Maze Runners (Lords of the Fringe Dominion of Dasid Anya)

@[member="Morna Imura"]

Jorus smiled, all tooth, and it didn't reach his eyes.

"Yer instincts serve ya well. Yeah, I know more about that guy than I should. Matter of fact, I know how he got through, too. Just plain chalk. Every time he got to a branch, he marked it with a number an' which way he'd come into that branch. Got turned around a lot -- I was watchin' him on the holocams -- but when he found his ol' route again, well, he could get right back on it. Only took him three days t'get through. The record for a native, by the by, is held by a Lugubraa scout named Gorravpikkis, who made it through in a day and a half. Most natives that get through successfully do it in a week or so, an' apart from that one guy, no humanoid's ever made it through. There's water faucets all through it, but ye'll all need t'bring yer own food."

The idea that this maze could take upwards of a week hadn't occurred to Sargon. He had at this point in time a team of five he could bring in after he stripped out the ones with no melee weapon experience. Given that their combat experience on the inside compared to the prophets was laughable he supposed making them mobile pack mules was the best they could do.

Pulling away from the main group for a moment Sargon joined his men. “Alright, I want enough food for fifteen people for a week on your backs. Strip the helmets we can't bring them in and I don't want our tech anywhere outside of legionnaire control. I want spare canteens as well as twenty feet of rope each. Each of you bring a spare weapon and when we return to base we will be drilling on throwing knives. Consolidate your equipment and packs and be ready to enter the labyrinth in five. You're carrying supplies for the Grand Admiral, so act like it.”

He'd have bothered to lie to himself and claim they were acting escorts but he had no doubt the prophets could take care of themselves. The legionnaires would take care of the supplies at least to keep them unburdened. Checking off mentally the list of supplies he felt they'd need he left his team to shuffling around supplies. He also put that on his list of training some type of throwing weapon. It seemed that some archaic tech just never went out of use. Removing his own helmet Sargon handed it over to one of legionnaire. It felt wrong going without it but he supposed that it was a necessity he had to bow to.

Approaching the various members of the upper echelons entering the maze Sargon handed each a datapad. Within was the short list of five men he felt would be of use and the supplies he had them bringing. “I've also had them strip their helmets already. I've picked the most experienced legionnaires at melee but in all honesty I wouldn't qualify them as experts. Are there any need for supplies beyond this list?”

The instant Shinju, Lucien Cordel or Isis Fontana entered the room, the jig would be up. They'd know Merrill's face -- and what the businessman, ODF officer, and career rebel was doing here was anyone's guess. They'd captured Merrill during the Ssi-Ruuvi campaign, tortured him even. When she'd found out, she'd had him released.

Not immediately, of course, but close enough. He might be a representaive of several forces she didn't feel like angering, but he'd also thrown her into an endless hyperjump once. And now things were...roughly even between them.

Merrill was, to her, an enigma. Feth.

"Mister...Trench here...has filled you in as necessary, for which I'll thank him, but I doubt he'll be much help beyond that. One final note. Everyone who wants a guarantee that I'll be able to find you if things go wrong, I'm capable of what's called a Nightsister blood trail." She bit her thumb with alchemically sharpened teeth that Spencer both loved and hated, and blood welled up. "It's a permanent mark, on your scalp under your hair, or wherever you prefer to be marked."

Zaiden thought over Ashins proposal and nodded holding out his arm, "Will my palm suffice?" Hr had never thought of such a thing, not even having heard of such possibilities. And as such, he still had much more to learn then he believed.

Sargon had to admit he found the idea of such power distressing but merely shrugged it off mentally. There were a reason some were lords and prophets and some were simple legionnaires, this was one of them. As for being located it wasn't much different then normal as his armor could be used to track his location anyway. He was in trust a man with few secrets, and with few things left that could be taken away from him what did it matter. As the only part of his skin open was his head he simply lowered it in the semblance of a half bow. He'd take the mark.

I smiled as @[member="Sargon Vynea"] got his men to carry all the weight of the food. However, the more food we hand, the more likely we were to get attacked. And with a bunch of people, we would move slow. But we would have men, and more numbers. I smiled as Ashin offered the nightsister blood. I had heard stories from my father about people that could track through blood. Only now did I realize that It was true. Seeing as I already had a bunch of tattooes, it wouldnt matter if I got one more. However, later on, Ashin may have the chance of finding me. If I did something against the Lords of the Fringe, She could hunt me herself, and well, I didnt want to be hunted down by a Former Empress. However I offered my arm.

I pointed to my upper arm, right where the deltiod was on my right arm. It didnt have any Tat's on it yet So I thought I might as well get it covered.

She marked @[member="Zaiden James-Greyson"], @[member="Sargon Vynea"] and @[member="Morna Imura"] as requested.

"All right, gentlemen, ladies," she said, looking around the two or three dozen Fringers who had opted to give the maze a try. "Remember you're blood brothers and blood sisters. Pick up your supplies by south door, and a turbolift will take you to the entrance. Good luck."

Isis arrived at the party late and wore a pair of nylon-mesh armorweave pants with an armorweave athletic turtle neck tank top and a pair of high heeled knee high combat boots, she wore her raven hair in a ponytail and walked up to the group, she had just gotten here from the republic and rejoined while regrouping with the rest of the faction...her mind was set on the maze and she knew she would end up getting through it in one piece and without much issues, but what she didn't expect is what was to happen during the maze trip.

Sargon signaled his men forward with a quick hand gesture. There was no need for one of the higher ups to go in there first, and Sargon still didn't trust this completely. If everything was as it seemed to be the opportunity was simply amazing, but there would never be a better chance for an enemy of the state to take out some of the top officials. His team would get in first and check in at the bottom of the turbolift.

He'd kept his helmet in the crook of his arm and figured it was wroth a shot to try and get in with the helmet. Its goodies would be a serious aid inside the maze itself. Nodding to the Grand Admiral he and his heavily loaded team entered the turbolift and hit the button to go down. Sealing his helmet on as the turbolift descended, and he was sealed again into the role of Optio Sargon Vynea, loyal soldier of the Fringe.

As the turbolift opened his fire team fanned out an assortment of weapons from vibroblades and pikes. One even had a power crossbow which would be of incalculable value without blasters. He waited while they went through their cavernous surroundings. Receiving the all clear sign from his point man Sargon switched on his comms. ::Commander, seems they didn't put out a welcoming party. We are all clear down here.:: The Commander might not have needed anyone to clear the way for her but Sargon didn't care, it was his job to do it anyway.

As @[member="Isis Fontana"], entered the room, Jorus felt his face go dead still. He turned away from the pointlessly attractive Dark Knight; maybe she wouldn't recognize the man she'd captured and tortured over Zaadja.

"Watch yourself in there," he murmured to @[member="Garth Hummel"]. "Instant I go in, my name'll be all over the news and this whole thing gets very public, so I can't follow you into the maze. Here." From his backpack, he produced a mechanism that would fit over Garth's forearm, inside his sleeve. "Get used to it. Might save your life sometime. When the blade's energized, it'll stop a lightsabre, but not otherwise."

Haven walked into the party late as well and this time she wore a pair of black on pink tiger striped leather tight, form fitting pants with a black on pink leopard stiped corset tank top and high heeled knee high leather combat boots, she had her usual purple studded fingerless gloves on and wore her hair around her shoulder (exactly like the image) yet this time she had dog tags hanging around her neck and wore a pair of dark sunglasses, with her she had a couple vibro axes with a couple vibro combat knives and zenji needles in her hair... she was equipped for the job, whatever it would be.

Zaiden grabbed his gear and slung it over his shoulder. His first plan lay simple, run. Cut off as many dead ends as he could, ever turn he takes he plans a secret way of knowing where he went. Nothing high tech, nothing even noticeable enough to be caught under a force scan. Paper and a pencil. It is so simple that it combined with marking on walls and his own natural talents with tracking and navigation...he believed he could do it still.

Waiting to be let free, Zaiden consciously made his adrenaline begin to pump. The more alert he was, the better off.

"Pryde, you fething glow in the dark. And heels? You're gonna fething die in that the second the gravity switches direction. And yes, I know Fontana has lifts in her boots too, but at least she knows that survival and flashy are mutually exclusive. Take that crap off, right here, right now, and put this on." Ashin produced a nondescript set of work clothes, matte colors, not too tight or too loose, zero skin capable of showing, and tossed all the clothes to Haven. "This is how to survive in the dark, Pryde. Clothes. Change. Now."

haven took the clothes that @[member="Ashin Varanin"] gave her to put on and took hers off, she placed her originals on the ground and then put the others on and stood there feeling funny, she liked her own clothes better and these new ones felt weird but she would wear them since she supposedly glowed in the dark

Zaiden chuckled softly, he had heard the encounter between the Admiral and @[member="Haven Pryde"]. She was always doing her utmost to be as sexy as possible and that could be her eventual downfall. It was kind of adorable, if he allowed himself to admit it, which he wouldn't. Turning his gaze for just a moment, to the flashy female he winked at her as he was now accustomed to doing. Then his eyes simply returned to the floor before him, thoughts on his impending troubles.

Ashin bundled away @[member="Haven Pryde"]'s clothes. "Good luck in there, kid. And don't let Zaiden wink at you too often. That boy -- excellent Hand of the Empress in his day, but a little too sure of himself with women. But, eh, watch his back, and trust him to watch yours. See you in a few days. I'll be watching on the holocam."

I could only smile and shake my head as @[member="Haven Pryde"] was forced to change clothes. I gathered my gear and moved on to the opening that would bring us into the maze.

Zaiden grinned, caught off guard by Ashins remarks, following her with his grin until she was out of sight. It was then he spotted @[member="Morna Imura"] just a few feet away, "If you need anything just send me a telepathic shout." He said, adding a nod for emphasis. Amongst the people amassed, few could say they had a God whom watched their backs. Morna was lucky to be one. Man, what if Death and the God of Shadows both won in one day, Zaiden thought silently to himself. Having to acknowledge Mornas abilities, especially since their duel (that one of us forgot XD).

Garth nodded, sliding the device over his forearm. Flexing his fist and activating the device momentarily, he studied the weapon, , it was quick, discreet, and deadly. He loved it already. "Thanks, I'll only use it when necessary." Garth responded to @[member="Jorus Merrill"], turning and deactivating the device. Spotting @[member="Isis Fontana"], his eyes narrowed, he knew exactly who he was dealing with. He pulled his hood over his head and began moving towards the maze.

Isis watched as the others lined up to the maze and then looked over and seen @[member="Jorus Merrill"] and @[member="Garth Hummel"], it was such an interesting site seeing them both since Garth is a Jedi scum and Jorus is just another rebel without a solid cause to bind him in place.... funny how fate keeps knocking at your door when Isis and Shinju tortured the man recently, as Isis stood here she smirked and nodded at him and then revealed a specially made vibro combat knives at her hips that she planned to carve his flesh with. Isis then followed suit and lined up as well, she also held zenji needles in her hair and specially made wrist casters that are made specifically for this reason.
