. How do I get started with RP (after I create my character of course.)

Really anything you feel that I should know before Roleplaying is fine, or any important links/threads.

And then, that's all you need to get started. Have a look around, ask any more questions you might have, and get going!

The only question Valiens didn't provide an answer to is regarding avatars, so about that. Most of us just use google images or DeviantART. Mine, for instance, is just a photo-edited image of Tifa. If you're looking for something more complex, we have an art and design forum.

Thanks for the help. Already got character creation well under way. I've deciding on making a Nagai. I don't quite know what groups he'll be interested in, or what he's going to wind up doing; but that's all the better. I'll figure things out as I go along in character. You'll see my character profile come up soon. Any critique would be fine.
