Mission to Alderaan

[member="Commander Firestorm"] [member="Kaiden Rohn"] [member="Andulf Nicholas Teraan"] [member="Mensa Dak"] [member="Rashae"] [member="Cambria Zadira"] [member="Nicolas Thorne"]

The introductions were short, clearly they all wanted to get on to the reason for the meeting. Faith however looked at Sargeant Rohn she could see he was visibly upset try as much as he had to control his emotions. She felt bad that this meeting had dredged up these feelings for him. Everyone tried to put the Sargeant in his place, or remind him of his place.

Faith stood up and walked towards the group her eyes on Sargeant Rohn for the moment, "I understand your feelings about this. That the Republic we both served is gone, that the name these Republicans is the same the name has much attached to it. I started my career under the Galactic Republic learned many things. One thing I learned as a Senator sometimes we need to accept change especially when it is out of our control. The Chancelor Pro-Tem is here to tell us what makes their Republic different, or the same as the last."

Faith turned to face the Chancellor Pro-Tem, "I look forward to our discussions about this." She looked back to the Sargeant, "Many people died trying to preserve the old Republic, for every good thing there was there seems to be a equally evil, bad thing." Faith smiled to Jedi Zadira, "My Aunt and Brother are both Jedi and have served the light for many years. I instinctively trust Jedi."

Her dark brown eyes rested on Commander Firestorm the one who parked a ship over her home, "Commander you are welcome here, just no parking ships over our capital. It makes us all very uneasy." She smiled.

She turned her attention to Dr. Lovous, "Thank you for your kind words I wanted to preserve her memory more than anything, the Mountain Palace is open for anyone wishing to read her journal, or see where she lived. It's...a beautiful place. My Tia Rianna is a healer, and a doctor perhaps you will meet her. She is often here on Alderaan, and travels to other worlds offering medical care."

She stopped just a few steps from the Sargeant, "I cannot say yes or no to support of an organization merely because it bears a name I recognize from another time. We must in all fairness hear them out. You are welcome to stay and listen."

She smiled and hoped she had given him understanding of her motive, "Count Teraan your presence is welcome. Count Terran is also interested in what the new Galactic Republic has to say."

She turned and headed back towards Draco he did look rather princely today didn't he. She turned back to the group, "Perhaps we should adjourn to the room next door which has been set up for this meeting. " She only wanted to greet them in the throne room everyone seemed to want to see it, so..she accommodated them.

Commander Firestorm

ARC Trooper Out of Time, Commander of the Unbroken
Firestorm nodded, "I will be sure not to do it in the future." He casually levitated his helmet back and forth between his hands with the force after he had spoke, patiently waiting for the discussions to begin.

Nicolas looked the Sergeant in the eye as he spoke, no emotion, either positive or negative, crossing his face as he let the Sergeant speak. After the Sergeant spoke, Nicolas took a moment, looking back to [member="faith organa"] as she addressed him. He smiled and nodded, offering a polite nod and smile of greeting to [member="nicholas teraan"]. He took a deep breath as he contemplated his response to all that had happened. The intrusion of one who wasn't part of their delegation, that seemed illogically hostile to it despite his assurance that he was a former Republic soldier, wasn't precisely how Nicolas had hoped this talk would go. He knew he would have to convince the Prince Consort, [member="draco vereen"]. He didn't know all of the details, but just the primer he'd gotten from his intelligence sources had given him a bleak picture rather than an avenue of support. Faith as well had been harmed by the shell the Republic had become, and Nicolas had come knowing he'd be working from a bad position.

Still, Nicolas knew that in order for the Galactic Republic to become anything more than his dream, he'd have to deal with all of the criminally evil things that were done in the name of the faction before him. Nicolas looked back at [member="kaiden rohn"], glanced over his ribbons with a practiced eye, and addressed him first.

"I do not know if you object to the Galactic Republic trying to become what it once was and should have always been. Those ribbons on your chest pre date the Lasedri coup, and Ali Hadrix as Supreme Commander, and Suravi. If you have lost faith in the Republic, I do not blame you. Many in this room have ample reason to mistrust the state I represent." He turned back to Faith. "I am well aware that many evils were done in the name of the Republic." He took a breath, looking between Faith and Draco as he thought for a moment. "I cannot correct those evils, I was not present for them then, and I cannot change them now. However, I am not here to ask you to forget the things done in the name of the Republic under other leaders. To do so would be the height of hubris and folly, it would be the same as simply letting the Republic's name fade into history, as the Sergeant here suggested. We are not here to do that. I have gathered those I know to be loyal to the ideal that the Republic represented, once upon a time. An ideal that you represented, Your Highness, when you were a Senator and Minister, and one you are known to still represent now. The Republic we represent is striving to become a symbol of that ideal again. We have a long road to walk, but I know the people with me are willing to go the distance to see it done."

Nicolas paused then, taking in the Princess and her Consort. They wanted to know precisely why he was here, not the simple platitudes that anyone could spout. They wanted to know what he wanted to ask of them.

"Our purpose here is to start repairing the bridges that were burned before. We wish to offer friendship with Alderaan, possibly a trade agreement, and we go from there. I hope these talks will allow us to decide what will be required to secure your trust. As I said, we are prepared for a long road."

And as it were in brief moment of silence between those gathered in the throne room that soon enough the princess Faith replied back. Addressing each concern and replying back as both eloquent or non-polarizing to either side with grace. Knowing all too well the seem faint underlying tension there was in the room Which for him was not something he knew first hand the reason as much he knew Ja'rrod had.

But just the same he was all but thankful that he'd been able to hold his tongue. Though he couldn't fault the trooper that spoke out so boldly. Much had been lost in terms of lives and trust during the wars he'd spoken of. Where he most likely got or earn the stripes upon his chest. A great deal of pain as well feeling of betrayal in his voice stem from truth or realization that came after no less.Which was something he personally knew himself in a way. Given the way, things or events transpired to him during those time. Which for the most part had been something he too had been work to make peace with.

At which time seem his thought were soon distracted and brought back to the proceedings at hand by her words as she spoke to address him.

"Count Teraan your presence is welcome. Count Terran is also interested in what the new Galactic Republic has to say."
Which he all but respectfully nod in agreement as he'd and turn to face the Republic contingent.
"......that I am as her highness had spoken. In the interest of both the crown and our house interested to see what the republic envoy intention or reason. "

It was then Princess Faith turns to address all those present to say.

"Perhaps we should adjourn to the room next door which has been set up for this meeting. "

To which he then turn to Ja'rrod before back to the crowd.

"Indeed and if your highness or the republic envoy would not object. If House Captain Ja'rrod join us in these proceeding as well..."

Rashae smiled politely as the edges to that smile softened at the grace of the Princess. “I would be most honored to see that... one day. My tasks as yet may take my time as is current.” With a bow of her head towards the Royal Princess.

“I would like to meet this healer. Perhaps I will come across her in my travels. Talking to another colleague can be most refreshing.” The doctor said in a diplomatic voice. She had heard of Healers as they mend by some unseen phenomenon they called The Force. Its not that she was against the force or anything. The Jedi have served with it time and time again according to history. Rashae trusted her science, not something she couldn't see or feel.

The princess skillfully weaved her diplomatic way through the various responses, introductions and situations. Rashae waited patiently and quietly to be ushered into the aforementioned room to reconvene their proceedings. The court has seen and likely, after they had left, will chitter and chatter as the rumor mill will flood the city.

She eyed the Count. The Alderaanean doctor vaguely recalled her father mentioning this particular Count. The raven haired medical professional couldn't recall a lot of detail. It did make her a bit nervous, but this was not her sandbox.

Location: Aldera City, Near the Palace.
Objective: Kill some time while the Jedi work (Have at it)

Alexander had decided not to join in the Republic's little mission to talk with Alderaan's leaders. He was no longer Eshan's senator and unsure if Eshan would even need him to retake that mantle, a situation that he could figure out when it came to pass. Until then, he had taken the time to peel away from the rest of those who had escaped Denon and made their way for some Haven. He in truth also had no idea what Thorne was attempting to do here, how Alderaan would be able to help or if he was looking to reunite it with the rest. The result would unlikely be reunification, considering the connections in place. But it was a happy thought he was sure the Jedi wanted to believe in.

Plus the woman they were meeting was Faith Organa, a woman he had met once but honestly did not believe would remember Alexander, who had been eight years younger when the meeting had occurred. So he took the time to contact some of his aides on Eshan and keep affairs in order while also relaxing after having gotten his body bruised up thanks to those radicals. He still could feel his body spasming from that damnable stun baton, but it had faded to this point where he could keep them unnoticed by those around him.

His eyes looked up towards the starport, wondering if the crew was keeping his craft ready to go, but that thought was soon enough brushed aside. He had other things he could do while he waited for those Jedi and soldiers to finish their work, after all, he had heard about a certain museum he could visit and maybe inspect some of the objects there. He always enjoyed history and with a planet like this, there was four hundred years worth of rebuilding he was sure had left behind something of interest. It was a shame nothing from the former planet had survived the unfortunate events of the ancient empire, but it seemed the Alderaanians had been able to recover.

Draco raised an eyebrow. The sergeants words echoed his own thoughts, that he held in private. Now was not the time or place for him to voice those opinions. Faith was well aware of his thoughts going into this meeting, and he would confide in her afterwards all the same. But during? No, that would be most inappropriate. He had already spoken once, but it had been in response, protectively. In meetings like this it was important that the Republic see who really held authority over Alderaan, that despite all his influence, wealth, power, and warriors; Alderaan was sovereign and ruled itself. That she and Queen Arianna were still the real authority in the system.

Faith spoke calmly and level with the Republicans, and some of her words troubled him. The Jedi were not all good, though many of them had good intentions, it was the Jedi that had left him to die, that had tried to kill him when he sought their assistance. He had learned to distrust them, to hold them at arm's length and ensure they lacked power over him. So far his experiences with the Republic military had been, negative to say the least. His hopes for them were low.

However, despite his personal displeasure at the meeting, he kept it hidden. He was the prince-consort after all and was supposed to be supportive and at his wife's side in times like these. And so he was. Draco smiled at Faith and politely extended his arm to escort her from the dais to the meeting chamber at the head of the small congregation.

And so it was held under breath Ja'rrod did his best keep his manner in check. As he gazed over at the Republic delegation which for the most part seem been compromised of a fair mix of Soldiers, Jedi and some other civilians alike. Which at best for him the civilians he did not much bother by as much as the Jedi and the Troopers. For as much could be said about it that from his own experience during the Republic conflict. That he mostly distrusted them and was if anything weary of doing so again.

But as it were duty called and he was no less thankful that the Count spoke on his behalf. Introducing him to the delegation for if he figured have done it on his own. There was no telling how things would have gone. For what it's worth he was at best a soldier and fighting were what he did best. Not all these fanciful talks or such..... but at any rate hearing or seeing no objection he then fell behind the Count. Opting to concentrate on his duty that anything else that is. Until he happens to turn his head and catch someone from the Republic delegation. The doctor he assumes she was glance over at the count. Which he no less dutifully noted for now and left for later to look into.
in.

Kaiden nodded at the Senator. He silently sat down, staring daggers at @Nicholas Thorne. The Republic only deserved to have pennies on it's eyes now. He held his tongue, until he was called upon again. He fixed his uniform as he sat, then turned to [member="Andulf Nicholas Teraan"]. Alderaan had such petty politics. He narrowed his eyes at him. He wanted to reach inside his pocket and put on the knuckle duster and beat the living shit out of him, but he decided that getting tazed and thrown into jail wasn't on his to-do list for the day. But interrupting another political meeting? That was still on his list.

Doctors. Jedis. Politicians. Soldiers. So many came to call a code blue on the Republic. All they needed to do was let go and let the galaxy sort itself out. The Republic was dead. It didn't deserve life anymore. He was there to make sure that the fledgling Republic's flame never produced more than an ember.

Firestorm took a few steps back from the group not wanting to get involved in another dispute, especially one that could put the whole diplomatic mission on the line. He turned to look at the man who had interrupted the meeting. As he examined the man he took note of the several medals and ribbons on the uniform he wore, also noting is was that of the Havoc Squad. Firestorm placed his helmet back under his arm and continued to observe.

It was then under held breath that for moment Andi felt a slight sense of relief that for once. Seem like her highness Faith quick thinking and impressive diplomatic skills that a seemingly contested issue that unexpectantly erupted. Had thus far seemed somewhat resolve if not averted to escalate any further.

At which time with seem on cue and seem no one's objection that gather was then slowly ushered into one the side rooms. Where hopefully the issue at hand would finally be addressed and discussed. But just the same under the watchful eyes of his House captain eyes. as well his. He could not help take note of two things thus far that caught his attention. That of one being the interesting look that the visiting medical envoy with the republic delegation had that stroke his fancy. At which in back his mind he'd figure to probably address later once the meeting concluded And secondly of the steely hard and cold gaze one of the trooper.....one who'd seem spoke out of place earlier. Seem to eye him with keen interest....of ill will or what not. He figured it be best left for later or when the opportune time came.

But for now, it was the meet and discussion that was to be shortly that. In his mind took precedence above all for right or wrong. It as he would assume or presume could break or make the tension brought about by the Republic envoy delegation here subside or worse. Which on all account was something be his primary concern.

"Dr. Lovous I can arrange that, she splits a lot of her time on Alpha Mae. Perhaps a meeting, if you like." Faith did not mind asking her Tia to meet with other Doctors it was least was a way to create a network of doctors and healers to help when war broke out across the galaxy. Yes, she would do this, Faith nodded.

Faith listened as she took Draco's arm repeating the words that would define this meeting, "friendship and trade." Faith walked slowly into the conference room she slowly turned then indicated all should sit down. She however remained standing. "We've heard these words before, friendship and trade." She folded her hands before her as she looked at [member="Nicolas Thorne"] , "Are you truly aware of what those who represented the Republic did? Not only to Alderaan but to others?" They had to know, one simply did not hand wave history away.

Faith noticed that [member="Kaiden Rohn"] did walk with them, though he still seemed upset. Faith made sure that Count [member="Andulf Nicholas Teraan"] was with them, she had an idea in regards to him. His interest in the Republic. If she decided to "make friends" the Count would be instrumental.

[member="Commander Firestorm"] [member="Rashae"] [member="Cambria Zadira"] [member="Draco Vereen"]

Those ice blue eyes caught the glance from both men from subtle glances. Rashae did not change her expression or movements as they filed into the meeting room. It changed only when the Princess gave assurance of a meeting of a colleague.

“It is well your Highness. Shared knowledge would be greatly beneficial. “ The woman's brow furrowed as the wheels were turning. Maybe, just maybe.

She fell in behind the others of her delegation as they entered in. She would sit more to the rear as she was not of high importance. Actually she preferred it that way. A soft beep went off as she pulled her datapad. Maintenance logs were coming in of her medical equipment. There was a sigh as she thumbed through the report. They had a long way to go. The calibration was wicked off. Some things needed a full refurb and other pieces needed replacing completely. Just getting general supplies was problematic.

As she focused on this she was a little unaware of much else as she made notations of certain musts. Her update of the bio-contaminants sensors was complete. This update would be ordered for the whole ship, devices and the rest of the fleet. This was something she thought was important first. The words 'Friends and Trade' were thrown out there. She wanted to facepalm at that. Wasn't jedi supposed to be really good diplomats? She provided the Count and his second one of her polite cool smile and a slight inclined nod. The Count looked like he could play the game and play it well.

When she finally looked up and put her datapad away, there was a polite smile. There was no apology as she was doing what was necessary to ensure good medical practice and continuity of care. She may not have a good bed side manner, in fact she was generally considered the ice princess. There was no question her medical acuity, her ability to find answers from a pile of manure was incredibly proficient. She was determined to turn this manure into a garden. If only she had an atomic spectro device. There was a bit of a sigh as she turned her eyes back to her maintenance report.

A thought came to her, what if a knowledge share could be offered. The update for bio-contaminants would not be widely distributed at all. She tapped her datapad in a thoughtful way waiting for an opening and at least till after the initial negotiations occurred. That meant she had to trust the Jedi to actually say a few useful things for the Alderaaneans. Well, maybe. The Doctor would bide her time.

"We've heard these words before, friendship and trade." She folded her hands before her as she looked at Nicolas Thorne , "Are you truly aware of what those who represented the Republic did? Not only to Alderaan but to others?"
Nicolas nodded as they walked over and he took the seat offered to him, only after the Princess sat.

"I am all too aware of the shortcomings, misdeeds, and crimes of my forebears. I also know that my words will not be enough to change anyone's mind. It will take action, and time, to prove that the Galactic Republic is coming back to the right path." He said with a sad smile. He glanced at each of the people assembled and nodded. "We don't deserve anyone's forbearance. Nonetheless, if we are to walk the path I am laying out, we need to try to extend the olive branch and make amends wherever we are able."

Location: Outside the Royal Museum of Alderaan

Alexander looked on at the entrance to the Royal Museum of Alderaan from where he stood, the case he had been carrying resting with its butt on the ground and his hand on the top of it. He smiled and picked up the case, holding it in one hand while he walked towards a bench that was empty and full of room with plenty of people around it. Taking his seat he sat the case on his lap before allowing the latches to be opened and for him to withdraw the wooden instrument inside it. His hands ran over the object before putting it on his collarbone and putting a cloth on the chin rest, leaving him to draw the bow for the instrument and to begin playing it.

The first notes were rather simple, something to make sure he had the instrument sounding right before finally continuing on with the music. It was a simple tune with the idea of grabbing the attention of people and giving them something to enjoy and dance to without any formal way in doing so. Alexander smiled as he played and looked at those around him, his body moving a bit with the song and beckoning people to join in with him in enjoying it. He was simply enjoying himself and waiting for the others to be done, wanting to pass the time that it took for decisions to be made. He wondered if he would be able to rejoin the Republic properly in the future but for now he would help them where he could and enjoy himself when he could not.

And s o it was that once all those delegations from either side...may they been Republic or Aladeraanian enter the halls that everyone seems somewhat settle. Although even given the seem palpable stillness of those present beneath the surface he could only assume the sort of turmoil at the same time distrust the other had to one across from them. But then again after all the turmoil and strife not to mention the loss of life each side had to face, endure and incur, The chance, however, remote or difficult it may seem still linger......as faint sense of hope at best.

At which time once all had settled that from her vantage point in the center of the meet hall with her consort by side that her highness. Then notion for all to sit which he did as took a seat right across but not far off to her highness side. Which may have been so as even thought due to the war and strife had all but seem reduced their family to a minor house. Given that on top of the physical loss in terms of industry or holding they still held compare to the other houses. Along with the loss of his beloved father and brother in law who's place and shoes he had to fill. Thought it was with a heavy heart and in whose memory he did his best to represent well. Here in what seem to be his first official outing as Count of their house. And loyal subject as the well close supporter of the crown that was of Royal house of Organa.

"Friendship and trade."

As soon enough when all were seated that her highness address their guest and crowd.

"We've heard these words before, Friendship and trade."

Which soon enough as simple as it would seem the meet began as with her next question posed and answered given. To which in silence he no less kept careful note of as he listened. Keep it all in mind as he then came across his arms and turn to gaze upon the opposite delegation. With a mix of curiosity and at best uncertainty thought without ill will. As much those, he presumes that were all around them that had been there and with their own eyes witness that which was spoken. Something which he was not so much privy of given the fact he was of the world. Kept safe by his father will and protection.....for reason only know to them and those of the royal household. Which he was not fully aware of the reason.Though at best most of the other house especially that of their rival speculated and seem to flaunt to whisper to the others. That of nothing less than lies and rumors for now....which he then pushing aside said thought. Instead turn his attention to the meeting at hand and to what the wished of her highness would be in order to serve their realm well in such matter. Of a possible peace and glimmer of hope.....

Draco walked along beside Faith, keeping pace with her well while she spoke with the Republic Ambassadors. He didn't want to seem like a parrot, and so for now he kept his mouth closed. He had his doubts, serious ones about the Republic, even reformed Republic's ability to keep its dogs in check and to deter them from the evils of the Warlords they became.

The last three Supreme Commanders of the Republic Military had ordered and preformed war crimes on a heinous scale, the last Prime Minister had attempted to overthrow the government, and even when she was defeated, her hand picked military leaders remained in place. Echos of her evil and betrayal had alienated them from their strongest allies and left them weakened and alone as the tides had just begun to shift into their favor. The One Sith had fallen from prominence not long after the Prime Minister's coup, which had the timing gone differently, could have ended with the Republic winning that war.

Instead, Draco's actions when he sold his sword at auction, an auction the One Sith had soundly won and the Republic hadn't participated in, they alienated their Mandalorian Allies. There had already been tension there, the only Republic officer to aid the Mandalorians had been publicly court-marshaled, and the only time the Mandalorians actually requested aid they were told no. Following Contruum, in which Clan Vereen had been featured prominently in the battle, even securing the space station at one point, the Prime Minister denounced All Mandalorians and cut ties with her only supporters outside the Republic.

After the sacking of Chazwa which was orchestrated by Draco's Sith alter ego at the time, and the Battle of Roche which took place even after the Prime Minister's reign was ended largely by Faith's influence, the Republic had refused to arrest their war criminal supreme commander, which was inevitably the rallying cry of Mand'alor Ra Vizsla who called for their destruction in order to protect the Mando'ade.

And now they were on Alderaan with promises of being better. Draco had his doubts. The history they had established with him warranted it. His people had died to purge the corruption of the Republic, and it didn't sit well with him to see them rise again.

Commander Firestorm

ARC Trooper Out of Time, Commander of the Unbroken
Firestorm walked along with the group mostly silent as he was more of an observer than an ambassador, but would pitch in his thoughts wherever they were requested. Since he had worn his armor to the meeting, as he had nothing else to wear, he had cleaned and polished it, giving the armor a mostly new look aside from the scratches all over the armor. His helmet just floated above his hand as he gazed at it every now and then, not quite sure if anyone had noticed but didn't really care, his mind was still on the mission at hand.

Faith had to think about this for a minute or two, or longer. "Amends you say, I wonder what do you consider a way to amend. By asking Alderaan to give you opportunity to show that your Republic is not going to be subject to the same failings as the last."

Faith did not mean to sound harsh, she looked at Draco she valued his thoughts and opinions for they were the ones that made the decisions for this world to keep peace, and garner properity. So. Would a relationship with this new Republic do that? They both had so much damage from the last one.

She couldn't help but look at Sargeant [member="Kaiden Rohn"] and understand what he meant by the Old Republic had died to leave it there resting now in its grave. She looked at the Pro-Tem [member="Nicolas Thorne"] she had a feeling he believed what he was saying. She looked at the faces that came with him, they were all so hopeful, and wanted this to go well.

The good doctor [member="Rashae"] the over anxious [member="Commander Firestorm"] .

"This is what I will do. I will send [member="Andulf Nicholas Teraan"] as our Ambassador to the Republic to observe and report back to me about the Republic. I will offer a trade agreement but it will not include phrik." The last ones only wanted them for their phrik she would not give it so easily without being sure what they were really about.

"What do say to that?" This was their opportunity to prove to Alderaan they would not make the mistakes of the past. The only problem was even the old Republic started off doing the right thing it was at the end and when power continually shifted that all changed. So in truth only time would tell.
