SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Diagnostic System
    • Diagnostic system runs automatic maintenance checks on the chakrams and is able to identify parts, systems, and components in need of repair or replacement.
    • An integrated electronics and communication suite links to virtually any system, allowing the wielder to obtain hard data from the chakrams’ systems, such as running temperatures, stability, diagnostic information, etc.
  • Remote Link
    • The chakrams can be controlled by Qyssiyana via a miniaturized comm link, allowing her to interface with them remotely. This typically takes the form of a neural link so that the wielder can control their functions through thought, but interfacing can also be executed via other means.
  • Mono-Molecular Edge
    • Each chakram has an edge honed to a single molecule of thickness. Thus, the edges are extremely, surgically sharp, increasing potential cutting performance.
  • Svolten Rhyolite Treatment
    • Allows the chakrams to retain their integrity and cutting power even after sustaining hard impacts with the blade of a lightsaber or with especially dense materials.
  • Trapped Grip
    • Controlled by an integrated biometric authentication access control system which allows only Qyssiyana and anyone she permits to activate and wield the chakrams. Each of the chakrams have an anti-theft system, whereby the grip will discharge a potent electrical energy field in the event that the weapon is handled by an unauthorized agent, with the potential to cause severe burn injuries to the victim.
  • Repulsorlift Engine
    • Each chakram has a miniaturized repulsorlift engine capable of independent flight at typical speeds of 340 m/s, with a maximum speed of 850 m/s. The engine is also rated to function underwater, albeit with reduced speed (typical underwater speeds of 100 m/s and maximum underwater speed of 150 m/s). The chakrams can be remotely controlled by the wielder via direct neural link (or other means), allowing them to be directed in flight by remote command.
    • Kinetic Rebounding System
      • Allows a chakram to deflect/bounce harmlessly off of select surfaces and unintended targets while maintaining lethal cutting power against intended targets. The chakram’s outer edge is lined with a short-range repulsion field emitter network that can be directly controlled by the wielder via the remote link.
      • Bounce Mode
        • When the chakram strikes a surface/unintended target, the repulsors activate for a split second, deflecting the blade harmlessly off the object, acting as a brief "bounce shield".
        • This prevents the blade from digging in, instead ricocheting at an angle (like skipping a stone on water).
        • The angle of deflection can be pre-set or adjusted mid-flight via controls.
      • Cutting Mode
        • When striking an intended target, the repulsion field network remains inactive, allowing the ultra-sharp edge to slice deep.
        • The lack of repulsor cushioning (or “bounce”) facilitates full penetration.
    • Inertial Directional Surge Core
      • An internal directional energy capacitor stores kinetic impact force from a bounce and releases it as an impulse surge on the next vector. This allows the chakram to maintain its velocity and kinetic energy regardless of prior momentum loss from the previous bounce. It also compensates for velocity and kinetic energy decay on multibounce throws/trajectories.
  • Gyroscopic Stabilizer
    • Each chakram has an integrated gyroscopic stabilizer, which improves the stability of the weapon in flight, ensuring that the blade stays aligned with the target.
  • Ultrasonic Vibration Generator
    • A high-grade vibration generator, the ultrasonic vibration generator causes the chakrams’ blades to vibrate with extreme speed and force, giving the weapon the ability to tear through flesh, hard organic carapace, thick stone, and heavy metal alloys the likes of titanium and durasteel. In addition, the blades have the potential to inflict devastating, gaping wounds and possibly even dismember, with little more than a touch.
  • Resilient Construction
    • Owing to their material construction, the chakrams are very resistant to lightsabers, vibroblades, and energy weapons.
  • Collapsing Mirrors Retraction System
    • The blade can retract within the inner ring of the chakram via molecular disruptor mirror cells for safe and easy storage. From here, the chakram itself can collapse down to half of its active size.
  • Miniaturized FAE/S-10 Concealment System
    • Each chakram has a miniaturized concealment system, allowing the weapons to be rendered invisible to sensors, senses, scanners, and other means of detection. To compensate for their invisibility, the system has functionality for Qyssiyana to perceive the chakrams through HUD link (which highlights the chakrams in her HUD) and neural link.
    • Phase I “Susurration” Anti-Sonic Silencer
      • Each Moonpetal Ring has an integrated anti-sonic silencer that renders the weapon completely silent, making it ideal for stealth. Of particular note, this is generally utilized as a passive system. Thus, the anti-sonic silencer remains active even if other subsystems of the concealment systems are not activated.
  • Miniaturized Passive Sensor Mask
  • Miniaturized Gravitic Stabilizer
  • Rust Inhibitor
  • Passive De-Ionization System
STRENGTHS
  • Rip and Tear: The Moonpetal Ring operates on two destructive principles at once: atomic-level slicing and resonant mechanical shredding. Owing to its monomolecular edge, the blade needs almost no kinetic pressure to cut—its lip has the potential to part molecular bonds as it contacts flesh, fabric, or plating. Thus, the chakram’s edges will likely bite instantly rather than relying on blunt-impact momentum. Layered over that, the ultrasonic generator drives the cutting surface through extreme microscopic oscillations that propagate violent shear forces into the struck material. Rather than a neat, narrow incision, hits are expanded into ragged, widened channels as tissue, fibers, or composite laminates are torn apart by vibration even as the edge severs cleanly at the molecular level. In practice, this combination makes the chakram potentially devastating at virtually every engagement envelope within its design parameters. Thus, a clean hit to unprotected flesh is likely to be brutally efficient: deep gashes, severed muscles, tendons, and likely immediate limb loss on strike zones. Instead of sealing tissue, inflicted wounds are likely to remain wide open and uncontrollably hemorrhagic, with layers of flesh literally unzipped and shredded potentially beyond repair. Against armoured targets, the monomolecular lip is liable to slice through composite plating with negligible friction, while the ultrasonic resonance fractures backing structures, shears mounting points and fasteners, and delaminates layered armors; even reinforced plates may crack, spall, and open under repeated or glancing strikes. Finally, even glancing contacts or shallow grazes may be exceptionally dangerous, as the vibration couples through materials to cause internal component failure, crippling joints and servos, shattering visors, and producing painful blunt-shock trauma at a distance from the cut.
  • Swift Slaughter: A high-powered miniaturized repulsorlift engine in each Moonpetal Ring boosts the velocity of Qyssiyana’s throws to blinding speeds.
  • Resilience: Owing to the Kov’dra construction, the chakram is incredibly resistant to direct applications of the Force, making the weapon extremely difficult to manipulate telekinetically. The incorporation of anti-Ion/EMP hardening measures lends excellent resistance to electromagnetic discharges. In addition, the gravitic stabilizer allows the shuriken to resist tractor beams and repulsorlift jammers. In all, the Moonpetal Rings are incredibly resilient and rugged, able to function in zones of high electromagnetic surges, repulsorlift disruption, and Force-user activity.
  • Rupture: The energy-reflective nature of the ultrachrome (used as a nanocoating on the frame and the blade) repels energy fields and gives the chakram a very high chance of passing through energy shields. This allows Qyssiyana to engage energy-shielded targets with a good expectation of success.
  • Null Halo: A miniaturized passive sensor mask nullifies the chakrams' signature to effectively zero, minimizing the chances that they are not picked up by both technological and organic sensors. In addition, a sound damper renders the weapons totally silent. Finally, each chakram has a comprehensive concealment system which renders the chakram invisible to sensors, senses, scanners, and other means of detection. Finally, integrated Taozin renders the weapon virtually invisible to Force senses.
WEAKNESSES
  • Melee: While still lethal in melee, chakrams are ultimately suboptimal compared to a traditional lightsaber or vibroblade, due to a lack of reach. Their ability to block incoming attacks is inferior to that of a standard length lightsaber or vibroblade.
  • Fried: The chakrams depend heavily on their electronics for lethality and operational efficiency. EMP and Ion discharges of high enough intensity could compromise these systems or even disable the weapon entirely, rendering it as little more than dead weight.
  • Exposure Window: Like any chakram, throwing the Moonpetal Rings requires motion and form—which might be telegraphed. Although it is possible to mitigate this demand (often through snap throws), against ranged enemies, this can create brief exposure windows where the user may be vulnerable to return fire. In the same token, the act of recovering the chakrams can be risky. The split-second intervals of a close-quarters fight can make recovering them impractical, even with the repulsorlift engine.
  • Circumvented: While the Kov’dra construction interferes with direct Force use against the chakrams, Indirect applications of the Force (i.e. using the Force to generate bursts of pressurized air) are still effective in defending against the chakrams.
DESCRIPTION
It was only after her escape from slavery (facilitated by Darth Virelia) did Qyssiyana fully began her martial training, so as to complement her neuropsychic abilities. In this, she chose to specialize in wielding the chakram, a weapon class that complements her enhanced depth perception and range-finding abilities owing to her third eye. Using the stipend she was given after joining the Dark Court, Qyssiyana commissioned her own set of chakrams, designed to facilitate a stealth-centric fighting style.

The Moonpetal Rings were designed as an extension of Qyssiyana’s mind and body. Each ring measures a precise 24 centimeters in diameter, balanced to perfection so they can sail through the air in silent arcs or whirl in close-quarters combat without betraying her position. The monomolecular edge, when activated in tandem with the ultrasonic vibration generator, allows the chakrams to shear through most conventional armor, bone, dense organic carapace and durasteel plating with surgical precision.

Yet their true artistry lies in their stealth architecture. Embedded within each weapon is a miniaturized cloaking system, rendering the chakrams effectively invisible in-flight. Their auditory signature is masked by an anti-sonic silencer, leaving virtually no audio trace for foes to follow. Forged from Kov’dra, an alloy engineered to resist both the cutting power of lightsabers and the invasive tendrils of Force telekinesis, the chakrams defy traditional countermeasures that Force-sensitives might employ. All in all, the Moonpetal Rings weapons are equal parts symbol and instrument: elegance sharpened to lethality, finesse made fatal, and silence made beauty.
