OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To make one of the planets in the Eriadu System accessible
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Canon: [X]

GENERAL INFORMATION
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: 6G
  • Climate: Volcanic
  • Primary Terrain: Volcanic hotlands, lavastreams
  • Atmosphere: Type III
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: N/A
  • Planetary Features: Muntiadu as a former completely uninhabited world, due to its inhospitable nature had never been truly colonized. However, over the past centuries there have been many attempts of smaller local mining companies to try and set up some sort of mining colony, thus it has a few stark reminders of failure in the form of small abandoned mining sites dotting its surface.
  • Major Locations:
    • Hellvault: The deepest and largest of the planet's surface lavastreams, meassuring up to a kilometer wide and stretching out for several hundred kilometers over the planet's surface.
    • Glimmer Reef: A massive Obsidian layer spanning several dozens of square kilometers, it is believes to be the coolest place on the planet and according to some scientists from Eriadu the cause to this might be an untapped source of water underneath the reef, while others simply denote it to the fact that it is closest to the planet's northern pole.
    • Brunga: The largest and most violent volcano on Muntiadu, a single eruption of this volcano is enough to cause ash-storms across nearly half the planet's surface, according to some it is the root cause of the planet's inhabitable status.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: N/A
  • Immigrated Species: N/A
  • Population: Uninhabited
  • Demographics: N/A
  • Primary Languages: N/A
  • Culture: N/A
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: N/A
  • Affiliation: Viceroyalty of the Eriadu system
    • Just as Jaroona, Muntiadu falls under the jurisdiction of the Eriadu Viceroyalty and by extension the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Though it is protected by both the Viceroyalty's own military forces and the Confederate Sector Fleets, it does not have any orbital defense platforms mainly due to both the danger of operating such systems near the volatile planet and because of its lack of strategic use so far.

  • Freedom & Oppression: N/A
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Multiadu has always been a harsh and unwelcoming world due to its close proximity to the Eriadu star which gave the system its name. It's surface dotted with volcanoes of varying sizes, lavastreams as wide as a Venator class Star Destroyer and as long as the Deathstar was wide truly made this planet something which was the last place on anyone's list for colonization. It's discovery in a sense was simple, as it was discovered by ancient astronomers on Planet Eriadu, though the people of Erinar would like to disagree with this statement, claiming they had discovered the planet before the Eriaduans did. In any case, even when the spacefaring age arrived, the change that people expected to come actually did not arrive, as Multiadu was indeed just as inhabitable as those early astronomers had said, with scientists agreeing that it would be pointless to try and colonize the planet as it needed not just a massive pool of resources, but also incredible wealth to fully support such an endeavour and even then the chance remained minimal to bear fruit in the long run.

Around 1000 BBY though, there had been rumors of large lommite and doonium deposits on the planet and this invited and incited adventurous mining companies to undertake the travel to the planet anyway, alas most, if not all these expeditions ended in failure at best, though some disasters were reported, like the complete destruction of the largest attempted mining colony near the basin of Brunga, which resulted in the loss of two hundred lives. After this, interest seemed to have dwindled and died out, safe for the very few that still hoped on amassing a fortune by harvesting the planet's supposed abundant resources.

Ten years ago though, Nargath Holdings started preparing for an effort of their own, amassing a fleet of fully equipped mining ships and training hundreds of personnel for the jobs as miners, contractors, etc. In the hope of constructing a mining base that would be big enough and sturdy enough to both amass a profit and withstand the harshness of the planet's climate, alas several turns of events made this another failure: the fact that the company at the time did not hold enough political sway to be granted permissions for such an undertaking within the then Eriadu Ascendancy and simply because despite the company's wealth, it was just not enough.

Luckily though, with the peaceful take over by the Confederacy of Independant Systems, came two major changes: the first was the fact that the Viceroyalty of Eriadu as the system was now called, fell into the control of a member of House Nargath with absolute authority and the second change were the immensely increased operations of Nargath Holdings ever since. The fact that there was now an accessibility to new technology on a greater scale, the Viceroyalty of Eriadu now had both the wealth and knowhow to try to finally overcome the harsh conditions of both the planet itself and any plan to colonize it by force.

As this submission is related to Jaroona, I'll be picking this one up as well.

Similar to my comments in that thread, please note that you will need to include a Permissions field as per the template.

You may also remove the Force Nexus parts, as those are not applicable to this submission.

A few recommended spelling, spacing, and capitalization changes noted in highlight, in case you want to correct those before this is locked.

I like how you include the government of the Confederacy in the template sections. I'd be curious to see that expanded upon in the history. How has the influence of the Confederate Viceroyalty impacted the plans to develop Muntiadu, if at all?

Also, noting that this planet has 6G gravity and a Type III atmosphere, how are these environmental factors taken into account for the development of a profitable venture (or lack thereof to date)?

Those are my thoughts. I look forward to yours in reply.

This is a very clean submission. However, the planet itself seems to offer little in the way of Roleplay opportunities, no population of active locations. Due to their ability to be placed on the Chaos Map each planet needs to be an active RP location.

In this situation there are two options I would offer you :

1) To modify the planet to give it locations that people can RP in, and have a reason to. A few mining camps, maybe a small research colony and the like.
2) If you want to maintain the nature of the planet, then I would recommend putting in a system submission instead where you can provide details of the planets in the system as well as any other astronomical objects such as asteroid belts.
