  • Space Station Name: Maymgnosis
  • Station Model: Aqua Kadura
  • Classification: Aquatic Research Center
  • Location: The Scintilla
  • Affiliation: Agents of Chaos
  • Population: Sparse to Moderate. The sphere is still in the process of being filled with aquatic creatures, and the research center is at modest capacity.
  • Demographics: Most of the creatures inhabiting Maymgnosis are aquatic creatures. Numerous types of fish, whales, sea dragons, sea monsters, and more, can be found here. There is a team of a few hundred people, mostly human and near human, that maintain the sphere station and have permanent residence there. Students, researchers, and other science people visit the sphere nearly every day though most do not live in the sphere. The following is a partial list of the creatures that are there, and more will be added in the future:
  • Accessibility: The sphere itself within the Scintilla is easy to find. It is one of the larger spheres there, and the tunnels to its related dockyards are generally open. Mayimgnosis holds several tours per day to which anyone who isn't barred from the Scintilla has permission to attend, with species' children equivalent to children (or under 13 in case of human and human-like lifespanned species) permitted for free. However, without a tour guide, people may not wander about alone or dive alone. The research center doubles as an academy for aquamarine studies, and only students, professors, and staff are permitted in. Wandering walkers will not be able to get through the door, which rely on a combination of eye prints and codes to grant access.
  • Traffic: Moderate, mostly from families and groups that are coming for the tours.
  • Description: From the outside, there is nothing worthy of note about Maymgnosis. It is a sphere as any of the Scintilla, bigger than most. The inside, however, is completely different. Most of the sphere has been filled with sea-water, leaving only a pocket of air with a little island in the top of it. The "crust" of the sphere, one kilometer wide and running across the entire sphere, is where the housing, academy and the laboratories are.

The Water

Over fifty thousand cubic liters of water in size, most of this sphere is filled with sea water. Ocean vegetation can be found naturally growing in many different parts, and different rock formations can be found as well. The waters themselves are full of life, from as tiny as plankton to as large as a whale. Many of the creatures brought to Maymgnosis are among the last of their kinds, and their stay there is meant to give scientists and marine biologists a chance to strengthen them, help them breed, and then take them back to where they belong. Some of the creatures are violent and some incredibly docile, and as such the team does what is needed to keep the dangerous ones to specific regions within the sphere. A few tunnels run through parts of the water that are close to the crust. These tunnels are for tourists, who can view the beauty under the sea.

The Research Center & Academy
36yGS2.png
The Maymgnosis research center features the state of the arts tech in all that comes to taking care of the animals they conduct their research on, as well as all the equipment that such a laboratory needs. Typically, the research done here has much to do with increasing species fertility rates to save them, understanding biological mechanisms, genetics, and various experiments through which brand new water monsters are created. Several Sith Alchemists are also involved in the experiments, and not even the bottom of the ocean is the limit as far as mood and morale currently go. This area also includes the Academy, which often times works hand in hand with the Research Center. The Academy is a place for higher learning, open to those who have completed basic formal studies and have shown an aptitude for the material dealt with. As the current year involves the very first generation of students, Maymgnosis has decided to accept every applicant, hold exams at the end of the school year, and then determine who remains based on a combination of text results and lab performance. Networking is highly encouraged, and often times they also work with the Agents of Chaos' Blackguard division, who are hoarders of knowledge and do not shy away from going off on dangerous missions to retrieve artifacts and information that could help the Research Center & Academy out.

Glaw

Glaw was the name chosen for the village that was built for those who permanently reside in Maymgnosis. The village is a few streets only, with a city center around which basic necessities can be purchased. There is also a modest cantina that is only opens towards evening. The official closing hour is midnight, but with the village housing less than a thousand people, there is enough trust among those who are there, and if someone feels the need to linger extra before returning home, the door's usually just left unlocked until morning. Most of Glaw's population is made up of adults, but most of these are still in the early stages of building their families and so children are rare. For the less than a handful of those who are of school age, commutes to Eve have been arranged to ensure they continue to learn. Other than the cantina, the villagers have three different playing grounds which are empty at most times of the day, a small holotheater, and an arcade.

Medium
Maymgnosis has one entrance that is open to the public, through which visitors go through if they wish to take the Maymgnosis tour. They cannot walk alone, the hallways and entire area protected with many blast doors that require clearance for access. Students, professors, and staff, can access most of Maymgnosis pending on rank and progression. Every door has a code that needs to be entered as well as an eye scan that must be made. The blast doors double as temporary holding cells in case someone tries to get in without proper clearance, and wall mounted turrets exist as well. Maymgnosis also guards, both organic and droid, that patrol the perimeter.

Maymgnosis is one of the most recent additions to the Scintilla. Possessing a diameter of 70 kilometers, the sphere is among the larger ones that can be found within the Space Construct, and most of it is filled with sea water. The purpose of the sphere is three-fold; to provide an academy, a research center, both aimed at marine life, and additionally offer tours to locals as well as tourists.

Various creatures from all across the galaxy have been brought to this sphere, with the goal of studying them, breeding them, and experimenting on them. Some species are there so that the scientists of Maymgnosis can save them from extinction, whereas others, such as some of the water dragons, are there to be studied and then later on be turned into terrifying aquatic monsters for the war.

The Academy is in the process of becoming accepted as a galaxy-wide known institution, but as it is so new, this will likely take several years to achieve.

Maymgnosis is also one of the few large spheres of the Scintilla that did not have the direct hand of any of the Agents of Chaos' leaders in it, though it has enjoyed a few grants thanks to the experimentations.
