Public Live Aide for the Galaxy

The travel lanes to Alderaan were open, word had been spread throughout the Alliance and to friend neighbors. Alderaan was hosting a concert to raise funds for the citizens displaced by war across the galaxy. It had taken months to put this together and even now as ships began to arrive, hotels filled, guests houses rented out, and restaurants were busy Faith feared for what could go wrong.

The Alderaan Navy was on patrol watching out for trouble just in case.

A huge outdoor concert venue had been set up for the bands and singers.

R.830acd5df483fda5b47fc4346ef6335a

There were several bands and singers preparing for the all day concert. Names like Shae Smithox, The Tatooine Five, the Naboo Tenors, Greedo Punk were just a few that had agreed to come and play. As usual the Vendors set up selling everything from fresh flowers, candy, cheese, wine, weapons made of phrik, ...you name it someone was offering it for sale.

Behind the scenes there was a conference between representatives of the Galaxy to discuss on where to focus the aide and establish relationships with other worlds with the same interests as Alderaan.

Faith gave a small short speech via a holo to be broadcast periodically throughout the day.

"Thank you all for coming, your donations today will help those in need. Enjoy the concert!"

LIVE:

“This is Holly Starstorm with HNN Radio! Today I am live at the bennefit concert being hosted on Alderaan. We will be interviewing band members and giving away free autographed t-shirts so make sure to stop by my booth. Keep your ears tuned to 96.7 HNN Radio for more updates!”

She switched off the sound board and grabbed her water bottle. The smells of the food vendors were tempting and she wad calculating what tracks to play while she snuck away for a snack.

Dorthea Dobson

Chief Director of Damascus Station
Dorthea Dobson had arrived earlier with Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun ’s ship the day before, but had insisted on providing her own accommodations for lodging. Ever since she had been financially cut off from her father, Arken Dobson Arken Dobson , she had been keen on exercising her own independence. She wasn't filthy "trust fund" rich anymore, but she had her officer's wage with the Elysium Empire navy and Lieutenant Commanders didn't do too badly for income. That, and she was on the MandalArms payroll as an assistant/tutor, so that helped.

But finding an affordable hotel that was close enough to the conference was still a living hell. Most accommodations for the conference were either for beings of obvious wealth, or employees of said beings who had their expenses covered. Plus, with the festival, lodging rates had skyrocketed for the duration. So she had been forced to settle for the diviest little motel she had ever seen. It was ugly, it stank, and she was pretty sure someone had died in her room at one point. But it was close to the conference.

As soon as her alarm on her data pad went off, she jolted awake with years of regimented military routine and got to work. It was clearly daylight outside, and she wasn't entirely sure what time zone this part of the planet was on, but life in the navy had accustomed her to travel lag and she was already getting dressed with a clear mind. She dressed in her standard navy uniform, which was comfortable and skin tight, and then threw her crisp officer's uniform over top of that. With years of expert practice, she threw her hair into a regulation bun, with a subtle-yet stylish twist which was appropriate for an occasion such as this. She applied her makeup, not much, and then strapped her blaster to her side. Lastly, and most importantly, she put in two little dull-grey metal earrings. They were nothing more than a small hook, a short three-ring chain, and a metal ball about one centimetre in diameter. On the ball was an engraved impression of a lion.

The earrings were nothing special to a casual observer, but they would be critical to her case when she made it to the conference.

Now she looked over herself once and was satisfied with the results. Particularly around the waistline. In recent years, she had lost a lot of weight by training with the Marine Corps on the HMS Shii-Cho. She was no longer the frumpy quartermaster she once was for the First Order, and she was quite proud of that. Now, she felt worthy of representing the Elysium Navy in both her body and her mind.

She stepped out of her motel room and called up an air taxi. When it arrived, she stepped inside and said to the driver, "get me to the refugee conference, and step on it! Also, you might wanna do something about the smell in this karking thing…"

The driver turned around to glare at her, and she rolled her eyes. Begrudgingly, she reached into her uniform pocket and produced an ample number of cred coins, clearly more than the cab fare would likely accumulate, and set them on the seat beside the man, "oh, just get me there on time, for Kriff sakes…"

Severus had arrived early this morning, right as light was overcoming the darkness of night. The light reflected off his personal Nubian Royal Starship, a gift from his father, Arken Dobson. He was here to represent The Dobson Family, and The Elysium Empire, in that order. Of course he was also going to have some fun as the concerts were planned to go on throughout the day. As the ship landed, immediately he was greeted by a handful of men and women, who proceeded to escort him to the nearest terminal where he paid the landing fees, and found the best hotel in the area.

It certainly was the best hotel. He had been traveling for a while; Alderaan was far from The Elysium Imperial Fleet, so when he entered his hotel room and found every imaginable luxury, it was quite a relief. Of course it wasn't cheap, but who needed cheap? He was the son of a billionaire...prices were irrelevant. After watching a bit of local and galactic news, Severus took a long nap on an impressively soft bed, enjoying the luxury while he could. Later he would be surrounded by filthy refugees, something he was not looking forward to.

Later
The time had come. Severus woke up, brushed his teeth, which practically emitted a light of their own thanks to the best dentists in the galaxy. Then he took a wet cloth with some scented oils and wiped off his face, waking himself up in a refreshing and energizing way. Finally he took some gel, fixing his hair up the way he had for his whole life. Giving himself one last look in the mirror, Severus grinned, and exited the room without picking up a single thing. That was for the maids, they were paid for it after all.

He walked on down to the event, where a massive crowd was already gathered. He looked around, observing the masses. Some stood out, clearly there were some rich folks among the people, most surrounded by a bubble of security guards. Others practically blended in apart from their clothes. Most of the crowd was made of just average people wanted to attend the concerts. As for the refugees, most were upright, simply enjoying themselves. Others lined the baselines of buildings, setting up camps where they begged for coin. Finally there was the media. They were spread throughout the crowd with their crews, interviewing the rich and the refugees both.

Severus was here, surrounded by people, and he was lost. He had no idea where to go, where to start. He was supposed to represent his family, but he didn't know how. No doubt his father would have been behind the scenes already, meeting with the most important people on Alderaan and its' portion of the galaxy. But Severus wasn't Arken. He had always been behind Arken, following his lead...Arken was The Big Guy and Severus wasn't. But with Arken in prison thanks to a biased King, Severus was expected to step up.

He took an angry, deep breath, then exhaled in a heavy sigh. He looked around, spotting Holly Starstorm Holly Starstorm , and immediately took off in her direction. He would use the media to give himself and his family a good name, and maybe he could get some information from her afterwards....

Once Holly had set up a few tracks to play in her absence she headed towards the delicious scents wafting from nearby stalls. A few moments latter and she was returning to her booth with a soft pretzel and a flavored water. To her surprise her booth had attracted a visitor.

“Hi! Welcome to 96.7! Would you like to sign up for our t-shirt giveaway?”

She hadn't really examined the man too closely as she sat down her snacks and picked up her headphones, but now that her eyes found him more clearly recognition set in. She was after all a reporter and a good reporter knew the wealthy and political people of the galaxy. Seriously nobody bought that suoerdude holo film where the reporter did not know who the alter ego of batdude was. That just wasn't realistic at all!

“It is nice to meet the son of Arken. What bring you out today?”

Lori had arrived with Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson and Arla. However the former preferred to just be on her own, while the latter always stuck to her like glue like any bodyguard would. Alderaan and the Organa's were close to her family at one point. Whether they were still or not, she had no idea. Lori didn't spend a lot of time with her family, moreso due to wars that she was told to stay away from. She was used to being pushed away for her 'safety' and so she got used to the idea of being on her own.

Not long ago she had accepted an arranged marriage set up by her aunt. Although it was said to be for the good of the family and for both little empires; Lori had kept it only to herself that she had mainly accepted the marriage so that she wouldn't be pushed aside and left to be alone. She wanted to have some importance to someone, whether it was good or bad. Right now it was all strictly business as most arranged marriages were. More than likely it would always be that way, but at least she got to be around more people instead of just wandering the galaxy day by day with no purpose.

Today she hoped to mingle, if that was the right word, donate some credits and maybe get a contract or two. And it couldn't hurt to eat some yummy treats too.

Lori was dressed like a spacer this time, as opposed to anything fitting all of the various titles that she had. She wasn't one to flaunt them all like so many others were. But maybe that was all on account of having to hide a lot. Plus having Arla walking along with her gave her all the protection that she needed. However it wasn't as though she had enemies to speak of. The only one that posed as a potential threat was Arken Dobson Arken Dobson and he was in jail. Besides, it wasn't as though he could somehow get her arrested here.

She munched on some fried foods as she walked through the vendors isle, looking for something to catch her eye.

Faith stared at the holoscreen, "oh my look Holly Starstorm is here reporting on the concert." The serious look disappeared as she broke into a smile, "This good it will get the attention it needs and we may got donations from others across the galaxy."

"You think so Faith?" Becca stepped closer to watch as well. "I do." One thing Faith had learned over time put something in the media and soon everyone talked about it, good or bad but they talked.

"Did Theo make to the concert stage?" Faith had tasked Theo with starting the Concert of. The family needed to be visible today. Once she had confirmation that Theo was indeed at the concert. Faith needed to step up, "I'm ready to go for a walk. Becca make sure Ikenna Tahj Ikenna Tahj and Kilij Qel-Nosh Kilij Qel-Nosh know I'm going for a walk."

The Raiders had put enough fear into her to understand that she could no longer just walk about she needed to let them know where she was going. Just in case. There were still some out there, as well as the Killiks. Alderaan the haven for all the displaced of the galaxy even the ones that didn't like them.

Faith dressed casual, simple floor blue length gown, soft soled shoes, and a touch of make up. Nothing fancy. She would start just by going out the front door she wasn't hiding behind the walls. She wanted a cookie and Alderaan made some of the best.

She wondered who would she run into today. Perhaps members from the Noble houses, Alexandra girard , Alicio Organa Alicio Organa and who knew who else, Marina DeVoe Marina DeVoe

Theo hated crowds it made him feel like a small bug on the bottom of someone's shoe waiting to be stepped on. The crowd roared pushing slightly forward, yep nope this wasn't a job he could do all the time.

He looked to the leader singer of Tatooine Five,
"it is like this always?"

"Yes, isn't it exciting!" A big grin told Theo the guy lived for this.

I should be excited, I should want to jump up and down and party with them. But I feel riveted to where I stand and the thought of going out there stops my heart. I wish my Grandfather or Father were here.

"
They are ready Theo."

"Right...ready" He wanted to run you have no idea how badly he wanted to run the other way. He had to do this even if he ran through the words so fast no one understood them...he ...feth.

Theo tugged on his Tshirt...I can do it.....Feth.

Automatic smile - on check
Walk--------yep walking

The lights hit him blinding him to the crowd, he couldn't see them...this could be a good thing

"WELCOME TO ALDERAAN!!!! WELCOME TO LIVE AIDE! We want to thank you for being here, but let's not waste time. There's an incredible line up tonight that are gonna rock your socks off" They probably all wore sandals..."I know you aren't here to listen to me talk! So let's get it started....here is the TATOOINE FIVE!"

Ok so he didn't stutter, fall or faint...he passed the band on the way back..."LET'S DO IT!!!" The Lead singer roared and the crowd roared back.

I need to get out more

Severus flashed the reporter -Holly Starstorm or something if he remembered her name correctly- his signature smile as he had practiced in the mirror earlier. After a second, the woman recognized him, and promptly welcomed him ""It's nice to meet the son of Arken. What brings you out today?"" Severus kept his smile, replying "Oh, you know Holly, party around a little-" A large cheer from the crowd indicated that the concerts were beginning "-share the wealth a little more, and maybe catch up on some rumors for this corner of the galaxy. Say, I don't guess you know where I could donate a large amount of credits, courtesy of The Dobson family and Empire?"

He held his smile, fading it only a little. He was on camera as far as he could tell, so there was no chance of dropping the look. People liked smiles, especially smiles as good as his. He couldn't help but laugh at how simple people could be. A few smiles, some well-placed donations, and an entire family could be as popular as the first king of an Empire, and any corruption was overlooked entirely by most of the people. Severus neither knew nor cared about the reason behind this oddity. As long as he was benefiting from it, he didn't care what caused it...ignorance, stupidity, some unknown power? It mattered not. And he was about to continue to benefit from that formula of public success today. It was almost enough to make the bright white smile on his face sincere.

Dorthea Dobson

Chief Director of Damascus Station
Dorthea stepped out of the taxi, slammed the door, and the little airspeeder peeled away with engines roaring as if to say "get me away from this horrible woman".

The cloud of frustration and irritation that was in her head began to lift immediately as she witnessed the festivities all around her. Vendors, music, people, kiosks, and running children were everywhere. The colours and smells were almost as loud as the music playing and the jumble of voices in the air. Children played together as parents and adults of various races conversed in relative ease in the public scene.

Dorthea stepped precariously into the ebb and flow of foot traffic, taking care not to muck up her pristine officer's uniform. Naturally, because of her obviously outlandish and official appearance, people typically kept their distance as much as they could in this dense crowd. She appreciated the general sentiment in her mind and used it to her advantage to get through as easily as possible.

She was a bit early according to the chrono on her data pad, and she figured she had a few free minutes. She decided to grab a light breakfast before she made her way to the conference. Inwardly, she grimaced as all she saw was deep-fried festival food at practically every food stall, and it made her feel a bit sick to think about it. She had come this far to get in tip-top physical condition for her age. She was not about to lose all her progress today, no matter how hungry she felt. "Cheat days" were for tacky losers, after all.

She continued through the crowds as she hunted for a worthy meal. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Arla through the shifting crowds. Dorthea shuddered. She had met Arla many times before, and the little strange woman always gave her the creeps. The two had rarely exchanged words and nothing seemed to affect her in a normal way. At least she's easy to ignore Dorthea thought to herself.

But where there's Arla, there's always that "damn Mandalorian goofball" nearby. Dorthea began to scan around Arla for Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun . Once she saw her, she attempted to catch her eye, and then signal to her with her hand as if to say "if you need anything from me, call me on my datapad". Once the message was received, she moved on through the crowd to resume her hunt.

Later as she wandered, she swore she could feel the slime on her skin before she saw him.

Right there, talking to some blonde bimbo at a radio kiosk, was her slimy, spoiled, "apple of her father's eye" brother, Severus Dobson Severus Dobson .

She figured he could see her through the crowd easily enough. A bright purple navy uniform wasn't exactly stealthy. So she gestured inappropriately at him in such a way that was very much not appropriate for children to see, and moved on. Finally, she found a kiosk that sold local authentic fruits and moved in to make a purchase. Next, she hoped to find some cafe and that would conclude her breakfast before the conference began.

She checked her chrono. She still had time.

This was not Alicio's usual concert venue.

He tended to prefer quieter locales, concert halls with lots of breathing room and small stages in the back rooms of timid cantinas. This particular Alderaanian noble loved the sounds of gentle strings and droning brass, the interplay of an orchestra, or the cinnamon-spiced tones of slow jazz. He would close his eyes, and immerse himself in it, as if being baptized in a cool river.

Following that same metaphor, this rock concert felt like going down white-water rapids in an inner tube.

Thankfully, Alicio hadn't been too close to the stage when Theo Vereen Theo Vereen began talking. He'd been way in the back of the event, browsing through the vendors, enjoying the sights and sounds and smells of the heightened atmosphere. There was something electric in the air, something Alicio hadn't experienced before. He'd bought a rather fragrant purple flower and put it in the lapel of his suit. He'd considered briefly whether he had overdressed or not, before deciding not to think about it.

When the music started, the young Organa felt more than a little overwhelmed.

He covered his ears, surprised at the sudden sound. He took a moment like that, before uncovering his ears, and letting the music hit him full-force. And, surprising even himself, he enjoyed it. The corners of his mouth pushed a small smile out of him, watching as the Tatooine Five shredded their hearts out for all of Alderaan to hear.

"Wow."

“Say, I don't guess you know where I could donate a large amount of credits, courtesy of The Dobson family and Empire?"

“Yes I do. There are booths setup by the stage and by the entrance. The proceedes go to the refugee help. “

As Holly spoke she saw the gesture being given from the purple clad woman. Her reporters instincts kicked in. Trouble in the family? Perhaps a scoop was in order, after all people loved hearing gossip about famous people.

“Your sister has an interesting greeting for you. Whats that about?”

Severus Dobson Severus Dobson

Severus listened as Holly directed him toward the donation booths, but to his dismay, as he looked where she indicated, he saw none other than his stuck-up, sell-out sister, Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson giving him a sign that was certainly not appropriate for a place like this. It was enough to erase his smile as he observed the woman, wearing her bright purple uniform. She wasn't a nice woman, and her uniform was brighter than she was. She was foolish to wear it here, The Elysium Empire didn't formally recognize The Galactic Alliance. That was half of the reason Severus was here...to represent The Empire in a nation that probably wasn't too friendly with it.

He was curious as to why the vile woman was here, instead of complaining back at the fleet. She certainly wouldn't be helping represent The Dobson family....then it hit him. Dorthea was practically an advisor to Loreena Arenais-Valhoun. If Dorthea was here, then Loreena was probably here. He clenched his right fist, but quickly released it, remembering he was probably on camera. Instead he grinned and turned back to Holly, who was clearly about to ask a question.

Sure enough the question was asked, """Your sister has an interesting greeting for you. What's that about?"""

"Well, that's a long story....but I think I can summarize it for you: She's jealous of me because our father has chosen me to be his successor. To find the attention she wants, she likes to run around with The Elysium Empire and Loreena Arenais-Valhoun, putting them before her own family. Oh, did I mention that Loreena started a fight on a diplomatic mission, but her stepfather, The King, arrested my father? See, there are a lot of good things in The Elysium Empire, but there needs to be some changing of the guard. My hope is that more people will join The Empire. People that want to see the same changes as my father and I."

He paused for a moment, giving Holly time to take notes or follow up on her question, but changed his mind, quickly asking, "Back to donations...I figured there'd be a box, but what of larger donations, or donations other than monetary? For example if The Elysium Empire were to offer shipments of food to select areas of the galaxy..."

The superstar recording artist made his way through the backstage tents and prep rooms. Julius had gotten the call from his publicist, telling him that there was a relief concert on Alderaan. All the other big names were gonna be there, Shae Smithox, The Tatooine Five, the Naboo Tenors, even Greedo Punk. But Beyron was bigger than all of them. None of their recent albums had reached the top 10, where Julius's last two albums broke the top 5, with his most recent, "Still the One" reaching #2 on the galactic billboards, placing only behind old music rival Dak Hobson . Though the new album was still doing great despite everything else, he needed a little boost to keep his name from fading anytime soon.

Relief concerts weren't his kind of thing typically, but ever since the fiasco on Tion 4 months ago, he had been lying low on Hapes with the royals there. He was always welcome on Hapes. But it was time to get out of the shadows. His publicist had told him that when Queen Faith Organa Faith Organa of Alderaan's office had called to offer Julius the spot as one of the headliners in the concert, his team had to turn her down. Julius found out and got pretty angry, he never wanted to be one who refused gigs and headline shows. When he found out it was gonna be a massive relief effort, for the whole galaxy, he knew he had to do it. Live Aid, they were calling it. He jumped on his ship the next minute with only his sound crew and the meager equipment. He arrived just in time before the festivities had really kicked off.

This was also a perfect opportunity for Julius to get even bigger and make his image even better. And possibly even surpass Hobson in popularity. He was actually pretty excited, but never really nervous. He never got that way before big shows, he instead got more motivated to perform even better.

Even though he was doing this with no official invitation, the fans loved it when a surprise appearance happened at concerts, made them go crazy. Julius saw this at his big chance. His big chance to be on top and create an even more lasting legacy in the annals of galactic music.

Julius made it through outskirts of the big crowds without any recognition. He then started walk past a media booth with a reporter he recognized. Holly Starstorm Holly Starstorm . She was already within an interview, but Julius didn't care.

He decided to walk closer so she might recognize him. She would definitely not miss him with her eyes, that's for sure. He glanced over as she looked over at him, gave her a smile and wink and made his way quickly into the VIP and dressing room area. He timed it perfectly, by the time Holly reported that Julius was here, he would probably be on stage. His crew tossed some credits to the security and a whisper, and just like that Julius and his crew were in.

He made his way into the backstage dressing rooms, where the other bands and acts were prepping themselves for the action. He and his crew walked past one of the music organizers. She didn't recognize him at first and she began to shout loudly at him and his crew.

"Sir, HELLO!!!". "You folks can't be back here, you need to....". She stopped as Julius turned around and gave her a cheeky little grin.

"Yes, ma'am, you were saying", he said with a chuckle.

"You're, you're......Jul....Julius, Julius Beyron"

"I for sure am, darling".

The woman was still in shock and stunned at his presence, clearly a big fan begin her collapsing professional façade. "They....they said that they couldn't get you.....how did they...how did you...".

"Well I'm here now darling, now where do I go and get ready".

"Over there Mr. Beyron....over......there". She pointed to an empty unused dressing room/tent setup.

"Thank you ma'am, get ready to cheer when I get up there, oh and don't tell anyone out in the crowd that I'm here, I want the fans to lose it when they see me come on stage", he said as himself and his crew laughed.

"Uh uh, yes sir, good luck". He only turned his head and winked in response, soon after making his way to his tent. As he reached it, he could hear the crowd roar. The concert was beginning. It was time. Gosh, he loved this, it never got old.

"So let's get it started....here is the TATOOINE FIVE!"

The Tatooine Five, a good melody band, they were pretty good, not frauds like some others. Julius entered the tent and had his guys get the stuff ready. He opened his bag, with his signature outfit inside glaring up at him with all its glory.

He mumbled to himself,
"Oh yeah, its showtime".

He went outside the tent and went to the small refresher/bathroom building nearby. As he refreshed himself, he walked out of the stall and stopped in his tracks when he saw, Davis Margrow, the drummer of Jasper Clouds, one of the big acts playing at the concert. Davis, a short Tarnab with a very hippy deposition, had been a former drummer for Julius for over 4 years. He had left cordially when Jasper Clouds gave him a much bigger offer and better pay. Julius was totally fine with it and was a bit happy to see his old friend.

"Jully, what you doing here dude", he said smiling and clearly a bit intoxicated.

Julius smiled back, "Hey Davey, how's it hanging my old friend", said Julius as he washed his hands and gave his old drummer a quick hug.

"I thought they couldn't get you for this, or at least that what they said".

"Eh, I showed up anyway, haha".

Davis clapped him on the shoulder, "Well its good to see you Julius".

"Yeah, you too Davey". They stood still for a moment until the Tarnab started to leave.

"Well I better get back, but good luck buddy, you gonna need it".

As he walked out, Julius called back out to him, "Eh, this time I think I do". Davis looked back, smiled, and walked back to his tent. Julius soon did the same. He then went over and peered into the tent of the Naboo Tenors, who once went on tour with him when debuting his album, "Livin Life Good". They jumped up in joy when they saw him peeking in. The group joked around for a bit, also surprised that Julius had made it to Live Aid. He gave them a quick farewell and made his way back to his tent, where his guys were nearly done setting up. Once he got back, he told one of his crew members to find the concert announcer and let him know that Julius Beyron was here.

Here to rock the place to its core.

Julius thrived in the spotlight. It was where he shined above all else

Holly had a feeling there was some stuff going in within this family but if she left her booth to investigate she might get fired. She was already on thin ice for investigating a series of murders when she was supposed to be on mandatory vacation.

“I think for something like that it might be best to talk with a noble if Alderaan. They are the ones hosting the concert. Theo Vereen Theo Vereen opened the concert so he should be around and the rumor is the queen Faith Organa Faith Organa likes cookies so I am sure its only a matter of time before she shows up to the cookie stand.”

Arla gave Lori a polite nudge once she caught sight of Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson , so of course the young-lady-of-too-many-titles looked around to see what she was being nudged for. And that was when she spotted her advisor. Seeing the hand signals, she knew what that had meant and nodded with a small smile to let her know that she was understood.

Then it was back to the crowds.

The music was jumping and Lori couldn't help but move to the beat with a big grin on her face. She didn't always have a chance to let loose, especially in public, but now was her chance.

Arla however was the complete opposite, keeping her eyes on everything and everyone. She even spotted Severus Dobson Severus Dobson speaking with Holly Starstorm Holly Starstorm and if he happened to look, she kept her expression neutral. Most of the Dobsons were considered enemies of her charge and Severus was no different. Although she hadn't been in close proximity to him before, there was enough files on him that she had gone through to come to the conclusion that he was a lot like his father.

And that was dangerous.

"Come on, Arla! At least pretend to enjoy yourself!" It was Lori's turn to nudge her bodyguard, almost yelling to have her voice heard over the loud music. Of course her words were met with a stoic expression, so Lori just shrugged her shoulders and continued through the booths.

Indirectly, Arla was being sure that Lori steered clear of the Dobsons, and so she guided her charge away from them.

Dorthea sipped the last of her cafe and threw the empty disposable cup at a trash droid as it happily rolled by. At least, she thought it was a trash droid. She didn't bother to see if the droid picked it up.

She noted her route to the conference building, which took her past the stage, and set off at a brisk pace. She intended to be plenty early for the conference.

As she made her way through the attending crowd, the sound of loud music punished her eardrums. The music was honestly pretty good, but she preferred her quiet little quartermaster's office back on the HMS Shii-Cho. "Getting out" wasn't really something that suited her all that well. She figured she could purchase an album or two after the meeting. Her datapad played music more than well enough for her.

Then, as she managed to distance herself a bit from the stage, towards the back of the crowd, a young man in a dashing suit with a lovely flower in his lapel caught her eye. Having grown up in the lap of Dobson luxury, she knew a fine cut cloth when she saw one. This young man was clearly high-born. Probably Alderaani. Probably noble.

She halted hard in her tracks and locked her eyes on him with a faux-conspiratorial sideways look, attempting to grab his attention in a friendly way, "you're not here for the aide conference by chance, are you?"

There was something magical about music.

Not in the whimsical sense, of course. Alicio doubted a Jedi could move things with a song, or a Sith could choke a man across the room using nothing but the delicious licks of death metal. As much as Alicio would love to see that in a holoflick.

No, the magic of music was it's interconnectedness. Almost every culture on every planet had music in some form. For some reason, music was a cornerstone of conscious thought. If you were to place any two people in the galaxy together, and play them a selection of songs, they'll likely find one piece they both enjoy.

That was the beauty of music. No matter where you came from, who you were, what language you spoke, you were welcome to listen. One could meet anyone, and be instantly connected aurally. That's what this benefit concert was all about. Solidarity. Togetherness, for people that needed those things most of all.

Alicio was lost in the magic, the electricity that connected everyone there to each other. The thumping rhythm, the shrill sounds of electronic instruments that complimented each other perfectly, the sounds of the crowd, all working together in tandem to create art in vibration form.

He wasn't lost alone for long.

The young nobleman looked over at Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson , letting his small smile fade. She probably saw his attire. He inwardly cursed himself. He had overdressed. Alicio raised his voice a little to be heard over the audience. "I am," he said, a sudden look of concern shadowing his thin features. "It's my first."

Alicio wasn't even speaking. At least, he hadn't been told he was speaking. That meant he shouldn't be nervous. He could just enjoy all the good work people were doing for the refugees, and sit back as more important voices decided where the money went.

But it would be the first time he was in the room. The first time he would be there, watching how others molded the galaxy, watching his cousin mold it for the best. He would be where the big decisions were made.
"And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little terrified."

"Why do you ask? Are you attending?"

Find a noble. Simple enough. Severus gave the reporter a nod as she gave him tips as to where he might find some of the nobles. He thought for a moment, then had one of those famous "Dobson ideas" that his father always had. He looked at the camera, and took a step so he was slightly out of its' view. Then he pulled out a couple hundred credits from his pocket, and talked in a lower voice, "Good, thanks. Here, take this, and maybe you should come with me. I'll make sure whichever noble I find gives a few minutes to answer your questions." He gave the same smile he'd given earlier, though given what he had just said, the smile probably seemed a bit shady to the reporter.

As he waited for her answer, he considered how he would approach a noble. He wasn't sure which was more likely...finding the man that announced the concert, Theo, whom was likely behind the stage, or walking to one of the many cookie stands and hoping the queen was there. Both options seemed equally unlikely, but Severus liked the sound of "queen" more than "noble". Maybe she'd be pretty. He chuckled to himself, and looked around the crowd, seeking out the nearest treats stand...

Defence Minister Isla Draellix listened to the hum of her open topped speeder as it whipped through the air of Alderaan, it was a beautiful planet, with forest and mountains, and the people themselves were mostly very friendly. In the distance she could here the loud music from the concert. She would love to be there instead of on her way to a conference, but humanitarian causes were important to her and and even were they not, well fed wild space outside of Ashlan space was safer than desperate populations clamouring for the Sith to return.

She pulled out a mirror and double checked her appearance, she was happy with it, she felt a little strange, she had her military overcoat on, but due to the reputation for the Alderanians for being more casual and wishing to party, she had a much lighter dress slipped on underneath. She doubted she would need it, but it could be fun if she did.

There was a change in the pitch of the whining engine as the pilot brought them in to land outside the conference center and Isla gathered her belongings, quickly finishing the small beverage she had been provided with the for journey. The Pilot smiled as he helped the woman out of the speeder and on to the platform were a concierge waited.

"Good evening, I am Draellix from the Ashlan Crusade, here for the aid conference." The concierge checked her invite and led her towards the conference hall. She was a little early, but Isla was a stickler for punctuality, and as one of her few, non-military engagements, it would be nice to make a good first impression, too many people looked at her and saw violent Crusader, rather than the pragmatic woman that she was, and it made negotiation more difficult.
