[Main - QEF] The Journey Begins

Off On His Own,
Only the Force knows where.
Krest at this point was just sitting on his ship, aimlessly floating through space. His ship wasn't broken, tampered with, hijacked. The Zabrak simply wanted to float along in the sky. He knew little to nothing on what was going on around his space, only that it didn't involve him. Well, yet that is. If he had any idea about the Republic cruisers coming to investigate the ridge, he would of been gone long ago. Jedi didn't take to well to him after all.

Bite the Bullet: Training Room.

Nellja has slipped out of the room as soon as the meeting was over. What had she done since? ... Letting off steam.

She had traveled to the training room for about fifteen minutes and did nothing but whacking the dummies away. After letting off her steam turning the heavy metal radio up high and wearing her sunglasses, Nellja immediately high-tailed to where the next meeting was to take place. She already had been keeping everything of her's packed outside her weapons so she was good to go.

Wherever that next meeting was to take place. I, the author, never saw a location in Hasjo's post. Sorry, bud... :

She had just entered the required area. She let out a huge breath, she would try to be calm and in control...

... Aw man, the lack of caffeine was getting to her...

She leaned against a wall. Her eyes began to droop. She forced herself to stay awake though as her brain screamed out for coffee. She growled and pushed herself off suddenly. There were other ways to get caffeine in her system that wasn't coffee. She decided to get to the mess hall and the nearest soda machine there right after this meeting. She pulled her shades off and hung them in the pocket of her black, leather jacket. Hopefully, this time things would go better.

Bite the Bullet
Simulation Room

He stood before his Platoon. His helmet on, visor over his black glass plates. Crimson markings over his armour. He was beyond disturbed with the announcement that had carried through the ship. Their Captain had abandoned ship and was no where to be seen. No scanner was picking him up and he had just vanished after the briefing. This was not like him. Something had spooked him, he was called by the Jedi Order, or he was kidnapped. He didn't believe in the latter. The room was an immense, blank, grey room. The size of a football field, and three stories tall. The Chiss on board this ship had designed this room. He wasn't going to tell any of his men what would next happen - war didn't tell you what happened. Things happened and you had to react instantly. You didn't always have time to plan. Les gave [member="Nellja"] a quick look and would have scoffed. He thought she was mean't to be a Jedi but clearly didn't adhere to the Jedi Dress Code. And with the others on his team, he had a lot of work to do.

He raised his index finger into the air, moving it in a circle. Suddenly the lights switched off. Racks extended out from the walls with replica blasters that only stunned. An electrical charge enough to take down most humans with a single shot, and only the hardiest remained standing. Even those that remained standing couldn't take a second shot. Les moved forward quickly, taking one of the blasters into his hand. "Move it people!" he roared, throwing his finger across the room. On the opposite side, B1 and B2 droids were rolling out, their blasters likewise set to stun. The room began to rumble, buildings and objects began to raise up from out of the floor. Suddenly they were standing in a black, grey and white suburbia.

Simulation room
Dak glanced around the various Troopers in the ready room outside of the simulator. There were few veterans in the platoon, never mind men who have worked with the Jedi before. As the simulator came to life, projecting Plasteel structures to make up the battleground, Dak peered around the layout.

A simulated four city block radius, buildings in the style of Tatooine's Mos Eisley. A long center street, with a round park in the center. Most of the buildings weren't much higher than a single story, save for a large complex just off of the main street.

Various smaller roads and alleys made up the remainder of the space, creating a veritable maze of Urban warfare.
"How do you wanna go about this Les?" Dak asked, Turning to his senior officer. "Most of these troopers haven't worked with Jedi before. My suggestion; let the troops see how the Jedi handle combat, then try organizing them into units for training."

Derelict CIS Cruiser Advance

The Knight of Eclipse, HK's stealth ship came in a slow, invisible approach towards the derelict cruiser. One of the hatches to the ship opened, and from it came floating a curled-up figure of a droid, ejecting himself from an airlock, he whirled towards the hull of the Cruiser, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. His limbs would outstretch and straighten at the right moment, activating the magnets in his feet to get himself securely attached to the ship's hull.

HK would then scamper along the metal plates of the ship on all-fours, skittering along the surface along the walls and into the hangar of the derelict.
I am in position,
He sent a silent signal to his squad-mates,
As are we,
The Knight of Eclipse responded.

The droid would move along the interior of the ship, almost slithering on the wall as his slender form would reach one of the ventilation shaft, grabbing the crate covering it with his talons he would rip it off and throw it aside, entering the ventilation systems. It would not be long from then until he reached the distress signal aboard the ship, by entering the bridge. He would kick off the cover of the ventilation shaft, slithering inside the bridge and raising his slender form up, talons on his fingers retracting back and hiding, although the large claws on his feet stayed extended to keep him attached to the floor.

Coming over to the navigational consoles, HK checked what he could do to strengthen the distress signal, and try to direct it towards the Republic territory, specifically the new path of their patrol ship. Mandos would still be able to pick up the transmission, of course, but the droid wanted to make sure the Republic will arrive there. It would be difficult to monitor them if they would not be there, after all.

Once that was out of the way the droid wondered over to the energy-managing console, trying to see if he would be able to turn on emergency power, something which would light up the derelict ship, at least on the inside, and make sure the life support systems or artificial gravity won't give out on them accidently. And of course, unknowingly to the droid, it would also cause for RC to start getting revived from his carbonite sleep. Or at least it would allow others to wake him up from it once they would find him.

After all of that, HK would stay in his thin, slender combat body setting, getting on all fours he would slither back into the ventilation shaft systems to disappear inside the maze of ship's corridors, he still had a bit of work to do.

Carbon Freezing Chamber

[member="HK-36"]

As predicted, activating the emergency systems had some unprecedented consequences. Though the machinery was in motion already due to the distress call the new found power gave it a boost, managing to make the process more efficient, safer, and faster. A slab of carbonite appeared was summoned from storage and brought to the chamber. On the front bore the image of a now ancient soldier, a scene frozen in time. Ancient runtimes took hold now as the core began to heat up. Soon the outer shell began melting away, revealing a uniform the galaxy hasn't seen in thousands of years. When the process was complete, there stood a symbol of the Old Republic, a being genetically made to be the perfect soldier. A Republic Commando.

------------------

The first signs of life was a cough. It was followed by a series of them as fresh air tried to reach lungs that hasn't had them for thousands of years. He bowed over and in doing so he fell to the floor, armor clacking upon contact. His muscles were stiff out of ages of disuse. He couldn't see anything. What was blocking his sight. He reached up to and felt something blocking his face. Oh yeah. Helmet, he thought. It was a little difficult but when he did he took in a large breath of fresh (though a little stale) air. It helped ease his cough, doing so only because of the dust. However he still couldn't see. What's wrong with me? he thought in panic.

Diagnosis: Hibernation Sickness
Treatment: Time, Symptoms can disappear anywhere from an hour to a day.

How did he know that? He didn't know. However it sounded right. He can't be much use right now. It's not like he was in a rush or someone would probably be yelling at him by now. He decided to continue to lie there, waiting for the sickness to go away or some sort of help to come along.

PLACE OF ATTACK.

As soon as the attack was on, Nellja raced into action. Even without caffeine, the battle was able to find the energy left in her.

She drew out her twin, purple lightsabers and entered a Shien stance. It was only seconds after that when she was cutting down multiple droids with ease.

"What in the name of the Sith!" he exclaimed in shock as the Jedi didn't wait for orders but charged the droids, and began slicing through their metal hides like a knife through warm butter. He raised his rifle that like all other rifles in the room - was set to stun. He opened fire on Nellja's turned back before she could do anymore damage. She'd just destroyed thousands of dollars worth of tech. He rushed down the simulated city-street. "Cancel simulation, now!" he barked into his communication channel. He slowed down to a light jog and into a walk. The B1 and B2 battle droids remained motionless. The buildings around them began to collapse back into the floor. Leaving them in the empty football sized room once more. Les spoke to Nellja "I did not give you the command to attack. They've got stun rounds, we've got stun rounds. Those droids are our tech. We use them in battle, they'll be standing by our side. That was until you decided to chop a quarter of them down. You can explain yourself to the Captain why his droids were destroyed in a simulation and why he'll be paying for new ones." He raised his wrist and spoke into the communication link - his voice as robotic as always, it didn't sound like an organic at all "Cancel the simulations. We need the engineering platoon down here Aye-Sap." He turned on Nellja and raised an accusing index finger "Go to the Officers Mess, down your lunch and coffee. I'll be having a chat with you later. Until then" he turned to all those present "You're all dismissed!"

"Get up."
He would hear the emotionless drawl coming from behind him as he felt strong pair of hands come to his armored shoulders to pull him. They would pull him towards one of the seats on the side of the room, helping him sit up rather than just lay on the floor.
"The Republic will be here soon. I do not know what your are doing on this ship, but they will help you."
The Clone would feel something drop to his lap then, if he would feel it he could tell it was something about the size of a brick, shaped like one too, but not as heavy, sturdy although soft at the same time, covered in some sort of rougher paper wrap, it had a smell similar to baked bread, mixed with bacta. It was an MRE, meal ready to eat, enriched indeed with bacta to help any healing or recovery.
After all that sleep the clone must have been hungry after all!

RC could not see it yet, but there was a stamp on the paper wrapping the MRE, one that read "Made on Abregado-Rae"

"Stay safe."
The droid muttered to RC, to blinded RC he was most likely just a slender grey blob. Either way, he stepped back and jumped at the nearby wall, skittering along it and he disappeared in the ventilation shaft once more.

"Get up."
It was a cold, monotone, mechanical voice. Suddenly he was thrust off the ground and into a chair. Panic spread through him. Who was this being? Or was it a what? What's going on?

"The Republic will be here soon. I do not know what your are doing on this ship, but they will help you."
While his voice was by no means comforting, the news he brought was. He was getting help. But something he said stirred up his thoughts.
The Republic...
There he was, floating in space, not even born yet but there before him stood a tall, slender alien. It spoke of his purpose, the reason he was made, the reason of his existence. He was to be a soldier of the Republic, do protect its people from all foes foreign or domestic. He was a clone, bred from the best and made to be the best soldiers in existence.

The flashback was so intense that he didn't even notice the MRE fall into his lap or the mysterious stranger leave. He just sat there in his own darkness, reliving his forgotten past, trying to remember who he was but for some reason, he couldn't. Why? Why can't he remember?

Well at least he knew four things. One, he is a clone. Two, he has hibernation sickness, for now at least. Three, he is a soldier of the Republic. Four, the Republic is coming to help him. It was then that he finally noticed the smell of food in his lap. He didn't need eyes to eat. He ravenously gorged himself. He hasn't had a meal in awhile after all.

Mess Hall
Leea could never quite get over the food that was served on these vessels. Sure it was good nutritionally but its flavor was not to her liking. She had been eating but now decided that the food was not going to help. She had woken from a pretty bad nightmare and was still trying to forget it. She hoped that she could get some work done, she volunteered for a reason. She walked away from the table, almost forgetting the food and drink she had not finished. Turning she took the food and disposed of it along with the drink. She placed the plate and cup into a cleaning area then left the mess. She started down one of the many confusing corridors inside the ship. For a little she tried marching, but soon returned to her usual slightly quick walk.

Bridge
Les walked onto the deck of the bridge. He saluted the acting Commander-In-Chief, Viktor. As he dropped the salute, his bionic voice broke the quietness of the room. "Sir, Jedi Padawan Nellja is AWOL. During simulations she disregarded command and destroyed our Captain's droids. We'll need to send out a transmission for replacement of B1 and B2's. How proceed, sir?"

"How proceed, sir?" Les asked.

Viktor sighed and his eyes twitched. A Jedi that went out of control. Well, that happens all the time right? He shook his head and looked at his datapad. "Well, the math says at least 450,000 Credits or more. Les, just radio in once we are out of hyperspace and standing idol. I would like to-"

"Sir!" Lily called. "I'm detecting a strange distress signal coming from a CIS Cruiser... dates back to the Clone Wars. This thing is pretty damn old. What do we do?"

Viktor motioned for Les to come over to Lily's station. "We may or may not see some action after all, Lieutenant. Lily, trace the beacon."

"Yes sir." A short pause of silence ensued. "Got it! It is from... Bal'demnic."

"Wow, okay. Get Sergeant Va'shaden up here, now, Lieutenant. He can help us. As for you two, Hayley and Haylee, set course for Bal'demnic." Viktor said.

"Yes sir!" The twins said in unison as the locked the course.

En Route to the Bridge.
"I'm on my way, ETA 2 minutes." Dak said, turning on his heel and heading for the bridge.

Why would they call me up? He wondered. I'm far from Officer's status.

He doubled his pace, and arrived on the bridge, Saluting His C.O.'s.

"Sgt. Va'shaden reporting as requested, Sirs."

Bridge
Les nodded in understanding. A ship dating back to the Clone Wars, this couldn't possibly be related to the modern CIS, not this far from their system. He moved from the bridge and motioned Dak to follow. Entering the closest elevator, he thumbed the First Floor. The elevator began to plummet. They were heading to one of the hangar bays. He reported to Dak "CIS ship supposedly eight-hundred years old has been found. We'll be assembling personnel for a boarding party. It's in the Bal'demnic system, right next to our main objective." Les began to rapidly press onto his wrist, entering a sequence for an open channel to the barracks on the ship "This is First Lieutenant of Foxtrot Platoon. Ordering all of Foxtrot to report immediately to Hanger Bay C on Floor One."

"Good luck, soldiers." Viktor said, and turned back to face the glass at the front of the bridge. He looked at Hayley.

"Bring us out of hyperspace." Viktor commanded. The Navigational Officers nodded, and pulled a throttle down. The ship dropped out of hyperspace and slowly drifted into the Bal'demnic system. It looked so... extinct. He couldn't think of any other way to put it. It had that Outer Rim vibe the most of the inner planets usually never had. Viktor never really knew anything about the planets, so he hoped Les did.

"This is going to be interesting." Lily said.

"Right you are." He responded.

"About time. I needed something to do." Leea thought to herself as she made her way quickly to the Hangar. Once there she stood at the ready for when the rest of the platoon would arrive. She flashed out her knife for a moment, making sure it was clean and that it had not rusted. Seeing as it was not she placed it back on her belt, then gingerly pulled out her blaster pistol. She hated the little bugger and was sure it was trying to kill her. She gently dropped the blaster on her other outstreched hand. She looked it over before picking it up and placing it back into her holster. She had never really gotten the hang of firing blasters of any kind, but she had been given one; so she would use it.

En route to Hangar bay C
Dak scratched his head as he arrived on the bridge, and was promptly told to report to the hangar. He followed Les closely.

"Something about this op starting to feel... off to you? Or am I just being paranoid?" He asked as they headed down. "I mean, I know I was just saying that this was going to be boring, but now... I dunno."

He glanced over to Les.

"What do you think?""
