Prologue
Ishikawa Cyber-Café
Coruscant
White with glass paintings. Smooth wooden floors and silver chairs. The Café was bright today; effortlessly.
"Hey blue. ...You look lost. Penny for your thoughts."
He was tall, dark, and handsome; except for the stray grey hair. Grant Pherson. Ex-Jedi turned journalist. And his smile was magnificent.
"Hmm. No, just... Thinking."
"Oh? About what."
He set down two cups of coffee on the bar windowsill and took a seat at her side. Leaning closer as he sipped his warm morning breakfast.
"Hm. Oh, you know. About where to go next. What other secret wars lie in wait out there. ...Just. Things like that. It's nothing."
She brushed away her striking blue hair and sighed. She wasn't used to this. This, uncertainty. It was new for the one-time, Jedi Knight turned Omega Naval Commander. She didn't like just doing nothing.
Grant nodded and squinted hard against the glare. He peered out the windows into the city streets below. It was a beautiful day outside.
"Well. Haha. Ya know. You could always just run away with me, hmm."
Karen smirked and pulled her hair over her ears. She loved Grant, and he loved her. It made her sad sometimes. It had been such a long time since they had just been together. Something always got in the way.
"Well mister. ...Maybe I'd like that. Hehe. Who knows?"
She leaned her head against his shoulder and peered out the window with hope. The future was always moving.
As Karen grew quiet again, Grant took the moment to pull out his phone. Checking the messages he turned to Karen with a smile.
"I took the liberty of looking into that little thing we talked about. Here. Take a look."
Karen sat up straight and rubbed the sleepy feelings from her eyes,
"What's this?"
"They call themselves the Army of Light. Jedi Warriors from every race, with a new code, and a new way of life."
"Really?"
"Since you've been asking about purpose lately? I thought we'd look into it. What do you say?"
"And your job?"
"For you? Anything."
He smiled and leaned forward, kissing her lightly on the forehead. She pulled him close and whispered.
"...Just me and you?"
"Yeah. Just me and you."
She squeezed him tightly. It would be another adventure.

A few days later...The Jedi Temple, Cafeteria Commons
Coruscant
She liked meeting over food. It was an old habit for ol' Blue, but a welcome one. Karen had arrived at the Temple earlier today to get her old paperwork back in order. It had taken a few hours but now it was lunchtime. She was eager to get something to eat.
As she stood in line to be served Karen added herself to the Army of Lights message board. Asking for anyone associated with the group to meet her here for lunch. Surely there were some Jedi members about that wouldn't mind a quick chat.
After all, it's just lunch.
