Mastering Ceremony of Yuroic Xeraic

The Silver Rest

It was always a glorious day when a Jedi Knight was ready to take that next step in their journey. Some looked at Masterhood as the end, but in truth... It was only the beginning of the true journey. Masters still had much to learn, but today wasn’t about what was to come... It was about what the Jedi Knight had accomplished so far, the contributions they had made, how they had helped the galaxy for the better. This was what today was all about.

And on this day, one Jedi Knight in particular had earned the honor of being recognized.

It wasn’t often that the Silver Jedi Order as a whole was called into ths hall, but within the meeting hall, the Master of the Order had called them all. Assembly, Shadows, Rangers, Circle, Jedi and Non-Jedi alike... They were all here to see the promotion of a new Jedi Master.

While Josh wished that Arisa was still around to do this, the absence of Yuroic’s former Master left a hole in the ceremonies about to be laid out today. No Arisa... And no Grandmaster either. Josh had attempted to reach out to Grandmaster Nooran, but with no luck. That meant that someone had to conduct the ceremonies. Temporarily leading the Silver Assembly as the Master of the Order, Josh had taken it upon himself to handle this responsibility in her stead. Which he didn’t mind, of course. Yuroic was a fine Jedi Knight, well deserving, and a man that Josh had worked with many times. Most importantly, he felt like he could consider him a friend...

It would be his honor to guide Yuroic’s way up to the next step.

In the meeting hall of the Silver Rest, where they had all gathered, Josh would step forward and take his place at the center, flanked by the Silver Assembly.

Clearing his throat, he began to speak out to the crowd that had gathered.

“Ladies and gentlemen, as the Master of the Order, and on behalf of the Silver Assembly, first up I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has gathered before us today. You see, we all work hard to do what we do. Whether you’re a Jedi, or a soldier with the Rangers, or in some variation of the roles... We all play our parts and we play then well. The galaxy at large has become a safer place as a result of our combined efforts... But there are individuals amongst us who’s contributions to the Silver Jedi Order, and the galaxy as a whole... They can never be spoken of enough. They, and us... Owe them a debt that may never be able to be repaid. Today, I have gathered you all to celebrate the accomplishments of one of these very people. Today, we celebrate what they have done, and look forward to what they will do in the future. Today, we honor him as he takes the mantle of Master.

Jedi Knight Yuroic Xeraic, please step forward!”

This was crazy. The Order was out of its mind! Who would promote Yuroic to the rank of Master, they would have to be desperate or completely forgot who he was. But here he was, in the assembly that not too long ago he watched Asaraa and other Padawans become Jedi Knights and a few Knights become Jedi Masters. It was strange, he was wearing his dark green Jedi robes, robes that he gained when he became a Knight. Yuroic looked around and shook his head, this was all too much, he wasn't anything special. How could he be a Master within the Silver Jedi Order? Surely they didn't believe he was strong enough to be one.

Then he remembered all the missions he had been on, the work he put in. The path he forged for himself. Looking at his robotic arm, Yuroic noted that he lost a lot on his way, lost himself as well. However, he made it, pushed past the darkness and became stronger for it. He was still learning but he was also teaching, creating more than just capable Jedi in the form of Asaraa and Seth, who was still a Padawan but a good Padawan at that. Perhaps he just needed to put aside the low self-worth he had of himself and realise that he had achieved a lot, progressed more than most in some areas. He was strong in combat, in some areas of the Force and he was considered a Senior Knight. He was already displaying leadership skills and trying to prove himself as a useful member of the Order. This was something he dreamed of becoming, something he wanted to be. He should take it. He deserved it.

Looking up and listening to Josh talk on how the title was not the end of a journey but the beginning of a new chapter, Yuroic started to realise that he still had plenty to learn but he was deserving of this. Perhaps the Order wasn't crazy or desperate, he was just too filled with self-doubt to realise what the Order had already seen in him. Someone who was strong and dependable, someone ready to become a Master. Nerves started to fill him as he heard his name, it was time to step up and receive his new title. To begin a new chapter in his life.

Yuroic stepped towards Josh.

Aida stood toward the back of the room, where the light began to touch against the shadows. She watched [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] step forward to begin the ceremony. Yes, this was quite a big day indeed. The road from Padawan Learner to Knight was generally straight – not that it wasn't fraught with danger and obstacles. It was the next length of the journey that was often the longest, it was a lot of work, taxing both mentally and physically... But truly, it was well worth it.

And though she did not yet know the soon-to-be Master, she would pay her respect just the same.

A soft smile formed on her lips when the young man, [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] was called forward. The nerves were almost palpable to her, and the feeling hearkened back to her own past. Aida remembered her own Knighting on Voss, and then advancing to the role of Master after years had granted her experience and wisdom. The memories were bittersweet, for her own Master had not been there to see. However, she knew that she was still there – within the Force, it was a presence she'd briefly felt those days. It was fleeting, but comforting nonetheless.

But Aida gently tucked these memories away, so that she could focus on the ceremony. Knight Xeraic would rise to new heights, he would have more freedom – and more responsibilities, too. The role of Master was certainly one that settled weight onto one's shoulders, but if he carried it with grace, confidence, and light – he would surely do well.

Watching silently, she clasped her hands together and waited.

Impressive, the thoughts came to her while she stood there and it seemed few pomp and circumstance had been pulled out for this. THe jedi master hadn't seen a ceremony like this, masterhood was generally given by the council or assembly with a meeting. It was private, it was more intimate, it was something that didn't need to be put on display. Yes afterwards in the mess hall having a small celebration with those in the order was something but having all groups assembled, rangers called in, padawans, younglings.... it seemed all like they were overcompensating for something.

She barely knew Yuroic, she barely knew his actions and preferred it that way. It kept one from making judgements as she would have suggested and pushed for the tradition of retaking the trials as a number of jedi did to see how they would handle the situation with new experiences they had learned in the time between becoming a jedi knight. Their experiences, their wisdom, their attitude could make the results very different offering insight over just reading a report. She trusted the jedi but views obscured and could color everything with no one above reproach.

So she stood there looking at the ceremony and kept her hands clasped in front of herself. Smoth skin with the micro solari cream giving it a paler look. Manicured nails that went to her kimono style robes. Vine silk with wintrium weave that made it stronger and a beacon within the lightside of the force itself. The silk in varying shades of ocean blue from turquoise to blue-black and when she did move the colors seemed to shift moving like an ocean. The jade sash around acting as a belt with her lightsaber on it. THe curved alabaster carapace and metal with grooves and bone.

Her shoes were arkannes wood geta, with jakobeast fur made into twine and she had a whole two inches added to her small height. Her neck was exposed mostly as it gleamed pale going to her scarlet red lips that were infused with the force enhanced make up that Rose had made for the jedi order. Her black eyes watching like little pools and eyebrows perfectly trimmed as over one side several strands of smokestone, pontite, kasha and silka beads hung. The kasha refracting over her eyes and she could enhanc her own illusionary skills.

Her hair was straight and back, streaks from kyber crystal bells with hollowed smokestones that were lightly tied into her hair. The Oil used to scent it like lavender and other flowers. She looked at Yuroic as he seemed to be nervous at first and then came forward. Her expression neutral and with practice to throw off Lorridan readers. Micro expressions were dangerous with the humanoids so she had made sure herself and her padawan Tana had an idea of how to counter them once they were identified. Still though she could watch and feel some of the others assembled.

As a member of the Assembly, Jessica rarely had the chance to actually see a ceremony being used for awarding the rank of master upon someone. Even her own masterhood process, albeit under another faction's auspices, seemed much more bureaucratic. Yet, here it was, [member="Yuroic Xeraic"], obtaining master title. [member="Junko Ike"], among others, likely only got a meeting with the Assembly when it happened. For now anyway, [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] presided over the ceremony in his capacity of Master of the Order. Wearing the same ambassadorial robes she wore on Toydaria, where Yuroic also tried his hand at the more pacifistic uses of Jedi-hood, Jessica remained mostly quiet since her role in this ceremony was mostly silent at this stage. But unlike her, Yuroic knew that, as a commander, he preferred to lead from the front. And, at range, rather than to use a slugthrower or a directd-energy rifle, he preferred to use a Force-imbued bow. Plus she was well-placed to know that masterhood was not the end of a journey, it was just a milestone. Beyond that, she didn't know Yuroic that much.

There was not a chance Jairdain would miss this.

Deciding that this was a formal occasion, she dressed for it. She wore what would have been acceptable in her culture, it was a light blue two-piece gown. The top was form fitting, but not tight or revealing. Her skirt was multi-layered and the material sheer though it would not show any of her legs if light shined through them. On her head was a scarf that she wrapped around her shoulders and over her arms but left her hands free. Along the hems, there were small jewels.

Others had already arrived, but maybe that was a good thing. This day belonged to him and she wanted to share it with him. Not wanting to take any of his glory away, she gave others room to be in front of her.

She felt no matter how near or far she stood, he would know she was there.

Draven was dressed in his finest robes. Smooth and deep black, they clung to his figure and accentuated the knight's robust shoulder's, along with his narrow hips and strong biceps, overall quite the specimen of a male. The two handles of his broad saber adorned either hip, they never left him, his eyepatch firmly in place. In fact, he had just recently bought a new one for the occasion.

He reached up, running a hand over the rough exterior of his face, stubbly from shaving. His beard was no longer long and shaggy as it had once been, but now cropped short, and gave him more of a hard-bitten, and overall harsh look. Less feral, and more militaristic Draven supposed. He had...been through it over the last few days, only recently having arrived back in silver territory after dropping off the map for the last couple of months. Other than alerting the higher-ups of his continued existence, Draven had not bothered speaking with anyone about the specifics of his time elsewhere.

Arms crossed, Draven hovered near the back of the crowded ceremony, leaning against the wall watching the man, head cocked. He had long ago given up trying to understand why Yuroic had treated Draven the way he had during the time he was an apprentice, and now just accepted that the man was...just different from him. He was well past the angst and anger which had once driven him, finally stabilizing into a mature adult. The last time he drug his carcass into the silver medical bay had been enough to ensure that. The loss of his eye had been more than that. It had been a signal to Draven, it was time to grow up, time to stop being a reckless, angsty, and unhappy teenager and be a man.

So here he was, politely smiling at those who passed, something which seemed wholistically foreign on his gaunt and sharp features, but he tried nonetheless. He was going to support the man who had been as close to a father as he had ever had. Even if he had not been a very good one.
Reflecting on his teenage years, Draven was...not the easiest child to take as an apprentice, and no one would have taken him. He owed the man everything he had. Yuroic had given him a chance when no one else had, and for that, he'd be eternally grateful and confused. For now, though, he would clap, when the time came, happy for his mentor, father, friend.

To be granted the title of Jedi Master was a most prestigious honor for any Jedi Knight, acknowledging the experience and achievements that the individual has made, contributing to the Silver Jedi Order above and beyond expectation. Today, they were present to celebrate the Masterhood of [member="Yuroic Xeraic"].

Veiere had been invited to attend, though he had not been long with the Silver Jedi, the ceremony was not something that he wished to miss. Yuroic had met Veiere once before, a great time ago during his conclave of Yutan alongside Jedi Master Arisa Yune. Together they had come representing the interests of Voss, during which the Silver's watched over the North-Eastern territories. The meeting had not been personal enough for Veiere to gain any real impressions on the younger man back then, yet today it was clear that Yuroic had grown into a fine Jedi.

Smiling to himself, Veiere had wandered in quietly and taken a more subtle position at the back of the room not wanting to draw attention to himself. As a returning Master himself, he was most happy to give respect to the distance the younger man had come. Such things weren't offered up without due cause, Yuroic had earned this right through years of service no doubt and Veiere was honored to simply be allowed to stand and watch as the ceremony progressed.

Meanwhile, at the Legion of Doom Intervention

"...and then on Taungsday, you have a meeting with the intern to the associate minister of finance for the Intergalactic Banking Clans representative to the Corellian Sector."

The young boy sat behind a desk, sorting through the various and myriad datapads that had been piling up him for the last several hours. The mottled blue light of hyperspace sent an eerily familiar set of shadows along the metallic body of the protocol droid that hovered nearby.

"So... not the representative. Not the associate minister of finance. The intern?" Sor-Jan asked, craning his head up to look at the blank face of the droid.

"That is correct, sir."

The small Anzati just blinked. "I'm going to assume the IGBC isn't taking our transaction fee dispute very seriously," the boy deadpanned finally.

"Probably, no, sir," the droid responded, summarily moving to the next item on the agenda as it continued through its tickler of action items. "If I may, your inbox, sir. There are twelve requests for interview, seventeen letters expressing favorable opinion of our products and services, and eighty-four complaints."

"That's better than yesterday, at least?" Sor-Jan ventured, with an awkward smile. No, he wasn't sure.

"An astute observation, sir. It is a twelve percent decrease in threats of legal action from the prior solar cycle," the droid remarked, with a slight nod of its head in acknowledgment before venturing on again. "In addition, you have an invitation to a master ceremony from the Order of the Silver Jedi and a request for tea with Miss [member="Tyl Ro"] not this Zhellday, but the one following, sir."

"A... wait, what?" the boy stammered. Pausing a moment, the youth looked away in thought for a moment. "Do I send a gift?"

"I beg your pardon, sir?"

"The master ceremony," the boy clarified, turning back to look up at the droid. "Is it something that I should send a gift for?" He'd been a Jedi for forty or fifty years at this point. He was probably supposed to know these things.

"If I may ask, what did you do for your master ceremony, sir?"

"There was none," the boy answered flatly. Turning, he looked over at where a lightsaber rested in a ceremonial display case. Above which was a large lithograph of a Mentor-class battlecruiser. The plaque on the lithograph identified it as the Silver Jedi Ship Dagobah. "Things were different then. The Mand'alor had just declared open war on the Silver Jedi. I returned from the Kathol Outback and was almost immediately put out on the borders between Jedi and Mandalorian space."

The boy fell silent. There was a deep breath -- not quite a sigh -- as he reclined back in the chair, staring out into hyperspace. "What would I even send?" he asked softly.

"So that's a 'yes' to the gift?"

"I should send something. A note? Congratulatory yellow sticky? Feth, listen to me. I'm possibly the worst Jedi of all time," the boy remarked, throwing his hands up.

"Yes," the droid agreed.

The boy's head snapped up. For a protocol droid, this model had an exception lack of tact. "Well, do we at least have something that I could attach to a holo-mail?"

The droid was silent for a moment, head tilted at an odd angle as it seemed to be contemplating that request. Finally, the droid lifted up a datapad and began making a series of entries. "Well, this was in the spam filter this morning," it supplied, extending the pad out for the boy to inspect.

Sor-Jan just blinked a second time as he looked at the proposed gift. "I'm going to be excommunicated from the Jedi Order," the boy complained flatly.

Unfortunately, he didn't have any better ideas.

To Master [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]

Congratulations on your ascension to the rank of Master Jedi. Your perseverance in the face of adversity and challenge has earned you the recognition of your peers. You now join the immortal legacy of all the masters who have guided Jedi through the ages; Jedi such as Tyvokka, Mace Windu, or Yoda.

While I must apologize that I am unable to present these congratulations to you in person, please accept the attached voucher as a small token of appreciation. It is valid at any McYodas in the Expansion Region and will reward you with a cheeseburger for only 1.99cr. May this serve you well.

Sincerely,

S. J. XANTHA

There were moments in history that you knew would stick in your memory, the first arrival at the temple that would become home, getting shot in the thigh, a first kiss. And then there was this, not a knighting ceremony, something perhaps far more important. Not every Jedi Knight could make the journey to masterhood, many found their place, the position they wanted to hold not as a Master but a Knight, focused on enjoying the wonders of the galaxy. A few though, they were able to achieve something more developing into the Masters who everyone looked to for guidance and support, the bedrocks of the Jedi Order.

Today was special though, today was the day when another Master joined those exalted ranks, and not just any master either. Today it was Yuroic, her...well her dad now. That was gonna take some getting used to. For both of them probably, it still didn't hide the wide smile on her face, the pride rolling off her in the force. There wasn't anyone she knew who deserved this more.

Ordinarily, Masters were not granted by ceremony... Until the ceremony conducted by Grandmaster Jyoti Nooran some time ago. Master Drystan Marakos would remember that fact quite well. Thus, Josh had decided to follow the example, and begin to experiment with the idea of adapting formal ceremonies for the rare occasion that one within the Order rose to the rank of Master. It was just as important as the rise to Knight, after all, if not moreso. It was a difficult journey, a mountain to climb... Well worth celebrating when one reached the summit.

Josh stared out at the congregation that had assembled. Including people he knew that Yuroic held dear. From former flame [member="Jairdain"] to the woman that he'd first taught [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] he knew that people had come with the hopes of seeing their friend be recognized for all that he had done for the Silver Jedi Order.

As Yuroic would step forward, Josh would bow to him gracefully before addressing him. He couldn't contain the smile that had spread across his face.

"Yuroic. You have fought against adversity physically... Mentally... Emotionally... At what to many would be considered a relatively early age. You have grown as a Jedi far more than many of us could have possibly imagined, even with the faith we had in you. Your contributions to the Silver Jedi Order are more than notable, to where I don't think I need to parrot them back to you for you to know what you've done for us."

And hopefully for what he would do further. Yuroic had made him a promise... And Josh had absolute faith that Yuroic would succeed. If anyone could help this vision of changing what their mission meant... What it meant to be a Jedi... It would be Yuroic.

"On this day, by my authority as the Master of the Order and the acting leader of the Assembly... I award you the rank of Jedi Master.

Master [member="Yuroic Xeraic"]... Ordinarily when Padawans become Knights, their Master or a member of the Assembly is to cut off their Padawan braid to signal their status as a Jedi Knight. Obviously, we need to do things a little differently in this case."

Josh would summon his lightsaber to his hand and ignite it, the blue blade letting out a hum as he would point it toward Yuroic.

"Draw your blade, Master Xeraic. And in front of everyone here, for all to see... Clash your blade with mine. As a Master. As my peer... And my equal."

It was not a challenge, no, he wouldn't involve combat in a ceremony, they would take all day. It was meant to be a symbol. Peer clashing with peer. Equal clashing with equal. Just as the slicing of the braid signalled Padawan to Knight... The clash of two Master's blades would signal the ascension from Knight to Master.

The people around were both familiar and unfamiliar, it was surprising that Josh called so many to watch the ceremony. Yuroic was expecting something smaller, he didn't feel that he contributed to the Order as much as clearly others did. He was one of many, the Order had lots of great members who contributed plenty to the Order in ways that Yuroic couldn't even imagine. Seeing all the people around, it was an honour to be welcomed as a Master within the Order. More than many here would know, he could not express the emotions he felt when he saw Asaraa and Jairdain watching him.

As Josh spoke, Yuroic could hear a voice inside his mind telling him that this was seriously exaggerating Yuroic's achievements, while also removing the flaws that Yuroic had. However, this was quickly replaced with the feeling of respect and understanding. While he was flawed, so was everyone. Yuroic had done well to pass those flaws and achieve what he had within the Order. He trained several Padawans, Asaraa being his first and most of them were working well at becoming strong, respectable members of the Order. His battle skills were well above others and he was skilled in many Forms thanks to learning to Niman.

It was odd to hear Josh call him Master, he guessed that it would be odd for awhile to hear others call him Master for a long time. Yuroic needed to accept that he was now a Master within the Silver Jedi Order. A scary thought on where to go was at the back of his mind but he knew there was an idea, something he wanted to try and being a Master, it gave him more freedom to explore it. Standing, Yuroic paused when Josh proposed that they crossed blades, while a duel would certainly be interesting between the two, Yuroic knew this was not the place. Igniting one of his Lightsabers, his blade crossed Josh's to complete the ceremony. "Thank you for this honour. I promise to serve the Order with all I can as always." Yuroic stated firmly.

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"] | [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] | [member="Jairdain"] | [member="Veiere Arenais"] | [member="Aida Aquila"] | [member="Junko Ike"] | [member="Draven Dursden"] | [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]

The fact of the matter was that Yuroic had earned this. While Yuroic might not think so... Josh and the Assembly thought so. That was why he had been called here today, why he had gone out of his way to invite whoever would like to attend to come and witness the culmination of his accomplishments... And the man that Yuroic had become. Josh would smile as Yuroic would draw his lightsaber. At his signal, the two Jedi Masters would cross blades, the two blades hissing and crackling on contact. Josh allowed that to hold for a moment before gently lowering his lightsaber, as though conceding the "duel" of sorts to Yuroic... His show of respect.

"And so it shall be...

One journey ends... And another journey begins anew."

With that, he would hold out a hand as a pair of robes that had been in a waiting attendant's arms, folded neatly, would float from their arms toward Josh, floating in front of Yuroic.

"This is a gift from the Assembly for your contributions. We bequeath to you The Silver Mantle... A true sign of your Mastery.

Furthermore..."

He took a deep breath. Here was the big one.

"On behalf of the Silver Assembly... We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us. As a member of the Assembly."

[member="Yuroic Xeraic"]

Turning his saber off and clipping it to his belt, Yuroic looked at Josh with an expression of gratitude. He didn't believe he was ready but he did believe that he could reach that point someday as long as he worked hard to achieve it. He wondered if Arisa was watching from somewhere, seeing this happen, he knew of Force Ghosts but there had been no signs that she was one. He could only hope that she knew, somehow that he reached the point of Masterhood.

Taking the cloak, Yuroic adorned it and gave the material a stroke, feeling the fabric. It was interesting that this was a formal attire for a Jedi Master of the Order, however it just reinforced the idea that he was now really a master of the Silver Jedi Order. The place he called home, it was truly mind boggling how far he can come from a small boy crawling through vents to steal spice. It had been a rollercoaster but one he never wanted to get off, this was where he belonged.

Looking up, his face was incredulous as Josh offered a position on the Assembly, this was insanity. "Are... are you sure?" Yuroic asked as he looked at Josh in disbelief, surely no one thought he was ready for that yet. Yuroic was still a mess in his eyes.

[member="Josh Dragonsflame"]

"It suits you" Josh commented when Yuroic would put on the robes. Here and now, it was a clear sign of just how far he had come.

Josh gave an unsurprised smile when Yuroic would express clear shock and doubt when it came to his offer. Of course he would. Their talk last time made it clear to Josh how Yuroic was going to react. But the fact of the matter was... Yuroic had contributed more than he had thought. And this time around, Josh was acting on behalf of the wishes of the Silver Assembly, and not his own. They wanted him on board. So it was his job to bring him on board if he wished it.

"Of course" Josh spoke softly. "If I'm offering you this now, that means the Silver Assembly has agreed that you are worthy of the role. You are free to decline if you wish, of course, or take a role as a Junior to prepare yourself properly for the role while sitting in on meetings, taking in knowledge and learning... But the offer is there if you wish it."

[member="Yuroic Xeraic"]

Looking around, Yuroic inhaled deeply. He was given a huge opportunity, something that he didn't think he was ready to take on but it was clear by the others here that he was ready to be the Jedi that they saw in him. Swallowing hard, Yuroic looked over to Josh, nodding his head. "I will accept the offer and becoming a member of the Silver Assembly." While being a junior was tempting, he was willing to jump in head first and learn as he did. It was a learning technique that he found was something that worked for him.

"I am honoured by this offer." Yuroic stated as he gave a short bow to show his gratitude. Rolling his shoulders, Yuroic was unsure what was next in this ceremony.

[member="Josh Dragonsflame"]

Josh smiled then, slowly nodding his head. If Yuroic felt he was ready to be a member of the Assembly straight away, then all the better. The Assembly had made their decision... Now the final one was up to Yuroic. A decision he had just made. "Then I dub you a member of the Silver Assembly, as of this moment. You have my congratulations, Master Yuroic..." Josh would trail off, with a respectful nod.

"Master Xeraic, report to the Assembly tomorrow for briefing. As for now... You are all dismissed."
