Character Arador Terrix, "The Governor"

Imperial_Terrix.png

"The fact of the matter is, you can never completely get rid of crime. Oh, believe me I've tried. You can suppress it, you can try to prevent it, but as long as there is sentient life in the galaxy, there will be crime. What is one to do, then? Crime is a beast, but beasts can be tamed. Domesticated. And it is much easier to control a beast when you hold the reins."

STRENGTHS
+ Diplomatic & Political Acumen:
the former aide-de-camp of a Moff before the collapse that wiped out most of the higher-ups of the First Order, Terrix is an experienced politician and diplomat, both from observing his Moff and the duties he performed for him. Since then, Terrix has had plenty of experience: reaching out to wayward former territories and organizing infrastructure in the First Order's territory on Pa'Desh, then bringing new worlds into the fold as an ambassador.
+ Poker Face: Terrix’s grave features and stony, sober expression do little to give away the Moff’s thoughts or emotions, making it difficult for those who are not Force-Sensitive to read him.

WEAKNESSES
- The Attempt On My Life Has Left Me Scarred and Deformed:
The attempt on Terrix's life left him considerably burned and scarred, meaning he has greatly reduced stamina, and excessive physical activity causes him pain.
- Obvious Target: The oxygen device Terrix wears on his chest presents an easy target, and if it were damaged or disabled he would have more difficulty breathing clearly.

APPEARANCE:
Terrix is a tall, somewhat lean man in his early sixties, with grey hair and blue eyes. His dour face shows signs of aging, and can typically be found sporting a solemn expression. Following his near-death in a shuttle bombing, the former Moff suffered major burns to his body and face, along with the loss of most of his hair and his left arm from the elbow down. Now, he dresses in attire befitting an Imperial politician-turned-warlord, with an oxygen device strapped to his chest.

BIOGRAPHY:
In the First Order’s heyday, Arador Terrix worked as an aide-de-camp of one of the governments Moffs of the Council of Moffs, serving as his personal secretary, assistant, and most trusted advisor. For years he carried out the duties of his station, aiding his Moff in governing and accompanying him everywhere he traveled. Terrix knew basically every detail of his life, his plans from the second he woke up to the second he went to sleep (often because he was the one who made the Moff’s schedule) and had access to all the same connections as the Moff due to his position.

Which, of course, made it that much more tragic when the two of them were separated during the Ssi-Ruuk invasion of First Order territory. Terrix was able to escape to the palace’s shuttle bay, but he was forced to leave the Moff behind as the Ssi-Ruuk closed in on them. He moved the shuttle to rendezvous with the First Order’s surviving members, upon which time he (somewhat controversially) proclaimed himself as a Moff. He reasoned that, no matter how much territory they remained in control of, no matter how much experience the admiralty and the generals had, a governing figure was essential for survival. With no Supreme Leader, no Grand Moff, someone had to take the reins, and with all of his experience in governmental duties Terrix reasoned he was most fit for the job.

Terrix was been hard at work rebuilding First Order infrastructure on Pa'Desh, even attending a meeting with Darth Carnifex and the Sith alongside Grand Admiral Rausgeber, Director Sybil Shepard, Special Agent Delilah Graham, and Lieutenant Commander Vonnegut Pyre where he attempted to secure resources for his department. During this meeting, Terrix's claim to the rank of Moff was seemingly officially acknowledged by the Grand Admiral. The molecular furnaces received after the meeting were put to good use by the Moff, turning rubble and droid wreckage into usable construction materials to repair structural damage to the Sprawl and other locations around The Old Fort after an attack by the Eternal Empire.

His efforts towards the preservation of the First Order did not go unnoticed, and he was invited to a private meeting in Prosperia on Dosuun, where the seeds were planted for a revival of the First Order. Terrix, along with Ariel Yvarro, Sythe Jarok, and a few other members eager for the once-proud empire to make a comeback, vowed to devote themselves to bringing about the second coming of the First Order, and the Moff began efforts with Ariel to establish a new, stable government on former First Order worlds.
Arador served officially as a member of the Moff Council of the reformed First Order, helping to rebuild government structure and establish relations with potential allies.

About a year after his trip to Seoul on a diplomatic mission, an assassination attempt blew up Terrix's shuttle, nearly killing him. He slipped out of the public eye following this event, letting the galaxy think the bombing succeeded. With his contacts, his wealth, and his diplomatic know-how, Terrix has been hard at work laying the foundation for his next move. Ironically enough, his government experience translated fairly well to the underworld, and he has made a name for himself as "The Governor," hiding his true identity and forming a reputation as an enigmatic and benevolent crime boss, often removing an area's existing criminal element and leaving it better off. Unsurprisingly, the syndicate makes heavy use of Imperial surplus, and often operate along Imperial ideals. As a result of facial reconstruction following the explosion, the only potential clue as to the Governor's true identity is the missing hand (which itself is hardly uncommon) and the slugthrower pistol that sits in a leather holster on his hip, itself likely only identifiable to those who had served in the First Order.
