One thing that they would be able to notice in the darkened hangar, although most likely after a closer analysis, was that there were foot-prints in the dust that covered the floor, fresh from the looks of it.
And they had claws.
The trail of prints led towards one of the nearby corridors, but it wouldn't be long before they lost track of them, the trail would curve left towards one of the walls and disappear there. Claw marks and lines of punctures in the wall suggest that whatever left the prints also had the ability to climb the walls and ceilings.
It was HK who left the trail, of course, during his arrival on the ship, using his metal claws and talons to move about the ship, they were retractable, however, as to not give out that it was him who left the prints for when he finally comes in contact with the party of adventurers.
Meanwhile, deep in the ship,

HK silently moved out of a ventilation shaft, he would cling to the ceiling as he watched RC move about the area, searching for something.
Moving above him, HK clung to the metal ceiling with one of his foot, letting go with his hands he would dangle down and reach out to touch RC's shoulder softly.
"Do not be alarmed, it is me again."
He spoke calmly,
"The Republic has arrived on the ship, they are in the hangar. I can point you in the correct direction but I cannot guide you the whole way. You will be safe with them, they will give you something to do. Do not stop or turn around for whatever you will hear, it is all an illusion, nothing will harm you."
HK explained, seeing if RC found whatever he was looking for and was ready to go
