Ishikawa Cyber-Café
Coruscant

White with glass paintings. Smooth wooden floors and silver chairs. The Café was bright today; effortlessly.

"Hey blue. ...You look lost. Penny for your thoughts."

He was tall, dark, and handsome; except for the stray grey hair. Grant Pherson. Ex-Jedi turned journalist. And his smile was magnificent.

"Hmm. No, just... Thinking."

"Oh? About what."

He set down two cups of coffee on the bar windowsill and took a seat at her side. Leaning closer as he sipped his warm morning breakfast.

"Hm. Oh, you know. About where to go next. What other secret wars lie in wait out there. ...Just. Things like that. It's nothing."

She brushed away her striking blue hair and sighed. She wasn't used to this. This, uncertainty. It was new for the one-time, Jedi Knight turned Omega Naval Commander. She didn't like just doing nothing.

Grant nodded and squinted hard against the glare. He peered out the windows into the city streets below. It was a beautiful day outside.

"Well. Haha. Ya know. You could always just run away with me, hmm."

Karen smirked and pulled her hair over her ears. She loved Grant, and he loved her. It made her sad sometimes. It had been such a long time since they had just been together. Something always got in the way.

"Well mister. ...Maybe I'd like that. Hehe. Who knows?"

She leaned her head against his shoulder and peered out the window with hope. The future was always moving.

As Karen grew quiet again, Grant took the moment to pull out his phone. Checking the messages he turned to Karen with a smile.

"I took the liberty of looking into that little thing we talked about. Here. Take a look."

Karen sat up straight and rubbed the sleepy feelings from her eyes,

"What's this?"

"They call themselves the Army of Light. Jedi Warriors from every race, with a new code, and a new way of life."

"Really?"

"Since you've been asking about purpose lately? I thought we'd look into it. What do you say?"

"And your job?"

"For you? Anything."

He smiled and leaned forward, kissing her lightly on the forehead. She pulled him close and whispered.

"...Just me and you?"

"Yeah. Just me and you."

She squeezed him tightly. It would be another adventure.

A few days later...

The Jedi Temple, Cafeteria Commons
Coruscant

She liked meeting over food. It was an old habit for ol' Blue, but a welcome one. Karen had arrived at the Temple earlier today to get her old paperwork back in order. It had taken a few hours but now it was lunchtime. She was eager to get something to eat.

As she stood in line to be served Karen added herself to the Army of Lights message board. Asking for anyone associated with the group to meet her here for lunch. Surely there were some Jedi members about that wouldn't mind a quick chat.

After all, it's just lunch.

___

Preliat set his helmet down firstly. The T-shaped visor reflected Karen firstly, and then a small gauntlet was in view. The young Mandalorian sat down across from her, bringing his tray of food. A lot of food, most of it protein and carb filled, to reflect Preliat's intense workout regime and Mandalorian lifestyle. It wasn't uncommon for a Mandalorian nowadays to be around the Jedi, and given Preliat's current affiliation, moreso acceptable. He didn't say anything as he sat down, and ate for a little while before speaking. With the Jedi, and the Republic as a whole, he didn't say much.

"Su'cuy."1He said bluntly, a greeting obviously to those he did not know the language."My name is Preliat Mantis."He said bluntly, laying his long and rather intimidating M45 rifle next to him on the table, casually. He didn't seem to care where he was, he seemed more interested in the food.

Basic Translation:
1.
"Hi."
The context in which Preliat uses it is rather blunt and therefore not exactly as positive as it would normally seem.

"Well. They're just letting anybody in these days, aren't they?"

Karen was a little offended to be sharing a table with one of Mandalore's infamous nomads. Not just because most M-Iron warriors were hard to get along with, but because they also tended to specialize in killing Force Users. She particularly hated that armor they wore. It stopped lightsabers. She hated things that stopped lightsabers. In Karen's thirties years of fighting colonial wars she had only met three others of the bloodline armor; and she had wanted to kill all of them by the end of it.

"I don't begrudge your rifle. If I were surrounded in a Temple by the Galaxies most often-disregarded killers, I'd probably bring one too."

She could be blunt. She could be rude. It was a language Mandalorian's understood by nature. Though, in her experience the only language they truly respected was that of violence. They lived for it, they bled for it. Heck, they probably bred for it too.

"So Mando." She disregarded his name, "...Kill many Sith lately? You are in the Army of Light, yes? Making yourself useful, hmm?"

If there was one thing that put Karen Roberts on-edge, it was a Mandalorian.

Coci sat herself down at the end of the table, joining who appeared to be the woman that placed a message on the AoL boards for a lunch catch up. Not much to go on in the message, apart from a name Karen Roberts. The only thing to indicate the presence of Karen was her company, Preliat. She had meet Preliat before on a operations mission, so knew the man by this, although she did not really see his face, it was the helmet that gave the game away. For the moment, Coci just sat and began on her food before her, and listened to them 'speaking', although the conversation brought a slight smile to her face as she chewed.

She reached out and took up her glass of water and drank. Trying to lighten the mood, she spoke. "Karen Roberts? .. Hello I am Coci Sinopi from the Army of Light", she introduced her self. "Well met again Preliat", she addressed the Mando.

"Not any Sith, but I did kill a lot of Stormtroopers and I curb stomped @[member="James Parker"]. He's all well and dead now."He returned the bluntness, noticing the disdain for Mandalorians in her tone. It wasn't uncommon for a force user to not like them, truth be told, Mandalorians and other force users hadn't really got along for quite some time, and when they did, it was sort of a mutual relationship rather than a cooperation or even a friendly thing to do.

He stared at her for a moment, before pausing after chewing. He let his fork drop, in a very sudden manner."We're not all monsters, you know, Jedi."He didn't call her by her name either."Are you nervous around me, Jedi?"He said, tapping the fork on his fully-loaded plate. He smiled briefly at Coci, enjoying her company again. He smiled a bit harder, realizing that she hadn't seen his face before now, which, was not entirely uncommon for some people who had met Mandalorians to never see their face.

Because their helmet, was their face.

Karen was a little embarrassed when Codi joined the table. It was unbecoming of a lady to be overheard nitpicking at her allies. Even if those allies were Mandalorians these days.

Karen gave an audible cough and attempted to recompose herself. Addressing Mantis first,

"Hmph. Well. I'm always nervous around Clanners. Unlike a well-crafted firearm, your people are volatile and unpredictable. Qualities I generally dislike in my weapons. Any professional might agree. You might not be a monster personally, warrior. But I find the archetype, uncivilized."

It was more than a little hypocritical. Karen had killed many sentients in her time, and not always in the most pleasant or 'civilized' of ways. But there was something that poked at her ego. Something about how a mere human could challenge a woman who molded the universe to her liking everyday. Of all the creatures that could not feel the Force, only the Mandalorians had succeeded in defeating Karen Roberts on the battlefield consistently. A fact that still sent familiar shivers up her spine in their presence.

Then she took a more relaxed tone and posture to welcome Agent Sinopi. Karen could appreciate her beauty and gentle tact already,

"Now here is a beautiful creature. Smart and seductive. A pleasure to meet you Lady Coci Sinopi. No doubt our soldier friend here could learn a thing or two about a woman's grace, just by admiring you."

She smiled and winked as she said it. Though, more like a matriarch than a suitor. Karen's age was beginning to show.

"Fascinating that Kei's Army seems to have attracted such a diverse group of Specialists? I was expecting only Jedi Knights to be among the ranks?"

It was as much a question as it was, an observation. Much had changed since she and Ben had walked the forests of Tython during the Republic's rebirth. So many new faces abounded.

Although Coci near about choked on her food as Karen spoke, she was not expecting that kind of response to her arrival. She supposed the 'grace' that Karen had noticed might a result of her birth training, those things ever leave no matter how are no tries to cover them up. "I am hardly what you would call seductive", she smiled now at the thought of it, considering her cold manner. "But I thankyou for the compliments".

Coci drank more of her water, her presence now seemed to have at least lighten the mood between them, maybe they liked each other and did not know it, or not. But whatever it was electricity was in the air.

"There are some Jedi Knights within the AoL, and other more specialised personal, force sensitive and non force sensitive alike, which I think is one of the pluses .. a diversity of talent is alway a strength".

"Besides, maybe if I do a good enough job a few of my friends might come and join the party. Maybe I'll start a big group. You know, tour the galaxy, gather the best of the worst, report back here, make bad days for the Sith."He said, leaning forward and mawing down more of the pulled meat. It was almost barbaric the way he ate, which, wasn't uncommon for a Mandalorian. He turned to Coci, shrugging.

"You're pretty cute, I'll give you that. But grace and all that comes naturally, and it doesn't work well with some women and some people. She doesn't look like the girly type anyway, she'd probably kick my ass in a fight anyway."Preliat said, casually wolfing down more food as he spoke.

Karen nodded and did her best to understand. She wasn't very good at adapting anymore. She felt like she was getting too old for that.

"I see. Well, I suppose that diversity is a good thing. Have either of you been involved in much fighting? I'm curious as to how the Army plans to overtake the Sith Empire will so few volunteers?"

Karen understood that by signing up to fight Sith, she was pretty much signing her own death sentence. So she didn't mind pondering upon all the gruesome ways that Kei's Army was going to get her valiantly killed.

Coci smiled as Preliat was eating and talking about grace. But she turned back to Karen now as she spoke.

"I have been in a fight against the Sith on Torgoria .. the Army of Light at this moment do not have many that is true, but what we do have are more then capable of holding their own, it is dangerous yes .. only a fool would think it otherwise, so we .. have to use hit and run tactics. In time we will build more and have more resources at our disposal along with personel". she said. "That is why a diversity of skills is required and so far we have been affective and with the will of the force, we will continue to do so".

She turned back to her plate and eat some more.

Preliat remained silent, picking at his thinning pile of meat, before he realized that they posed the question to him as well. He looked up at them, pointing a fork between them.

"The only guy like me I've seen is Jedediah, and he only really counts is because he shoots a gun, unlike you sword-waving weirdos."He said sarcastically, going back to his food. He stared at the older woman for a while, before narrowing his eyes."Take over? I don't intend to take over shit, miss. I hope no one does. Maybe you just chose poor words, but I want them to be gone. Dead. Done. Remember Yaga Minor? I do. And I want revenge. I want them to burn. I want Korriban to be a wasteland with nothing more than a big pretty pile of nothing on it. Maybe a flag that says 'fuck you' and I get to piss on anything I want on that planet. Other than that, I don't want to take over the Sith. The Sith can go suck a fat one, I want them dead." He practically stabbed his plate, and shoveled more food into his mouth."But you Jedi-space-hippies are pretty cool, even if some of my people don't agree."He said, glancing up from his plate.

Karen genuinely smiled at Mantis after that. Apparently he wasn't the usual care-about-nothing Merc. He actually had a head on his shoulders for Galactic Politics. Heck, she'd vote him Supreme Chancellor any day.

"Well said Mandalorian. Apparently there is some heart in that Iron of yours. Fascinating."

She could save the compliments. Most soldiers didn't enjoy them anyway. The blue haired woman turned to Sinopi with a nod,

"I see. I understand the need for a guerilla war given the circumstances, but how does the Jedi Council feel about our War Effort so far? Surely we must have allies? Perhaps even unconventional ones."

Karen was used to fighting the Sith with the combined forces of Omega, Manda, Republic, and Jedi. If Kei's Army could facilitate this superpower again? Well. Then ol' Blue might just live to see tomorrow.

"Now that I can not answer", Coci replied to Karen's question. "I have no dealings with the Jedi Council so I do not know what their attitude is toward us", she smiled. "But I don't think it is to favourable, why I do not know considering there are Jedi Order members here and we are on the same side".

She continued to eat .. picking through some salad on her tray, "But time will tell what happens to us and I hope we will grow to full strength, I would hate to see the Army of Light fall by the wayside".

Then she thought, "But that does not stop us from doing the work we wish to now does it? maybe we three should find a mission and go do some good", she smiled to both of them now.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T SERVE BOOZE!? It's like Eleven Thirty AM of course you sell booze!!" A cry of frustration echoed from line where the food was served, "Mutha Frakker better have some mutha Frakkin alcohol in the next five seconds or I will flip my karking switch and turn this mug inside out!" more whining came from the line before a deep sighing sound was heard. Walking over to the tables Patricia the blonde haired blue eyes slender woman dropped her tray on the table. Sitting down she put both of her hands on her chin and puckered her lips in boredom and disappointment.

Then that's when she smelled it, the stench was unmistakable. It was a man, a very manly man capable of doing wonderful things with his man hands. Looking over she saw @[member="Preliat Mantis"] talking to what seemed to be two obviously less pretty girls then her. "Oh if someone could help me!" she spoke as if she were a damsel in distress hoping someone would help her. "I said oh if someone could HELP me!" she said again before looking back over at Preliat and friends

"Okay mother frakker!" standing up she walked over to the mandalorian and pointed her finger in his face and hmpfed "Okay what's your problem when a woman says Help Me you just-" the woman cut herself short before staring at Preliat, he was a handsome mando. Patricia like, "Uhhh err gah I was no um hey no I mean" she was all but drooling looking at him lost in her own little pervy world

Stepping inside the tiny cantina - at least, it appeared tiny to the giant Valkyri Prince - there were many people from distinctively different races and species sharing the locale. As the more-than-likely only Valkyr to have set foot in the place, the staff had little idea of what to make of him. He took a look around, surveying the patrons and barmaids alike, with many of them staring back at him. Able to shrug off the unwanted attention, however, he took a seat in one of the undersized chairs right in the thick of it. The Valkyr put down his large bag containing various equipment and personal items on the floor next to him before attempting to attract the attention of one of the waitresses, but to no avail. Realising this, he slammed his huge fist into the table - which proceeded to quake in fear under his great strength - loudly pronouncing in the Valkyri way: "Is there no tavern-wench willing to bring a man a large jug of mead?!" Those around him went quiet at his display, and in an attempt to show his well-meaning with his previously uttered words, he cracked a smile across his face which quickly died out as people returned to their buisness, leaving him with an awkward feeling inside. By Odiir, he missed his home world...

Preliat sighed, at Coci's response, the new girl, the new guy, and looked up at Karen, rolling his eyes. Clearly, he just wanted to have a quiet meal, but noooo, that couldn't happen. And then there was the big guy. And then there was the whiny chick.

He nearly beamed his fork at the behemoth, but restrained so that he didn't upset his comrades."...One meal. I'm asking, for one meal..."He said to Karen, then pointing at the other two. He nudged Coci to take a gander at the two newcomers, a grin cracking across the previous thousand yard stare, even if only for a second.

Coci's eyebrows shot up as the two new comers took a seat with them. The girl was pretty enough but very rough, there is no princess there or it is her way of covering up her self issues, a cover up to something more or that she does not want others to see. A member of the Army of Light it seems .. it will be interesting to see how she fits in to all of this. Then a man, huge in build and height sat by her. Coci's eye traveled for what seemed like miles over the man as she took in his physique. Oh there a strange things to be seen in the galaxy and two had just walked in.

She could not help but smile, at Preliat's rolling eyes and at the two new people. "Greetings, I am Coci, and who are you both?", she asked. "And just a word of ... advice?, you are in the Jedi Order dinning area, it does not do to go around asking for serving wenches and swearing your head off, you might find yourself out on the streets", she smiled more, know full well the girl at least, would not care less.

The already slient giant grew even more silent at the mention of his apparent display of disrespect, and decided to remain such in hopes of redeeming his burst of loud-mouth-ness. A party of three were sat a few tables away from him, who all had taken notice of him. He was a new face among already established faces, and it appeared the ways of the Valkyri people differed much from those of these Jedi, and Republicans overall. When one of the party spoke at him and the young woman who seemed to bother them, he turned his head in their direction, hesitantly so. They seemed annoyed with him, and he could understand why; nobody else were making loud noises, and he was used to the loud feasts back on Midvinter. Inclining his head to the woman who had spoken, he replied. "I beg you a thousand pardons, my lady. If you haven't guessed already, I'm not from these parts." As he finished, a waitress brought him a large cup of... some sort of alcoholic beverage. He sighed at this shameful attempt at measuring up to what he was used to, yet he drank it down nontheless. Two gulps later and it was gone. "Another, wen- I mean, miss...", he told the woman who had not even been given a chance to leave his sight before being asked to bring him another drink.

Her telling Patricia what to do?! Well she probably is a higher ranked officer but still, it was a little bit upsetting for the woman. "I like my mouth, it's good for swearing, eating, breathing and other things best left behind closed doors!" she responded to the woman then laughed. "So girl don't be knocking on my skill set!" she smiled and joked around before eyes turned to the large built piece of man that was whatever his train wreck of a name was!

"Oh if only a big strong man could help me quench my thirst!" the woman mock sighed and wood before collapsing onto the man's lap. "Yes all my dreams have come true!" looking up at him she started to feel around his coat for a flask. She certainly had no problem getting what she wanted from someone

Surprised to say the least when a young woman fell into his lap, Athéirûn couldn't help but blush at the more than forthcoming girl. Her shape was tiny compared to that of the Valkyr, resembling that of a small child had she been of his people. While no stranger to women making advances on him - he was a prince, after all, and many fair maidens wished themselves lucky enough to become his betrothed - the fact that he'd only been in the locale, not to mention the planet, for just a little over an hour, and already maidens were throwing themselves at him. Have these people no restraint on their youths? She then began feeling around his person, as if looking for something. The thick furs combined with the armour he wore would make it difficult to say the least, especially as he did not know what she was looking for in the first place. "Erm, miss? If you'll allow me...?" He then proceeded to pick her up from his lap with his giant hands as if she was a doll in the hands of a child and delicately put her onto the table in front of him. He greeted her with a smile as he grasped her tiny hand and brought it up to his lips which then planted a delicate kiss upon her knuckles, as was custom for his people. "I believe introductions are in order, don't you? My name is Athéirûn, son of High King Beorlund of Midvinter. By Éar's beauty, may I know yours, fair maiden of this realm?"
