History
A second cousin here, a nephew there, and of course a son and daughter clinging to the boots of the Aristocra, destined to be the next in line to rule the family. But Maiven didn't believe in "fate". There was no room for such nonsense in the constant dynastic political intrigue of the Chiss Ascendancy. Maiven was born distantly related to the head of House Nuruodo. Born and raised on the ancestral Nuruodo homeworld of Naporar, Maiven lived the life of nobility afforded to the extended family of the oligarchy, and like many cousins and distant relatives she would find her calling in the military in an attempt to prove herself.
Maiven led an astounding military career from the age of 16, since her family ran the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force. She proved herself early on in leadership capabilities as well as covert operations. By 23 she could lead a squad of marines or infiltrate enemy bases with 3 languages, numerous weapon proficiencies, and vicious determination.
Even though she was far-flung in the inheritance order from her family's titles and wealth, everything she did was for House Nuruodo. When she was offered a position as an officer in the CEDF, her life was torn apart. Her military career would only logically end in such a position, yet being an officer meant she would have to forsake her family name and be adopted into the hierarchy of the military. Abandoning her house would betray everything she stood for, and bringing glory to the Nuruodo family would mean nothing.
Out of respect for her family, Maiven refused the offer and returned to her regular duties with a heavy heart. The decision was ultimately detrimental to her, as when the revolution against the old aristocracy came, her family sided with the old guard and she was force to turn her back on them forever. She rallied the loyalists in her house and led them against her father.
While the old aristocracy was defeated and a new age of the Chiss began, she was now without a house, which cut her deeply and has left her distrustful of the system of Chiss government. Even still, she is a staunch believer in the strength of the Chiss people.

Strengths:
- Tolerant: Most Chiss are extremely xenophobic. Maiven is an exception to the stereotype. Although still a staunch Chiss nationalist, she has a deep respect for many other races (most notably warrior races like Mandalorians) and a great interest in foreign languages. This has led her to be an excellent operative outside of Chiss space.
- Weapons Protege: Training from a young age in weapons and an being exceptionally fast learner as well has led Maiven on the path to becoming a weapons expert, although she is still young and learning.
- Bold: Maiven is often unfearing, some even say unfeeling, in the face of adversity. Charging into situations unprepared with no warning, caution, or remorse is commonly reported of her in the field.
Weaknesses:
- Narcissism: Undying loyalty to her house and constant commendation throughout her life has left Maiven a major narcissist. Defying Maiven's command in any form has been widely noted as a bad idea, because in her mind she is always the most skilled in the room and, of course, always right.
- Disinhibition: On the opposite side of her boldness, Maiven's frequent lack of impulse control has gotten her into many sticky situations both socially and militarily.
