"You can dwell on what ifs or make the most of it," Elpsis said softly after Tempest had finished, stroking her hand gently "Maybe you could have come back and helped more. Can't have been easy for her. But you sure helped a lot of people outside of Dahomey. Galaxy's richer with you."

She gave Tempest's hand a squeeze and leaned towards her. "And you are a hero. Well, you're definitely one of mine," she planted a kiss on the Dahomian's neck. Elpsis, stop being cornier than a maize field. Ah, well, this one will get to torment you on Tephrike. Whenever this one actually does that thread this one keeps blathering about.

Corny it might be, but Tempest was touched and leaned in to give her a kiss.
“Thank you, Elpsis, that means a lot to me.”

The speeder slowed and pulled into the Hotel Intergalactic, a recently established chain on Dahomey and apparently the best hotel on the planet.

Lance opened the door for them and they stepped out to see that it was luxury marble, with footmen and attendants.

“Be grateful,” Lance said with a smile. “Honour wanted you to stay in the same hotel as her, but I convinced her that you had become used to luxury off world and needed to stay here. She accepted that readily.”

[member="Tempest"]

"Not surprised," Elpsis muttered, in response to Honour accepting that argument. "It's...fancy." Everywhere you looked, one could see luxurious marble, footmen and attendants. Siobhan would have liked the place.

A footman was waiting and was about to launch into the obligatory welome before glancing at them. His critical gaze fell on Elpsis. "I'm sorry, but we already have a list of courtesans who are employed regularly by this hotel. Have you even been tested?" he asked with a tone of disdain.

He looked at Tempest. "Miss, I mean no offence, but the hotel has a far superior selection to offer you and the gentleman here. Delectable white meat, if I may say so myself." It was always nice when the hotel staff was so considere when it came to looking after their guests' needs.

Elpsis narrowed her eyes. She might be broadly light side, but she had a bit of a temper. In all fairness, she was rather poorly dressed and showed quite a bit of skin. "And they ain't even half as good as me, dude. And I'm not a hooker, I'm a guest. Now get the hell outta the way and let me in." She put some Force into her words. "Y'know, not long ago white folks came here and pulled the same classist chit on you. It's sad how eagerly you emulate them."

Tempest also had a temper, but did not have a Light alignment to moderate it. She glared at the offending man.
“She is a guest, with me, but I think that I will not bother staying here now. And I was going to organise a function here too, but now after this disgusting display I am leaving! Come on, Elpsis, Lance.”

“Wait, ma’am, I’m sorry,” the man said. He was clearly realising he’d made a mistake and was trying to cover his ass. “Look, I’m sure we can organise of recompense for this.”

“Then do it! Talk to your boss, and tell him I want the Prex’s Suite or I walk.”

He scampered off, and returned with a suited man shortly after.
“Ma’am, I am so sorry my staff member made an unauthorised refusal. That is of course not company policy. Of course, we would like to make this up to you,” he said in an oily tone. It was a lie, and one didn’t need to be a mentalist to see it.
“I told your minion I want the Prex’s Suite and our expenses covered…or I’ll take this to the Governor. You know I am Lady Kerrigan’s close advisor, and what she says, the Governor does,” she said confidently.
The manager was trapped, and finally nodded. “Very well.” He glared at the footman and stormed off.

Tempest grinned at Elpsis. “If we weren’t here for a wedding I’d suggest we try out one of these authorised ‘paramours’ and see how much worse they are than you.” Buttering up Elpsis was a good move.

Elpsis was, all things considered, a goodhearted person. A kind person. The Light had moderated her aggressive, fiery tendencies, though she was more willing to resort to violence than her biological mother Coryth or Phylis Alince. So once her outburst had passed, she just felt disappointed.

"You know they can't hold the candle to me. We can have an orgy anyway," Elpsis laughed a bit and gave her lover a kiss. "You're kinda hot when you get all...stormy." Tempest's aura was especially appealing to her then. At least when the amazon's anger was not directed against her.

"It's sad. Put people in fancy outfits, give them some power and creds and tell them they're special, they end up believing it and it goes to their head. Like a drug," she muttered as the manager stormed off. That was the dark side of sentient nature to her. However, her melancholy did not last long. "C'mon, babe. Let's check out the fancy suite. Better have a huge bed and a whirlpool."

Tempest grinned and returned the kiss. “And I like it when you get fiery, my little firemane!”

The suite was everything promised and more. It was larger than many houses, complete with two stories which had both stairs and an elevator. There were three bedrooms, two living areas and a large, shielded balcony and a hot tub the size of a small pool.

Lance entered behind them, raising an eyebrow. “You girls certainly know how to get what you want. Enjoy, but be ready for tomorrow. I’ve told honour you have jetlag and need to rest.”

With that he closed the door, leaving them alone to their own devices.

"He's nice," Elpsis remarked after Lance had departed the absurdly huge, grandiose suite. It seemed...a bit much to her, but whatever. "So...you wanna get wet and steamy in the pool?" she asked, raising a suggestive eyebrow. "I'm feelin' real horny right now." The gentle reader might wonder whether there was a time when Elpsis did not feel horny. Either way, one of her hands had already moved under Tempest's shirt, while the other rubbed her butt. "We can call a courtesan up if you want. Or two," she added before sliding her tongue into the Dahomian's mouth.

Tempest tactfully did not mention that when Elpsis wasn’t feeling horny was not computable on any scale. She benefitted from having such a sex-positive girlfriend, so she’d be a fool to!
However, she see the minor trap in the question. It wasn’t Elpsis’ way to lay pitfalls, but Tempest had a practical reason for replying as she did.
“Nah, let me have you all to myself for a while. We can call them later.” Greedy, certainly, but if they had to endure being polite to a cousin who was likely to be rude, she could do with something nice to balance it!

“But let’s go check out the water and then get some room service.”

Sadly, this is the moment when the PG-13 curtain descended. When it would rise again it would find them several hours later with a couple of additional people just departing. They must have been there for a tea party. It’d also find the pair to be in a very good mood and not thinking at all about the wedding the next day!

[member="Tempest"]

It was indeed not in Elpsis' character to lay traps of that sort. She was a very straightforward girl. She pouted slightly. "Greedy, huh? That's alright. I mean, I am amazing," she said with no false modesty. She had a high opinion of her looks and bedroom prowess.

"But that also means I expect your best performance," she waggled her eyebrows at Tempest. Elpsis happened to have near boundless sexual energy. Or at least it seemed like that sometimes. "C'mon, babe."

And so the scene faded to black. When the curtain lifted, the two were snuggled up in bed, diplomatically covered by sheets, though it was doubtful that they were wearing any clothes. "Ok. Those beauties weren't bad, I still prefer you though," Elpsis said sweetly, tracing a hand across Tempest's toned stomach. She enjoyed the feeling of strong muscles beneath her fingers. She nuzzled Tempest's neck slightly. "Still with me or did I wear you out?" she added teasingly.

Tempest leaned over and gave her a kiss. “Me? Oh please, I could keep going,” she said confidently.

However, she did regretfully pull back a little. “But…we do need sleep. It’s going to be pretty busy tomorrow, and it won’t do for either of us to be tired and cranky.”

And so, cuddled up to her absurdly hot firemane, they could get a few hours’ sleep until the sun rose once more.

[member="Tempest"]

"There's no shame in admitting that your little firemane wore you out, babe. I won't spread it around. None of your rivals at the next wrestling championship will hear of it," Elpsis spoke in a sing-song voice. She knew how seriously Tempest took her championship, being a competitive sort. Elpsis was totally rooting for her, despite probably sleeping with some of the aforementioned rivals.

She pouted. "Sleep, alright. You're a good pillow." And so the absurdly hot firemane took advantage of that, as night descended upon Abomey. Tomorrow she'd get to meet Tempest's family, including that Honour chick she'd heard so much about. Could not be any worse than that one time she'd run into Valriya. Being blind, Elpsis had not realised who she was and not been respectful. It had been one of the few instances where Auntie Sio had actually approved. She disliked the queen that much.

Tempest at first glared at Elpsis, then realised that of course the Firemane couldn’t see it. She gave her a little tap on the rump.
“Sounds like a little Firemane is challenging me to a bout…and of course, winner takes all!”
Poor Elpsis would be wise not to take up that offer…well…unless she liked the idea of being pinned by her girlfriend’s superior strength and muscles. Tempest considered that she might just be looking for that!

Regardless, the dawn came and Tempest got herself ready, leaving Elpsis in the bed to get up in her own time. She’d prepared herself a nice hot shower and her clothes, getting dressed in a full bodied yet still attractive white dress.

With that she returned to the bedroom to make sure Elpsis was getting or was ready

Elpsis grinned. "You really have to ask?" Presumably the redhead put up a half-hearted struggle, before she was pinned down by Tempest's strength and hot muscles. Subsequently, she concededed feat and consented to being conquered. And then finally dawn came before the thread could have even more lame innuendo.

Anyhow, Tempest had gotten herself and ready and put on a nice white dress. Elpsis had finally stopped lazing around and was getting ready. A ridiculously attractive black servant girl was doing her hair. This was not an easy task. Firstly, because Elpsis had trouble staying still. Secondly, because she could not see herself in the mirror.

"Do I look good? Are you done yet?" she wondered.

"Beatific, Mistress. Now please...keep your head straight and sit still, and you will be ready in a moment," the servant girl said gently.

"Tempest, she's making a real fuss and won't let me get up. Oh, what are you wearing?" Sadly, Elpsis could also not see colours. So when it came to attire, she tended to go with whichever materiel felt good in her hands. Sometimes this caused the colours to clash radically. So naturally she'd have to feel Tempest up.

"Mistress, please stay seated. I still have to apply mascara and do your toes." She might have been joking.

Elpsis made a face. "You ain't doin' any of that. Bad enough that I have to wear a dress." She'd been tempted to pack her sluttiest outfit, but then relented and picked something appropriate that Auntie Tegs had bought her way back.

Elpsis had indeed chosen a ‘dress’ which consisted of a few threads and about a dinner plate worth of actually material. However, it had been replaced with something more formal, and yet which still showed her off.

Tempest walked in, her dress and makeup ready. “You’re looking lovely, Elpsis. Thank you, Mercy. You can tell Lance we’re coming down.”
The girl smiled and left. Tempest went over to Elpsis and put a hand around her shoulders. “Ready, little Firemane?”

[member="Tempest"]

As a rule, Elpsis disliked formal wear. Getting her to attend balls was thus awkward. As Tempest could attest, her firemaned lover had no real use for balls. Lame innuendo aside, she'd chosen a nice red dress. Likewise, her flaming red mane was done up. Tidying her firemane had taken a bit, since it was as unruly as its owner.

Anyhow, Mercy stopped fussing. "Ready, babe. And I'll have you know I'm not that little. You're only like two inches taller," Elpsis pointed out with mock indignance. Naturally she had to inspect Tempest's dress. Said inspection coincided with feeling her up. "Suits you, sugar," and so they went down to the lobby. Naturally she took Tempest's hand.

“Thanks, and I see you packed something more formal than usual,” she commented. It had surprised her that Elpsis had picked something which concealed more than it hid. She suspected Tegaea or Harmony was behind that.
Tempest was trying to think of a ‘sense of touch’ joke, but unfortunately Lance arrived to prevent any further flirt/cringe.

The drive was pleasant enough. Abomey had grown nicely over the years, and was now a modern city. There were of course less fortunate areas, but the city itself was like any on a developing colony.

They left the city and drove down to a lake lined with trees. A field growing flowers in blue, red, yellow and purple colours whispered in the light breeze. It wasn’t even as hot here as it was in the city.

“I remember this place,” Tempest said softly, holding Elpsis’ hand as they pulled up. “It used to be a mustering ground for OP troops. It’s nice to see the galaxy’s moved on a bit.”

As Lance opened their door they saw there were many workers about setting up rows of chairs in the shade, a floral arch and…Honour.

The tall, shapely Dahomian woman was not in her full dress yet, and she was enthusiastically giving orders and instructions to a flurry of people.

She turned and smiled broadly. “Lance! Tempest! So good to see you!” she said and gave both a hug. Then came Elpsis and she looked at her, did a double take and put on a big smile.
“Hello!” she said, louder and clearer than necessary. “My name is Honour. You must be Elp-sis, Tempest’s…friend.”
The cringe from Tempest was noticeable. Her grip tightened slightly on Elpsis’ hand.
“She’s blind, not deaf,” Tempest muttered.

It was a parabolic descent into the depths of cringeland. Might as well sit back and enjoy the ride. "And you're very loud. Must come in handy. Can get an entire room's attention with that voice!" Elpsis blurted out. "Uh, nice to meet ya, Honour. Really happy to meet more of Tempest's family," she gave Tempest's hand a gentle squeeze, before turning slightly to plant a kiss on her cheek.

Honour clearly wasn’t sure how to react. When Elpsis kissed Tempest there was the slightest flicker on Honour’s face. It would be invisible to Elpsis, but Tempest saw it, but made no comment. Elpsis would see Tempest starting to get irritated though through her empathic skills.

“Oh, well, I just wanted to make sure you understood me,” Honour said. It was an ironic inverse from the days of Empire when jolly Englishmen would react to other languages by repeating themselves loudly and slowly until the other person either gave up or understood.

“Perhaps we should set the scene,” Lance said tactfully.
“A good idea! Come!” Honour said and strode away.
“I’m sorry,” Tempest whispered to her girlfriend. She was already mortified beyond belief.

At the floral arch Honour was giving orders.
“So, Tempest, what I want you to do is be my bridesmaid. And your friend Ellipsis can do the photography!”
Tempest’s eye twitched slightly. “Elpsis, and she can’t do that. She’s blind.”
“Well how’s she walking around without a dog or a cane then?” Honour demanded suspiciously.
“She uses the Force to see, but it’s not the same as regular sight.”
“Oh…fine then!” Honour said huffily. “I suppose I’ll need to find another person to do that if she won’t.”
Tempest’s aura was getting darker and darker. Lightning might soon be involved.
“How about I handle that,” Lance said, again the peacemaker. “Elpsis would do great with the flowers.”
“I had Purity on that!”
“Change. Her.” Tempest said through gritted teeth.
“Fine, fine, I can’t take all these sudden changes, I can’t! I must tell her, and check on the caterers!”
She began to move off….

[member="Tempest"]

"Yeah...that's real considerate of you," Elpsis said in a tone that screamed 'I ain't an invalid, y'know.' Gently, she stroked Tempest's hand. "It's ok. Think happy thoughts. Us on the beach. Naked." That was a typical Elpsis advice to offer.

Sadly, things got more irritating when they reached the floral arch. Elpsis was an easygoing person, but some things could truly vex her. Such as when people treated her like an invalid, mocked her disability or talked above her.

"I'm standing right here, you know," she exclaimed grumpily. "You want me to do something, you talk to me directly, got it?" After all, Honour had addressed all orders and comments about her to Tempest. However, through the Force, she felt Tempest's darkening. She really wanted to avoid lightning.

It probably did not help that via empathy, her own emotions were bleeding over to Tempest. Deep breaths, deep breaths. "It's alright...well, it isn't. But it ain't your fault. No offence meant, but I think you guys misnamed her," she could not resist commenting tartly. "Calm down. The only lightning you wanna use today are zaps when we're...alone," wrapping her arms around Tempest, she kissed her sweetly.

Lance chuckled, seemingly unperturbed. “Sometimes our life names are…incorrect. You can change them later in life, but some people believe it. For instance…” he began.
“If you’re going to relate the story of Chastity, stop,” Tempest said grumpily. She was calming though and sighed.
Lance shrugged. “She’s the best escort in Abomey,” he said and left it at that.
Tempest laughed, breaking the tension.

However, there was even more relief when an older man appeared. He had a fine set of clothes and a short head of white hair and a grey moustache.
Tempest took Elpsis’ hand and led her over. “Uncle!”
“Tempest, my dear, so good to see you!” he said, giving her a hug.
“Uncle Hope, this is Elpsis, my girlfriend,” Tempest said without any mincing around.
Hope nodded approvingly. “Red hair is a sign of luck and strength. A pleasure to meet you, Elpsis.” He turned to Lance and chuckled. “Lance, my boy, even you are back!”
“I wouldn’t miss my dear sister’s wedding now, would I? It is good to see you again, father.”
“How is Honour going?”
“Mad,” Lance commented.
Hope clapped his hands. “Just as I thought. Come, let’s go watch the fun. Young Elpsis, I trust my daughter has not been too…herself with you? She means well, but she can get a little…absorbed.”
