Magic Wires (Alva)

[member="Alva Calvarona"]

Ikki was looking at her master and nodded her head in understanding while she moved to stand next to her and looked to one of the smaller trees on the beach. "Yes but that does not mean you can't do more. The ability to buffer your wires is simple enough you just need to have a little focus and practice master." Ikki was looking at her and moved her hand as she lashed out with the wire wrapping it around the tree but instead of biting into it held her attention and her focus to keep the wires from slicing itno the bark. "YOu can do the same, and practice with it. Some more focus an you could use it to get food or pull others into you."

Such practice was the whole point they were out here to begin with, so the crinan woman had no qualms with her servant's points about not needing to be an intense master of telekinesis. If anything it made Alva rather glad that she would just need to refine her efforts and focus. It sounded much more doable for her than to increase her power in that skill so that she have more strength behind it. Watching her maid demonstrate the ability on the branch of a tree nearby left Alva eager to follow suit. "Of course, although this in itself doesn't seem too difficult. Doing so on a moving target where you have to compensate force consistently is where it gets hard I'm assuming right? Still, this is what is important for learning to maneuver through terrain for right now. Shall I take my turn?"

Ikki bowed her head to her master with a smirk on her face while watching some of the wires.... She was thinking about the work she had done protecting her abilities and her master was correct about movement from a living target. you had to be more focused but she was trained by massive creatures who broke imperial encryption because they were bored. They had taught her a good amount including for her navigational abilities. It got a smile from Ikki. "Usually when I have these around a person they don't want to move, usually some are very strange on their attitudes and will struggle or just slice their own limbs off to regrow it later."

That was certainly very true Alva supposed as she listened to her maid while focusing in preparation for her own attempt to wrap the slicewire around the tree without cutting it. The Sith Knight she had fought in the first round of the tournament of the gods had surrendered right away once he noticed the slicewire wrapping around himself, though it hadn't saved him from his shares of cuts before she disengaged. The Sith in the second round had no idea what sort of weapon she was wielding though and hadn't properly defended at all. . . . unless he could have and had regrown his arm since then. Not that taking the hit had helped him to win. "Or they just don't know any better. Besides us can you name anyone who actively uses Slicewire as a primary weapon?" Flicking her hand, the crinan woman let the magic in the air around her she had been gathering flow through her as she stretched her senses around the wire string lashing out, guiding them as she twisted her hand and flexed her fingers to turn the slicewire around the branch of the tree and breathed softly as she tried to make the wires hang loosely around the tree and not tighten and cut through the wood.

Ikko was in agreement with her while she was thinking about it, there was a look while her wires came back and then she lashed out going towards a piece of fruit for a moment. "No but I fought a jedi who had it around his neck and walked through it to keep attacking me." She was thinking about the tournament and sighed, despite the other padawan not getting in close to her or able to actually hit her while she had his neck, arms and legs wrapped in wire she had been declared the one defeated. It was a strange sensation cause she had seen another fight where the one who surrendered and tapped out had been given a draw.... Now she was looking towards the fruit pulling it down to her hand as it severed into pieces she could eat.

Alva watched the display of her servant whipping out her slicewire to claim a piece of fruit hanging from the tree without cutting it until it was at last brought to the girl's hand and she allowed the razer strings to leave it in pieces with awe. However, the story her maid told her while carrying out such an incredible feat, was less amazing and more stupefying. "How is that even possible? Unless you weren't trying to kill him I can't imagine how the Jedi would survive such an act normally." It sounded incredibly inane and improbable, but the crinan woman didn't doubt that Ikki was telling her the truth in some form. The Jedi had to be lucky that her dear maid hadn't been trying to kill them or else they would desperately be a head short of being amongst the living.

"I was trying to compete and have fun while in a practice fight. No killing but he was trying to kill me, it was a rather idiotic experience master. I learned very little and the rest of it barely happened as people seemed to stop showing up in round two." Ikki was looking at her master and trying to think about more of it, based on some of the things she had seen her attention was one many of the different things but she was looking at the look on her masters face. "It is something to be weary of in the future." Her wires went back to the tree though while she was holding it steady and eating a piece of the fruit.

How pathetic, but then she supposed there wasn't much that could be done about it now. It made her a bit glad though considering in the end whatever had happened in Ikki's past had driven the maid to eventually to her current employment. Which left Alva very happy since the other woman was her servant now because of it all, and as a result it had given her an amazing maid and someone to study slicewire techniques from. Still, it was bothersome and indeed something to keep in mind for the future. Personally Alva didn't intend to encourage the Empire to hold a tournament until it was completely ready and had the interest to do so. "Of course, though I don't see the Empire being ready to imitate a tournament until its ready to do so to avoid such. . . . embarrassing situations."

Ikki bowed her head to her master while she listened but was brushing it off, thoughts of it more making her upset then it should as she thought of some more work. "I think that will be a good thing." Ikki bowed her head again though and moved to stand behind her master as she lifted one hand up with the wires. She spoke looking from under the woman's arm while guiding it. "We will work on your form though, I want you to get some of the fruit down and not slice it now." She was looking up towards the hanging fruit while thinking some of the different parts over while tapping her fingers on her masters arm.

Alva hadn't meant to cause her servant to dwell on such bad memories, but she noticed the smaller woman's tone as her maid bowed politely and and seemed to make a final comment on the matter to put it to rest. Frowning somewhat, the crinan woman wasn't exactly sure how to alleviate the issue, but supposed that since Ikki was ready to move on with the training then so should she. As her maid stepped behind her, Alva listened intently to the task that was being given to her as the next step in training. Although it only deepened her frown when she considered how tiny a target the fruit itself was, especially over the distance they were at, and how she had strained to have the minute attention to keep the string from cutting through the thicker, more durable, branch. Nonetheless, as her servant began to touch her arm and guide it in the needed motions. "Maybe if I. . . ."

Turning her frown into a thin line instead, Alva uttered a short and soft chant before flicking her slicewire forward. She plainly acknowledged that she couldn't use telekinesis as well as others, but she could manipulate the air so perhaps she could use that to buffer the strings from cutting through instead.

Ikki was watching and keeping her mind focused as they went on with the lesson. She could feel and see her master using the force and her skills with the crinian magics... same thing but it was still better then what the little maid could pull off while she was moving about and watching her. The distance and length of their slicewires might differ a little though as Ikki was listening to the places around them. There was more silence before she was stopping in her place behind Alva as she watched her but her senses and ears were straining to hear anythign over the crashing of waves on the shore. "It got very quiet I can't even hear birds."

In all truth that was a little disconcerting to hear when one was trying to concentrate, or perhaps it was just Alva who felt that way. The Crinan woman didn't necessarily like premonitions like that, though she knew that some of her other classmates from her days at the Cosmina Academy would say such silence was a good thing. However, in Alva's mind such thoughts were far too self centered as if the world would silence itself for any feat especially just the training of a novice. If ever such a moment would occur it would happen in the final moments between two equal opponents whose combat would go into legend. Anything less was frivolous malarkey. As such, she tried to shut out the now evident silence her maid had to bring up and focused as she released her slicewire toward the tree again, this time casting the wind spell to guide and carry the strings with the breeze around one of the fruit, though the next part, trying to settle the wind between the fruit and the wire, was the difficult part.

Ikki was watching it now as she watched her move going up to the fruit when she heard something that was happening. The sounds were coming closer as she looked up to see something jumping. This world was great for practice with the higher gravity but as she was watching her master she saw something strike the tree and it was cracking under their strike before landing on the ground. SHe couldn't make out the launguage they were speaking but as one came through her slicewaire she saw its leg become dismembered in a quick moment while she moved backwards getting into place quickly.

For a moment Alva was more furious with the fact that the distraction of the tree shuddering under something's impact made her slicewire cut through the fruit rather than she was that she and her servant were under attack. Seeing their assailant's leg come clean off when the barbaric fool rushed through the slicewire in use though, made the crinan woman's eyes widen as she whipped the strings of wire back from the tree and moved to follow her maid as Ikki fell back defensively. "Who the hell is this? I thought you picked somewhere uninhabited." Scowling she would begin chanting, rather upset she had left other tools in the ship like her blaster. Still, she had her magicks and the combat techniques she was taught to defend herself with. This would actually be a good chance she supposed to practice more fire spells, or pyrokinesis as the galaxy's force order's called it.

Ikki had found a world on the edge of the galaxy that looked pretty for all she knew it was.... or at least from the records. Incomplete as they were showed nothing special here since the Rakata were close by. They were cannibals and slaver so ignoring the planet usually meant they had stripped it right? She thought it to herself while watching her master move about and more slicewire extended from her gloves while she moved grabbing one of the weapons while she sliced in and seeing more of the figures as they were wrapping tails around their waists before coming at them. Their signatures in the force strange until Ikki was watching more appear one with a larger more ornate necklace. Then two attacked in retaliation for the one losing her leg as Ikki wrapped more of the wire to dismember a warrior.

The Rakata hadn't been a real threat since their infinite empire collapsed and the force was taken away from them. Alva wasn't even certain if their species was capable of Hyperspace Travel anymore. Of course their leftovers were clearly evident from things like how Tatooine was never more than a barren desert, though of course many people remained ignorant of that fact when they ignored their history lessons of what was discovered during the Jedi Civil War. . . . .although by all rights Alva knew she wouldn't normally have known if she hadn't been so desperate to take in new information to be more useful to the Empire, and by extension Crina.

Putting that all aside though, Alva stared at their assailants with some. . . .confusion. They appeared to be human, but had tails. The oddity aside their expressions were clearly angry as they attacked, likely to avenge their wounded friend. Ikki already seemed to be taking care of the one with her slicewire, and to be truthful the crinan woman tried not to watch since the results would likely be. . . .visceral. Instead Alva focused on her chant as she directed her efforts at their other opponent, reaching out with her magics to the air around the alien woman and sparking friction between the molecules, making them unstable until at last there was combustion, and the woman was wreathed in flames, her screams of fear, surprise, and pain short lived as she fell to the ground and fire consumed her.

Ikki was watching her masters work while she was moving to fight with the others. She watched the ones coming at her master as they didn't seem to really fight with much coordination beyond dog piling and pack tactics.. A smarter idea then one at a time to allow them to try and force and tire the others out while Ikki moved crouching down lower until she was jumping up with one wire pulling her up the tree. The the she was looking at challenged Alva the biggest threat on the beach and her gleaming hand axe made of metal and stone.

No there didn't seem to be much tactics going on at all. It left Alva wondering what the point of the attack was when it was so barbaric and primitive that it was hardly going to succeed against her and her servant. The group attacking them didn't even have bows! They were fighting with their bare hands or simple clubs at most! Although since they weren't much of a threat it didn't mean the crinan woman was going to let up on them, flicking her slicewire towards one of the foolish barbarians who got too close to her, watching as the not quite human female's head was separated from her shoulders, and the one trying to flank behind Alva was flattened as a solid wall of air crashed down on their head. It felt almost unfair considering how many tools she and Ikki had at their disposal compared to these. . . . unfortunate sods who seemed to think they could overwhelm them. Maybe their leader was the one with an actual weapon, a bizarre axe that certainly wouldn't save her if she got close.

The only real question was how to dispose of her and possible end this farce?

Ikki was moving quickly and then she felt something, one of them tripped her as her foot made her leg go snap. She felt it broken in place and the strength in their limbs while she rolled over. The maid was letting herself grip her leg as she looked up catching one of them and she shoute. The oswaft's energy blast erupting from her throat as a purple ball of light smacking the woman back. She looked up at her master as the big leader was attacking and swung the axe into a tree as her arms showed tight muscles that were tense before it went through the trunk with one swip making it fall over and show they were stronger and most of the other ones backed away with their tails flicking around before wrapping around their waists and Ikki was still fighting the one above her.

Of course what was obviously the first thing to do before deciding on a way to actually kill the tougher looking of their primitive attackers was avoid being killed in turn when the enemy in question struck the tree her servant had retreated to just a moment before and caused it to collapse in her direction. Throwing herself to the side and being careful with her slicewire, Alva rolled across the ground until she barely avoided the falling trunk of the tree. So the inhabitants of this planet were far stronger than the average humanoid then? It didn't really matter much since they hardly seemed that much more resilient or durable. In fact if anything the natives were weaker than a normal human by allowing themselves to be so caught up in their own physical strength they fell so far behind the rest of the galaxy. Even if she had no slicewire, Alva bet she could get by with just the usual energy sword or even wind techniques.

Still, no reason to strain herself, especially when her maid was in trouble, the sight of Ikki on the ground fending off an attacker leaving the crinan woman in a rage. "Who gave any of you permission to touch my maid!" Being flashy was for the foolish, and Alva was the peak of an overly serious and efficient individual as she swung her arm across the side with a word echoing on the wind as she sent a gust to slam and buffet the tailed fools hovering near maid, while her other hand swung her slicewire at the leader of the band, not even caring which way she cut the armed opponent so long as it left her in pieces.
