  • Climate: Subtropical Steppe
  • Primary Terrain: Often characterized by its widespread plains, and steppes, dotted frequently with groups of large rock formations, buttes, mesas, and bedrock outcrops. Nahkisa has two separate saltwater oceans, which the majority of its population reside along the coasts of. Freshwater rivers and lakes are common in these regions, alongside trees, and in certain regions, around Sukhan especially, heavy precipitation is present, though these can rarely be found elsewhere, on Nahkisa's single continent. On the opposite side of the planet, from its two oceans, large, arid, and barely habitable deserts are present, notable for their high concentrations of desert pavements, and the valleys that criss-cross the otherwise flat terrain.

    LOCATION INFORMATION
    • Capital City: Munhokoi
    • Planetary Features: Nahkisans historically have lived solitary, rural lifestyles. However in recent centuries, migration to the planet's coastal urban centers has become increasingly proliferated. Today, a chunk of the planet's population can be found in the unique Chuluun habitats that make-up much of Nahkisa's cities. Taking advantage of the natural landscape along most parts of the coast, Chuluun is the name given to a building that has been created from the inside of a butte, or mesa. A process in which the interior of the formation will be dug into, and carved appropriately, before supports, and the rooms themselves are built within. Windows, entrances, and other lights, and decorations are then added to the parts of the Chuluun which can be viewed from the exterior. Though most of the building remains hidden by the natural rock, the ground-level sections of Chuluuns are typically full of stores, restaurants, and other vendors and services. Due to the vast open distances of the planet, high-speed railway systems provide very cheap, and cost effective mass transportation between the cities, and smaller settlements.

    • Major Locations:
      • Munhokoi: The capital city of Nahkisa, and its second largest. The center of political power, as it is home to the planet's parliament, and presidential palace, it is also the location of the annual Water Festival, and as such hosts the Water Plaza, a large courtyard, and open air marketplace in the heart of the city, where celebrations, and other events take place throughout the year. It is a traditional, and old city, the buttes and mesas here are relatively small, and the skyline follows suite.
      • Hešei: The largest city on the planet, it is the primary center of Nahkisa's economy, and is also the main point of connection between Nahkisa and the rest of the galaxy. As the Kha Nahkisa Starport can be found here, where both great deals of passenger, and cargo traffic arrive and depart from on a daily basis. It is the most cosmopolitan city one will find on Nahkisa, with the majority of the planet's specialist, and white collar jobs and industries to be found here, alongside the highest levels of ethnic and cultural diversity. It is a highly modern city, with conventionally built skyscrapers, office buildings, and apartment complexes accompanying the Chuluun habitats due to its large population.
      • Sukhan: The industrial capital, Sukhan is known for its heavy industry, and at one point had been the most populated city on Nahkisa by a large margin. However has since fallen to third place. Notable for its skyline of large scrapyards, and ore refineries, while the Sukhan Starport sees vast numbers of daily flights to and from the many mining stations across the system. Being a center of heavy, and often pollutive industry for as long as it has been, face masks are usually advised due to smog.
      • Two Moons Valley: A large, rocky desert valley, far from any major settlements. Inhabited by only a few thousand people permanently, it has a much greater temporary population, as it is informally known as a major center of black market dealings. Most unconventional, or illegal items can be found here. It is full of open-air markets, stores and dealers built into the valley walls themselves, and a labyrinth of underground complexes below. Rumored to be ignored by the government due to the business it brings, and the little trouble it causes on-world.

      POPULATION
    • Native Species: N/A
    • Immigrated Species: Humans, Orbak, Bantha
    • Population: Moderate
    • Demographics: Nahkisa is overwhelmingly inhabited by ethnically Nahkisan humans, with only small minorities of other humans, and non-humans existing in the commerce-savvy urban centers.
    • Primary Languages: Nahkisan, Galactic Basic
    • Culture:
Nahkisan culture has remained steady for thousands of years. The Nahkisan language is believed to have emerged somewhere around the time of 10,000BBY, and has since changed, from Proto-Nahkisan, to Antique Nahkisan , to Modern Nahkisan. Each with a number of differences, and streamlining compared to the last. Traditionally, a sedentary, mining-focused people. Agricultural pursuits became popular as the planet's population grew, and many became unable to get work as miners, due to an oversupply of such applicants, alongside the inherent need for additional food sources with a bigger population. Orbaks were brought to Nahkisa shortly after the arrival of humans, and have since became a staple of traditional Nahkisan culture, as mounted archery was practiced by those in the countryside, and the animal was a very easy, and cost effective method of transportation on the then underdeveloped world.

Clans are another staple of the people of Nahkisa. Large family units, which can extend by several branches, with the immediate family, known as the Interior Family, being granted the highest rankings. Land, assets, wealth, and the age of a clan are all factors that play into the perceived prestige of the clan name. However, at times the government has been forced to intervene, when certain clans have become too large. Negotiating, and dividing them into smaller clans. Most of the planet's corporations are clan-owned, passed down from generation to generation, and before the introduction of democracy, the government was organized based on the consent of powerful clans, in-order to prevent infighting. Nahkisans typically go only by their birth name in most encounters and settings, and will rarely reveal it to foreigners. Though will add their clan name to official documents.

Popular sports include kickboxing, and water hockey, the latter of which is played during the Water Festival, an ancient planetwide celebration that occurs annually. In which all Nahkisans that are able to, travel to Munhokoi, the planet's oldest city, to celebrate the gift of water. Something which, in the earliest days of the planet's settlement, was pivotal in its success. Of course, not all Nahkisans can travel to a single city, due to this, other celebrations are held in all Nahkisan cities and settlements. Each with their own Water Market, though this is seen as secondary to the Water Plaza, in Munhokoi. The festival is not religious in nature, as most Nahkisans are atheistic by cultural norms. It is more a celebration of culture, and success. Traditional clothing, which is colorful and elaborate is worn, Nahkisan food is served, and the marketplaces are crowded, while fireworks are shot out at midnight.

Modern Nahkisans are a proud people with strong work ethics, and close-knit family ties. Conservative by nature, they are often resistant to new ideas, and enjoy their way of life as is. The largest fields of work are in agriculture, heavy industry, mining, and increasingly, as the planet's economy develops, the arts, and office/administrative work. They are welcoming, and pleasant to foreigners as guests, but can be cautious around them if they outlast their stay, appreciating their homogenous culture. Living standards across the planet are relatively decent among the galactic standard, with basic utilities, education, and healthcare taken care of. Wages are typically high enough to allow some small amount of pleasure spending, in the urban areas. However throughout the countryside, it is often day by day simple living.

      GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
      • Government: Representative Parliamentary Republic
      • Affiliation: Silver Jedi Accord
      • Wealth: Medium. A relatively poor, and undeveloped planet for a large portion of its history. In the present day, Nahkisa has benefitted from the several disasters which have plagued the galaxy in recent years, due to it surviving each largely unharmed, compared to many other worlds. Bringing an increased amount of commerce, immigration, and stability to the planet. A series of successful governments as a result of this have also led to major societal upheavals, educating the population, and making basic utilities almost universal. Nahkisa's economic growth has also been supported consistently throughout its long history by its scrapping, and heavy industry.
      • Stability: High. With the planet's security and police infrastructure concentrated on its largest cities, crime becomes a bigger issue the further from them one becomes. As organized police agencies and precincts become rangers, and local militia groups. However, the cities maintain their reputation for safety. Politically, protests have been ongoing surrounding a number of scandals involving the preferential reorganizing of voting districts to favor the party in power, a number have since descended into riots.
Freedom & Oppression: Rural Nahkisans can be described as politically absent, detached from the concerns of the middle and upper class cities, they typically care little for government affairs above the local, or provincial level. City-dwellers are a great deal more politically involved, and opinionated. Historically ruled by authoritarian governments, Nahkisa came to embrace democracy under the influence of the old Galactic Republic, and with exceptions, due to war, or imperial rule. Has trended towards democracy ever since. Officially free, and unofficially still free to a great extent, the planet has nevertheless had persistent issues with overenthusiastic security services, and a lack of efficient oversight or regulation.

      MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
      • Military: Defended by the Nahkisan Republic Armed Forces, Nahkisa maintains a modest military capacity. Utilizing its own Navy for the purposes of securing trade routes across the system, and enforcing the law off-world. Equipped primarily by suppliers in the Galactic Alliance, and Concord, the N.R.A.F. is composed of only two branches, the Nahkisan Republic Army, and the Nahkisan Republic Navy. With the Army's ground mission being largely defensive in nature, in the event of an attack. Overall, the military is well-equipped, and of a moderate size, but lacks any real ability to conduct large-scale offensive operations beyond its own system.
      • Technology: Galactic Standard.

      HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Settled during the Great Manifest Period at around 15,000BBY, the first humans on Nahkisa were employees of the Baata mining corporation, a now ancient defunct entity, setting up what is now the capital city, Munhokoi to facilitate travel from the surface, to the rest of the system. Living on the world due to its inherent habitability, alongside the vast mining operations that were being established in the Kha Nahkisa system at the time. Admitted to the Galactic Republic formally in 5,421BBY, Nahkisa did not achieve any kind of reputation beyond its own system until the Galactic War, where it was the sight of several long-fought campaigns between the Republic, and Sith Empire, following the First Nahkisan Conflict, a civil war between pro-Republic, and pro-Empire sympathisers on the planet. Resulting in Republic victories. Most of its history would remain relatively undisturbed all the way until the Clone Wars, where it again found itself being the site for an orbital battle between the droid and clone navies. The Battle of Kha Nahkisa, would end up becoming the beginning of the world's scrap metal industry. During the purge of the Jedi following the Wars, Nahkisa would become a refuge for a number of Jedi fugitives.

The Second Nahkisan Conflict would erupt in 240ABY, as a result of a clan dispute over territorial rights would for the next century divide Nahkisa into a collection of constantly skirmishing warlords, local councils, and family clans. This would be the longest conflict in Nahkisan history, and would only end following the Treaty of Munhokoi, between two of the largest warring factions, whom had agreed to share their power in a new form of government, reestablishing the treaty's namesake as the planetary capital, and organizing a plan to conquer their rivals. The Second Nahkisan Conflict would officially end in 387ABY, resulting in the formation of the First Nahkisan Republic, a sort of paternal democracy, wherein the central government was strong, and constantly intervened in the lives of its citizens. Elections were generally plagued with low turnout, and the United Nahkisa Party, the largest political party by seats, and the one which had formed as per the agreement between the two victors of the civil war, typically won every election. This system, unpopular, and ineffective, existing only to serve those that were part of it. Was responded to with riots and strikes, resulting in the Khunbish Constitution being written, following a military coup led by the Minister of Commerce, Khunbish Madak. Thus the Second Nahkisan Republic came to be, a far more genuine democracy, and successful government.

This is a good submission over all. Since this is a planet it will require a secondary review before final approval. Let's talk about what will get us closer to that!

No. 1. SYSTEM FEATURES:
You have left system features blank. If this field does not have any information could please put N/A to indicate this field does not apply.
No. 2. SPOILERS
Your use of spoilers for the images is nice, and I appreciate you putting the credit link with images. Codex Submission Guidelines do not allow for text or links to be hidden inside of spoilers however. What you could do is place the link outside the spoiler just underneath it. This would accomplish a similar purpose. Another option is that you can put each link in the image credit section. Either would be acceptable however you choose.
No. 3. NATIVE SPECIES
Here you have listed TBA, unfortunately this is not appropriate option here. You could go with none, and have all the species as immigrants to the planet. That would need to be indicated in the history as to when or how that happened. If you decided to change that at a later date you could request a submission modification. As it stands now it looks like a work in progress, and will need to be addressed before we can approve the planet.
No. 4. HISTORICAL INFORMATION
I do like the history. It does span quite a bit of time, and I would like to see it fleshed about a bit more. Specifically I would like to see some history on how it became affiliated with the Silver Jedi Concord since you have it listed as an affiliation under government. If you could a few sentences on that I think the section would be golden.

Overall very well done! This is all I really have some once you do these few things for me I will pass it up for secondary.

I've fixed all of what you mentioned, I believe! Added system features, removed native species, fixed the spoilers, and have removed Nahkisa's affiliation with the Silver Jedi, as I just thought that meant which territory you were in. Hope that's good enough!

As long as you are aware that having the planet within the SJC influence cloud will technically put the planet under some sort of affiliation with them. As is the nature of the board, once you place on the planet on the map it does belong to the community. It can be invaded, others can write on it, and the SJC could develop things on the planet if they wished. If the planet was outside the any faction cloud, any faction dominion the hex it is in and the same scenario would apply.

If you are going to have it in their influence cloud you should probably keep the SJC affiliation in their. Understanding your reason for having them listed I would be fine with your history as is.

Go ahead and add it back in then tag me. We can bump this up after.
