Name: The Myrshavong

2xmqd.jpg

Designation: Sentient
Classification: Synapsid

Races:

Zerkavong: A hardier race than their base Myrshavong, only the Zerkavong don distinctive tusks that grow from the corners of their mouths. This is an evolutionary attribute, used to scrape berries from desert brush, while also used for defensive tactics against their natural predators - the desert Nexu. Zerkavong can be found in substantial number near the mountainous regions of Yuuzhan'tar.

Chichkavong: Chichkavong are a gentle, more docile brand of the Myrshavong. Their skin is smoother and their sloping foreheads recede into the only bony protrusions on their bodies, similar to horns. This variety of the Myrshavong are known to migrate away from the jungles, closer to the islands of Yuuzhan'tar and near large bodies of water.

Average height of adults: (Male) 2.1 meters (Female) 1.9 meters
Skin color: Gray, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Hair color: Black, White, Gray
Distinctions:

  • Four Arms.
  • Elongated Brow.
  • No Nose.
  • Two sets of pectoral muscles.
  • Tall.
  • Vertical pointed ears.
  • Jagged bone protrusions from their skin due to mutation.
  • Jet Black Blood.
  • "Absence" In The Force.
  • Sloping Forehead.
  • Hard Skin.
  • Prehensile Tail.
Zerkavong are known for walking with their shoulders hunched and their back bent, to create a smaller target while traversing the wide open valleys in their mountainous habitats. Chichkavong, on the other hand, stand a bit taller than their Myrshavong counterparts so they can see farther distances across the open waters and so they can reach the low-hanging fruit hanging from beach-side trees since their bodies are not adapted to climbing as well as their Myrshavong heritage.

All races have five fingers on all four hands and 3 toes each foot, with two eyes and an empty nasal socket. It bears mentioning that the Chichkavong's feet are webbed, as they often spend their time swimming the ocean.

Strengths:

  • [ + ] Four Arms. One primary hand (as in right-handed or left-handed) and 3 secondary hands. As many humans are predominantly "right-handed" or "left-handed", so too are the Myrshavong. Though this can double as a weakness, the fact of having more than twenty combined fingers is altogether a benefit.
  • [ + ] Light & Agile. The Myrshavong, though tall, are extremely light and quick on their feet. Natural long distance runners and capable of jumping higher distances than the human analog.
  • [ + ] Selectively bred. A splinter group of Yuuzhan Vong fanatics known as the Hrosha-Gul have been selectively breeding with only the strongest and fastest of the Myrshavong over several generations, using those deemed unworthy as ritual sacrifices to Yun-Yammka, the Slayer.
  • [ + ] Hardened skin. Due to the natural predisposition of the Myneyrsh's skin, the Myrshavong offshoot also possesses toughened skin that can easily glance or prevent blows from basic weaponry, such as stone-work daggers and arrows. Durasteel weapons, blaster bolts, and more dangerous weapons can pierce the skin - just as it could any human.
  • [ + ] Highly Resistant To Diseases. Myrshavong, being bred under the green thumb of the Yuuzhan Vong, are exposed to a myriad of highly contagious diseases and poisons at an early age. Due to this, their immunities to things like disease and poison are sky-high. Myrshavong proved highly resistant to the following poisons throughout their centuries as a species, nearly unfazed by the effects: Sith poison virtually had no effect, Sennari would instead render a Myrshavong unconcious instead of dead, Dozoisian Snark venom would leave a Myrshavong with flu-like symptoms for a couple of days, and Lexonite had zero effect. Poisons known to kill Myrshavong, despite this great resistance, are the deadly Irksh Poison and cryptberries.
  • [ + ] Multiple Spectrum Eye-sight. Myrshavong can see in multiple spectrums, including dark vision, infrared, and normal sight.
  • [ + ] Prehensile Tail. The tail of a Myrshavong can be used to grip objects, though it's main purpose in particular is to aid in finding and eating food in the trees.
  • [ + ] Tusks. The Zerkavong racial offshoot of the Myrshavong is known for its prominent tusks located on either side of its mouth.

Weaknesses:

  • [ - ] Mutations. Myrshavong offspring are highly susceptible to mutations that can either leave the offspring inert or disposable. Their culture's current demands are that they are ritually sacrificed to the gods of the Yuuzhan Vong in the hopes of a stronger blessing in the future.
  • [ - ] Two Hearts. Myrshavong's biology demands two hearts pumping at all times. If one fails, the host fails. Double the hearts, double the targets.
  • [ - ] Hatred of Technology. Very few Myrshavong have had exposure to the Galaxy at large other than their interactions with the Yuuzhan Vong. As such, Myrshavong share both parentage species' distaste for Galactic Standard Technology, opting for Yuuzhan Vong bio technology instead.
  • [ - ] Mental Degradation. Due to multiple mutations over the course of their species' evolution, most Myrshavong find themselves intellectually unstable. Though some serve as mere warriors with a lust for blood, a few have demonstrated high intellectual capabilities - but all suffer from some destabilizing element, in some way shape or fashion.
  • [ - ] Short Lifespans. Due to the violent, mutated and cancerous nature of the Myrshavong's life, many see their lives ended just short of forty years.
  • [ - ] Allergies. Myrshavong are extremely allergic to Bafforr Pollen, and many are known to have died from direct exposure to it.

Culture:

nako6.jpg

The Myrshavong are a highly volatile and highly supersititious species, with much of their short lives steeped in ritualistic behavior. They have rituals passed on to them by their Myneyrsh ancestors for almost anything, including walking, eating and sleeping. They serve as great natural farmers and builders, with many of their rituals focused on seasonal crops and the flora/fauna of the region they're located in. The Myrshavong also double as wonderful hunter and gatherers - due to their light-weight, they are able to move through a forest virtually undetected.

The Myrshavong have enough practice with spiritual and ritualistic elements that their concentration is able to combat severe mental manipulations, like those possessed by the Jedi and the Sith. In many cases, their unstable mental faculties also help with this issue, rather than hinder it.

Myrshavong wear simple clothing given to them by their Yuuzhan Vong counterparts. On Yuuzhan'tar, many Myrshavong are treated as near-equals, given over to the ranks of the Priest or Shaper caste systems. The Yuuzhan Vong value the Myrshavong as if one of their own, granting the strongest of the Myrshavong mutations a place in the prestigious Warrior caste. Long-lived Myrshavong have even dared to escalate further, being adopted into Domains while given names and titles of privilege and wealth.

Myrshavong societal culture is much like that of the Yuuzhan Vong - while they practice the rituals passed down by their Myneyrsh ancestors, they have also adopted the Domain structure of their Yuuzhan Vong ancestors. They call them "Broods", and they operate in much the same fashion - families pass down the names to subsequent families, and the Broods function as a simulated ruling oligarchy over the Myrshavong species. However, Broods are noted as secondary to their Domain counterparts.

Technology Level:

Due to the cultural nature of the Myrshavong and their own isolationism on the world of Yuuzhan'tar, Myrshavong abhor all Galactic Standard Technology.

Myrshavong have been bred with, trained upon, and taught how to use Yuuzhan Vong biots and the technology of the Far Outsiders. As such, they treasure life and sacrifice, preferring to grow and nurture their weapons for battle rather than manufacture non-living metal. Given the short lifespan of the Myrshavong, they have little time to contemplate or learn any other form of technology and stick to what they know - which is usually either passed down by previous generations of Myrshavong or taught to them by their far removed cousins, the Yuuzhan Vong.

General Behavior:

Myrshavong are extremely violent towards those of non-Yuuzhan Vong descent. They possess a natural highly volatile demeanor when regarding humans, as they view them as the penultimate destroyers of Yun-Yuuzhan and all of his creations. Deeming other species as creations of a heretical nature provide the Myrshavong with a very stand-offish, bullish attitude. This stems all the way back to the failed Ossus Project, nearly 700 years prior, as the Myneyrsh blamed the Humans of the Galactic Republic for the transmutation of a majority of their species.

Most Myrshavong are a simple people, but many aspire to climb the ranks of the Yuuzhan Vong ruling castes so that they might better integrate into their heritage as members of the Yuuzhan Vong. Darwinism, as well, is deeply rooted in their culture.

The strongest survive. Alpha males are prevalent in society, and hand to hand combat is often a normal resolution to civil disagreements.

History:

29 ABY:Aftermath. The Yuuzhan Vong War ends. The population of the Yuuzhan Vong fragments, with the majority of the Yuuzhan Vong fleeing into the Unknown Regions on Zonama Sekot. However, many resisted this recall, fracturing the population of the Yuuzhan Vong throughout the Galaxy and stranding them on the planets they were located on.

122 ABY: The Ossus Project. As part of a move to improve relations between the Yuuzhan Vong and the rest of the Galaxy, the New Jedi Order permitted Yuuzhan Vong shapers to use a desolate part of Ossus as a testing area for reconstruction. They experienced a short-lived success, as the project fell to sabotage and corruption.

123 ABY: Within a short timeframe of the Ossus Project being declared a failure, the mutated Myneyrsh species begin demonstrating a compatibility to mate with their Yuuzhan Vong shaper masters. The subsequent species, later named the Myrshavong, also demonstrate a quickened metabolism and ability to copulate with extreme prejudice. In light of the destructive failure of the Ossus Project, the Myrshavong are claimed a blessing of Yun-Lingni, the Yuuzhan Vong deity of chaos and evolution.

128 ABY: The Khatazz al'Lingni, the avatar of Yun-Ligni, is said to be born around this timeframe.

153 ABY: A lowly Myrshavong, known later as the Khatazz al'Lingni, begins holding private meetings with his people and claiming that the Galactic Federation Triumvirate was to be held responsible for the Massacre of Ossus and the failure of the Ossus Project, which had resulted in the mutation and genocide of a majority of the Myneyrsh. He claims that it is Yun-Ligni's command upon the Myrshavong that an evolution of the Galaxy take place, culminating with the domination of Wayland by the Myrshavong people. This leads the Myrshavong people into a frenzy, and leads to what is known by the Triumvirate as the Mutant's Rebellion.

154 ABY: The Mutant's Rebellion ends as soon as it begins, and Khatazz al'Lingni is put to the torch mercilessly in front of his people. His last words are "Hrosha-Gul", translated as "this is the price of pain."

238 ABY: The Myrshavong are visited by a Yuuzhan Vong named Jorka Jamaane. He states that he wishes to see their two people united, and offers to take some of them to "The Promised Land." Tribes of Myrshavong leave with Jorka into unknown space. It is later revealed that Jorka was one of the first settlers to find the planet Serus, and ends up settling near the mountains, establishing what would become the Myrshavong race of Zerkavong.

414 ABY: The Yuuzhan Vong are once again consulted for the New Galaxy Rebuilding Plan. In coordination with various organizations, they help the Galaxy rebuild planets that had fallen desolate to war. A prominent group of Yuuzhan Vong request that one barren world be given to them as a new refuge. A planet named Serus, the only habitable planet in its system, is chosen and a large populous of Yuuzhan Vong migrate there, renaming it Yuuzhan'tar.

417 ABY: Several Myneyrsh clans migrate from Wayland, mutated by the Yuuzhan Vong's corruption and having nowhere else to go.
um90y.jpg

418 ABY: Word reaches the Galaxy of the Yuuzhan Vong's migration to Yuuzhan'tar, and many species whose generations had been plagued and affected by the Yuuzhan Vong begin to migrate to Yuuzhan'tar.

428 ABY: The Gulag Plague reaches Yuuzhan'tar by way of a tradesman from the Black Markets down the Hydian Way who came peddling slaves. The Yuuzhan Vong proved remarkably resilient to the plague, with only a few casualties. They claimed it was the breath of Yun-Yuuzhan, that it had come to Yuuzhan'tar because the god was drawing in breath before taking a deep sleep.

429 ABY: The Myrshavong, having settled on Yuuzhan'tar, begin rapidly reproducing and integrating with the Yuuzhan Vong culture. Due to their physical superiority to the Yuuzhan Vong, they are held in much higher standard than any of the other races on Yuuzhan'tar and are held as equals. However, though most Yuuzhan Vong attribute the physical prowess of the Myrshavong to Yun-Yammka, the Myrshavong hold Yun-Lingni in much higher regard. As Yun-Lingni is a greatly feared god of chaos and evolution, the Yuuzhan Vong remain wary of their Myrshavong heirs.

628 ABY: The Myrshavong are visited by a woman named Yun-Harla, according to their holy texts. Many will know this as the Goddess of Deception, but the physical description matches that of Akala, an ancient Kwa deity who would later invade Dathomir.

738 ABY: Myrshavong elders receive an interstellar visitor known written in the ancient texts as "Kane a bar", which translates roughly as "Dung of a Meat Maggot." The physical description of this person matches that of Teferi Efreet, and it is stated that a great battle washed over the tribes of the Myrshavong, leaving several elders dead before the visitor finally left.

789 ABY: An artifical droid is destroyed. It's last words were "Omni…Omni…Omni…" The Myrshavong burned it on a massive pyre, while whispers began growing that the Galaxy would not leave their Promised Land alone forever.

837 ABY: The Awakening. A fanatical group named Hrosha-gul begins drumming up the populace of Yuuzhan'tar into a frenzy, claiming that Yun-Yuuzhan has awoken from his Yun'kai, or "godsleep." The group states that the Yuuzhan'tarri and all of their subjects should begin moving from the Creche of the Gods and on towards other planets to claim them in the glory of the Gods.

Good submission, couple of things need to be taken care of before I can put my stamp on it.

It says that the Myrshavong breathes Oxygen, I assume this was a mistake and you wanted to say Type I?

Besides that, I like to have some more clarification on two strengths, to be more specific: The Hardened Skin and the High Resistance against poison.

  • The Skin is amplified ten-fold, comparing to its already hardened skin, but what kind of resistance are we talking about now? Give me a quick run-down on what it can, and cannot resist resist et cetera.

  • Same goes for the High Resistance against poison. Give me a run-down on the extent of their resistance.

Tag me when you are ready, and we will continue.

Changes Made:

Breathes: Type I

[ + ] Hardened Skin: Removed “This is amplified ten-fold”. Added the following: Hardened skin.
