      • Particle Beam - Considered to be the standard firing module, this module deals damage in much the same way as a typical scatterblasters, via sheer energy output. However, it should be noted that the discharged bolts have an explosive effect upon connecting with a target.
      • Solarized Particle Beam - Capable of melting durasteel plating and setting targets alight, this module deals damage by superheating the target and ideally, incinerating them. It is also capable of bypassing conventional deflector shields.
      • Ion Particle Beam - Fires bolts of ionized particles that are effective against electronics and can feasibly overload shields. Often utilized when a target is needed alive, but might also be deployed to drain shields before finishing the target off via another firing module.
      • Sonic Particle Beam - Derived from ancient Geonosian designs, the sonic module fires bolts of condensed sonic energy sheathed within a volatile plasma containment field. Upon impact, the field collapses, unleashing a potentially lethal burst of sonic energy that can rupture organs or even cause targets to explode outright.
      • Cryogenic Particle Beam - Fires bolts of cryogenic particles, frozen to ultra-cold temperatures via cryogenized gas. They are capable of flash-freezing and potentially shattering targets or alternatively, causing severe cold injuries.
      • Stun Beam - Fires a ring of energy at a lower power setting, capable of stunning targets.
    • Adjustable Cone and Spread of Discharge - In general, a wider spread or cone of fire gives a lower range in exchange for increased AoE capability, while a narrower spread allows for a longer range and a more concentrated damage output.

STRENGTHS
  • Versatility - A hybrid weapon, the FAE/W-15 can be switched on the fly from one firing module to the other, allowing the user to choose the best option for the situation. Alternatively, the governing computer brain integrated into the CI sight might select or recommend the best module for the situation, upon analyzing a host of factors and conditions.
  • Terror Weapon - Firing a spray of several particle bolts, the FAE/W-15 has an extremely destructive damage potential. A single, direct blast on the particle beam module within the weapon's effective range is roughly equivalent to being struck by ten particle beam blaster bolts at once, complete with additional explosive effects.
  • Unrelenting Chaos - With its blistering rate of fire, the FAE/W-15 is quite ideal for battering down defenses and unleashing devastation at close range. As an additional option, both barrels can be fired at once. In no uncertain terms, the FAE/W-15 is an aggressive, shocking weapon capable of wreaking terrifying amounts of havoc and destruction.
WEAKNESSES
  • Fortune Teller - If the weapon is fired with a misaligned prismatic crystal, the risk of an explosive outcome is somewhat high, likely ending with the weapon going off in the wielder’s hand to potentially catastrophic effect in the event that they attempt to fire it in spite of the damage.
  • Heat Hazard - While the FAE/W-15 is equipped with a cooling system, long, extended firefights can result in a rapid heat buildup which surpasses the rate of cooling. Should this reach a certain temperature threshold, the weapon integrity system will lock the scatterblaster to prevent the shooter from firing. The shooter can opt to bypass this lock and continue, but doing so risks damaging the weapon, the shooter suffering severe burns, or in more extreme cases, causing the weapon to detonate within their hands.
  • Mechu-deru - Like any piece of technology, the FAE/W-15 is susceptible to Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce a jam or some other mechanical failure that might compromise the weapon entirely or demand precious time to fix, leaving the shooter vulnerable.
  • Cut Through the Middle - The FAE/W-15 breaks open when reloading, creating a structural weakness which an opponent could exploit to destroy the weapon.
DESCRIPTION
A dramatic, daring upscaling of the FAE/W-11 Gauntlet Scatterblaster, the FAE/W-15 Hybrid Particle Scatterblaster is another new entry into First United Astral Engineering's small arms product lineup, alongside the FAE/W-14 and the FAE/W-13. Incorporating the company's standard suite of utility features, the FAE/W-15 is a particularly aggressive weapon, focused on close quarters combat, firepower, and shocking brutality. While tantalizing features, these traits alone do not make the platform unique or necessarily set it above its competitors. Rather, the design's emphasis on utility and versatility in the form of the hybrid modules, security functions, and advanced electronics are hoped to make up the difference that potentially distinguishes the weapon from its competition. All in all, the FAE/W-15 Hybrid Particle Scatterblaster is a weapon of unquestionable purpose, with its sleek, yet brutal aesthetic hinting that the destruction it is capable of inflicting. It is hoped to become a feared, potent weapon in the hands of its users.
